This is absolutely bizarre to me.
Barack and Michelle Obama had a poetry night at the White House. Among the invited honorees was a rapper named “Common” who has actually celebrated two different CONVICTED cop murderers.
Again, not just ONE cop murderer, but TWO:
- Assata Shakur, also known as Joanne Chesimard, was convicted for the 1973 slaying of Trooper Werner Foerster. She escaped prison and fled to the communist nation Cuba, where “Common” actually went to visit her prior to his “A Song for Assata.”
- Mumia Abu-Jamal, who was convicted of the 1981 murder of Philadelphia Police Department Officer Daniel Faulkner.
Two murdered police officers. Two convicted cop killers. And the man who celebrated those cop killers was personally invited by the Obamas for a reading of his “poetry” in the White House.
The garbage excuses I have heard from Democrats are absolutely incredible. As genuinely depraved as I believe Democrats are, they never cease to surprise me with their moral depravity.
The latest defense was offered by Jon Stewart – and of course immediately picked up as a talking point by the left. I blocked someone as a lying vermin, and he posted back with – of course – Jon Stewart’s talking point. Said talking point is that if you exclude “Common” for celebrating cop killers, you must also discard any invite of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Bono.
What is interesting about this assortment of singers is that the above list consists of – in order from above – 1) a left wing radical; 2) a hard-core Democrat; and 3) a liberal.
Let’s take Bono – who apparently wrote a song called “Native Son” about an American Indian named Peltier who killed two FBI agents – first:

The politician is already an avowed fan of the band, recently telling Rolling Stone magazine that U2 is on his iPod playlist. Bono attended the Democratic convention in Denver last week where he heard two U2 tracks, “City of Blinding Lights” and “Beautiful Day,” bookend Obama’s acceptance speech early on Friday. “Beautiful Day” was also the musical backdrop a night earlier when Obama introduced Senator Joe Biden, his nominee for vice-president, to the Denver crowd.
Oh, yeah, that one sure puts us conservative Republicans to shame. He’s clearly one of our guys, right? I mean, we’re responsible for this guy, right?
Oh, that’s right: WRONG!!!
I’m not going to bother to see if Bono was ever invited to attend anything during the Bush presidency, but if he was, I’ll bet you it was because of his humanitarian efforts, rather than because of his songs.
Then there’s Bruce Springsteen. I don’t know what cop killer this turd eulogized, and I really don’t care. But here’s the skinny on him:

How about Bob Dylan?
Well, according to Democrat Underground:
“Joan Baez spoke of Dylan’s liberal political bend in “No Direction Home.” He was not a conservative.”
Then there’s such lines as this one from Dylan:
As Bob Dylan sang, “I’m liberal but to a degree. I want everybody to be free. But if you think I’m going to let Barry Goldwater move in next door to me and marry my daughter you must think I’m crazy . . .”
And Goldwater, of course, was the Republican nominee who was destroyed by the famous/infamous 1964 “Daisy” ad (you know, the ad by Vietnam warmonger Lyndon Johnson that implied Goldwater was a warmonger).
So Dylan was really just a garden variety liberal: he was the kind of hypocrite who was liberal, and therefore tolerant of everybody and everything but people he disagreed with like conservatives. Then the intolerant hater burst out of his chest like that creature from Alien.
So I can draw two conclusions from this: 1) if you sing songs celebrating cop murders, YOU ARE A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT. And 2) Democrats are so insane that they actually justify Obama inviting a rapper who celebrates two cop murderers by citing three other liberals who also seem to have celebrated cop killers.
Only a Democrat is morally sick and psychologically irrational enough to see the reason in this defense.
Allow me to also point out that this black president who made sure we all understood that “the Cambridge police acted stupidly” (conclusion determined after stating he didn’t know any of the actual facts) invited a black man who eulogized two Black Panthers who both murdered WHITE police officers.
Also allow me to point out that there is a direct link between Barack Obama and “Common”: both were members of Jeremiah Wright’s demonic racist and un-American church.
Here is Trooper Werner Foerster, who was MURDERED by Assata Shakur:
And here is Philadelphia Police Department Officer Daniel Faulkner, who was murdered by Mumia Abu-Jamar.
Take a good look at these two white men who were murdered by Black Panthers as they tried to do their duties maintaining the thin blue line between civilization and total anarchy and mayhem. And tell me how you would feel about a president inviting a singer who wrote songs celebrating the murders of two BLACK police officers by two convicted white Ku Klux Klansmen who were nobly fighting for “white justice,” or “white power,” or “the cause,” or however the hell you want to phrase it to make it like “Common’s” eulogies. Because THAT is EXACTLY what we have in the case of two Black Panthers murdering two white police officers.
Hey, how about if your next president invites a singer who soulfully and spiritually eulogizes James Earl Ray – the “so-called” but actually innocent man convicted of the murder of Martin Luther King??? Here’s an article from – you guessed it, Democratic Underground – saying James Earl Ray is innocent. Hey, why not celebrate him as some kind of hero?!?!?!
If you are a Democrat, and you are not personally ashamed of your Disgrace-in-Chief, you are simply a cockroach masquerading as a human being.

Ignorance. Regardless of WHY Bono was at the White House in October of 2005, he WAS there! Common was not invited because he wrote songs/poems about cop killers, just as Bono was not. Common is quite the humanitarian (not on Bono’s level though).
Don’t you right wing whack jobs have more important things to do than critique who was invited to the White House by the First Lady? Go back to wishing for Reagan 2.0 (who, by the way…was all of the following (1.) A union leader (2.) An FDR Supporter, voted for him 4 times (3.) NOT as fiscally conservative as you remember. He passed laws to TRIPLE contributions to SS and passed measures to raise taxes on the wealthy in his first term. (4.) So NOT Republican that even his own son conceded he wouldn’t get the Republican nomination if he were to have run in 2008.

Decent article for the background, but please state all the facts next time, sir. She was not a member of the Black Panthers at the time of Trooper Werner Foerster murder. The facts show she did not kill the trooper, but she was in the car with the killer so she was an accessory.
To call her a Black Panther is akin to calling Malcom X a hater of white people when he died.

Hi there,
Just saw your post here, and wanted to mention that you are misunderstanding the argument that Mr. Stewart made. He is not saying that Bono and Dylan are conservatives, or that they are good people. He is not even saying that Common is a good person. All he is saying is that Fox News is hypocritical, because they chose to become outraged about Common’s visit to the White House, when everybody knows that Fox News would *not* have become outraged if Bush invited Bob Dylan, or Bono, to the White House. Even though Bono wrote a song sympathizing with a guy who was convicted of killing 2 law enforcement agents. Therefore, Fox’s outrage is selective, and is triggered only when they have a target, like Obama, who they wish to “go after.” Let Bush do the same thing, and Fox News wouldn’t have made a peep.
So, maybe that is helpful to you, I don’t know. It’s not an argument that supports Common. It’s an argument that points out that Fox News is full of crap. That’s all.

Okay, I shall stand corrected. At the time of murder of Trooper Foerster, Assata Shakur was a member of the Black Liberation Army (BLA) and no longer a member of the Black Panther Party.
If that is an important distinction, I’ll give you credit for pointing it out.
My main point remains quite unchanged: Assata Shakur partipated in the murder of a white police officer as a member of a racist black radical group.

George Bush invited a liberal hater to the White House because said liberal hater has also done a great deal of good in humanitarian causes.
That said, 1) liberal hater Obama merely invited a fellow liberal hater. And 2) How many millions has Common raised for humanitarian causes again? You yourself are forced to acknowledge that Bono is on a very different level. And let’s also not forget that, again, like most other true haters, Bono is a liberal. So I will simply take your decrying of Bono being invited to the White House as your own testimonial to the fact that NO liberal ought to ever be allowed to set foot in the White House. Jim, let’s see who’s misunderstandting Jon Stewart.
Consider Stewart’s “logic.” First he wants to say “Fox News” is hypocritical. He tried to paint all of Fox News with the same brush, because apparently Glenn Beck is one 12 hours a day, and then Sean Hannity takes over for his 12 hour shift. That is a complete load of crap. When Bill O’Reilly said, “Stick with me,” there wasn’t a single thing Stewart could claim that O’Reilly did. I say that having watched the interview.
Fox News has FAR more liberals on their broadcast than all the other news stations have conservatives COMBINED. Both sides of view get presented as a matter of routine. Apparently neither you nor Jon Stewart can handle that. You just want that good old fashioned leftwing propaganda.
Fox News routinely has liberals such as Bob Beckel, Kirsten Powers, Juan Williams, Shepard Smith, Alan Colmes, Geraldo, Evan Bayh, Ed Rendell and a whole bunch of others on the air. So people like you hear that the conservative in the discussion said one thing, and conveniently forget that the liberal got to present the other side. This is something that people like you would never allow on the “news” that you watch. So somehow on your and Jon Stewart’s warped view, a news station that offers both sides of a debate is “hypocritical,” while all the other “news” stations that only rigidly adhere to the Democrat talking points are not.
The second thing comes back to what I said about Bono, Springsteen and Dillon all being leftists. Why couldn’t Jon Stewart have found us a nice CONSERVATIVE eulogizer of cop killers? Oh, that’s right; BECAUSE THERE AREN’T ANY!!! So Stewart’s example isn’t much different than my saying “Democrats are hypocrites because they tolerate their own Democrat politicians being criminals (which is true, btw). I’m getting really tired of the argument “they invited Johnny Cash, and look at HIS lyrics!”
Yes, please do.
People like to cherry-pick lines from Cash, such as “I shot a man in Reno [just to watch him die],” to paint him as some kind of artistic sadist whose on par with Common (whether artistically or sadistically, I’m not sure). But those people fail to read/listen to Cash’s lines in the context of the entire song. Know where the narrator in “Folsom Prison Blues” is? In prison. Because he shot said person in Reno. And, according to the song, he’s suffering emotionally just about every minute of it.
The same goes for other songs of his with such gruesome subject matter, like “Delia’s Gone.” In this song, the narrator describes how he brutally murdered a woman. Know to whom he’s telling this? A jailer. And how has this all affected our narrator? “…I can’t sleep / ’cause all around my bedside / I hear the patter of Delia’s feet…” Again, we come across a violent narrator who has been emotionally devastated by his actions.
What do we get from Johnny Cash (at least, with these songs)? Simply put: ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES.
But what makes Cash so wonderful with his songs is that he gives us the context of what his narrators are going through as well as the changes they’ve felt. Unlike Common, who uses vague controversial references to stir up hate, Johnny Cash gave us narrative lessons of brutal (and, for many other songs, not so brutal) people so that we can, at the very least, learn a little something from them

(N*ggas Wit Attitudes) , whose songs actually do glorify killing of cops, notably “F*ck Tha Police”, was invited to a White House luncheon on behalf of Senate Leader Bob Dole (R-Kansas) , and Senator Phil Gramm (R-Texas). Eazy-E had contribute d $2,490 to the GOP at the urging of Sen. Gramm as part of a anti-censo rship movement.
This was under George Bush’s watch. Why wasn’t Eazy E stopped? Why hasn’t this been spoken about?

I came across a site that describes this donation and the contribution that puts things into perspective.
A few things come out of this:
George Bush did NOT invite him. And Eazy-E certainly was NOT invited because of his “lyrics” – UNLIKE “COMMON WHO WAS SPECIFICALLY INVITED BECAUSE OF HIS LYRICS. Rather, Eazy-E was invited because of a check he wrote. And he went to an event at which George Bush was present. So between the fact that he was NOT the specially invited guest of the Bush’s, and the fact that he was NOT invited because of his “poetry” are two rather huge differences, if one cares about facts.
A couple other ones. “Eazy-E” was NOT a member of the same church that George Bush attended for 23 years, was he? Doesn’t the fact that Barack Obama spent all those years in a poisonous, racist, anti-American church mean anything? It would if you and your ilk had any kind of moral sense at all. “Common” isn’t just one out of about a hundred thousand people who get invited to a White House; he was an honored guest of the Obamas, and a guy who shared the same pew in a demonic “church.” Big differences.
Then there’s the fact that this guy “Common” – very much unlike Eazy-E and Bush – shares Obama’s worldview. I am 99.9% certain that the Republicans who invited the guy had no idea who the hell he was. And the media jumped all over it to attack Republicans at the time (which is how you know about it, btw). Obama, by contrast, knew exactly who “Common” was.
And lastly, there’s the little factoic that “Common” was eulogizing two very real people who were both really convicted of the real murders of two very real police officers. Again, to a person with moral intelligence, that “real world” thing makes a lot of difference. People have written fiction novels where lots of people died; it’s quite different than actively rooting for Adolf Hitler who really murdered millions of people.
And, like “Dude what are you talking about,” it’s kind of funny how you end your comment with ” Why hasn’t this been spoken about?” when you and every other leftwing loon is out there repeating the talking point.
Now, I just listed a bunch of very substantial differences. I can point out STILL MORE.
This WAS “spoken about,” as I document. It was spoken about at the time. The media used it to slime Republicans, which completely disproves your bogus assertion, doesn’t it. And do you know who was legitimately outraged by it, as opposed to the mainstream media that were just looking for a way to attack Republicans??? That’s right, “The Dude” – it was CONSERVATIVES JUST LIKE ME. Which is to say that we are morally consistent – something your ilk will never be. Why does it matter WHY these people were invited? Are you really that dense? So it’s ok to for George Bush to invite Bono (who wrote a song about a cop killer) to the White House because he’s a humanitarian but it’s not ok for Obama to invite Common (who wrote a song about a cop killer) to the White House because he’s not a humanitarian (or at least as big of one as Bono.) Your logic is failed. Nothing you’re saying even makes sense.

Let’s try this again:
first of all, the people that Bush invited were all LIBERALS. George Bush did not invite redneck racists, did he? THAT would be the first equivalent. Imagine the uproar had GWB invited a Ku Klux Klansman singing songs about killing blacks.
Second, go ahead and denounce Bush for inviting Bono. JUST MAKE SURE YOU DENOUNCE OBAMA FOR INVITING COMMON!!!
One of the things I also demonstrated in my comments was that there were people who DID denounce Bush for invites. And that they were conservatives who were being morally consistent!!!
I would also say that when somebody has done as much good as Bono has in the humanitarian realm, most moral people are more willing to overlook their other imperfections. I think one distinction that needs to be made (that, to my recollection, hasn’t been addressed) in this issue about Bono’s invitation vs. Common’s invitation is the issue of purpose. Bono was invited by Bush SPECIFICALLY because of his humanitarian efforts, while Common was invited SPECIFICALLY because of his poetry.
If Bono had been invited because of HIS lyrics, then people like Josh (and others who make this argument) would, I feel, be correct in their criticism, and vice versa for Common.
But no, Common was invited specifically because of his poetry and his status as a modern-day poet, and that is the criteria with which we should work in judging this situation. And that is why I view this whole situation as either (AT BEST) a mind-boggling gaffe on the part of the Obama Administration, or another telling instance of the kind of people we’re dealing with in the White House.

I actually DID point that out in one of my comments above, but liberals have a tendency of simply ignoring the stuff they don’t like and fixating on the moral equivalence that seems to define them (i.e., if Bush did something, then it’s wrong to criticize Obama for doing worse).
In the article itself, I wrote, “I’m not going to bother to see if Bono was ever invited to attend anything during the Bush presidency, but if he was, I’ll bet you it was because of his humanitarian efforts, rather than because of his songs.”
In a subsequent comment regarding a DIFFERENT liberal rapper, I pointed out that “George Bush did NOT invite him. And Eazy-E certainly was NOT invited because of his “lyrics” – UNLIKE “COMMON WHO WAS SPECIFICALLY INVITED BECAUSE OF HIS LYRICS. Rather, Eazy-E was invited because of a check he wrote.”
But you are entirely correct. Bush invited Bono A) who is a LEFTIST B) for his humanitarian work. So by liberal moral “logic” it therefore is okay for liberal Obama to invite A) a man who shares Obama’s radical worldview and who literally went to the same demonic church B) specifically as a “poet” for his “poetry.”

You seem to be making this argument about something that it’s not. The point is, those three guys wrote songs about “cop-killers” and you wouldn’t bat an eye if they were invited to the White House, nobody would. But when it’s some guy you haven’t heard of, you decide to write an entire article about it. Next time, talk to your parents and make sure you understand what the person your criticizing is saying. As one example of your outright lies as I scanned down the page, blaming the black plague on Christianity is both morally and factually loathsome. The Roman world had already experienced a terrible plauge (the Antonine Plague) during the reign of a very good albeit non-Christian emperor Marcus Aurelius. Are you going to blame that plague on Christianity even though neither the emperor or the empire was NOT Christian at that point, or are you going to blame it on the fact that neither the emperor or the empire wasn’t Christian??? If you had an honest bone in your body and applied your “logic” consistently, you would be forced to conclude that the Antonine Plague during the reign of Marcus Aurelius on a non-Christian empire was because the people were NOT Christian. Unfortunately history has already shown us that the dark ages were considered dark because of the mass destruction of books and educational material. The destruction was wrought by Christians who were, in essence, trying to ‘save’ the world by taking away the world’s choices in belief systems. This is not up for debate. It is fact.
I know I’m a few years late to the party, but I just wanted to stop and say what a turd I think you are. I won’t point out the many instances in which you try to prove points using logical fallacies or in which you debase yourself or stoop to levels you claim you won’t stoop to. I won’t point out the many instances in which you call another a hypocrite while you are being one as well…the hypocrisy is just too much. It’s nonsense. You will simply try to disprove my points using the same logical fallacies you’ve been using all along, the cycle will repeat. I’m a fool for even thinking what I have to say matters 3 years after you wrote this post.
I ignore political parties because of blogs like this and the extremist ideals held by the people who are in the parties. I think you all have fair points, you all have intelligent people backing you, and you’re all liars and hypocrites and idiots at times too. There is no right or wrong when it comes to one political party because you all dabble in both so much it’s hard to tell good from evil.

Secondly, to the VERY limited extent that the term “Dark Ages” has ANY accuracy whatsoever, you ignorant fool, understand that two events happened in the history that everybody but YOU understands: 1) the world entered an ice age that showed how ignorant you liberal fools are when it comes to whining about global warming: because the Roman Empire FLOURISHED during warming that is a fair degree WARMER than the world is now, and in fact humanity struggles during ICE AGES and not warming periods. That Ice Age led to the collapse of the Roman Empire as increasing numbers of barbarian peoples migrated to warmer regions as it became too cold for them to survive. And they began to increasingly pressure Rome until Rome collapsed. Which put the world into a vacuum that THE CHURCH FILLED BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING BUT THE CHURCH TO FILL IT.
Rome collapsed. THAT is a fact. And there was nothing left but barbarian peoples and the Church who first preserved pretty much ALL the classical period and philosophy and civilization and second ultimately brought LIGHT to the darkness of barbarism by converting the murderous barbarian peoples who had invaded the Roman world.
I also mock you for our outright hypocrisy. Listen to you whine as you create your straw man of me saying, “My way or the highway, I’m right you’re wrong.” And then listen to you rant at me up the moment before you demonize me for daring to have my own opinion that differs from yours. You are the very worst thing that you try to say of me. What do you say of me? You call me a “turd” AND a “hypocrite” when you have already documented that you are a hypocrite without shame. If it’s so wrong for me to have my views, why is it so right for you to have yours apart from the fact that you are a bigot filled with hate and contempt for anyone who doesn’t think like YOU do??? You characterize me as “evil” and yourself as “good”. And what are your damn facts that you offer as you tell me how wrong I am? ZERO. You have your worthless OPINION and the world doesn’t agree with it so the world is wrong.
