Liberal Unions Are Profoundly UnAmerican. Just Ask FDR.

Public sector unions love putting themselves first and the people they are supposed to serve dead last.

And yes, I DO mean “dead” last.  Unions have an interesting history of violence and murder.

Here’s the latest example of public sector unions acting like swine:

The state’s largest teachers union Wednesday night called on all 98,000 of its members to attend rallies in Madison on Thursday and Friday, which led school districts — including Madison — to cancel classes for Thursday.

“This is not about protecting our pay and our benefits,” Wisconsin Education Association Council President Mary Bell said at a press conference on the Capitol Square. “It is about protecting our right to collectively bargain.”

In an interview, Bell said her message stopped short of endorsing the kind of coordinated action that closed Madison schools Wednesday. She asked teachers who “could” come to the rally to come.

And, of course, it’s not about their bennies and their perks.  Because these dear government teachers would walk neck deep in snow uphill both ways to teach your darling children.  It’s about a sacred principle.

Yeah, right.  Just how stupid are we supposed to be?

Those wonderful public school teachers.  They don’t care if the children they’ve been misteaching for thirty years can’t read.  What’s important is their swollen pensions that are bankrupting America one city, one county, one state and one country at a time.

If they actually give a fig about the children they constantly claim they give the slightest damn about, maybe they could, oh I don’t know, TEACH THEM.

But I’m afraid that the right to collective bargaining is far more important than your little dears, good people of Wisconsin.

Among the rioting government-sector union emloyees are prison guards.  Newly elected Republican Governor Scott Walker was forced to call in the National Guard because these dedicated prison guards cared so much about the sacred right to collective bargaining for even MORE cushy government benefits that DOUBLE workers in the private sector that they abandoned their posts and put the people at risk of inmates escaping.  And, of course, being dishonest demonizers right down to the pits of their tiny shriveled little cockroach souls, the left accused Governor Walker of creating a Nazi police state for calling in the Guard.  Because, apparently, keeping murderers and rapists from escaping prison is a “Nazi” thing to do.  And letting murderers and rapists go is the virtuous thing to do, according to this despicable mindset.

Public unions and the Democrats who support them are profoundly unAmerican.

But don’t believe me.  Just ask former Democrat President Franklin Delano Roosevelt:

February 10, 2010
Even FDR Was Wary of Public Employee Unions
Marc Comtois

This article by Rich Lowry and this piece in the Wall Street Journal both alluded to Franklin Roosevelt’s wariness towards public employee unions. I was surprised. So I dug around and found one source that supports this claim. In a letter to a public employee union, Roosevelt explains that, yes, they do have a right to organize, but there are some restrictions:

All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management. The very nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with Government employee organizations. The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress. Accordingly, administrative officials and employees alike are governed and guided, and in many instances restricted, by laws which establish policies, procedures, or rules in personnel matters.

Well, that hasn’t really come to pass now, has it?

Particularly, I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place in the functions of any organization of Government employees. Upon employees in the Federal service rests the obligation to serve the whole people, whose interests and welfare require orderliness and continuity in the conduct of Government activities. This obligation is paramount. Since their own services have to do with the functioning of the Government, a strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government until their demands are satisfied. Such action, looking toward the paralysis of Government by those who have sworn to support it, is unthinkable and intolerable. It is, therefore, with a feeling of gratification that I have noted in the constitution of the National Federation of Federal Employees the provision that “under no circumstances shall this Federation engage in or support strikes against the United States Government.”

Interesting that he viewed strikes by Federal employees in such a way.

Public unions bargain and organize against the American people, and against their country.   Who employs them?  Who do they “collectively bargain” against?  The people, and the well-being of the people.  They seek to undermine the efforts of the government to serve the people, and instead of serving the people advance their own interests ahead of the people’s.  They make a mockery of John F. Kennedy’s famous words, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”

And public school unions are even worse; because not only do they bargain against the American people and against their country as they strive to screw taxpayers for still more totally unsustainable benefits while doing a truly suck job at their jobs, but they stab our children right in their minds.

    Hello Michael,

I know you said you sent the paperwork on Feb. 5, but today is the 18th and it still has not arrived. Perhaps it got lost in the mail? It is possible. Would you be willing to fill out the form again? I can send it to your e-mail address. What do you think?

I am sorry to be a pest, but we have been trying to pay you since last September, and our department needs to resolve this soon. Anything you can do to expedite things is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you so much!

    Michael,

Thanks for another great informative analysis of this disgusting display in WI. As I watch this unfold on the news I can’t help but think of the 20% unemployed (which is the real number) in our country and how quickly they would move to take over the jobs from these self serving spoiled pieces of crap and I’ talking about the Law makers, guards, teachers and anyone else who decided it was more important to protest instead of go to work. Not withstanding the fact that most if not all the people protesting that are public employees, really do very little in the way of improvement even when they do go to work. Public sector jobs have always been for the under achievers in our country. They follow their leadership like lemmings and rarely think for themselves. I think the resolution to this current disgusting event and any others to come along in the future as it relates to public employees protesting for their jobs would be to fire all involved much like Reagan did to the Air Traffic Controllers. Unfortunately, we have a little worm called Obama in the White House and worms don’t have a backbone.

Thank you for your comment and explaining the facts, James.

The other thing I’d add to your words is the fact that government workers don’t contibute to the tax rolls; they FEED OFF the tax roles. We pay our taxes so an elite class of bureaucrats can have TWICE the wages and benefits that we get for doing the exact same jobs. And then our tax dollars go to fund the Democrat Party so they can pass an un-American agenda. Big labor money is TEN TIMES anything conservatives have in special interests. And again, the most disgusting thing of all is that it’s our own damn money that is being used to attack the private sector workers who paid it in taxes.

    Michael:
While you may have serious disagreements with President Obama, democrats and liberals, your malevolent, name-calling diatribes – (“this guy’s [Obama’s] pathologically and malingnantly [sic] narcissistic ego.”) — only prove that you can’t engage in any type of “religion-friendly view” as you put it. Your website is filled with so many unfounded, venomous accusations that it calls into question your mental stability or your age. There’s nothing friendly or religious about you. In short, Michael, you are a pseudo-intellectual, rightwing demagogue posing as someone who thinks he knows what he’s talking about. But what you really do is promote hatred. And your attempts to turn one American against another is un-American. Why don’t you drop the adolescent name-calling and attempt to make your arguments based on reason supported either by facts or logical arguments? Try it. You may find it more satisfying than your pubescent tantrums. And, as a technical matter, if you’re going to pose as some sort of essayist, try to learn to spell words like “malignant.” You misspelled it.

Wow. I promote hatred. And of course I get nothing but blissfully sweet love and tolerance from you, jkscores.

This is the thing about you people. You are so full of hate it is positively unreal. You come on to my blog, lecture me for name calling because you are a self-righteous pompous ass to the nth degree, and then you proceed to tell me that I’m mentally unstable, that I’m the worst insult to religion, that I’m stupid, that I’m immature, etc. But aren’t you calling all kinds of names? Aren’t you coming here and doing the very thing that you tell me is so wrong, so mentally insane, so immature, etc., to do???

Oh, no. Because that would make you the lowest form of hypocrite cockroach imaginable, wouldn’t it?

So I call names, but what you do is clearly nothing like what you say I do. Because it’s righteous when a liberal calls a conservative evil, stupid, insane, etc. It’s only wrong when a conservative does the same thing to a liberal. Isn’t that right, you vile hypocrite????

You say, “Why don’t you drop the adolescent name-calling.” Well, dang, dude, WHY DON’T YOU???

I’m not going into YOUR house and screaming hate. You’re coming into MY house and attacking ME and screaming hate. While amazingly calling me the hater the entire time you’re doing it!!!

What you are doing is a microcosm of what the left did to the Tea Parties for two miserable years. You demonized them and demonized them for being so hateful and so violent, when in fact it turns out (just look at Wisconsin) that they don’t even begin to hold a candle to your leftwing hate and violence. But the fact that you people are liars and hypocrites doesn’t faze you at all; you just keep it up like no one notices that you scream one thing and then do the exact opposite.

Let me go further with the fact that you are the lowest form of hypocrite, though. Where were you during the eight years of Bush-derangement syndrome? Where were you when your fellow liberals accused Bush of being Hitler and a war criminal and saying no blood for oil? Where were you? Where were you when this was going on? Where were you when this was going on? You were fine with that because you’re nothing but a posturing leftwing ideologue who gores everyone else’s ox and then gets outraged when your ox gets gored.

I wrote an article titled, “Do Unto Obama What Liberals Did Unto Bush.” And I stand by every word. Because people like you – who will sanctimoniously lecture us “rightwing demagogues” for all of our negativity will turn into frothing-at-the-mouth rabid dogs the moment the shoe is on the other foot. And you don’t have the moral intelligence or the shame to either know or care.

If I’m going to pose as an essayist, I probably should figure out how to get the spell check back that I had on my other computer running Windows. If it helps you to believe that you’re mentally superior because I spelled a word wrong, knock yourself out. Please put a big rock in your hand when you do it.

Now that I’ve said this, I’ll go ahead and block you.

Because I’m not through with describing what a hypocrite turd you truly are: in addition to the above, you criticize me for not having “arguments based on reason.” And all you did was come to my blog with a series of extremely hateful personal attacks. As though your frothing, rabid hatred of me and of conservatives is somehow a “reasoned argument.” You never once bothered to refute a single thing I said; you never bothered – other than my spelling of the word “malignant” – to correct a single fact; you never try even so much as ONCE to demonstrate that one of my conclusions somehow didn’t follow from my premises. And yet you have the unmitigated hypocrite GALL to attack me for not having “arguments based on reason.” Because, again, as a liberal you feel no obligation whatsoever to do the very thing you condemn me for not doing, do you, you hypocrite?

I ban people who begin a conversation with hate-filled personal attacks. People like you – and thank you for your corrected spelling – are “malignant.”
