Yeah, in California it's a quasi-felony, quasi-measdemeanor, depending on the cirumstances such as how good your lawyer is and how bad they want to nail you.

I'd just assume not find out which it is the hard way.

Dog Walker,

I'd have to see and better understand your argument that "government workers don't pay taxes."

As a soldier I had to pay taxes, although soldiers were given special tax exemptions and credits that were not avaiable to the general public. I also had to pay state taxes (I had joined the military in the state of Oregon and was a legal resident of Oregon at the time) based on federal income tax rules. And I personally wouldn't want it any other way for our soldiers.

I'd also point out that <a href="http://sweetness-light.com/archive/federal-workers-dont-pay-taxes-either" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">plenty of government officials</a> - such as Timothy Geithner as one famous example - turned out to be tax cheats. That kind of implies that they had an obligation to pay taxes, but didn't.

Oh yeah, I was going to say something about my speculation that only one in seven are taxpayers in my state. Alright, figure the population includes children, they don't pay taxes. Figure the population of welfare deadbeats and their children, they don't pay.

Here is the wild one. I assert that government employees don't pay taxes.

One time I was at a public meeting where city employees were all whining about the mayor having denied them their scheduled raises. Some of them even got pay cuts. All of this was out of budgetary respect to the taxpayer who suffered incredibly because of the economy. One of the city employees went to the podium and whined "we pay taxes too."

When I got to the podium it was so sweet. I responded to the effect that government employees supposing that they pay taxes is like a preacher who preaches two services on Sunday. He passes the plate at each service, but just prior to the second service he grabs a wad of cash out of the plate. Then at the second service he puts some money in the plate and boasts, "see I tithe too! Out of my own money!"

So eh, you can kind of see why those guys hate me.

FMC,

Either nuts, or balls of steel, OR actually HAS a permit that he'd whip out if he actually needed to.

I believe that the freak show that Democrats have raised about voter ID laws ought to get conservatives and libertarians phrasing their question this way: if it's "unconstitutional" to require ID to allow somebody to vote, then why the hell would it be anything OTHER than unconstitutional to require ID to allow somebody to buy a gun AND CARRY IT when that right is enshrined in the 2nd Amendment?

I don't know. I know I DON'T have "balls of steel" because the last time I got hit in the nuts they definitely WERE NOT made of steel. And maybe because of that if I'm going to do something that could land me in jail the last thing I'd do would be to talk about it in any kind of a public forum. But that is of course coming from an obviously cowardly man who has a clear phobia about being hit in my balls.

There is a radio, talk-show host in my area named Brian Wilson who carries without a permit. He is a libertarian and believes that he has the right and does not need a permit. He will carry even in places that say don't carry.
Dog Walker,

One of the reasons I started this blog and did so much documenting of what I was saying is because the media has a way of "purging" a lot of stuff that doesn't make their liberal ideology look good. One of my primary goals was simply to preserve a record. Because liberals despise truth and hate facts and love to revise history.

300,000 taxpayers out of 2 million residents? Wow, Obamanomics is really working super swell in your state. Having one actual taxpayer to about every seven parasites must be pretty awesome.

Given that the left ALWAYS is the first to resort to violence EVERY SINGLE TIME, and given that conservative nails that stick up tend to get pounded down in all kinds of underhanded ways, it's a good idea to think about self-protection.

As to the .380, all I can say is I would personally never publicly say I was carrying if I didn't have the permit to be carrying. I wouldn't even tell my friends. 'Cause you just never know who's listening in.

You won't find much on Paige McKenzie. The media more or less spiked the story. If the tables were turned, it would have been a headline in every paper. Our paper passed it off as a random act.

It had to be just weird coincidence that Paige was spokesperson to a political campaign. Oh, and Paige left the state as well.

My state has 6 billion in unfunded pension liabilities. That don't sound like much compared to CA, but I think we only have population 2 million. Out of that we probably only have 3 hundred thousand tax payers. So it is a big deal.

I saved some newspaper clippings on Paige. One of them is a really weird article by the Dem chairman. I ought to send it with my analysis. I would have to scan it. It has all kinds of metaphor of sports violence. It was published a day or so after the McKenzie hit. In my mind it was a tongue in cheek claim for the hit. Some people think I am stretching with that supposition.

A .380 in my underwear sounds a little weird or unsanitary. What I got is a fabric holster that is like a money belt sort of. It is actually between my underwear and my pants. I don't wear it in the gym per se. But to and from and pretty much everywhere. I am not going to submit to a beating. Of course I have the feeling that in my case it wouldn't be a beating.

I wish I could link you to the City Council video. It used to be online. But I think it was wiping out their bandwidth so they took down the video. I am actually kind of liking that. TV news would take clips out of it, which is fine for open government and all. But I got to feeling kind of... even in the grocery story I would get antagonism from like an off duty bus driver. But hey, those guys are lardass wimps.

Anyway...

Dog Walker,

We're blood brothers on the unions. I'll have to look up the Paige McKenzie story and add it to my article "<a href="http://startthinkingright.wordpress.com/2010/10/05/labor-unions-a-century-of-genuine-evil/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Labor Unions: A Century Of Genuine Evil</a>."

It was labor unions who formed the backbone of the Marxist takeover. It was labor unions who formed the backbone of the Nazi Party takeover (NAZI = National SOCIALIST German WORKERS Party). It is labor unions who are behind most of the violent unrest in now-financially ruined Greece, Italy and Spain. And when we start seeing pervasive violence in America, labor unions will be the backbone of that, too.

<a href="http://articles.latimes.com/2010/apr/06/opinion/la-oe-crane6-2010apr06" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">California alone has a $500 billion black hole due to union pensions</a>. Unions are truly evil entities, pure and simple. And either we kill unions or unions will kill America.
