I’ll have to give it a whirl when I’ve got more free time than I’ve got right now.

I am mystified why so few Republicans and conservative talking heads even TRY to articulate why high marginal tax rates are bad for the economy and bad for POOR people and why low marginal tax rates are America’s best hope.

I’ll have to give your feller Quinn a listening to.

On my view, what is even worse than the straight reporters who can’t ask decent follow-up questions are the conservative contributors who often get to argue the Republican view. Reporters are supposed to be “unbiased,” but when the people who are PAID to be biased as conservatives can’t or won’t make most of the arguments that we need to make.

When you’re supposed to be able to know your facts and be able to present them from a conservative perspective, you ought to damn well know your facts and be able and ready to argue for the truth.

There’s that famous saying, “Evil prevails when good men do nothing.” And if conservatives who are on a networks and writing the articles can’t articulate basic issues such as why tax rate cuts increase government revenues, then they need to step down so somebody can do the job.

You know, I would have assurred you that it is a well-known statistical fact that Democrats are considerably more likely to respond to a poll than a Republicans. But I don’t make statements like that without making sure it really IS a well-known statistical fact, and when I checked it turned out that there was no correlation that I could find between party affiliation and likelihood of responding to a poll.

I know that I sure as heck don’t want to respond to a dang poll.

One thing is for sure; they were sure oversampling Democrats at least up until a couple of weeks ago.

Of course, there’s a red-hot debate as to whether Biden is more Jack Torrance from “The Shining” or the Joker from “Batman.” He’s either one or the other; but apparently, the difference matters.

As to Ohio, I agree with you. I have been concerned for awhile that Romney could win – and even EASILY win – the popular vote and lose in a couple of critical swing states that cost him the election. One of the tricks Obama has used was patented by FDR: to use the billions of dollars of stimulus money as a political slush fund to essentially buy votes. Becuase that’s EXACTLY how FDR politically exploited the New Deal and Obama has followed that script with the stimulus with stimulus funds OVERWHELMINGLY going to key political states like Ohio.

And then of course there is the damn cheating. And we’ll probably see more than we’ve ever seen because this is THE most dishonest president in American history.

But every time I get most concerned, I also realize how disingenuous the polls can be. Public Policy Polling, for example, just got caught red-handed exploiting its polling to do advocacy campaigning for Obama. Why should you trust a polling outfit that would do that???

All I can do is look at the polls that are out there. A couple of them have Romney UP in Ohio, and a couple have Obama only up by one. And which one is the biggest outlier? The very same one that just got caught cheating for Obama.
