Democrats Actually CONTINUE To Defend Cop Killer-Celebrator ‘Common’ Invite To White House

This is absolutely bizarre to me.

Barack and Michelle Obama had a poetry night at the White House.  Among the invited honorees was a rapper named “Common” who has actually celebrated two different CONVICTED cop murderers.

Again, not just ONE cop murderer, but TWO:

  • Assata Shakur, also known as Joanne Chesimard, was convicted for the 1973 slaying of Trooper Werner Foerster.  She escaped prison and fled to the communist nation Cuba, where “Common” actually went to visit her prior to his “A Song for Assata.”
  • Mumia Abu-Jamal, who was convicted of the 1981  murder of Philadelphia Police Department Officer Daniel Faulkner.

Two murdered police officers.  Two convicted cop killers.  And the man who celebrated those cop killers was personally invited by the Obamas for a reading of his “poetry” in the White House.

The garbage excuses I have heard from Democrats are absolutely incredible.  As genuinely depraved as I believe Democrats are, they never cease to surprise me with their moral depravity.

The latest defense was offered by Jon Stewart – and of course immediately picked up as a talking point by the left.  I blocked someone as a lying vermin, and he posted back with – of course – Jon Stewart’s talking point.  Said talking point is that if you exclude “Common” for celebrating cop killers, you must also discard any invite of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Bono.

What is interesting about this assortment of singers is that the above list consists of – in order from above – 1) a left wing radical; 2) a hard-core Democrat; and 3) a liberal.

Let’s take Bono – who apparently wrote a song called “Native Son” about an American Indian named Peltier who killed two FBI agents – first:

Bono fans fill Obama coffers
The presidential hopeful has found just what he’s looking for in U2 devotees as they swell his campaign reserves
Times, August 30, 2008
By: Colin Coyle

One is charismatic, plays to packed stadiums and wants to change the world. The other is Bono. Now a group of U2 fans, struck by the parallels between Barack Obama and the Irish rock star, have become one of the U.S. Democratic presidential nominee’s most enthusiastic band of supporters.

U2 fans for Obama, a collection of 103 U2 devotees, has raised almost $18,000 (EU12,200) for the presidential hopeful’s campaign and organised more than 600 events to date.

The group, whose website and blog are linked to the presidential candidate’s official homepage, believe that “since Bono can’t run for U.S. president, Obama is the next best thing”. Their blog declares that members “see in Obama a progressive Christian who embodies the ideas and sentiments…so compelling in U2’s music.”

The politician is already an avowed fan of the band, recently telling Rolling Stone magazine that U2 is on his iPod playlist. Bono attended the Democratic convention in Denver last week where he heard two U2 tracks, “City of Blinding Lights” and “Beautiful Day,” bookend Obama’s acceptance speech early on Friday. “Beautiful Day” was also the musical backdrop a night earlier when Obama introduced Senator Joe Biden, his nominee for vice-president, to the Denver crowd.

Oh, yeah, that one sure puts us conservative Republicans to shame.  He’s clearly one of our guys, right?  I mean, we’re responsible for this guy, right?

Oh, that’s right: WRONG!!!

I’m not going to bother to see if Bono was ever invited to attend anything during the Bush presidency, but if he was, I’ll bet you it was because of his humanitarian efforts, rather than because of his songs.

Then there’s Bruce Springsteen.  I don’t know what cop killer this turd eulogized, and I really don’t care.  But here’s the skinny on him:

‘The Boss’ would hire Obama for the top job
Rock star Bruce Springsteen endorses the Illinois Democrat. Clinton wins over salsa artist Willie Colon.
April 17, 2008|Johanna Neuman and Noam N. Levey | Times Staff Writers

Bruce Springsteen, the poetic rocker whose lyrics have chronicled the hardships of working-class Americans in struggling factory towns, on Wednesday endorsed Barack Obama for president.

The support that the music star known as “the Boss” threw behind the Illinois senator was a highlight of a relatively quiet day on the campaign trail, as Obama and rival Hillary Rodham Clinton prepared for Wednesday night’s Democratic debate in Philadelphia.

Okay, that’s two scratched off the list of three.

How about Bob Dylan?

Well, according to Democrat Underground:

“Joan Baez spoke of Dylan’s liberal political bend in “No Direction Home.” He was not a conservative.”

Then there’s such lines as this one from Dylan:

As Bob Dylan sang, “I’m liberal but to a degree. I want everybody to be free. But if you think I’m going to let Barry Goldwater move in next door to me and marry my daughter you must think I’m crazy . . .”

And Goldwater, of course, was the Republican nominee who was destroyed by the famous/infamous 1964 “Daisy” ad (you know, the ad by Vietnam warmonger Lyndon Johnson that implied Goldwater was a warmonger).

So Dylan was really just a garden variety liberal: he was the kind of hypocrite who was liberal, and therefore tolerant of everybody and everything but people he disagreed with like conservatives.  Then the intolerant hater burst out of his chest like that creature from Alien.

So I can draw two conclusions from this: 1) if you sing songs celebrating cop murders, YOU ARE A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT.  And 2) Democrats are so insane that they actually justify Obama inviting a rapper who celebrates two cop murderers by citing three other liberals who also seem to have celebrated cop killers.

Only a Democrat is morally sick and psychologically irrational enough to see the reason in this defense.

Allow me to also point out that this black president who made sure we all understood that “the Cambridge police acted stupidly” (conclusion determined after stating he didn’t know any of the actual facts) invited a black man who eulogized two Black Panthers who both murdered WHITE police officers.

Also allow me to point out that there is a direct link between Barack Obama and “Common”: both were members of Jeremiah Wright’s demonic racist and un-American church.

Here is Trooper Werner Foerster, who was MURDERED by Assata Shakur:

And here is Philadelphia Police Department Officer Daniel Faulkner, who was murdered by Mumia Abu-Jamar.

Take a good look at these two white men who were murdered by Black Panthers as they tried to do their duties maintaining the thin blue line between civilization and total anarchy and mayhem.  And tell me how you would feel about a president inviting a singer who wrote songs celebrating the murders of two BLACK police officers by two convicted white Ku Klux Klansmen who were nobly fighting for “white justice,” or “white power,” or “the cause,” or however the hell you want to phrase it to make it like “Common’s” eulogies.  Because THAT is EXACTLY what we have in the case of two Black Panthers murdering two white police officers.

Hey, how about if your next president invites a singer who soulfully and spiritually eulogizes James Earl Ray – the “so-called” but actually innocent man convicted of the murder of Martin Luther King???  Here’s an article from – you guessed it, Democratic Underground – saying James Earl Ray is innocent.  Hey, why not celebrate him as some kind of hero?!?!?!

If you are a Democrat, and you are not personally ashamed of your Disgrace-in-Chief, you are simply a cockroach masquerading as a human being.

  1. Wiser Than You Says:

Ignorance. Regardless of WHY Bono was at the White House in October of 2005, he WAS there! Common was not invited because he wrote songs/poems about cop killers, just as Bono was not. Common is quite the humanitarian (not on Bono’s level though).

Don’t you right wing whack jobs have more important things to do than critique who was invited to the White House by the First Lady? Go back to wishing for Reagan 2.0 (who, by the way…was all of the following (1.) A union leader (2.) An FDR Supporter, voted for him 4 times (3.) NOT as fiscally conservative as you remember. He passed laws to TRIPLE contributions to SS and passed measures to raise taxes on the wealthy in his first term. (4.) So NOT Republican that even his own son conceded he wouldn’t get the Republican nomination if he were to have run in 2008.

Trickle down economics is wrong. Does not work for 97% of Americans. The last 30 years has shown us that. Wake up people! Thinking RIGHT is going to kill America

  2. Says:

nothing but bigoted remars from a racest

  3. D Lock Says:

Decent article for the background, but please state all the facts next time, sir. She was not a member of the Black Panthers at the time of Trooper Werner Foerster murder. The facts show she did not kill the trooper, but she was in the car with the killer so she was an accessory.
To call her a Black Panther is akin to calling Malcom X a hater of white people when he died.

  4. Jim Masterson Says:

    Hi there,
Just saw your post here, and wanted to mention that you are misunderstanding the argument that Mr. Stewart made. He is not saying that Bono and Dylan are conservatives, or that they are good people. He is not even saying that Common is a good person. All he is saying is that Fox News is hypocritical, because they chose to become outraged about Common’s visit to the White House, when everybody knows that Fox News would *not* have become outraged if Bush invited Bob Dylan, or Bono, to the White House. Even though Bono wrote a song sympathizing with a guy who was convicted of killing 2 law enforcement agents. Therefore, Fox’s outrage is selective, and is triggered only when they have a target, like Obama, who they wish to “go after.” Let Bush do the same thing, and Fox News wouldn’t have made a peep.
So, maybe that is helpful to you, I don’t know. It’s not an argument that supports Common. It’s an argument that points out that Fox News is full of crap. That’s all.

  5. Michael Eden Says:

    D Lock,

Okay, I shall stand corrected. At the time of murder of Trooper Foerster, Assata Shakur was a member of the Black Liberation Army (BLA) and no longer a member of the Black Panther Party.

If that is an important distinction, I’ll give you credit for pointing it out.

My main point remains quite unchanged: Assata Shakur partipated in the murder of a white police officer as a member of a racist black radical group.

  6. Michael Eden Says:

You are so ignorant you can’t even spell the hateful labels you want to assign to me, so begging your pardon but I think I’ll take my criticisms from someone who is less obviously profoundly ignorant.

It’s funny how I point out the blatant white-hating racism that just got invited to the White House. And I’m called a racist for pointing out the racism.

  7. Michael Eden Says:

    More Foolish Than Everybody,

I already established that Bono was a guy on the left. sO It was a leftist hater like YOU who sang the song about the killer of the FBI agents. Let’s establish that first.

George Bush invited a liberal hater to the White House because said liberal hater has also done a great deal of good in humanitarian causes.

That said, 1) liberal hater Obama merely invited a fellow liberal hater. And 2) How many millions has Common raised for humanitarian causes again? You yourself are forced to acknowledge that Bono is on a very different level. And let’s also not forget that, again, like most other true haters, Bono is a liberal. So I will simply take your decrying of Bono being invited to the White House as your own testimonial to the fact that NO liberal ought to ever be allowed to set foot in the White House. Because even the “good” ones like Bono are still simply vile people. Thank you for your contribution.

I find your next remark typically self-refuting: “Don’t you right wing whack jobs have more important things to do than critique who was invited to the White House?” And my response is, Why shouldn’t I? YOU CLEARLY DON’T!!!

As another example of the oxymoronic nature of your self-title, I think I’ll argue economic policy on an article HAVING ANYTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH ECONOMIC POLICY.

  8. Michael Eden Says:

Jim, let’s see who’s misunderstandting Jon Stewart.

Consider Stewart’s “logic.” First he wants to say “Fox News” is hypocritical. He tried to paint all of Fox News with the same brush, because apparently Glenn Beck is one 12 hours a day, and then Sean Hannity takes over for his 12 hour shift. That is a complete load of crap. When Bill O’Reilly said, “Stick with me,” there wasn’t a single thing Stewart could claim that O’Reilly did. I say that having watched the interview.

Fox News has FAR more liberals on their broadcast than all the other news stations have conservatives COMBINED. Both sides of view get presented as a matter of routine. Apparently neither you nor Jon Stewart can handle that. You just want that good old fashioned leftwing propaganda.

Fox News routinely has liberals such as Bob Beckel, Kirsten Powers, Juan Williams, Shepard Smith, Alan Colmes, Geraldo, Evan Bayh, Ed Rendell and a whole bunch of others on the air. So people like you hear that the conservative in the discussion said one thing, and conveniently forget that the liberal got to present the other side. This is something that people like you would never allow on the “news” that you watch. So somehow on your and Jon Stewart’s warped view, a news station that offers both sides of a debate is “hypocritical,” while all the other “news” stations that only rigidly adhere to the Democrat talking points are not.

The second thing comes back to what I said about Bono, Springsteen and Dillon all being leftists. Why couldn’t Jon Stewart have found us a nice CONSERVATIVE eulogizer of cop killers? Oh, that’s right; BECAUSE THERE AREN’T ANY!!! So Stewart’s example isn’t much different than my saying “Democrats are hypocrites because they tolerate their own Democrat politicians being criminals (which is true, btw). And then I offer as “proof” the names of a bunch of scumbag Republican politicians. It just kind of makes the whole argument fall apart. If you’re going to try to show that an allegedly pro-conservative outfit is bad, at LEAST offer me conservative villains. Whatever you do, do NOT criticize the right by offering up a bunch of nasty leftists as examples.

That said, there is something called “Bush derangement syndrome.” Somehow, the mainstream media spent eight years coming completely unglued over Bush. They STILL blame Bush for everything three years after he’s left office. But you only want to look at Fox News for not attacking Bush??? Which is to say that in calling out Fox News as “hypocrites,” JON STEWART is the hypocrite for not pointing out how profoundly and terribly biased the rest of the news is.

There is also the fact that I’ve already pointed out repeatedly that Bono – who again is a leftist – was NOT invited for his “music,” his “lyrics,” or his “poetry. He was invited strictly because of his rather substantial humanitarian efforts. As opposed to Common, who shares Obama’s vile leftwing ideology, who literally sat in the same racist anti-American demonic “church” with the guy, and who was there PRECISELY BECAUSE of his “poetry”/”lyrics.”

Let’s just accurately call what you’re doing for what it is: MORAL EQUIVALENCE. It is the tactic of moral idiots to use in place of moral reasoning.

You people ought to be ashamed of yourselves. But in order to BE ashamed of yourselves, you have to first have to have the capacity for shame which you clearly lack.

  9. Voice of Reason Says:

Let’s not forget the President Bush Jr. awarded Johnny Cash with the Medal of National Arts. Johnny Cash deserved it. Good for him.

Here is Mr. Cash performing “I shot a man in Reno to a packed Folsom Prison”. LOVE that picture btw.

“If you are a Democrat, and you are not personally ashamed of your Disgrace-in-Chief, you are simply a cockroach masquerading as a human being.”

WOW. You really HATE Americans who hold different political opinions then you don’t you? Although I believe you’re terribly misinformed and wrong, I would never stoop to such over the top drama queen language.

It’s always funny to me that Right Wingers are “pro guns” because you never know when you might need to revolt and keep the government in check right? But hate Black Panthers because they exercised their right to bare arms and used them for EXACTLY how they and the constitutional article that permits them intended. Black Panthers were patriots, unlike the spineless police force who oppressed them.

Our country was systematically racist and the police that enforced the system ABUSED African Americans. IF Assata and Mumia did shoot those cops, chances are they did it in defense like countless other people who died under the force of a police baton or fire arm SHOULD have done.

  10. Voice of Reason Says:

Please excuse the typos. I’m typing an essay and using my break to reply to this ridiculous forum.

Just thought of another interesting choice for a White House guest…

Eazy “Mothafuckin” E and “NWA” aka “NIGGAS WITH ATTITUDE.

Do you remember the president who had these fellas’ over for tea and prime rib?

The Right Wing Messiah himself Ronald Reagan. And again, I RESPECTED Reagan for that.

^That was one of few things I respected him for though, because his dumb ass policies ravaged my already economically destitute community and introduced crack cocaine via Iran Contra.

Who cares though? All presidents have fratenized with questionable people. Bush and the Bin Ladens were family friends. All presidents shook hands and had lunch with Henry Kissinger and Robert Mcnamara (war criminals). Both of those guys would make the hardest gangster rapper like Eazy E blush.

  11. Michael Eden Says:

    Voice of Self-Congratulatory Insanity,

How many of these individuals that Ronald Reagan and George Bush invited to the White House celebrated cop killers?

We’ve got Bono from U2, who – as I documented – is a guy on the left. And Bush had him over because of his humanitarian efforts.

What is funny here – to the extent that having a dialogue with a moral idiot is funny – is that with the possible exception of Johnny Cash (who wrote that song when, in the 1950s?) ALL YOU PEOPLE’S EXAMPLES ARE LEFTWING LOONS. And whereas Common was invited BECAUSE of his vile “lyrics,” the people that that Reagan and Bush invited were either invited in spite of them, or in an attempt to reach out to the left. Reagan and Bush didn’t invite rightwing haters to their White House because the true haters are invariably on the left. And you yourself are an excellent example of that fact.

You are doing an excellent job proving my thesis which you should clearly be agreeing with: liberals are simply moral cockroaches masquerading as human beings.

Every single one of the people you are citing are leftists. Hate police? Celebrate their murders? We can know one thing about you: you are a liberal.

If you have any love for this country, or even for civilization itself, the murder of a police officer rises to a different level. Because law enforcement is what keeps us from the Watts Riots, or the LA Riots, or the New York Riots, or just plain anarchistic violent looting and rioting in general being the norm for virtually every square mile of this nation until it implodes and a dictator takes over.

You call yourself the “voice of reason,” but your “logic” couldn’t be more twisted. The right to bear arms was hardly intended to assist in the violent overthrow of the United States, which is what fascists like the Black Panthers and yourself would use it for. The Black Panthers, and the Black Liberation Army (the other racist group that Assata Shakur belonged to) basically wanted to bring the terrible tragic violence that plagued Africa and continues to plague Africa to this nation. And as imperfectly as our police may have been, I’ve got to say that they’ve done a DAMN site better than African nations like Rwanda and a million dead in a single genocide among dozens of other genocides.

You call yourself the “voice of reason,” but when you write, “IF Assata and Mumia did shoot those cops, chances are they did it in defense like countless other people who died under the force of a police baton or fire arm SHOULD have done,” you are the voice of nihilism and anarchy. And, oh yeah, that topped any harsh “drama queen” sentiment of mine. Without any question. In your own words in expressing your statement, that was not the product of reason, but rather the vile faith product of a twisted obscene hate.

You call me a hater, but YOU prove that you are a hater of America and everything that it stands for. And as a former police officer myself, I’ll be blocking you from this point.

  12. RS Says:

I’m getting really tired of the argument “they invited Johnny Cash, and look at HIS lyrics!”

    Yes, please do.

People like to cherry-pick lines from Cash, such as “I shot a man in Reno [just to watch him die],” to paint him as some kind of artistic sadist whose on par with Common (whether artistically or sadistically, I’m not sure). But those people fail to read/listen to Cash’s lines in the context of the entire song. Know where the narrator in “Folsom Prison Blues” is? In prison. Because he shot said person in Reno. And, according to the song, he’s suffering emotionally just about every minute of it.

The same goes for other songs of his with such gruesome subject matter, like “Delia’s Gone.” In this song, the narrator describes how he brutally murdered a woman. Know to whom he’s telling this? A jailer. And how has this all affected our narrator? “…I can’t sleep / ’cause all around my bedside / I hear the patter of Delia’s feet…” Again, we come across a violent narrator who has been emotionally devastated by his actions.

What do we get from Johnny Cash (at least, with these songs)? Simply put: ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES.

But what makes Cash so wonderful with his songs is that he gives us the context of what his narrators are going through as well as the changes they’ve felt. Unlike Common, who uses vague controversial references to stir up hate, Johnny Cash gave us narrative lessons of brutal (and, for many other songs, not so brutal) people so that we can, at the very least, learn a little something from them

  13. Dude what are you talking about Says:

George Bush invited Republican and police-bashing rapper Eazy-E from NWA to the White House, and not a peep was heard

  14. The Dude Says:

On March 18, 1991, Eric “Eazy E” Wright, member of gangsta rap group N.W.A. (N*ggas Wit Attitudes) , whose songs actually do glorify killing of cops, notably “F*ck Tha Police”, was invited to a White House luncheon on behalf of Senate Leader Bob Dole (R-Kansas) , and Senator Phil Gramm (R-Texas). Eazy-E had contribute d $2,490 to the GOP at the urging of Sen. Gramm as part of a anti-censo rship movement.
This was under George Bush’s watch. Why wasn’t Eazy E stopped? Why hasn’t this been spoken about?

  15. Michael Eden Says:

I appreciate that comment. Something called “context” actually matters. Usually missing from liberals’ thought.

I’ve never been a Johnny Cash fan, so I didn’t know that. Thanks for the comment!

Btw, there’s another major difference between Cash and “Common.” Cash was singing songs about fictiticious people; “Common” sings songs about real people who murdered REAL police officers.

  16. Michael Eden Says:

Dude what are you talking about,

    You say,

George Bush invited Republican and police-bashing rapper Eazy-E from NWA to the White House, and not a peep was heard

    And I ask,

Then why on earth do you and everybody else even KNOW about it now, much less raise it as an issue???

Which is to say, oh yes a peep certainly WAS heard.

And it turns out that that peep was made by conservatives and Republicans who OPPOSED it. Which is to say that we were being consistent. The same people who made an issue about it back then are the same people who are making an issue about it now.

This appears to be the major difference between conservatives and liberals. We conservatives ACTUALLY HAVE A SENSE OF MORALITY AND TAKE A MORAL STAND.

Amazingly, you liberals CONTINUE to justify the invitation of this piece of filfth to the White House.

  17. Michael Eden Says:

    The Dude,

I came across a site that describes this donation and the contribution that puts things into perspective.

Eazy-E’s status as a controversial figure took an unusual turn when he accepted an invitation to a lunch benefitting the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle hosted by President George Bush in March of 1991, a little less than a year after conservatives had deemed his music obscene in Florida. Since his presence among the right-wing politicians struck the media as somewhat absurd, the event was reported across the country over the next 24 hours.

Not surprisingly, Eazy-E found it necessary to explain in a brief television interview that his invitation was the result of a $2,500 campaign contribution, which he had made to a Republican politician who stood against censorship. Although this made the point that freedom of speech debates cut through party lines, the rapper’s appearance among the Republican powers still left many of his fans ill at ease, since Bush’s economic policies generally were not seen to be promoting the welfare of inner-city African-Americans. When Eazy-E spoke with Light about the incident that year, he denied any allegiance to the G.O.P. “How the f—can I be a Republican when I got a song called ‘F—tha Police’?” he asked.

A few things come out of this:

George Bush did NOT invite him. And Eazy-E certainly was NOT invited because of his “lyrics” – UNLIKE “COMMON WHO WAS SPECIFICALLY INVITED BECAUSE OF HIS LYRICS. Rather, Eazy-E was invited because of a check he wrote. And he went to an event at which George Bush was present. So between the fact that he was NOT the specially invited guest of the Bush’s, and the fact that he was NOT invited because of his “poetry” are two rather huge differences, if one cares about facts.

A couple other ones. “Eazy-E” was NOT a member of the same church that George Bush attended for 23 years, was he? Doesn’t the fact that Barack Obama spent all those years in a poisonous, racist, anti-American church mean anything? It would if you and your ilk had any kind of moral sense at all. “Common” isn’t just one out of about a hundred thousand people who get invited to a White House; he was an honored guest of the Obamas, and a guy who shared the same pew in a demonic “church.” Big differences.

Then there’s the fact that this guy “Common” – very much unlike Eazy-E and Bush – shares Obama’s worldview. I am 99.9% certain that the Republicans who invited the guy had no idea who the hell he was. And the media jumped all over it to attack Republicans at the time (which is how you know about it, btw). Obama, by contrast, knew exactly who “Common” was.

And lastly, there’s the little factoic that “Common” was eulogizing two very real people who were both really convicted of the real murders of two very real police officers. Again, to a person with moral intelligence, that “real world” thing makes a lot of difference. People have written fiction novels where lots of people died; it’s quite different than actively rooting for Adolf Hitler who really murdered millions of people.

And, like “Dude what are you talking about,” it’s kind of funny how you end your comment with ” Why hasn’t this been spoken about?” when you and every other leftwing loon is out there repeating the talking point.

Now, I just listed a bunch of very substantial differences. I can point out STILL MORE.

This WAS “spoken about,” as I document. It was spoken about at the time. The media used it to slime Republicans, which completely disproves your bogus assertion, doesn’t it. And do you know who was legitimately outraged by it, as opposed to the mainstream media that were just looking for a way to attack Republicans??? That’s right, “The Dude” – it was CONSERVATIVES JUST LIKE ME. Which is to say that we are morally consistent – something your ilk will never be. We stand up for what’s right, and we stand against what’s WRONG. Something your kind will never begin to ever understand.

  18. Josh Says:

Why does it matter WHY these people were invited? Are you really that dense? So it’s ok to for George Bush to invite Bono (who wrote a song about a cop killer) to the White House because he’s a humanitarian but it’s not ok for Obama to invite Common (who wrote a song about a cop killer) to the White House because he’s not a humanitarian (or at least as big of one as Bono.) Your logic is failed. Nothing you’re saying even makes sense.

  19. Michael Eden Says:

I can’t believe I have to keep explaining that there’s a difference betweet fantasy and real life.

    Let’s try this again:

first of all, the people that Bush invited were all LIBERALS. George Bush did not invite redneck racists, did he? THAT would be the first equivalent. Imagine the uproar had GWB invited a Ku Klux Klansman singing songs about killing blacks.

Second, go ahead and denounce Bush for inviting Bono. JUST MAKE SURE YOU DENOUNCE OBAMA FOR INVITING COMMON!!!

One of the things I also demonstrated in my comments was that there were people who DID denounce Bush for invites. And that they were conservatives who were being morally consistent!!!

I would also say that when somebody has done as much good as Bono has in the humanitarian realm, most moral people are more willing to overlook their other imperfections. But apparently, you’re not one of them. You are one who believes firmly that no matter how much good one has done, he or she should still be demonized, and that there is no such thing as “redemption.”

  20. RS Says:

I think one distinction that needs to be made (that, to my recollection, hasn’t been addressed) in this issue about Bono’s invitation vs. Common’s invitation is the issue of purpose. Bono was invited by Bush SPECIFICALLY because of his humanitarian efforts, while Common was invited SPECIFICALLY because of his poetry.

If Bono had been invited because of HIS lyrics, then people like Josh (and others who make this argument) would, I feel, be correct in their criticism, and vice versa for Common.

But no, Common was invited specifically because of his poetry and his status as a modern-day poet, and that is the criteria with which we should work in judging this situation. And that is why I view this whole situation as either (AT BEST) a mind-boggling gaffe on the part of the Obama Administration, or another telling instance of the kind of people we’re dealing with in the White House.

  21. Michael Eden Says:

I actually DID point that out in one of my comments above, but liberals have a tendency of simply ignoring the stuff they don’t like and fixating on the moral equivalence that seems to define them (i.e., if Bush did something, then it’s wrong to criticize Obama for doing worse).

In the article itself, I wrote, “I’m not going to bother to see if Bono was ever invited to attend anything during the Bush presidency, but if he was, I’ll bet you it was because of his humanitarian efforts, rather than because of his songs.”

In a subsequent comment regarding a DIFFERENT liberal rapper, I pointed out that “George Bush did NOT invite him. And Eazy-E certainly was NOT invited because of his “lyrics” – UNLIKE “COMMON WHO WAS SPECIFICALLY INVITED BECAUSE OF HIS LYRICS. Rather, Eazy-E was invited because of a check he wrote.”

But you are entirely correct. Bush invited Bono A) who is a LEFTIST B) for his humanitarian work. So by liberal moral “logic” it therefore is okay for liberal Obama to invite A) a man who shares Obama’s radical worldview and who literally went to the same demonic church B) specifically as a “poet” for his “poetry.”

Thanks for mentioning that, RS. There are so many arguments on our side and against the amoral liberals that it’s hard to remember them all at once.

  22. matt Says:

    Dear author,
You seem to be making this argument about something that it’s not. The point is, those three guys wrote songs about “cop-killers” and you wouldn’t bat an eye if they were invited to the White House, nobody would. But when it’s some guy you haven’t heard of, you decide to write an entire article about it. Next time, talk to your parents and make sure you understand what the person your criticizing is saying. Also, don’t call Bruce a turd – how is that called for at all?

  23. Michael Eden Says:

Your argument consist ENTIRELY of something that is called “moral equivalence.” If someone else did X, then I am justified in doing X. That is a morally insane argument.

If George Bush invited a rapper who sang vile songs about murdering police, then Barack Obama is right to invite vile “artists” too. If Hitler murdered 6 million Jews, then Barack Obama can murder 6 million Jews, too. One wrong plus one wrong equals right.

    That’s the bottom line.

In previous comments, I also documented that CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS were outraged over Bush’s invite. Which is another way of saying you are wrong AGAIN, and a liar besides; WE DID “BAT AN EYE,” AND YOU ARE A LIAR FOR SAYING WE DIDN’T.

Bush made a lot of giant mistakes as president, and he was never worse than when he was trying to appease the left. And the very fact that liberals are pulling this “Bush did it too” crap to justify Obama pretty much proves that we just need to destroy the left, because they are not the kind of people whom “reaching out to” does any good anyway. When Bush invited that rapper, he was wrong; when Bush refused to fire Clinton-appointee Franklin Raines as Fannie Mae CEO because he was the first black guy appointed to that position and the left would have screamed “racist” if Bush fired that criminal scumbag, he was wrong.

It bothers me that there are people like you out there, Matt, who say nobody should care if a president of the United States invites cop killing murderers to be honored at the White House. I call people who celebrate that kind of destruction of America things like “turds.”

    Wear it.

  24. nonyadamnbizness Says:

Just shut the hell up, nobody needs to be locked in jail for [deleted due to profanity] that they did not do. There is no evidence just a realism that she was there at the scene. Your ass wasn’t there and neither were the people who is still trying to convict her, so with that being said there is no proof and no evidence let the [deleted due to profanity] go. And why does it matter who the [deleted due to profanity] the President invites to the white house. He had poetry night Common is a great poet, it makes sense!! Does that automatically make him a supporter of wrongdoings HELL NO get over yourself….

  25. Michael Eden Says:

I’ll be blocking you after this because you are very obviously pathologically incapable of keeping the vileness in your soul from intruding into your language. But I thought I’d respond to you as follows:

    1) “Your ass wasn’t there” … versus … “nobody needs to be locked in jail for [deleted due to profanity] that they did not do.” Which is to say that you are either claiming that you WERE there OR – far more likely – you are documenting the fact that YOU ARE AN ABJECT HYPOCRITE. I wasn’t there so I have no right to an opinion, but you are a liberal and vile abject personal hypocrisy being the quintessential essence of liberalism it doesn’t matter to you that YOU weren’t there either. You liberals disgust me because you literally can’t write three successive sentences without contradicting yourselves and proving yourselves wrong BY YOUR OWN STANDARDS.

    2) “Your ass wasn’t there and neither were the people who is still trying to convict her”: You’re right: the jury that convicted these two cop killers wasn’t there, nor were the lawyers or the judge. Your system (that hypocrite liberal cockroaches aside, we can’t put someone on trial unless all participants actually saw the crime being committed in person) is one that completely guarantees anarchy. It is an idiotic statement from an idiotic mind.

    3) Complete moral idiots aside, these two cop killers were duly tried and convicted based on the laws of the United States of America. It is a statement of fact that Assata Shakur and Mumia Abu-Jamal are both convicted cop-killing murderers.

    4) “And why does it matter who the [deleted due to profanity] the President invites to the white house.” Yeah, that’s right, you abject moral idiot; it doesn’t matter at all. After all, as Barack Obama put it, it’s “my White House.” It’s not the American people’s house anymore. We’ve got an emperor now. So why does it matter who our emperor invites? Let’s have pimps and rapists and mass murderers and child molesters in there too, while we’re at it. A liberal is in the White House, and as you yourself serve to demonstrate, liberals are utterly depraved people, so let’s not have any higher standard than the man who now owns the White House that used to belong to the people wants.

    Lastly 5) “get over yourself….”

    You first, you turd.

  26. Terminal shock Says:

Just as the gods used WWII to justify an influx of new technologies so will they use the impending pestilence which kills over half the world’s population to justify historical medical advances, including the “cure of aging”, initiating the “1000 years with Jesus on Earth”.
We’ve seen this tactic used recently with AIDS, targetted at homosexuals and blacks in Africa.
Then, as promised, The End will come with fire::::Global tectonic subduction.

Anyone the gods role play telepathically or use for positioning in this Situation extensively have a legacy of hurting others. The more they hurt the more eggregious in history their legacy. Considering they tell me my auidence at any one time is nearly half a billion it is not inconceivable Adolph Hitler was reincarnated into the Situation.
Due to the expansive accumulated audience in this Situation these individuals have now qualified for a legacy of hurting billions of people, and as a result own a very exclusive legacy which will qualify them to be used for the pestilence event which kills half the world’s population:::The monsters of tommarrow.

The gods behave monsterously in the course of managing Planet Earth, matching our decay, but they demand people be good if you are to have a chance to ascend as a child in a future life.
Not only is doing the right things important (praying, attoning for your sins, thinking the right way:::accepting humility, modesty, vulnerability), so is avoiding the wrong things important as well:::”Go and sin no more”.
You NEED active parents who share wisdom to have a real chance to ascend into heaven in a future life, and you MUST be a good parent as well to have that opportunity.

Before you get angry…Just because you don’t understand what’s going on don’t mean it don’t make no sense.
    1. Punishment is a good thing. It means they care and want you to learn.
    2. For some people it’s too late and the gods don’t want them to change, left to celebrate sin and wallow in this wicked enviornment.

    The dogs are dead.
And they’re still incurring evil from their prior life(ves).
Junior Seau is a good example::The real, a 20-something in her next life, making progress, so the gods allow her clone host fake to committ suicide, allowing her off the hook incurring evil in her prior life. AND close the restaurant, her legacy in capitalism.
Al Davis should be so lucky.

The antients will offer clues with press releases, most recently about arsenic in rice. Asian herbal therapy may account for this cancer risk but typically not in whites, a reminder to eat within your own culture as well. Recall years ago the gods released a similar report about arsenic in apples. It’s no coincidence our grossly disfavored culture feed our candidates (children) with all manners of apple products.

I want to remind you all of the problem of 10 year-old prepubescent girls being prostituted in the inner cities of America.
Why is it I am the only person who has any urgency to stop this?:::Because it is deliberate!!! The gods will give them all the rope they need.

There was a very real perception that bi-racial was much worse for the white than it was for the person of color. The liberal culture, which was designed and promoted with the god’s tools to achieve their Apocalyptic goals, screamed racism when there was a very reasonable explanation for this reality::::
In this white punishment known as the United States the person of color has already adopted the disfavors/temptations intended for another race. But by associating/mating with a person of color the white is newly adopting the disfavors of another culture.
And this is the reason why people of color are not welcome in the United States. The gods control everything:::The perception they want to create, the thoughts they want you to have.
People of color can’t recover from absorbing the temptations from two cultures. And why they become more and more like so many blacks in America:::Veterans at absorbing the temptations of two cultures.
To further illustrate this is why California’s educational system/funding was ranked #1 when California was white:::Education being the basis of the affluent economic system. Now even public higher education has become unaffordable.

The gods placed us all into our own corners of the globe. As such for thousands of years we spent time and reproduced with out own kind.
This is why mobilty/travel, biracial unions/offspring and partaking of other cultures is a sin::::
Each has it’s own elements of disfavor, and by experiencing other cultures you are being exposed to these disfavors, which if people may adopt will make their state even worse than prior.
The United States has been considered a “melting pot” where rejects from around the world were sent when kicked out of their motherland.
Remember, this concept of cultural diversity is an element of the liberal platform the gods used to promote societal decay, revealed on the map with the “beast” that is the SanFranciscoBayArea and the spread of social deterioration that spread to the rest of the country and eventually to the entire globe.

Don’t forget the lessons the ‘ole white preacher taught:::Dancing is a sin.
The gods used the liberal tool to ridicule away so many taboos, paving the way for the decay of society and ultimately the End Times::::::
Black behavior was controlled by the KKK. Men’s behavior was controlled by marriage for thousands of years.
When married by 15 men never gained the taste of promiscuity. Once the gods used the budding liberalism tool the men set the tone for the deteriorating enviornment centered around their gross disfavor.
Women’s relinquishing control of pre-arranged marriage will be what costs mankind everything in The End. It’s all their fault. The Apocalypse, Rapture, the End Times is women’s fault. Men are pigs, essentially just primally responsive disfavored beings who if given the freedom will abuse based on the impulses the god’s push them into. Whereas under pre-arranged marriage this behavior was contained now the promiscuous fraternity house epitomizes the pinnicle of what a “real man” should be like. And sadly the women fall into line.
The end of the world is because of the females.

As with so many things in this life “less is more”. Sex is one of those things. They used the liberal age to promote casual “free” sex intentionally::Combined with “women’s lib” and their initiation into the “trenches” of the workplace as well as other issues like alcohol consumption the people experienced a mass masculinization of the females.
The gods use sex as temptation. This is why the most disfavored among us are preoccupied with it. While some may feel being well-endowed is a sign of favor the truth is just the opposite. And often the result is misogyny, a belittling of the favored gender, and stagnation of the people as a whole.
Less is more. When young women experience passing thoughts which say you’re doing something wrong instead of fighting or dismissing the thought you should heed the warning. Sadly in today’s world too many experience prolonged periods of promiscuity in their lives, whereas if married by 15 like throughout human history this disfavor was avoided.
Don’t forget:::It is children who ascend into heaven, and the absence of sexual activity is one reason. Their general innocence is another, which should help you see the destructive nature of adult life in today’s society.

Ronald Reagan spent the communist block into submission with defense buildup, and in the process increased the National debt from $1 trillion in 1980 to $6 trillion when he left office.
W charged both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars to the national debt, honest numbers to come.
The gods used W to initiate the “Great Recession” with deliberate legislation/regulation changes, allowing the sub-prime fiasco and corporate irresponsibility/criminal behavior which led to the multi-trillion dollar stimulous package, pocketted by Republican friends and donors::::$5 trillion charged to the National credit card.
This corruption is one element of evil in the party of good. War mongering is another.
Damned if you do, Damned if you don’t::::With the Democrats you subscribe to social decay via liberlism, which WILL lead to the Apocalypse. Republicans are being used by the gods to bankrupt the United States, ultimately motivating people to the point of “desperation prayer” once anarchy presides::::Punishment designed to correct your behavior.

The gods behave monsterously in the course of managing Planet Earth but they demand people be good if you are to have a chance to ascend in a future life.
Once your children have been raised something changes, something has been decided about you. This is exactly that.

god won’t heal amputees because they deserve it.
    They deserve it.
In a former life they were sick monsters who thought they were “earning” by hurting others, perhaps Italian shit like the filth who did the legwork setting up WorldWarII (revenge on enemies, ex:German invasion of dying Roman Empire) and destroying Planet Earth’s “Old Worlds”. The gods had their real reason behind this::The “leveling of the playing field” in preparation for the Apocalypse. In addition the gods used Italians to prey upon blacks:::Slavery, crack epidemic, gangland wars, AIDS in Africa, celebrating pimping/prostitution of pre-pubescent girls, etc.
Too many of you think the gods like you. In fact they have been shooting at the target on your foreheads for centuries. Want to understand the god’s sadistic pathology??:::The gods made bondage up to black Americans with exclusion (oppression, KKK, rouge cops):::100 years of protection from this wicked white punishment known as the USA. You got 100 extra years before the shit hit the fan and decency began to deteriorate hard.
california was different because California is The Beast. This is where the gods placed the most disfavored. They are not entitled to the god’s extra help.

The gods have positioned this Situation to look good. They destroyed lives just so they would look good in the public eye. Denying they ruined my childhood entitled them to destroy my health, making my loss complete. They deliberately exceed the deserved abuse in me and others and created bitterness to ensure people fail to recover from their loss.
“We’ll make it up to you.”::::”We really like you. Everybdy esle got only 1000 years (with Jesus on Earth). You got 10,000. We really like you.”
If people understood they’d see what vicious, depraved shit the gods can be. They pick someone out to use for their purpose and follow through with the agenda they scripted long, long ago whether in the wrong or not.

“That’s your alternate.”:::The sole element of disfavor in the next Garden of Eden, setting our new planet on a collision course with an Apocalypse.
Guess it’s better than the KKK.
Had to fuck my chances up first though, hun? Stack the deck so hard the cards had to fall in one certain direction?
All these years you could have allowed organic growth of the Situation, but since I would have earned a legacy you’d be compelled to grant me a minimum amount of time. But your compulsion for control (anal) compells you to create the freedom necessary to accomplish your preferred strategy:::Minimizing your culpability. And since you have absolute power there is little chance of any other senario occurring.

The god’s goal is to create the freedom necessary to justify employing their strategy. German 5th century invasion enabled WWII, Moorish invasion of Italy justified black misery.
The gods don’t fight fair. Their positioning is a good example, because you will have to negotiate this theater to succeed. THEN the gods will begin their tactics which will be revealed as unfair.
So many of you invested your whole lives believing “earning” through being evil was the way. When you learn you were hurting yourselves instead of helping yourselves, when you realize you will be punished HARD if you choose to reclaim your chance you too will understand loss.
The antients created freedom through future health issues. Early was dental isses they prevented from being treated professionally to prepare for inevitable ROger Ebert surgury. Wicked, black heart.

Anyone the gods role play telepathically or use for positioning in this Situation extensively have a legacy of hurting others, the more they hurt the more eggregious in history their legacy. Considering they tell me my auidence at times is in the hundreds of millions it is not inconceivable Adolph Hitler was reincarnated into the Situation.

The gods used the Black Plaugue to motivate Europeans to pray hard and ascend before Christianity ruined European cultures.
“Virgin” Mary was a hooker and Jesus’s legacy was as a pimp. Mary Magdeline was the woman who made his money for him on the street:::Hedonistic, wicked Mediterreanean hammered by the gods with Noah’s Flood. This is why the gods used this region to launch the Beginning of The End.
I will bet you this is the truth. He didn’t associate with that prostitute because he was a good guy. That woman made his money for him. And you Christians pray to this monster. You are chumps the gods play for fools.

If you must chose an organized religion Judism is the best choice. Remember::You’re not there to socialize. Don’t let that tactic cost you; everywhere are people whom the gods have convinced they are “earning”. Even a house of god.
Temptation has misled you into wickedness:::You’re all going the wrong way, misled by the deception that is our society.

Repeatedly the gods warned against eating fish. Not shellfish, mind you, for organinisms like crab and lobster have a consciousness of power, one where they can and do defend themselves (clams/muscles bottom feeder toxic filters).
Any Catholic can attest shellfish on Fridays during lent was like “cheating”, for the gods hold Catholics in condemnation and compell them to hurt themselves as severely as possible.
But typical fish exhibit a consciousness of constant fear and escape from preditors. This is why the gods like women/girls. And as our envionrment changes, the antients position the masses to be increasingly under control of Artificial Intelligence, this risk of rape dissipates, giving the gods freedom to alter their attitudes towards the female gender and therefore the people as a whole.
Equality. Be careful what you ask for.
The leveling of the playing field.
Of course they also say “croutons are evil”, so anyone who would make such an innane statement is fucked in the head. Unfortunate for us they are in charge of the universe.

Misotheism is the “hatred of God” or “hatred of the gods” (from the Greek adjective µ?s??e?? “hating the gods”, a compound of µ?s?? “hatred” and ?e?? “god”). In some varieties of polytheism, it was considered possible to inflict punishment on gods by ceasing to worship them. Thus, Hrafnkell, protagonist of the eponymous Icelandic saga set in the 10th century, as his temple to Freyr is burnt and he is enslaved states that “I think it is folly to have faith in gods”, never performing another sacrifice, a position described in the sagas as goðlauss “godless”. Jacob Grimm in his Teutonic Mythology observes that:
A related concept is dystheism (Greek d?s?e?? “ungodly”), the belief that a god is not wholly good, and is possibly evil.

  27. Michael Eden Says:

    Terminal shock,

Maybe somebody else will read your rambling. Frankly I didn’t make it beyond the first few sentences to recognize that it was irrelevant AND irreverent rambling that is filled with half truths and whole lies.

As one example of your outright lies as I scanned down the page, blaming the black plague on Christianity is both morally and factually loathsome. The Roman world had already experienced a terrible plauge (the Antonine Plague) during the reign of a very good albeit non-Christian emperor Marcus Aurelius. Are you going to blame that plague on Christianity even though neither the emperor or the empire was NOT Christian at that point, or are you going to blame it on the fact that neither the emperor or the empire wasn’t Christian??? If you had an honest bone in your body and applied your “logic” consistently, you would be forced to conclude that the Antonine Plague during the reign of Marcus Aurelius on a non-Christian empire was because the people were NOT Christian. Not that you have an honest bone in your body.

By the time the Roman Empire collapsed, the ONLY thing holding it together and providing ANY continuity around which the people could rally was the Christian Church.

The funniest thing of ALL is that the Roman world FLOURISED during a time of “global warming” that was actually a fair bit warmer than you idiot liberals are whining about now. It was when the Roman warming ended and the empire was in a mini-ice age that we experienced much of the hardship that Christianity alone allowed the Western world to survive to the extent that it did. The so-called “dark ages” were a damn ice age and basically a factual historical disproof of everything you losers demagogue with your global warming bullcrap. In the same vein, it was the Christian Church and the Christian Church ALONE which preserved both Greek and Roman culture, philosphy, ideas about government and democracy, and pretty much everything else that matters to humankind.

In any event, maybe somebody will carefully read through your disjointed rambling that has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the article you were ostensibly commenting upon and talk more about what an idiot you are. Until then, begone.

  28. Shannon Says:

“In the same vein, it was the Christian Church and the Christian Church ALONE which preserved both Greek and Roman culture, philosphy, ideas about government and democracy, and pretty much everything else that matters to humankind.”

Unfortunately history has already shown us that the dark ages were considered dark because of the mass destruction of books and educational material. The destruction was wrought by Christians who were, in essence, trying to ‘save’ the world by taking away the world’s choices in belief systems. This is not up for debate. It is fact.

I know I’m a few years late to the party, but I just wanted to stop and say what a turd I think you are. I won’t point out the many instances in which you try to prove points using logical fallacies or in which you debase yourself or stoop to levels you claim you won’t stoop to. I won’t point out the many instances in which you call another a hypocrite while you are being one as well…the hypocrisy is just too much. It’s nonsense. You will simply try to disprove my points using the same logical fallacies you’ve been using all along, the cycle will repeat. I’m a fool for even thinking what I have to say matters 3 years after you wrote this post.

I ignore political parties because of blogs like this and the extremist ideals held by the people who are in the parties. I think you all have fair points, you all have intelligent people backing you, and you’re all liars and hypocrites and idiots at times too. There is no right or wrong when it comes to one political party because you all dabble in both so much it’s hard to tell good from evil.

I’ve met really good Republicans and really evil ones…really good Conservatives, Democrats, Liberals….whatever they want to call themselves they were great people. I’ve also met evil people who go by the same labels. I choose to be a good person, it seems to me like you assume a good person can only be good if they ascribe to a specific view point…that view being yours of course. It’s just that everybody I know that is an extreme believer in their own party is exactly the same.

My way or the highway, I’m right you’re wrong and there’s nothing you can do to prove otherwise…everything I say is golden. That’s the impression you give me, that’s how I think you feel about yourself. That’s what I figure you must think when you look in the mirror every day. That’s how you come across. Like I have no chance to be right not based on any merit or intelligence (or lack thereof) of my own…but because you simply will not allow anyone else to be right, even if you are wrong.

  29. Michael Eden Says:

Unfortunately history has already shown us that the dark ages were considered dark because of the mass destruction of books and educational material.

Actually, you are COMPLETELY WRONG. And it is unfortunate that there people like you who are not only incredibly ignorant but incredibly bigoted to go along with it.

And YOU are actually the very worst kind of “extremist” in your ignorant bigotry.

First of all, the term “Dark Ages” was coined by atheist propagandists such as Voltaire. They coined the term as a propaganda ploy to contrast the “light” of Greek-Roman pantheism with the “darkness” of Christianity.

Here is a paragraph that is well-sourced:

Originally the term characterized the bulk of the Middle Ages, or roughly the 6th to 13th centuries, as a period of intellectual darkness between extinguishing the “light of Rome” after the end of Late Antiquity, and the rise of the Italian Renaissance in the 14th century.[5] [3] This definition is still found in popular use,[1][2][6] but increased recognition of the accomplishments of the Middle Ages has led to the label being restricted in application. Since the 20th century, it is frequently applied to the earlier part of the era, the Early Middle Ages (c. 5th–10th century).[7][8] However, many modern scholars who study the era tend to avoid the term altogether for its negative connotations, finding it misleading and inaccurate for any part of the Middle Ages.[9][10][11]

    And those footnotes:

    9. Snyder, Christopher A. (1998). An Age of Tyrants: Britain and the Britons A.D. 400–600. University Park: Pennsylvania State University Press. pp. xiii–xiv. ISBN 0-271-01780-5. In explaining his approach to writing the work, Snyder refers to the “so-called Dark Ages”, noting that “Historians and archaeologists have never liked the label Dark Ages … there are numerous indicators that these centuries were neither ‘dark’ nor ‘barbarous’ in comparison with other eras.”
    10. Jordan, Chester William (2004). Dictionary of the Middle Ages, Supplement 1. Verdun, Kathleen, “Medievalism” pp. 389–397. Sections ‘Victorian Medievalism’, ‘Nineteenth-Century Europe’, ‘Medievalism in America 1500–1900’, ‘The 20th Century’. Same volume, Freedman, Paul, “Medieval Studies”, pp. 383–389.
    11. Raico, Ralph. “The European Miracle”. Retrieved 14 August 2011. “The stereotype of the Middle Ages as ‘the Dark Ages’ fostered by Renaissance humanists and Enlightenment philosophes has, of course, long since been abandoned by scholars.”

I would add to that list sociologist Rodney Stark, whose book “For the Glory of God” rather conclusively documents the discoveries of the “Dark Ages” along with the bias and propaganda that led to the term being coined in the first place.

And here is a great article from the UK Telegraph exposing you as a fraud and a liar:

It is a FACT that the scientific method was developed by a publicly-confessing Christian named Francis Bacon. It is a FACT that EVERY SINGLE MAJOR BRANCH OF SCIENCE was discovered by publicly confessing Christians. It is ALSO a FACT that belief in God was a necessary condition to the development of science. And that science arose in and out of CHRISTENDOM and no where else.

So you have the balls to throw what is widely recognized as outright refuted propaganda at me and then tell me I’m misrepresenting history, you wicked liar????

You are doing nothing but ignorantly citing extinct propaganda. Modern historians no longer use the term because it is well-understood by educated people that the “Dark Ages” were actually not so dark. Particularly when compared with modernity. For example, you atheist bigot: explain to me how the “Dark Ages” were more “dark” than the Holocaust in World War II under educated and scientifically flourishing Nazi Germany that was actually trying to replace Christianity with the very same Greco-Roman pantheism that you agree with Voltaire was so wonderful. Explain to me how the “dark ages” were so much “darker” than when Stalin murdered 40 million of his own people during peacetime under the Christianity-absent atheist Soviet purges. Explain to me how the “Dark Ages” were so much darker than when Chairman Mao murdered 60 million of his own people (again during peacetime!) during his atheist-inspired Great Leap Forward. More than one hundred MILLION human beings were brutally murdered during YOUR version of “enlightenment.” And yet you cling to the very hate and ignorance and bigotry and lies that led to those hundred million people being murdered.

Secondly, to the VERY limited extent that the term “Dark Ages” has ANY accuracy whatsoever, you ignorant fool, understand that two events happened in the history that everybody but YOU understands: 1) the world entered an ice age that showed how ignorant you liberal fools are when it comes to whining about global warming: because the Roman Empire FLOURISHED during warming that is a fair degree WARMER than the world is now, and in fact humanity struggles during ICE AGES and not warming periods. That Ice Age led to the collapse of the Roman Empire as increasing numbers of barbarian peoples migrated to warmer regions as it became too cold for them to survive. And they began to increasingly pressure Rome until Rome collapsed. Which put the world into a vacuum that THE CHURCH FILLED BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING BUT THE CHURCH TO FILL IT.

Rome collapsed. THAT is a fact. And there was nothing left but barbarian peoples and the Church who first preserved pretty much ALL the classical period and philosophy and civilization and second ultimately brought LIGHT to the darkness of barbarism by converting the murderous barbarian peoples who had invaded the Roman world.

I also mock you for our outright hypocrisy. Listen to you whine as you create your straw man of me saying, “My way or the highway, I’m right you’re wrong.” And then listen to you rant at me up the moment before you demonize me for daring to have my own opinion that differs from yours. You are the very worst thing that you try to say of me. What do you say of me? You call me a “turd” AND a “hypocrite” when you have already documented that you are a hypocrite without shame. If it’s so wrong for me to have my views, why is it so right for you to have yours apart from the fact that you are a bigot filled with hate and contempt for anyone who doesn’t think like YOU do??? You characterize me as “evil” and yourself as “good”. And what are your damn facts that you offer as you tell me how wrong I am? ZERO. You have your worthless OPINION and the world doesn’t agree with it so the world is wrong.

Please feel free to get lost, Shannon. “Ever so lovable” you aint. And I don’t waste my time arguing with people who challenge the FACTS that I offer who don’t have either the brains or the character to offer any valid argument aside from their own worthless opinions. Go be a waste of someone else’s time.
