Racist Obamas Invite ‘Poet’ Who Threatened George Bush, Advocated Cop Murder To White House

May 11, 2011

Here are the lyrics to the vile loathsome crap that passes off as “poetry” to Barack and Michelle Obama:

A Letter to the Law
Dem boy wanna talk… [indistinguishable]
Whatcha gon do if ya got one gun?
I sing a song for the hero unsung
with faces on the mural of the revolution
No looking back cos’ in back is what’s done
Tell the preacher, god got more than one son
Tell the law, my Uzi weighs a ton
I walk like a warrior,
from them I won’t run
On the streets, they try to beat us like a drum
In Cincinnati, another brother hung
A guinea won’t see the sun
with his family stung
They want us to hold justice
but you handed me none
The same they did to Kobe and Michael Jackson
make them the main attraction
Turn around and attack them
Black gem in the rough
You’re rugged enough
Use your mind and nine-power, get the government touch
Them boys chat-chat on how him pop gun
I got the black strap to make the cops run
They watching me, I’m watching them
Them dick boys got a lock of cock in them
My people on the block got a lot of pok* in them
and when we roll together
we be rocking them to sleep
No time for that, because there’s things to be done
Stay true to what I do so the youth dream come
from project building
Seeing a fiend being hung
With that happening, why they messing with Saddam?
Burn a Bush cos’ for peace he no push no button
Killing over oil and grease
no weapons of destruction
How can we follow a leader when this a corrupt one
The government’s a g-unit and they might buck young black people
Black people In the urban area one
I hold up a peace sign, but I carry a gun.
Peace, ya’ll.”

So let’s honor “poets” that say killing police is a good thing.  Let’s honor a guy who said we should burn George Bush to death for the war in Iraq, etc.

I can imagine a “poet” writing a “poem” that “cleverly” connects the similarity in the names of Obama and Osama.  And then “cleverly” suggest that Obama should share the same fate Osama just received.

And I imagine that there would probably be a market for garbage like that, masquerading as “art.”  Because there are a lot of diseased minds in this country.

But here’s the difference: George and Laura Bush would not have had that filth corrupting their White House if they’d been president and first lady for a million billion years.  And in this case the “diseased minds” belong to Barack and Michelle Obama.

Which is why George Bush has more class in one hair follicle than Barack Obama does in his entire family tree.  Particularly given what a vile tree Obama fell out of.

I will never understand how Barack Obama can give one astonishingly hypocritical moral lecture after another, and then invite moral filth like this into the White House.

If a Republican President were to invite the “white” equivalent of this cockroach “Common,” the media would spend the rest of his presidency seeing page one stories about his racism.

For what it’s worth, this “Common” guy came out of Jeremiah Wright’s and Barack Obama’s Trinity United Church.  Which is just one more illustration of what a moral sewer this synagogue of satan truly is.

“Common” also eulogized a convicted cop murderer (Assata Shakur) in a song titled, “A Song for Assata,” in which he said of her: “Your power and pride is beautiful. May God bless your soul.”  Shakur, a violent racist Black Panther formerly known as Joanne Chesimard, was convicted for the 1973 slaying of Trooper Werner Foerster on the New Jersey Turnpike. She escaped prison in 1979, and is living in asylum in Cuba.

New Jersey police are beyond outraged at this.

I shouldn’t even have to adress how vile it is to sing “inspirational” songs in celebration of something that evil.  The only thing I can think of that would be more vile than that would be for a president and first lady to celebrate that kind of moral filth in the White House.

I have always said that Barack Hussein Obama is a genuinely evil man.  It just keeping getting easier and easier for me to stand by that statement.

Liberals live in a world of massive hypocrisy and gigantic double standards.  I think of how they demonized – and continue to demonize – the Tea Party movement as being violent and white.  And then we saw what white liberals in Wisconsin were capable of.  For the record, Tea Partiers NEVER threatened to molest a liberal politician’s kids; “obstructionist” “Party of No” Republicans NEVER left their state because they were too undemocratic to vote; Tea Partiers NEVER smashed windows and rioted in political offices; and they most certainly NEVER caused $7 million in damage with their vandalism.  But none of that matters when hypocrisy defines your entire ideology.

Obama gave less than 1% of his income a year to charity until he decided to run for president.  But now this man who refused to give his own money even to charties he most strongly beleived in is a strong proponent of forcing others to give their money to a government they rightly increasingly despise.  Being generous with other people’s money isn’t righteousness; it is wickedness.  The man is a quintessential hypocrite.

And this same man has given me idiotic moral lectures on race while he comes from a tradition of hard-core racism.  He’s cynically lectured us on not turning on one another, when all he’s done is turn on conservatives, demonize straw men and tell outright lies, and celebrate the lowest and most loathsome forms of black racism.

White House Whitewash Sestak Cover-Story Falling Apart

June 1, 2010

Pennsylvania Democrat Governor Ed Rendell had this to say about the Sestak contoversy:

“Stonewalling it for months — yes, not smart. This explanation is perfectly reasonable. They should have put it out there at the beginning.”

So we have an acknowledgment that the White House has been stonewalling for months.  That much is correct.

What ISN’T correct is that the “explanation is perfectly reasonable.”  It isn’t reasonable at all.

First of all, the White House itself refutes the notion that the Bill Clinton telephone offer of a non-paying position in exchange for Sestak dropping his Senate bid was all there was to this story.

The White House memo uses the plural word “discussions.”  As in “discussions between White House staff and Congressman Joe Sestak.”  And these discussions took place between June and July.  Which means unless Bill Clinton called Joe Sestak in June and hung up the phone two months later, this call clearly wasn’t all there was.

So we’re not just talking about one conversation with Bill Clinton.  Nor is Bill Clinton a member of the White House staff.  The White House itself acknowledges that a member or members of the White House staff contacted Joe Sestak.  Which member of the White House staff?  When?  And regarding what?

And the memo also says:

“Efforts were made in June and July of 2009 to determine whether Congressman Sestak would be interested in service on a Presidential or other Senior Executive Branch advisory board, which would avoid a divisive Senate primary, allow him to retain his seat in the House, and provide him with an opportunity for additional service to the public in a high level advisory capacity for which he was highly qualified.”

Wow.  They really make that advisory position sound like “something of value,” i.e., something which would be illegal to offer in the first place.

But the claim that Sestak could serve on the presidential board and retain his seat in the House of Representatives is simply factually incorrect.

Rep. Joe Sestak would in fact NOT have been able to serve in the House of Representatives and serve on a presidential or “executive” advisory board.  Ever hear about a little thing called “the Separation of Powers”?

Sestak cover story starts to unravel
Ed Lasky

Crafting a cover story that is consistent with awkward facts is hard. Did the best and the brightest miss this? Sestak was not eligible to serve on the Intelligence Advisory Board. Byron York of the Washington Examiner reports:

In a little-noticed passage Friday, the New York Times reported that Rep. Joe Sestak was not eligible for a place on the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, the job he was reportedly offered by former President Bill Clinton.  And indeed a look at the Board’s website reveals this restriction:
The Board consists of not more than 16 members appointed by the President from among individuals who are not employed by the Federal Government. Members are distinguished citizens selected from the national security, political, academic, and private sectors.

As a sitting member of Congress, Sestak was not eligible for the job. [....]

The statement from White House counsel Robert Bauer did not specifically mention the intelligence board, but speaking to reporters Friday, Sestak said of his conversation with Clinton, “At the time, I heard the words ‘presidential board,’ and that’s all I heard…I heard ‘presidential board,’ and I think it was intel.” In addition, the Times reported that “people briefed on the matter said one option was an appointment” to the intelligence board. But the White House could not legally have placed Sestak on the board.

An already implausible story has become much harder to believe.

How “reasonable” is this story, Governor Rendell?  And THIS is the story that justifies what you yourself acknowledge was MONTHS of STONEWALLING???

It is hard to imagine that anyone believed for a second that Joe Sestak would pass up a unique opportunity to become a United States Senator in exchange for such a flimsy offer.  It is even more ridiculous to believe that Bill Clinton – a former president – would be called upon to make such a transparently ridiculous offer.  And it is even more ridiculous yet that neither the White House, or Bill Clinton, or Rep. Sestak would have been so completely unaware that the very basis of the offer – a position which would allow Sestak to serve in the House AND serve on a presidential board – was in fact completely false.

You want to know what makes a lot more sense?  The White House stonewalled for months because they had no legitimate answer to the Joe Sestak bribe offer, and then a White House lawyer thought fast and crafted a transparently false explanation.

For the record, Joe Sestak affirmed several important points: 1) that he was offered a “federal job.”  A federal job is the kind of thing that pays.  2) Sestak affirmed that the “federal job” was “high ranking.”  3) Sestak affirms that it was the “White House” that made the “high ranking” “federal job” offer.

The current White House Whitewash fails to deal with all three points.  And then on top of that, they acknowledge that “discussions” (plural) took place over a two month period while only releasing an account of only ONE discussion.  And that these discussions were between the White House staff and Congressman Sestak.  And that the basis of the job offer was something that Sestak could do while retaining his job as Congressman – which has clearly been refuted.

And this was the best thing that the White House could come up with after three months of stonewalling.

This is clearly a cover story.

Something really stinky is going on.

This is clearly a serious violation of the law.

And this is also part of a clear PATTERN OF CORRUPTION:

Sestak-gate: White House Offered Romanoff Job, Too
Wednesday, 26 May 2010 08:18 PM
By Jim Meyers

Allegations that the White House offered Joe Sestak a job in exchange for dropping out of the Pennsylvania Senate race echo an earlier report of a job offer to candidate Andrew Romanoff in Colorado.

On Sept. 27, 2009, the Denver Post reported that the Obama administration offered Senate candidate Romanoff a position if he canceled plans to run for the Democratic nomination against incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet.

The paper said the job offer, which specified particular jobs, reportedly was delivered by Jim Messina, Obama’s deputy chief of staff. One position the Post cited was a job at USAID, the foreign aid agency.

And do I need to invoke the name of “Blagojevich” and his attempt to sell Barack Obama’s Senate Seat?

The Chicago way is a very, very ugly way.  And Obama has been in it up to his eyeballs.  Chicago is a dirty place filled with dirty politicians – and Obama was perfectly at home with all the dirt.

That Chicago corruption extends right into Obama’s home, by way of his wife Michelle.  This is a woman who sat on high-paying boards in direct quid-pro-quo consequences of Obama advancing in public office.  And in some of those boards, she participated in the worst kind of hospital patient-dumping.

Here’s a video of Michelle Obama you ought to watch – if you can stand the revelations:

Too bad we voted to nationalize the Chicago Way.

Team Obama Fails To Get Olympics, Blames Bush

October 4, 2009

I get the sense that the Obama administration has no idea how to do anything, and no longer even bothers to try to address issues facing the country.  Rather, they spend the entirety of every meeting trying to figure out how they can blame the increasing failures plaguing the administration (and in turn, the nation) on one George W. Bush.

Bush is to Obama what Emmanuel Goldstein was to Big Brother.  Bush Is The One Who Is To Receive All Blame.

You’d think Obama wouldn’t want to exhaust this well (there’s going to be a LOT more bad economic news, after all, to go with the increasingly bad news in Afghanistan and Iran).  But, nope.  He’s gonna to keep running to Bush derangement like a baby runs to mama every single time.

Did anti-American resentments play role in Chicago’s bid losing?

BY ABDON M. PALLASCH Political Reporter

Some Chicago officials say anti-American resentments likely played a role in Chicago’s Olympic bid dying in the first round today.

President Obama could not undo in one year the resentment against America that President Bush and others built up for decades before, they said.

“There must be” resentment against America, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said, near the stage where he had hoped to give a victory speech in Daley Plaza. “The way we [refused to sign] the Kyoto Treaty, we mislead the world into Iraq. The world had a very bad taste in its mouth about us. But there was such a turnaround after last November. The world now feels better about America and about Americans. That’s why I thought the president’s going was the deal-maker.”

State Rep. Susana Mendoza (D-Chicago) said she saw first hand the resentment against America five years ago when she was in Rio de Janeiro to speak as a surrogate for then-presidential candidate John Kerry.

“This vote today was without a doubt ridiculously political and mean-spirited,” Mendoza said. “I travel a lot. I was literally nearly killed in Rio three years ago when I was there representing the U.S. Government. I thought we had really turned a corner with the election of President Obama. People are so much more welcoming of Americans now. But this isn’t the people of those countries. This is the leaders still living with an outdated impression of Americans.”

Just gag me with a spoon so I can hurl already.

As HotAir put it, “Copenhagen just a little too far away to have dead people cast a few votes for Chicago…”  And too far away for ACORN shenanigans to bail them out, too.

There were only four contestants, and Obama couldn’t even win the Bronze?  The Olympic Committee heard Obama’s spiel, and awarded him with Last Place.  Or as presidential historian Stephen Hess put it, “I think to be eliminated in the first round is very embarrassing, to put it mildly.”

Unless you can blame Emmanuel Goldstein for it, it sure is.

The article goes on to later quote Robert Gibbs:

Presidential press secretary Robert Gibbs rejected the notion that the vote was influenced by the United States’ standing around the world.

And, of course, Gibbs doesn’t HAVE to go out and show the White House’s sour grapes.  He – along with Obama – have a ton of leftists and lackeys to do the White House’s bidding for them.

It’s funny that the same media that was quite literally stupefied that The One couldn’t win the Olympic games (youtube) -

- was able to recover so immediately as to point out that Obama never really had a chance given that the world still hates that devil Bush.  The New York Daily News wrote:

Chicago was never going to get the Olympics. We know that now, and probably should have known it a week ago. Maybe the world doesn’t hate us as much as it did one year ago, but the International Olympic Committee certainly does.

And if that line doesn’t work, they still have the “a racist world wants Obama to fail” angle to pursue.

George Bush wasn’t going to get any excuses from the mainstream media unless his people went out and MADE the excuse.  And when they did offer an a justifying narrative, it usually got instantaneously dismissed by a media that couldn’t wait to poke every hole they could find in the Bush account.  When it comes to Obama, though every failure immediately has as many media narratives as will be necessary to explain away that failure.  Their very favorite one can be summed up in two words: blame Bush.

We find that – even with identical unemployment situations – the media treated Ronald Reagan and their beloved Barack Obama very differently.  Reagan received 91% coverage, and a steady diet of blame for the high unemployment figures, whereas Obama The Beloved has received only 7% negative coverage for the same figures.  This whopping disparity is due to two phenomena:

1) The mainstream media is every bit as biased toward the left as Pravda used to be biased toward the Communist Party.

2) Reagan didn’t spend all of his time bitching and whining about how he had inherited every possible scintilla of negative developments on his disastrous predecessor Jimmy Carter.  Rather, he manned-up and solved the problems facing the country.

I don’t think that Obama has so much as a molecule of that “spirit of manning-up” in him.  Rather, he is a demagogue, from the alpha to the omega. He’s the kind of man who demonized George Bush or Hillary Clinton for pursuing the very same policies that he himself is now pursuing; and he’s the kind of man who said he wouldn’t raise our taxes, and then weaseled around by pretending that his health care tax wasn’t in fact a tax.

Harry Truman had his famous sign that said, “The buck stops here.”  Like the bust of great WWII leader Winston Churchill, Obama threw that notion out.  Obama has a very different mindset from either of those great leaders.  As far as Obama is concerned, the buck stops at Bush — and it won’t stop anywhere else, until something happens that makes him look good.

Let’s face facts: Obama’s decision to go to Denmark to pitch for his profiteering and slum-owning Chicago pals was stupid.  He made the Olympics all about himself just by going, and then made incredibly narcissistic pitches to the Olympic committee.  And if the speeches hadn’t already filled the nearest barf buckets, Michele wailed that their luxury travel to luxury accommodations in Denmark was just “such a sacrifice.” The Drudge Report probably expressed it best: “The Ego Has Landed.”

G.O.P. leader Michael Steele said Obama should stay home and take care of pressing business such as health care, high unemployment, and Afghanistan rather than run off to Europe to pitch Chicago.  The Obama White House responded by demagoguing Steele, and accusing him of rooting for Brazil instead of America.  Well, not it’s time to get a demagoguery pay back: not only did Obama abandon American troops in Afghanistan and unemployed workers in America to run off to Europe to beg for the games so he could “wrap up his second term as president by opening the 2016 Olympic Games in Chicago.” Because the whole damn planet revolves around him, doesn’t it?  And then The Most Popular President In The History Of The World couldn’t even get that rather lame job done.

Hey, Gibbs, maybe Steele was actually rooting for American’s rather than Obama’s future prestige.  You might tell your boss to do the same.

Barack Obama argued that the Olympics could help America repair its image – because he himself is so profoundly un-American that he believes it ever needed to be “repaired” in the first place.

Blagojevich Scandal And Chicago Politics Coming Home To Roost

December 9, 2008

Newsflash: Chicago politics are corrupt.  Illinois politics are corrupt.  FBI Special Agent Robert Grant said that “if [Illinois] isn’t the most corrupt state in the United States, it is one hell of a competitor.”

You don’t get rise in Chicago politics without getting dirty.  That is simply a statement of the way things are.  If you want to say that Barack Obama wasn’t corrupted by “the Chicago way,” the most positive thing you can say about the man is that he was devoid of personal courage and made a career out of looking the other way and playing the game.

You see, when Bill Clinton said that Barack Obama had “the political instincts of a Chicago thug,” he understood something about Obama’s former playground and the man who emerged from it.

As this Governor Blagojevich thing explodes all over the place, I can’t help but be reminded of the worst of the Obama campaign.

Obama told reporters, “I had no contact with the governor or his office, so I was not aware of what was happening,” clearly distancing himself from his home state and its governor, whom he previously had endorsed for re-election.  But only three weeks ago (November 23) before the truth became a liability his key adviser said something completely different:

I know he’s talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them.”

But then the fecal matter hits the rotary oscillator and suddenly David Axelrod comes out and says, “I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the President-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy.  They did not then or at any time discuss the subject.”

Way to lie, Barry and David.  Rod Blagojevich couldn’t have done it any better himself.

Let’s not forget that the man who is going to be making appointments that – given the state of the economy – could literally determine our national survival twice  endorsed the biggest sleazeball governor of at least the last quarter century.  Just like he endorsed the spiritual leadership of the biggest sleazeball pastor of, well, pretty much all time.

And I’m flashing back to how Barack Obama spent 23 years in a racist anti-American church and somehow was never around when Wright said anything troubling.  Or heard about it.  Or read about it in the issues of church publication Trumpet Magazine that had Obama on the cover.  And imagine how surprised he was to find out for the first time ever that Jeremiah Wright had said one hateful thing after another.

Barack Obama hasn’t even taken the oath of office yet and he’s already taken “I did not have sexual relations with that woman”-style lies to a whole new level.  He’s the kind of politician who can be caught red-handed in bed with one scumbag after another (Rezko, Wright, Pfleger, Ayers, Khalidi, ACORN, etc.)  and talk his way out of it every time with the help of a completely complicit and corrupt media that has been only too willing to believe fall for every, “Are you going to believe me or are you going to believe your lying eyes?” story the Obama campaign has told.

Chicago Tribune writer John Kass explained the media’s utter refusal to look into Obama’s political dealings in Chicago thusly:

The national media have never wanted to understand, much less expose, political corruption here, or examine how Obama prospered under the Daley machine’s guidance. A trip down the Chicago Way would force them to re-examine their ridiculous narrative that sets Obama as a political reformer riding a white horse, or is that a winged unicorn?

I wrote back in August, “Barack Obama brings with him the two very worst elements of the Democratic Party: the corrupt Chicago political apparatus and the radical leftist ideology.”  That’s pretty much another way of saying, “You can take the politician out of Chicago, but you can’t take the Chicago out of the politician.”

In a way, you can’t blame Blagojevich.  He just wanted the same kind of goodies that Barack Obama got.  He wanted his wife to get lucrative positions on corporate boards – you know, just like Michelle Obama got because of her husband’s influence.  He wanted to collect from the same kind of sweetheart deals that Barack Obama got to collect from slumlord Tony Rezko.

That article on Rezko ends with the words:

So the house (or mansion) that Obama built allegedly has some interesting foundations. Of course, the mainstream media is nowhere to be seen covering this explosive combination. Still, the old axiom of dogs and fleas proves true. One does not have to look far to find an infestation inside Obama’s house.

When we voted for Barack Obama to become our next president, we voted for Chicago politics.  Let’s not be suprised if we see a whole lot more of them.

Experience: Where Sarah Palin Is Sorely Lacking

September 3, 2008

You may have heard that one or two liberals believe that Sarah Palin is “dangerously lacking” in certain essential features that would qualify her to be our next Vice President.

Peter from Dover, New Hampshire helped me to realize that Sarah Palin is lacking in a number of important experiences.  To many, this list is more than enough to disqualify her from high office:

1) You have probably heard about Sarah Palin’s baby born with Down Syndrome, her daughter who became pregnant at age 17, and maybe even about her son who is about deploy to Iraq as a U.S. Army infantryman.  Unfortunately,  Sarah Palin lacks a kid who lobbies her for sweetheart deals the way Joe Biden’s son lobbied him for the 2005 Bankruptcy law “overhaul” that has been recognized to be directly responsible for causing the foreclosure crisis that screwed hundreds of thousands of poor suckers out of their homes.

2) Sarah Palin is sadly lacking in terrorist friends who that helped her get her start in politics and wish they blew up more of the country like Barack’s friend William Ayers.

3) Sarah Palin – in spite of all hope to the contrary – is lacking in criminal friends who helped her buy a million dollar house amidst extremely suspicious circumstances and are on their way to jail like Tony Rezko.

4) Sarah Palin – in spite of her known religious beliefs – is lacking a reverend and long-time mentor who harbors profound racist prejudices and anti-American views like Obama’s pastor, Jeremiah Wright.  If that isn’t bad enough, she chose to attend a church which worshipped Jesus rather than one that pursued radical Marxist theology and black separatism.

5) Sarah Palin is lacking a spouse who says he has never been proud of his country in his adult lifetime, says that America is downright mean and guided by fear, and says that Americans hold on to ignorance and stereotypes.

6) Particularly troubling for many liberals is the fact that Sarah Palin actually chose to keep a baby with Down Syndrome instead of leaving it in a storage closet to slowly die of neglect, as the Born Alive Infant Protection Act that Barack Obama voted against and would not allow to come up for a vote was written to prevent.

7) And what may be the worst of the worst – Sarah Palin is lacking a penis.  It is only appropriate to be a successful female politician if you are a Democrat, and only Hillary Clinton can run for the executive branch.  All Republican women desiring to make history must be destroyed by any means necessary.

For these and other reasons, Sarah Palin is clearly not qualified to run for Vice President according to Democrats.

It’s a shame, really.  I thought she would make a great VP.  But this lack of so many crucial experiences is simply devastating to her candidacy.

Democrats Viciously Attack Sarah Palin As Bad Mother

September 1, 2008

Do you wish you had a nickel for every time you heard the phrase, “the Republican attack machine“?  Would you buy your own island if you had all those nickels?

Republicans, we are told, use dirty tricks.  Democrats, on the other hand, are represented as being pure as the driven snow.

You want proof?  Just look at John Kerry; he was “Swiftboated” (the fact that 264 of John Kerry’s fellow Swift Boat veterans signed a petition against him, and only 13 took his side, is apparently irrelevant.  And Barack Obama told Tennessee Republicans to “Lay off my wife” for attacking some of her public statements.

You can’t get lower than that, can you?

Until we start to learn that liberals will dredge to the depths of hell to get as low and dirty as they can, and then they will keep on digging.  And they will stop at absolutely nothing until they have reached absolute rock bottom.

John Kerry Swiftboated?  It turns out that if he’d been a Republican, he would have been accused of having committed incest with both of his two daughters, secretly fathering children by his children, and then selling his incest babies into slavery in Cambodia.  Barack Obama’s wife attacked for her public statements?  It turns out that if Barack had been a Republican, Michelle would have been accused of leaving her two girls in a sealed-up car for hours while she smoked crack cocaine.  And let’s not forget the reports that Barack Obama has been engaging in “down-low” gay sex with a clandestine group of several men, and locks his children in a dark storage closet for hours at a time while the liaisons are talking place.

Do you think I’m exaggerating?  Just wait until you see what liberals are saying about Sarah Palin as a mother, and what they are saying about her family.  What I have seen in the last few days’ coming from Democrats is the most vile, twisted, despicable, pathetic, disgusting, hateful, and loathsome attack I have ever seen. A Few Details That May Not Come Up During Michelle Obama’s DNC Speech

August 25, 2008

I figured that Michelle Obama – in introducing herself to America, might forget a couple of important details. So – gracious, charming, and frankly wonderful fella that I am, I thought I’d help jog her memory.

The best way to get to know Michelle Obama is to watch a video showing what she’s been up to:

Here’s a few remarks from Michelle’s speeches that you may want to know about as you listen to her DNC presentation:

“Sometimes it’s easier to hold onto your own stereotypes and misconceptions. It makes you feel justified in your ignorance. That’s America.” [Youtube].

And:

“Let me tell you something. For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback.” [Youtube].

And how could we forget the views she expressed to The New Yorker:

[Michelle] Obama begins with a broad assessment of life in America in 2008, and life is not good: we’re a divided country, we’re a country that is “just downright mean,” we are “guided by fear,” we’re a nation of cynics, sloths, and complacents. “We have become a nation of struggling folks who are barely making it every day,” she said, as heads bobbed in the pews. “Folks are just jammed up, and it’s gotten worse over my lifetime. And, doggone it, I’m young. Forty-four!”

And let us nor forget that Michelle and Barack – like many Americans – found themselves a church that represented their views about life and the world:

The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people,” he said in a 2003 sermon. “God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.”

In addition to damning America, he told his congregation on the Sunday after Sept. 11, 2001 that the United States had brought on al Qaeda’s attacks because of its own terrorism.

“We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye,” Rev. Wright said in a sermon on Sept. 16, 2001.

“We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost,” he told his congregation.

I’m sure many of you mothers can imagine the joy of taking your young kids to hear such sermons. If so, then Michelle will resonate with you.

There’s an amazing treasure trove of good old fashioned American spirituality to draw from in Barack and Michelle’s longtime pastor and spiritual mentor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

I hope this helped round out the DNC presentation.

I’m sure Michelle will mean to tell us tell us all this stuff about herself, but in all the excitement, she may forget. Don’t worry, Michelle; I’ve got your back!
