SECAUCUS — For the second time this week, the Walmart at Harmon Meadow plaza was evacuated Thursday afternoon after a bomb threat was called in to the store, police said.

Walmart shoppers and employees outside of the store after a bomb threat Thursday afternoon.
A caller phoned in the threat at 1:41 p.m., said Detective Sgt. Dominick DeGennaro of the Secaucus police. Store employees called police, and officers and firefighters searched the store without finding anything, DeGennaro said. The store was allowed to reopen after about an hour, he said.
A nearly identical scenario played out at the same Walmart store on Monday. About 700 people, including customers and employees, were evacuated after a threat was called in to the store at 1:45 p.m., police said.
In Secaucus on Monday, K-9 units from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office and the NJ Transit and Jersey City police searched the store for more than two hours before determining there was no bomb, authorities said. The store was allowed to reopen at 4:15 p.m., he said.
Authorities also searched for a link to at least a dozen similar threats that were called in to Walmart stores in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma over the weekend.
Who do ya think is behind these??? This is your cue to look in a mirror, point a finger at it, and say, “YOU are, you fascist scumbag!” at yourself, liberal.
Fascists Democrats are uniting behind their Fascist-in-Chief messiah. And they will either burn this country to the ground or we will take it away from them come November.
Democrats are people who demand a circular firing squad to kill any businesses that don’t tow their liberal line. They constantly seek to drive WalMarts out in spite of the tax base and jobs those stores create just as they sought to drive out Chick-Fil-A and literally state “We don’t need their tax dollars” in spite of the fact that each of those restaurants create nearly a hundred long-term jobs along with paying taxes to those cities. You’d think this was suicidal behavior, but it really isn’t for those who lead “the cause.” People like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton show up and rouse the rabble with their demagoguery, prevent a business from opening, get shake-down/extortion concessions for themselves in the form of “donations” to their causes in exchange for finally leaving, and then walk away from the communities that will now get NOjobs because of their “leadership.” In the case of Occupy, there is giant Soros money funding the cause. George Soros is a Nazi and an enemy of the United States and has always BEEN a Nazi and an enemy to the United States, but that doesn’t matter to these people. The organizers of those OWS protests get their Judas wages for sabotaging businesses and thereby sabotaging the communities that needed those businesses.
I mentioned Chick-Fil-A. Yes, the Democrat Party viciously attacked Chick-Fil-A in the form of three fascist Democrat Mayors who threatened that business with government power over daring to hold their own views whether those views are protected by the First Amendment or not. Yes, in response Chick-Fil-A benefited from the largest sales in their entire history as hundreds of thousands of people stood in line for as long as three hours to buy their products in response to that fascism. Yes, the left held their own day – a homosexual “kiss-in- that got virtually NOBODY to show up. But they did manage to pull off still another example of fascist liberal intolerance:
On a day that some gay-rights activists are planning a “National Same-Sex Kiss Day,” a Chick-fil-A in Torrance was vandalized overnight with hateful graffiti.
Chick-fil-A employees were greeted Fridays morning with the words “Tastes like hate” scrawled in large black lettering mimicking the chain’s advertising across the back wall of the restaurant at 182nd Street and Hawthorne Boulevard in Torrance.
With media helicopters hovering overhead and police officers on the scene, one employee said, “I’m just trying to sort everything out.”
Chick-fil-A has been at the center of media scrutiny and public debate ever since the company’s president publicly expressed his opposition to same-sex marriage.
On Friday, some gay-rights activists are encouraging same-sex couples to go one of the chicken restaurant’s locations and take a photo or video of themselves kissing.
It remains unclear whether this protest will generate the huge crowds that turned out Wednesday for “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day,” when tens of thousands waited through long lines in a show of support for the executive.
The privately held company declined to give specific sales figures but released a statement to the Los Angeles Times confirming that frenzied sales of chicken sandwiches and cross-cut waffle fries had made for a record-setting day.
“We are very grateful and humbled by the incredible turnout of loyal Chick-fil-A customers on August 1 at Chick-fil-A restaurants around the country,” said Steve Robinson, executive vice president of marketing, in the statement. “While we don’t release exact sales numbers, we can confirm reports that it was a record-setting day.”
Who pulled off that victory for liberalism? It was a fascist Obama-voting demon-possessed cockroach, that’s who it was.
By Friday afternoon reports from restaurants around the country showed the number of protesters was low compared to the hundreds of people from around the country who turned out Wednesday for a “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.”
It was of course hundreds of thousands of people nationwide, and “the number of [kiss-in] protestors was nonexistant in comparison. Not that the facts should actually matter or anything. “Facts” and “truth” and “reality” only matter to rightwingers, and if you care about such idiotic concepts you are a racist homophobic bigot.
We’re living in a day when Nazi Democrats like Harry Reid openly deploy Orwellian tactics to demonize their opponents. It doesn’t matter if Harry Reid refused in a vote to release his OWN damn taxes; it doesn’t matter if just a few weeks ago his president was protected by his party when Obama declared executive privilege and refused to provide ANY records surrounding the FACT that the Obama administration put 2,000 guns into the hands of Mexican drug cartel murderers who used those guns to murder at least one US Border Patrol Agent and which likely murdered an American ICE agent as well. How is it that Democrats can surround an act of clear presidential obstruction of justice on the one hand and then turn around and demand records right after refusing to allow any records to be turned over? And do so with such appalling pseudo-self righteousness?
“I don’t think the burden should be on me,” Reid said. “The burden should be on him. He’s the one I’ve alleged has not paid any taxes. Why didn’t he release his tax returns?”
Reid said, “the word’s out that he [Romney] hasn’t paid any taxes for 10 years.” The “word is out” because and ONLY because Harry Reid PUT the word out by making two false and recklessly unsubstantiated statements on the Senate floor while making numerous statements to the press.
This is the new system that Democrats are demanding: they get to make assertions with zero evidence documented by nothing. And the burden of proof is on whomever they accuse. That is pure Nazi bullshit and the Democrat Party is the Nazi Party unless and until they drive Harry Reid into retirement for crap like that. Every Democrat is a fascist for allowing a fascist like Harry Reid to remain in office.
It wasn’t a week ago now that the same Democrat president who was for gay marriage before he was against gay marriage before he was suddenly for gay marriage again pulled that same fascist hat-trick with guns. He joined the crowd of Democrat fascists in trying to take away our constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms. There is absolutely zero question that our founding fathers are firmly on one side and Democrats like Obama are on the other. And to whatever extent America is going-out-of-control with violence it is ONLY because Democrats have “fundamentally transformed” America into a moral cesspool with their evil fascist policies that revel in evil and oppose what is good.
But Obama wasn’t finished with fascism; he is NEVER finished with fascism. So the man who likes to call himself “the commander-in-chief” literally sued to keep the troops under him from being allowed to have a chance to vote his skinny fascist weasel ass out of office. You want to talk about “equal protection under the law?” I’M a victim of unequal protections; I have an ID legally issued to me by the government; the people that Obama and Holder demand be able to vote DON’T have such ID. I’m a US citizen; there’s no reason to believe that the people Obama and Holder demand be able to vote share that distinction. Barack Obama is a cynical fascist weasel who is trying to unconstitutionally stack the deck in his favor by rewarding illegal immigrants who vote overwhelmingly for him and punishing American soldiers who vote overwhelmingly AGAINST him.
All of that pure fascism happened in the Democrat Party between 7/27 and 8/3/2012. It is truly amazing how wicked this party has become.
Still another thing that has happened during that period has been the Democrat Party’s decision to make homosexuality part of their official party platform. Read Romans chapter 1 and tell me that the Democrat Party hasn’t just reached the very bottom of the moral sewer.
James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas exposed how easy it was for someone to walk in to a polling place and get Attorney General Eric Holder’s ballot, and now it has released another video that shows how easily non-citizens–and even dead people–can vote in North Carolina, a crucial 2012 swing state.
In the video, William Romero, an apparent non-citizen, is shown to be registered to vote in North Carolina. According to jury refusal records obtained by Project Veritas, Romero was recused for being a non-citizen. Yet when a researcher from Project Veritas went into the polling station, he found that not only was Romero still on the voting rolls but the poll workers were also more than willing to give him Romero’s ballot.
The video finds that another alleged non-citizen in Durham County, North Carolina, was on the voter rolls–and apparently voted in 2008 and 2010–even though he had been categorized as “code 7” in jury recusal forms, which means he had been excused as a non-citizen.
Project Veritas’s video also shows how easy it is for a person to obtain the ballot of a dead person, and features a potential election judge who says he will “mostly support the Constitution of the state of North Carolina” because he now thinks it encourages bigotry after the passage of Amendment One that banned gay marriage.
He jokes that “we need somebody to run over [Supreme Court Justice Antonin] Scalia,” and later jokes “you should get him and [Justice Clarence] Thomas at the same time.”
Later in the video, on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a student who tells a professor that he illegally voted in Ohio and North Carolina is told by the professor to hope “no one will figure that out,” as the professor laughs. Another person on the campus compares voting fraud to speeding.
These are yet more examples of how much the country would be well-served by voter-ID laws.
Obama is to “democratic voting” – defined as one person actually legally entitled to vote, one vote – what Hitler was to Judaism.
Voter fraud is real. And Democrats are the party of anti-democratic elections.
The following is being passed around the email world. But it’s interesting and it offers some important truths:
In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:
“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”
“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.”
The Obituary follows:
Born 1776, Died 2012
It doesn’t hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul , Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million McCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country. Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low-income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal’s – and they vote – then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.
If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.
If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.
This is truly scary!
Of course America is not a democracy, it is a Constitutional Republic.
Someone should point this out to Obama.
Of course we know he and too many others pay little attention to The Constitution.
There couldn’t be more at stake than on Nov 2012.
The email gives the die date of America at 2012 (assuming we re-elect Obama).
It may already be too late for America. Just as one can smoke tens of thousands of cigarettes and only quit smoking after one has already guaranteed contracting a lingering death by cancer, we may have already put ourselves into such a state of deficit and debt that we cannot recover no matter what we do now.
We are to a point when fully half the population pays absolutely no federal income taxes at all while demanding that the few who still DO pay taxes pay more and more and more of the burden.
“We are seven days away from an unprecedented financial event in this country’s history. One that could potentially put us towards a depression because the House Republicans, led by Speaker Boehner, are unwilling to compromise one inch.”
Let’s see. Get out my calender. There are 31 days in July. That means the date for the Great Depression begins …. tomorrow!
Vice President Joe Biden joined House Democrats in lashing tea party Republicans Monday, accusing them of having “acted like terrorists” in the fight over raising the nation’s debt limit.
Biden was agreeing with a line of argument made by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) at a two-hour, closed-door Democratic Caucus meeting.
“We have negotiated with terrorists,” an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.”
Biden, driven by his Democratic allies’ misgivings about the debt-limit deal, responded: “They have acted like terrorists,” according to several sources in the room.
But here we are. Tomorrow we go into the Great Depression according to the Obama position. Obama is either lying – which means he should be impeached – or he is pointing out that the Congress MUST agree to this deal that is now on the table or … we … will … all … PERISH.
75+ of the “Progressive Democrats”-AKA Socialist Faction of the Democrats in the HOUSE are outright saying they will NOT vote for the BIPARTISAN bill, along with the Democrat BLACK CAUCUS and then “Progressive Democrats” in the SENATE; so, where is that article CNN, ABC, CBS or MSNBC?
So there are just ALL KINDS OF TERRORIST DEMOCRATS who are voting to send America into the GREAT DEPRESSION – and that according to the Obama White House.
The Democrat Party has passed ZERO bills to save America from THE GREAT DEPRESSION. Barack Obama – who told us that we were in danger of the Great Depression if someone didn’t save us – offered ZERO leadership to SAVE US. And thank God for Republicans who actually passed THREE bills whose votes saved America from the Great Depression that terrorist Democrats (again, that according to the Obama White House) voted to plunge America into.
It never ceases to amaze me just how despicably dishonest and blatantly morally EVIL Democrats are. Democrat radical extremists outnumber the fringe Republicans at least a dozen to one, and yet these lying demonic hypocrites routinely demagogue the side of rationality as “extremists.”
I listened to Caifornia Democrat Rep. Karen Bass, who said the Democrat Party was planning to wait for the vote to begin because the Democrats want to see the Republicans have to stand up for this bill. That’s because Democrats are cowardly, slanderous, vile, backbiting, undermining, demagogic cockroach scum who live to let others lead so they can demonize them for trying to do the right thing.
[Update] As of this moment (3:53 PST), 129 Republicans have voted yes ON A BILL THAT WILL PREVENT THE GREAT DEPRESSION compared to 12 Democrats.
[Update 3:55 PST] Now it’s 137 Republicans wanting to avoid a Great Depression compared to 15 Democrats. 47 Democrats are terrorists who want to plunge America into the Great Depression.
[Update 3:59 PST] Now 148 Republicans are joined by only 19 Democrats who aren’t terrorists and who voted against the Great Depression.
[Update 4:00 PST] Gabrielle Giffords – who knows a thing or two about terrorism now – showed up to vote for the bill. Unlike most of her terrorist Democrat party.
[Update 4:02 PST] Now 153 Republicans who have voted not to have a Great Depression have been joined by only 19 Democrats.
Update 4:03 PST] 160 Republicans don’t want a Great Depression. Only 21 Democrats feel the same way so far. 57 Democrats are terrorists.
[Update 4:05 PST] 97 Democrats still haven’t voted, proving that what Karen Bass said was in fact correct; Democrats had a strategy to make sure their moral superiors voted and put themselves on the line.
[Update 4:06 PST] The vote just passed with overwhelming Republican support [i.e. Republicans who voted to save America from the Great Depression].
You want to see a terrorist? You want to see someone who wants a Great Depression? Just look at the Democrat Party.
The way Democrats held back on such a critical vote is simply cowardly beyond compare. If you are a Democrat, you are simply a craven human being.
We need moral courage and leadership now more than at any time in our nation’s history, and we have been cursed with Democrats. The Democrat Party has taken the spirit of its messiah, Barack Hussein Obama, who voted “present” 130 times as an Illinois Senator rather than stand up and LEAD. From the New York Times, December 20, 2007:
The record has become an issue on the presidential campaign trail, as Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, his chief rival for the Democratic nomination, has seized on the present votes he cast on a series of anti-abortion bills to portray Mr. Obama as a “talker” rather than a “doer.” [...]
An examination of Illinois records shows at least 36 times when Mr. Obama was either the only state senator to vote present or was part of a group of six or fewer to vote that way.
In more than 50 votes, he seemed to be acting in concert with other Democrats as part of a strategy.
“Obviously, she’s not happy with dealing with a president who can’t decide if today is Tuesday or Wednesday, who can’t make his mind up,” a Clinton insider told The Daily. “She’s exhausted, tired.”
Now consider the entire Democrat House of Representatives basically acting like 193 Obamas.
I’ve said it often before: this is God damn America. This is a leaderless, rudderless ship about to plunge into an iceberg and sink.
“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
And, of course, Americans DO deserve better. They deserve better than a hypocrite, a demagogue and a disastrous failure.
“America has a debt problem,” Obama said in 2006. That year, Republicans passed their last budget before losing power to Democrats until this year. It had a deficit of $161 billion. The next year the Democrats virtually tripled that deficit to $459 billion. And in two years of Obama it has soared to $3 TRILLION.
The AP correctly pointed out that “It was a blast by the freshman lawmaker against a Bush request to raise the debt limit to $8.96 trillion.”
It was a personal attack by an evil fool against a president which history now proves knew what he was doing versus the current moral idiot who clearly does not.
That’s right, boys and girls. The last time a Republican Congress passed a budget, it had a deficit of $161 billion. And Republicans have been doing mea culpas ever since about their fiscal recklessness. Meanwhile, the Democrats in Congress have heaped up $5.34 TRILLIONMORE in debt – and they do nothing but continue to point the finger at Republicans who actually spent less by a rather silly percentage.
This is a game that has to end. And now is frankly long past time.
I propose that we treat Obama as though he is/was a sane and honest human being and do what he said: Vote AGAINST the debt ceiling. Vote like Obama said we should vote. Otherwise we should frankly treat Obama as a dishonest fool who needs to resign in disgrace.
And any vote to increase the debt ceiling should be a) temporary (i.e., valid for no more than six months) and b) accompanied by spending cuts that exceed the amount of any increase.
Michelle Malkin has a way with words. Handle her wit with extreme care, because that sucker is razor sharp.
We were called “tea baggers” by journalists like CNN’s Anderson Cooper who masquerades as someone who is remotely objective. The word “tea baggers,” as Cooper made sure we understood, is a crude sexual reference to a rather disgusting act.
And, of course, we were also called “Astroturf” by liberals like Nancy Pelosi, which was an accusation that somehow we weren’t an authentic grass roots movement.
Now we’ve got liberal union thugs being bussed in to protest events from all over the country, and we get to see what morally intelligent people knew all along: that if you want to see actual Astroturf, look at the Democrats’ field.
And in honor of the 14 Wisconsin Democrats who actually fled the state so that democracy could not take place (well, unless showing up and voting is somehow the OPPOSITE of the democratic process), Michelle Malkin has coined a new term: “fleebaggers.”
First lady Michelle Obama said, “Let’s Move!” Who knew Democratic politicians in Wisconsin and Indiana would take her literally?
Faced with stifling debt, bloated pensions and intractable government unions, liberal Midwestern legislators have fled those states — paralyzing Republican fiscal reform efforts. Like Monty Python’s Brave Sir Robin and his band of quivering knights, these elected officials have only one plan when confronted with political hardship or economic peril: Run away, run away, run away.
Scores of Fleebagger Democrats are now in hiding in neighboring Illinois, the nation’s sanctuary for political crooks and corruptocrats. Soon, area hotels will be announcing a special discount rate for card-carrying FleePAC winter convention registrants. Question: Will the White House count the economic stimulus from the mass Democratic exodus to Illinois as jobs “saved” or “created”? More important question: How much are taxpayers being charged for these obstructionist vacations?
Voters have spoken: In Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio and across the heartland, they put Republican adults in charge of cleaning up profligate Democrat-engineered messes. Instead of defending their same old tax-hiking, union-protecting, spending-addicted ways, Democrats are crossing their state borders into big government sanctuary zones — screaming “la, la, la, we can’t hear you” all the way.
Wisconsin Democrats warned that their delinquent members — evading state troopers and literally phoning it in — could be gone “for weeks” to prevent a quorum on GOP Gov. Scott Walker’s modest plan to increase public union workers’ health insurance and pension contributions, end the compulsory union dues racket and rein in collective bargaining powers run amok.
Big Labor insists its intransigence isn’t about money, but about “rights.” But the dispute is about nothing but money and power — the union’s power to dictate and limit its members’ health insurance choices to a lucrative union-run plan, for example, which adds nearly $70 million in unnecessary taxpayer costs.
On Tuesday, only three of 40 House Democrats in Indiana showed up for legislative debate on a similar bill to end forced unionism and join 22 other “right to work” states. Hoosier media reported that some of the fugitive pols may be headed to Kentucky in addition to President Obama’s old political stomping grounds.
The White House and Beltway Democrats have paved the way for subverting deliberative democracy, of course. If only Republicans in Wisconsin and Indiana had followed the Obama/Pelosi/Reid model and rammed their behind-closed-doors-crafted legislative agenda through in the middle of the night on a holiday weekend, the Fleebaggers wouldn’t be on the lam today. But GOP legislators just don’t roll that way. It’s Democrats who cut and run — abroad in wartime and at home in crisis.
Almost eight years ago, more than 50 Texas Democratic state lawmakers holed up in Oklahoma and New Mexico for weeks to stymie a vote on Republican-sponsored redistricting plans they opposed. Over the past week, it was thousands of public school teachers in Wisconsin who faked illness and boycotted their classrooms. And it’s union henchmen calling out loud for statewide strikes to bring Republican reformers to their knees.
The Party of Truancy has become a laughingstock — and Americans aren’t waiting for left-wing late-night comedians to bring down the hammer of well-earned mockery. The Internet has lit up over the past week with “Wanted” posters and all-points-bulletin alerts for missing Democrats.
Note: Many of the loudest Washington and Hollywood critics of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s decision to resign from office in 2009 are themselves now AWOL on the Wisconsin and Indiana AWOL-ians. Who’s all for mocking “quitters” now? Anyone?
One mortified Wisconsin taxpayer speaks for many. “As the daughter of former Wisconsin Senate Minority Floor Leader William R. Moser (D-Milwaukee, Dist. 6),” Mary Magdalen Moser told me, she’s humiliated by the “flee-bagging” politicians. “I am ashamed of the actions taken by the minority party to subvert our system of government by boycotting its legitimate processes. Anarchy is undemocratic, and I know that my Dad is spinning in his grave right now. … I do not support refusing to participate, because that will not solve any of the issues facing our state.”
Remember the 2008 Democratic Party chant: “Fired up! Ready to go!” Well, there’s a new Democratic Party motto in town: “Ready to go? OK, then, let’s blow this pop stand!” It’s difficult to see how Obama and his absconder allies can “win the future” when they’re stampeding over each other to escape the present.
I remember not that long ago when liberals were actually tearing into Republicans merely for VOTING their consciences. How DARE they not support us in our hard-core liberal agenda that we rammed down their throats? Then it was un-American to show up to vote. As long as you were a Republican.
They sneered at us, “Elections have consequences. And you lost!” But as angry as we were about every trick in the book used to ram home a liberal agenda, we showed up every day to fight our cause.
Democrats abused their power. They abused the people’s trust. And they lost that trust massively as displayed in November.
Now, all of a sudden, elections SHOULDN’T have consequences. Now, all of a sudden, any vile dirty trick is fine as long as its liberals who get to play them.
The Democrats are now fleeing their states so they don’t have to attend to the democratic process of that state and do its business. They flee to other liberal states so that they won’t be sent back in handcuffs. If this were the national Congress, these Democrats would be fleeing to Cuba or North Korea or Libya where similar-minded dictators would welcome them as they turn their backs on democracy. That’s what the Democrat Party has degenerated to.
Principle means staying in the ring and fighting, even when the fight isn’t going your way. Just imagine if Republicans had decided that they didn’t want to play “democracy” any longer and fled town during the ObamaCare debacle. Imagine how they would have rightly been excoriated by the media!!!
Republicans in Wisconsin – and anywhere else Democrats play this un-American game of shutting down democracy by literally fleeing from their states like child molesters – need to first pass every non-budget item in their agenda. Every single one, such that they can set the Democrat Party in that state back 100 years for refusing to represent their constituents. And then they should strip the collective bargaining element of the budget out and then vote for it as a non-budgetary matter.
Of course, now that Democrats say it’s fine to shut down the government, now that Democrats say it’s fine to ignore democratic processes and simply run out of town, shutting down the government this way should become the new norm. The only reason this wouldn’t be the case is because Democrats are inherent childish hypocrites who damn others for doing what they did first. And America will therefore continue – led by vile Democrats – to degenerate. Democrats are like a giant reciprocating engine, whose every downward stroke and counterstroke inevitably drives the whole culture further and further down into the sewers of a banana republic.
Madison — As the budget stalemate drags on between unions and Gov. Scott Walker over his plan to repeal most public worker union bargaining rights, the National Guard has toured at least one state prison in recent days.
Last week, a half dozen National Guard members in plainclothes toured Redgranite Correctional Institution, said Lenny Wright, president of the AFSCME Local 281, which represents the prison’s correctional officers.
Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie initially said the National Guard had not visited Redgranite, but half an hour later confirmed it had happened. He described the visit as routine, saying unit commanders regularly visit prisons to understand how they operate.
“It wasn’t any specific contingency planning,” he said, referring to any possible strike.
Wright said prior to the tour he had already told the prison warden that his union local would not strike or have its members call in sick to disrupt security at the prison. But Wright said that the National Guard members had toured the prison with its security director and that he believed the purpose of the tour was to make sure the National Guard was ready to take over in the event of a strike.
“They were in plainclothes but they were there,” Wright said.
Daniel Meehan, president of the union local at Waupun Correctional Institution, said he’d heard the National Guard visited Redgranite and another facility in recent days.
Meehan said correctional officers – likely hundreds of them – would come to the Capitol in uniform to protest the bill. He said no officers would miss work for the protest, but those on vacation would come.
Walker has said that the National Guard is ready to deploy if needed to step in for essential public safety workers who don’t show up for their jobs. A spokeswoman for the state Department of Corrections could not be reached immediately Monday for comment.
Lt. Col. Jackie Guthrie, spokeswoman for the Wisconsin National Guard, said the National Guard does routinely visit Wisconsin prisons to prepare for providing “essential services” in the event of a work stoppage. Guthrie emphasized that Walker had not called up or deployed the National Guard.
Also on Monday, Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) threatened to force a vote soon on a bill that would require voters to show ID at the polls, in a move meant to lure Democrats boycotting the Senate back to Wisconsin.
The move is the latest pressure point Republicans are talking about pushing to end a standoff over a bill that would take away union rights from most public workers. Senate Democrats vacated to Illinois on Thursday to prevent a vote on the bill, and they’ve been there ever since.
The Capitol drama is moving into its second week, as protesters again fill the rotunda and Capitol grounds. Monday’s protesters were dominated by those opposed to the bill, after a weekend on demonstrations that also drew bill supporters to Madison.
While Fitzgerald raised the possibility of passing the photo ID bill, absent Senate Democrats have their own leverage against Republicans. The bill on union rights is included in a sweeping budget repair bill that also includes a $165 million bond refinancing that must be acted on by Friday to make sure the state meets its bills in the fiscal year that runs through June 30.
Without this refinancing element, the state would have to take other steps such as cuts to health care programs to keep its budget balanced this year. Walker and other leading Republicans are holding firm despite the deadline.
“Regardless of Friday’s deadline, Governor Walker is going to balance the state budget,” Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie said in a statement. “If Senate Democrats remain out of state-. . . it will force more aggressive and painful spending cuts in the very near future.”
On Tuesday, the Senate will vote on measures to honor the Green Bay Packers and extend a dairy and livestock tax credit. Fitzgerald said the ID bill could come another day if Democrats don’t return. Without Democrats present, the Republicans have enough members to be able to hold votes on non-financial bills but not on a fiscal bill such as a budget.
Republicans took control of the Legislature and governor’s office after the November elections, and they have widely been expected to pass the bill on photo ID. It is one of the more controversial measures that will be considered, and Democrats would want to show up to make their voices heard as the two sides disagree over the extent of voter fraud and the importance of preserving voter rights.
Republicans have 19 seats in the Senate, but 20 votes are needed for bills that spend money. As written, the photo ID bill would need 20 senators present because it spends money to provide free IDs and for other purposes. But Fitzgerald said the bill could be changed to take out the spending elements.
The Senate Committee on Transportation and Elections is slated to vote on the bill Tuesday after the Senate meets. Another committee is voting Tuesday to repeal a law that requires law enforcement officers to collect data on the race of drivers for every traffic stop. Democrats approved that requirement in 2009 to help determine if agencies are engaged in racial profiling.
Fitzgerald floated the idea of passing the photo ID bill to reporters after a tense meeting of the Senate Organization Committee, which sets the Senate schedule. Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller (D-Monona) and Sen. David Hansen (D-Green Bay) joined the meeting by phone from Illinois.
“You have shut down the people’s government and that’s not acceptable,” Fitzgerald scolded the Democrats.
There is a vile disease going on in Wisconsin that is actually far nastier than leprosy. It is called liberalism. It causes irrationality and the sufferer loses all moral intelligence. It is fatal to any society if enough people catch the contagion.
Here’s just one example out of hundreds: Oregon Democrat David Wu. But just about every Democrat has the Kool Aid Crazy disease.
And of course it’s not acceptable. These elected Democrats are undermining the democratic process. In a democratic republic such as we’ve had at least until the age of Obama, you show up and you vote. Democrats are undermining the democratic process and are in fact undermining the will of the people.
But there IS an upside to the Democrats being vile and un-American piles of slime. It gives Republicans a chance to pass a ton of stuff.
It will give Republicans their opportunity to pass my dream bill.
Let me put it this way: if Republicans take back the country, and use reconciliation to impose the “Hunt Every Democrat Down With Dogs and Burn Them Alive” Act, do you want Republicans to be able to justify their actions by quoting Barack Obama?
Mine is actually quite the impressive specimen, indeed. The breeder liked big Rotts. One of the three breeding males was “AKC”: 27″ at the shoulder and 125 lbs. The other two were huge, with one looking like a power forward or a middle linebacker, and the other looking like a St. Bernard with Rottweiler markings. I picked the middle linebacker sire, but he was bred with a big female, and my little pup actually grew bigger than the “St. Bernard” version: standing at nearly 32″ at the shoulder, actually standing a full 6′ tall on his hind legs and weighing in at in a healthy 185lbs. And he isn’t friendly to people we don’t want him to be frindly to. Not at all. You will walk away having wet your pants if you come to my door unannounced. And that’s if the door is CLOSED. You wouldn’t walk away at all if the door was open. We have signs, such as “Danger: Rottweiler on duty” and “I can make it to the fence in 2.8 seconds. Can YOU?” and “Kindly stay back – thereby refraining from donating your body parts to my dog” posted on the gate to make that point. The mail and parcel delivery people, the meter readers, etc. know and understand that the beloved family pet is not for strangers to pet. And he would love nothing more than to hear, “There’s one, boy – GO GIT ‘EM!”
Obviously, the Republicans aren’t actually going to pass the act I here jokingly suggest (and I’ll refrain from telling you if we’d actually show up for hunting season if they did). But the Republicans CAN pass A LOT of things that will make Democrats howl with outrage. And the funniest thing of all is that it will be their own damn fault that we passed them.
This isn’t polite and high-minded civil discourse, because Democrats are no longer the kind of people one can have such discourse with. As we see above, Democrats are now the kind of people who cheat and lie as a matter of routine. It is nothing short of a war for America. And it is long past time that Republicans understood that in this “game” there ARE no rules. If they firebomb your cities, you firebomb there cities until they are afraid to firebomb your cities any more. If they try to pass a “Fairness Doctrine” to limit conservative speech, you pass a Fairness Doctrine that will limit liberal speech; and then you monitor the airwaves for content and you yank the right to broadcast from any television station that doesn’t have as many conservatives for as much time as it has liberals. If they try to massively expand the size of government with programs like the trillion dollar stimulus and ObamaCare, then you abolish every government department and bureaucracy that you can and you shrink the size of government twice as much as liberals expanded it. You beat them like dirty rugs, because you know that’s exactly how they will treat you the first chance they get. And the more you do to them when you’ve got the power, the less they’ll be able to do to you when they get power back. And you fight them the same way they fight you.
And you keep fighting them that way until they maybe learn that Fairness Doctrines and trillion dollar stimulus and ObamaCare programs maybe aren’t such a good thing, after all.
If Democrats want to play their un-American games and start a war, then let Republicans finally play and fight to WIN.
Things are rapidly getting out of hand for ObamaCare.
The House just voted to repeal it with a bipartisan vote of 245-189 (with three Democrats joining all the Republicans).
For the record, the vote in favor of repealing ObamaCare was far higher than the vote to pass the damn thing (219 – barely above the minimum necessary for passage).
26 states are now officially on board with Florida to challenge ObamaCare in federal court. The Florida State Attorney General said last night on Fox News’ “Greta” program that 2 more states have promised that they will be on board, and she has been in talks with several other states.
More than half the states now want ObamaCare tossed into the trash where it belongs.
Democrats and the mainstream media have routinely sneered about what a useless and time-wasting “symbolic” gesture this vote was. One can only wonder: during the dark and dreadful reign of Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat majority during the last two years, more than 400 bills were passed that were not taken up in the Senate. And that was during a period in which Democrats RAN the Senate. Did the Democrats and the mainstream media come unglued over those “time wasting gestures”???? I don’t think so.
Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Douglas Elmendorf recently spoke at the University of Southern California about the economic impact of Obamacare. He predicts that Obamacare will further depress the nation’s employment picture.
CBO’s analysis of Obamacare predicts that it will reduce the amount of labor being used in the economy by roughly half a percent. Elmendorf states that this impact will be small, but in reality the impact is small only in relative terms. For instance, a half-percent loss in jobs in the American economy today would translate into about 750,000 additional Americans losing work.
Just as serious for the economy is the fact that Obamacare will cause significant job losses for the U.S. economy. A study by the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) found that the employer mandate could lead to the elimination of 1.6 million jobs between 2009 and 2014, with 66 percent of those coming from small businesses.
And the Democrats loaded up ObamaCare with so many faulty assumptions that the actual numbers of jobs destroyed will undoubtedly be worse.
“Or take the health care debate we’re presently having: members of Congress have recessed now so they can go home and “listen to their constituents.” An urge they should resist because their constituents don’t know anything.”
But even “stupid” people are smart enough to know that claiming that ObamaCare will ADD 35 million people to the health care rolls and actually cost LESS MONEY is itself a stupid claim. They may not understand just how despicably deceitful Democrats were in manufacturing the numbers to get the CBO score (such as taxing ten years and only giving benefits for 6 years; such as double counting savings from revenue sources such as Medicare and Social Security; such as imposing all kinds of taxes that nobody knew about when this monstrosity was passed; omitting the so-called “doctor fix”, etc.), but they know something is very wrong.
Nearly two-thirds of U.S. doctors surveyed fear healthcare reform could worsen care for patients, by flooding their offices and hurting income, according to a Thomson Reuters survey released Tuesday.
The survey of more than 2,900 doctors found many predict the legislation will force them to work harder for less money.
“When asked about the quality of healthcare in the U.S. over the next five years, 65 percent of the doctors believed it would deteriorate with only 18 percent predicting it would improve,” Thomson Reuters, parent company of Reuters, said in a statement.
The worm is indeed beginning to turn on ObamaCare, indeed.
If at first your act of national rape doesn’t succeed, rape, rape again.
House Democrats violated reconciliation rules in passing their health care destruction act; now they will have to go back and vote all over again.
With the kind of incompetence Democrats have displayed trying to impose their health care takeover, one has to wonder how the massive monster they’re voting on is any less incompetent.
I doubt if this will change the ultimate passage of the bill; it’s hard to imagine Democrats suddenly becoming anything other than fools. But at least it forces them to go on the record again. That will only increase the outrage heading into November.
Senate Republicans have succeeded in forcing Democrats to send the health reform reconciliation bill back to the House for another vote, after Senate parliamentarian Alan Frumin ruled early Thursday morning that two minor provisions violated the chamber’s rules and couldn’t be included in the final bill.
Democrats believe the provisions — technical changes to language about Pell Grants for low-income students – are so minor that they don’t threaten to derail the reconciliation package, which includes a series of fixes to the reform bill that has already been signed into law by President Barack Obama.
But clearly Democrats are anxious to put the health care voting behind them – given the painful history of the past year of close votes and near-death experiences on the bill – and want nothing to pop up now that could give them headaches.
It’s also possible that Republicans can force more changes to the bill when the Senate reconvenes at 9:45 a.m., with a vote on the bill scheduled for 2 p.m. It wasn’t clear early Thursday morning when the House would vote, but both chambers are anxious to wrap up business to get out of town for the two-week Easter recess.
All told, 16 lines of text will be removed from the 153-page bill to strip the Pell Grant language, Majority Leader Harry Reid’s spokesman Jim Manley told reporters as business on the Senate floor wrapped up early Thursday morning.
The House has already passed the reconciliation bill, on Sunday night when it approved the landmark health reform measure. But since the House and Senate must pass identical versions of the reconciliation bill to put the fixes into law, the reconciliation piece must go back to the House for a second vote.
And the reconciliation bill includes several provisions that are must-haves for House members, including eliminating the Cornhusker Kickback and other state-specific deals and putting off a tax on “Cadillac” insurance plans until 2018.
“We are confident the House will quickly pass the bill with these minor changes,” Manley said Thursday morning.
Democrats are going to say this is just a chintzy delay tactic, but that’s because they couldn’t care less about the will of the American people.
Here’s a snapshot of a CBS poll released yesterday that profoundly demonstrates that the American people want the Republican Party to keep fighting this hateful bill:
That’s close to an overwhelming 2-1 margin of Americans who want the Republicans to keep fighting to the last procedural tactic. And 41% of Democrats as well as 66% of Independents are on board with the GOP.
“The harsh fact of the matter is when you’re going to pass legislation that will cover 300 [million] American people in different ways it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people” – Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), known as “the dean of the House” for being the longest-serving member after taking over from his father in 1955.
We can look back at Democrats who pretty much acknowledge that Democrats have a total disregard for proper conduct or for ethics:
‘There ain’t no rules around here — we’re trying to accomplish something.’ And therefore, when the deal goes down, all this talk about rules, we make ‘em up as we go along…” – Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL), a disgraced federal judge who was impeached by a vote of 413-3 for taking bribes.
We can look back at Democrats ackowledging their complete lack of integrity and their apalling inability to stop their reckless spending:
Bad partisan ideologues passed a terrible piece of ideological legislation to take power over the people, uncaring of how much it cost or how many ethical and procedural standards had to be violated.
The $300 billion “doctor fix” has nothing to do with health care because it would explode the totally bogus myth that the Democrats’ health plan is somehow “deficit neutral.” But now the Democrats are throwing in their student loan takeover to try to sweeten the pot for hesitant Democrats in the House.
Mitch McConnell put what is going on into proper perspective:
“It’s a very bad idea. We now have the government running banks, insurance companies, car companies, and now [the Democrats] want to take over the student loan business. I’m not sure the public thinks the current debate is about that issue, and it would show again the lengths they are willing to go to have the government expand its tentacles into absolutely everything.”
So why don’t we go ahead and rename the Democrats “health care” boondoggle for what it really is: the Government Tentacle Expansion Act.
BRETT BAIER: Bill, now Speaker Pelosi has talked about putting in student loans, a change to the student loan program in the vote for health care reform.
What about that? This is the student loan legislation that would end private lender’s involvement in the original student loans and the Department of Education would essentially take over?
BILL KRISTOL: Yes, the government would be the direct loaner to the students. Well that passed the House by a larger margin last year. So they are adding something that they think is more attractive to try to bring home few extra members to the bill.
It shows how unpopular this bill is. It is jaw dropping to step back from the day-to-day thing. A year into president’s top agenda health care is the Democrats favorite issue. They have had 30 point margins on it in polls over the Republicans for the last 15 years basically.
And as this debate has gone along this bill has become so unpopular and toxic that they now can’t pass it through a normal conference committee. They can’t have a normal situation where each house passes its own bill and get together and have a compromise. They have to pass the Senate bill or nothing because they’re terrified to go to conference.
They are now terrified to let the members go home for Easter recess before a vote, so they are going to — the president is delaying his trip so they can jam the vote in at the end of next week, they hope by one or two vote margin. It’s really stunning.
Bottom line: the people – who are now opposed to ObamaCare by a 3-1 margin – don’t want the government to take over our health care system. And the Democrat leadership is literally afraid to let the Congress go home for Easter recess and hear what their constituents have to say before a vote, lest they respect the will of the people and vote against this monstrosity. And so, as Obama postpones his foreign trip, the leadership is trying to overcome opposition to ObamaCare by offering as an inducement yet ANOTHER Democrat big government takeover, this time of the student loan system.
President Obama’s approval has sank to an all time low of 46% in the Gallup poll as he has determined to impose his health care boondoggle on the American people who do not want it. The Hill points out that this “demonstrates that the healthcare debate has taken a toll on Obama’s approval numbers.”
A new poll released by the Associated Press finds that the American people overwhelmingly want the Republicans involved with any health care overhaul, rather than having an ideological Democrat boondoggle rammed down their throats:
More than four in five Americans say it’s important that any health care plan have support from both parties. And 68 percent say the president and congressional Democrats should keep trying to cut a deal with Republicans rather than pass a bill with no GOP support.
And only 27 percent of voters want to see ObamaCare rammed down the nation’s collective throat.
Fifty-seven percent (57%) of voters say the health care reform plan now working its way through Congress will hurt the U.S. economy.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 25% think the plan will help the economy. But only seven percent (7%) say it will have no impact. Twelve percent (12%) aren’t sure.
Two-out-of-three voters (66%) also believe the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats is likely to increase the federal deficit. That’s up six points from late November and comparable to findings just after the contentious August congressional recess. Ten percent (10%) say the plan is more likely to reduce the deficit and 14% say it will have no impact on the deficit.
Underlying this concern is a lack of trust in the government numbers. Eighty-one percent (81%) believe it is at least somewhat likely that the health care reform plan will cost more than official estimates. That number includes 66% who say it is very likely that the official projections understate the true cost of the plan.
Just 10% have confidence in the official estimates and say the actual costs are unlikely to be higher.
Seventy-eight percent (78%) also believe it is at least somewhat likely that taxes will have to be raised on the middle class to cover the cost of health care reform. This includes 65% who say middle-class tax hikes are very likely, a six-point increase from late November.
A few quotations from Ronald Reagan are in order here:
“Government is not a solution to our problem, government is the problem.”
“The federal government has taken too much tax money from the people, too much authority from the states, and too much liberty with the Constitution.”
“Nations crumble from within when the citizenry asks of government those things which the citizenry might better provide for itself.”
“As government expands, liberty contracts.”
“Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.”
“No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.”
“Are you entitled to the fruits of your labor or does government have some presumptive right to spend and spend and spend?”
“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.”
The American people have overwhelmingly shouted – and there have been three big statewide elections in states that voted big for Obama to prove that the polls are correct – that they don’t want a government takeover. And how do Democrats respond? By offering another government takeover (of the student loan system) as an inducement for Democrats to vote for the government takeover of health care.
