Dog Walker,

Yes, I understood you were a Republican and not a libertarian. But you pointed out that some Republicans are turds, and of course some of them ARE. My intent was to point out that I'm not for Republicans when they act like turds or RINOs or however they get off the conservative path. If I were a Republican for the sake of being a Republican, I would lovingly tolerate and endorse RINOs and turds because they're "Republican" and that's all I care about.

Which party is more conservative? And to the extent that it is the Republicans, then I vote for the Republicans. That distinction is all I intended to point out.

I support Social Security and Medicare for one reason and one reason only: because people like my parents were FORCED to rely on both and they would die now - essentially murdered by government betrayal - if it were taken away from them.

That said, both Social Security and Medcicare were both GODAWFUL programs and society should have opted for a non-socialist, non-government privately-funded source so that my parents WOULDN'T have been forced to rely on these programs because government decided that they were the only option and you were in it whether you thought there was a better way for you and your family or not.

I've written about that: "<a href="On The Government Takeover And Of The FAR Better Privatized Option We Should Have Had" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Let’s Reflect On The History Of Social Security: On The Government Takeover And Of The FAR Better Privatized Option We Should Have Had.</a>" A DEMOCRAT in the 1930s had a FAR better plan. Chile went to a privatized system and saved their retirees.

So we need to save it for the sake of those who already paid and are already retired. Give them what they were promised. And then begin to modify it for those who still have time to find the alternatives we demand to take effect so they can have a good retirement some day, too.

Government employees should be forced to have the retirement system that they impose on the rest of us. The fact that they exempt themselves from the very thing that they impose on everyone else is evil.

As to taking on liberals in public, I suppose it truly does take both kinds to make up the world. In my own case, the moment I see that I'm not having an actual debate/argument with somebody, because they either shout or just blather talking points mindlessly or invent facts, I don't want to have anything more to do with that individual and want to move on to a conversation that is worth having. I do that in my comments, too, but in writing this blog I guess I'm trying to do my best to do my arguing in my articles. That doesn't mean I'm not a big fan of your getting in people's faces; it's just not as much my wiring. There are plenty of VERY vocal liberals who get in people's faces and it's past time more of us responded in kind, number one; and number two we are getting close to having a government that could only be resisted by physical confrontation. And the wise man can well reason that if we do more getting in people's faces now we won't have to do as much later.

Conservative. I am mostly conservative. I am definitely not a libertarian. I wonder if I got that distinction right.

I still defend Social Security tooth and nail. I don't know what that makes me. If they were just now trying to invent it I ain't that sure that I would vote for it. But since I paid it all of my life it really, really pisses me off that government employees are skipping out on paying it. Then I see the pricks putting bumper stickers that say "If you like your Social Security, thank a Democrat."

Like yeah right, the guy probably doesn't even pay it. Cops, firefighters, teachers, corrections workers etc.

For them it is negotiable. For us it is a tax. For my segment of society it was supposed to be retirement security. Public sector creeps have an uninteruptible line to the taxpayer as retirement security. They have nothing to worry about. They shouldn't have to even consider us.

They need a COLA. They just reach deeper into grandma's pocket. The grandma whose needs they pointedly ignore.

I am getting to where my language is becoming more foul.

I insult strangers in public. Democrats will no doubt consider themselves to be the more urbane or civilized philosophy.

Dog Walker,

Sorry. That's not one of the terms I use often enough to know the spelling. And when I used firefox I had a spell checker in my comments, but now I don't (and miss it!).

I'm a CONSERVATIVE. I vote for Republicans because they're the closest thing to conservatives that we have.

The thing about "God damn America" is that you don't HAVE a truly virtuous choice; you've got the lesser of two evils.

99% of the time, the Republican qualifies at least as that.

Douche bag heh! My spell checker don't like the way you spelled it. I used to be a Democrat. You probably don't want to hear about that. Now, I don't necessarily like Republicans, but I hate Democrats.

A Republican candidate for my districts' state house has been to my house like six times soliciting my vote. He is the former head of a police union. I told him I ain't voting for a union man trying to be a Republican. He changed all of his mailers removing that that he was the head of the police union.

I get to looking at his Democrat opponent. She is a blatant crook. She ain't even running under her "real" name.

Choice between a douche bag and a crook. I guess I am going to vote for a guy that don't like me and that I don't like. Yikes!
