Frightening Obituary For America (b. 1775 d. 2008)

The following is being passed around the email world.  But it’s interesting and it offers some important truths:

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.”

The Obituary follows:

Born 1776, Died 2012
It doesn’t hurt to read this several times.

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul , Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million McCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country. Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low-income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal’s – and they vote – then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

This is truly scary!

Of course America is not a democracy, it is a Constitutional Republic.

Someone should point this out to Obama.

Of course we know he and too many others pay little attention to The Constitution.

There couldn’t be more at stake than on Nov 2012.

The email gives the die date of America at 2012 (assuming we re-elect Obama).

It may already be too late for America.  Just as one can smoke tens of thousands of cigarettes and only quit smoking after one has already guaranteed contracting a lingering death by cancer, we may have already put ourselves into such a state of deficit and debt that we cannot recover no matter what we do now.

We are to a point when we are more than $211 TRILLION in debt and we cannot even possibly dig our way out of the grave we have dug for ourselves.

We are to a point when fully half the population pays absolutely no federal income taxes at all while demanding that the few who still DO pay taxes pay more and more and more of the burden.

The Book of Jonah records the way a society can spare itself from the destruction that it richly deserves.  But if Ninevah had had a Democrat Party, it would have been the story of Sodom and Gomorrah instead.  And I fear that we’re at the Sodom and Gomorrah point.

  1. Brenzordic Says:

You didn’t mention soldiers raping each other, a topic you find really interesting for some reason.

Hey did you hear Cheney got a heart transplant? I guess if that can happen, you can keep hoping your brain transplant shows up….err, implant, sorry. I’ve read your drivel and it’s apparent you don’t have one.

  2. Brenzordic Says:

Also? This is twelve years old, and dates back to 2000!

Suggest you read this thoroughly, because it pretty much refutes every point it makes. This crapola version just is a rehash of inaccuracies.

I mean, if you have something intelligent and thoughtful to say, say it. But to rehash stuff that’s utterly untrue – like the ludicrous belief that the President of the United States somehow controls world oil prices – something you can’t prove in a million years, because he doesn’t – then you’re just making a fool of yourself.

By all means: carry on, fool.

Reblogged this on The Life in Exile and commented:
    This says it all!…..

I have no doubt that every genius hunter on the planet will come begging me for your email so they can better appreciate your brilliance, you dumbass.

Holy crap, and I mean holy crap. I mean, hey “genius,” you voted for a guy who said he’d been to 57 states with one more left to go and you’re in a snit about this??? Seriously???

This is the level of your “it pretty much refutes every point it makes“: the email says “Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29.” And your link to Snopes tells us: “The numbers given (29 and 19) imply that the piece was written before the results of the Florida and New Mexico vote counts were determined. The final tallies were 30 states for Bush and 20 for Gore.”

I mean, boy was I ever refuted!!! How on earth could anybody have been so profoundly wrong??? It sure is a good thing there are niggling little insects like you to point out glaring flaws like that!!! I mean, that makes the Obama closing down Gitmo promise look like nothing!!! It makes the fact that ObamaCare is going to cost TWICE as much as what Obama promised just VANISH!!! It makes Obama’s lies about the debt that he promised to cut in half but instead tripled simply go away!!! It makes Obama’s demagoguery on the debt ceiling limit look like nothing!!!

I mean, why on earth would anybody bother to consider Obama’s pathological deception on oil –

The recent increase in domestic oil production touted by President Obama took place almost entirely on non-federal lands beyond his administration’s control, a new study by the Congressional Research Service has found.

The study, prepared by the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service (CRS), examined oil production on federal and non-federal land between 2007-2011. Approximately 96 percent of the total increase in domestic oil production occurred on non-federal land, CRS found.

Earlier this month, the Energy Information Administration reported that oil and natural gas production on federal land declined 40 percent over the past decade and 14 percent in 2011 alone.

Obama has been touting the increase in domestic oil production in an effort to assuage mounting concerns over record fuel prices throughout the country.

“Under my administration, America is producing more oil today than at any time in the last eight years,” he said in a speech last month.

    – when you’ve caught me on this???

It’s just hard to even imagine a bigger refutation than the one you just handed me. I frankly don’t know how I can go on. I’m, sure that insects everywhere are laughing at me right now. How on earth am I going to be able to go outside with all you and your little tiny bug friends mocking me???

Here is a picture of the 2004 Bush vs. Gore election map on a county-by-county basis:

    Bush Gore election map

That pretty much says it all. And that is a cold hard fact, you bug.

Should I have fact-checked this email prior to posting it? Yeah. A couple of rather MINOR errors slipped past me because I new that most of it was generally correct. But get real.

Now you can go ahead and get lost you hypocrite.

  5. Michael Eden Says:

I’ve got a theory on the “Obama destroyed America” thing.

Obama said he was going to “fundamentally transform” America, as we all know. And of course it’s working out that Obama is bankrupting America and America will necessarily implode as a result of his policies.

I believe that Obama was willing to take a giant roll of the dice with the future of 300 million Americans. If any of his plans worked whatsoever, he will take credit for his wonderfulness. If America collapses (and it will) Obama will have “fundamentally transformed” America into a Marxist-style banana republic. The Obama regime amounts to Cloward and Piven for America. And basically Obama figures he wins either way.

  6. Scott Says:

No doubt about it…EVERY day, there’s something that SHOULD really concern Americans! But, of course, they have their heads in the sand…the latest is Obama telling Russian president Medvedev that he’ll have more ‘flexibility’ after his election…How scary is that?!

  7. Michael Eden Says:

I’ve heard about that Obama “wait till after the election and I’ll betray America to the Russians all you want” remark. And I’ll be writing it up.

In my family we play a silly game of “you can’t prove it.” No matter how obvious something one of us did when we get together is, we’ll say “you can’t prove it.” For example:

    “Grandpa was taking a nap!”

    “You can’t prove it.”

    “We took a picture.”

“It’s a Photoshop forgery.” Or, “I was singing an aria” (to explain why his mouth was open and his eyes were closed), etc.

That’s the way it is to argue with a liberal. It just ventures into the ridiculous. Only grandpa is just kidding whereas liberals are deadly serious.

  8. truthunites Says:

    Here’s a suggestion for peace:

Split up the country into two different countries: A country with a liberal polity and a liberal culture, and a country with a real belief and enforcement of its Constitution and a conservative culture.

I’d want to become a citizen of the Conservative America.

  9. Michael Eden Says:

Well, Obama DID always like to compare himself with Civil War president Abraham Lincoln…

I’ve thought about “what it would take” to restore freedom myself, truthunites.

During the Civil War, of course, we had worldviews pretty much split along territorial lines. One could divide up the country and few on either side would have to load up the wagon and move. It isn’t that way anymore, of course.

That said, let me tell you what would happen if we split the country – in the most ideal scenario in which there was no war between the states:

the liberal nation would increasingly fail in a spectacularly short time. And you would have millions of liberals coming to the conservative nation saying, “We’ve learned our lesson; we’re conservatives now!” And in a short time there’d be millions of liberals who would then pervert the conservative nation into a failed socialist banana republic just like they’re doing now. Which is similar to saying that if you divided up all the nation’s wealth and gave an equal share to every citizen, within a few years the people who were dirt poor would have squandered it with their failed lifestyles and be dirt poor again and they would immediately return to the Marxist class warfare demonization of the rich just as before.

I suppose the conservative nation could be smart and have a “zero immigration” policy with the liberal country and patrol the border with hyper-vigilance. Because a white liberal is FAR more dangerous to our nation’s liberty than any average Hispanic/etc. illegal immigrant.

  10. truthunites Says:

    Aw sheeeeeeee…. et.

Guess we’re stuck with the Lib Zombies then.

  11. Michael Eden Says:

Here’s another thing I’ve thought about: that the only way to defeat liberalism is to deal with liberals the way they’ve so often tried to deal with us.

One example is the courts: if conservative judges were to start imposing their own views – no matter how warped or unconstitutional those views were – on the law the way the liberal judges have, things would change very quickly.

Antonin Scalia warned Nadine Strossen of that once:

Someday, Nadine, you’re going to get a very conservative Supreme Court — And you’re going to regret what you’ve done.

Right now, we’re being told by the left that to undo a fundamentally unconstitutional power grab by the statist left would amount to judicial activism, and only the left has the right to impose their prejudices on the law.

We could act like liberals and turn it against liberalism. For instance, we could pass a “fairness doctrine” on the liberal media the same way they did to radio broadcasting and mandate that Rush Limbaugh be present to rebut every “journalist’s” “news report.”

But ultimately, the only way we can deal with the left is to recognize that we are in a condition of total war with them (the way they have viewed us) and fight them on their own terms much the way that the Allies used poison gas and total war on the WWI Germans – just as the Germans had used first against the Allies – until the Germans surrendered.

  12. SickOfSpin Says:

I see that when people try to inject some truth into this discussion they get attacked by blind partisans who care more about ideology than facts.

Joseph Olson denies ever writing that nonsense in the email, and those statistics were taken from the 2000 election.

I have no problem with real, rational political discussion. But when people start defending the nonsense that is in emails like the one cited above, well, they certainly have nothing of value to say. Instead of admitting the lies, they will change the subject and go into some other rant, redirecting the conversation away from the lies they posted. This now what passes for “argument” these days. And it is just sad. We truly get the government we deserve, when this is how people behave.

  13. Michael Eden Says:

    Well, let’s see, Mister Begins-His-Post-with-Self-Righteous-Whining-Demagoguery,

I’ve got to mock you liberal ideologues who constantly try to represent yourselves as the “moderate voices of reason.”

You mentioned the year 2000. That was the year that George Bush was elected president and the Democrat Party came completely unglued. That was the first year of eight years of total Bush Derangement Syndrome. The hatred for George Bush was incredible, and four years after he’s gone Obama continues to fan those flames of hate with almost daily “blame George Bush for everything bad that ever happened to you” rhetoric.

And then Barack Obama gets elected and you same Bush haters are presenting yourselves as these bastions of moderation. And demanding respect and tolerance for all things Obama. You know, the opposite of the way you tore into Bush like pit bulls tearing into red meat.

The way you go after me personally just for posting an email kind of reveals the fact that you’re a pile of crap by the very self-righteous denunciations that you’re dumping on me.

Joseph Olson denies the way Bill Clinton denied. Good thing Monica Lewinsky saved that stained blue dress to “correct the record.” The man who is now the most respected voice in your party was disbarred for his gross breach of ethics after he seduced the kids of supporters and lied under oath. Sorry if I don’t say with you, “Well, if this Democrat guy says he didn’t do it, that’s good enough for me.”

I wrote an article titled, “Do Unto Obama What Liberals Did Unto Bush.” And I draw notice to that merely to say that if you REALLY think what I’m doing is bad, I want you to look in the mirror every single day and say to the face you see, “Shame on you for creating a climate of anger with your eight years of hating on all things George Bush.”

I’m not going to take the time to find out what the hell you mean by “those statistics” (at least I knew who Clinton was referring to when he said, “that woman“), but I guess that I’m so old now that I was actually alive for that 2000 election and even voted in it. So I guess I don’t have a problem revisiting what you seem to think is such ancient history. Not that you didn’t mind ancient history when the Washington Post went back fifty years to tar and feather Romney when he was a fifteen year old boy recently. 2000 has to be off the table but 1965 lives on forever, I suppose.

I’m watching Scott Walker and the Republicans OWN you liberals as I write this. I guess Wisconsin is TIRED of the “government they deserved” that you refer to when they voted for Obama three and a half years ago.

What’s interesting is the the same people who keep preaching at me are basically the same people that we saw in Wisconsin: did Democrats in Wisconsin show us what “government we deserve” looks like with their respect of the democratic process as displayed in Walker’s 2010 election victory? Nope. Not you people. What did you do? Let’s see, first all of your politicians fled the state rather than vote; then you initiated not one, not two, but THREE recall elections to try to change the results of that 2010 election. All the while as you poured gasoline on your hate fire you kept claiming that Walker was the one who was doing all the dividing.

Excuse me for not bothering to take my advice from you or your ilk.

  14. Irony Abounds Says:

Earth to Michael Eden: The blog entry stated that it was posting some important truths, and set forth facts about the 2008 election that are completely untrue and in fact was just a rewriting of an email that was first sent about the 2000 election, and it was mostly false in that regard. You denigrate “liberals” yet are steadfastly sticking to falsehoods. What does that say about you that you are either willingly using falsehoods or are too stupid to know the truth when it is in front of your face. Forget about evil liberals for a moment and think about yourself. Do you have no integrity? Is the truth unimportant to you? I suggest you take a look in the mirror and determine whether you want to be an honest person or a dishonest person. Until you are honest, you are in no position to judge anyone else.

  15. Michael Eden Says:

    Irony Abonds,

You aren’t calling me from earth; you’re calling me from Uranus. That’s for starters.

You know what, here’s the bottom line: I’ve never taken down a single post from my blog. You see, I’m not like the diseased, rabid cockroaches of YOUR side who wrote posts for the leftist Daily Kos alleging that Bristol Palin was having a baby fathered by her child-molester father and Sarah Palin was faking pregnancy to cover up this horrible situation (another example of the purge here and here). When it came out that Bristol was having her own baby which disproved that Trig could possibly have been hers, you maggot slimeballs just purged the article like it had never happened. Because that’s the kind of rabid little vermin you people are.

You see, Irony Abounds, if I were as vile as YOU personally are, I would publish lies galore, and when my lies were exposed, I’d just do what YOU do and purge the articles.

But, you see, I’m NOT as vile as you.

So I let every single article I’ve ever written stand. People can see what I wrote and criticize it and hold me responsible for it.

Because I’ve got more integrity in my pinky finger than the entire family tree of every single liberal on earth combined.

    How’s THAT for honesty?

I’m going to be blocking you now, Irony Abounds, and let me explain why.

I looked very carefully over your accusation, and I was unable to find so much as ONE SINGLE SPECIFIC FACT that you claimed was a “falsehood.” Did you bother to point out one single specific thing that was false and provide the evidence that it was false? No. Because you are the kind of loathsome turd who doesn’t really give any kind of a damn at all about “the truth.”

If somebody wants to come along and document what is false on this particular article, I – being more honest than you will ever possibly be able to understand – will allow that comment doing so to stand along with this article to which it is posted.

  16. Anonymous Says:

Michael – you sound like a complete douchebag. And I’m not a democrat.

  17. Michael Eden Says:

I suppose you say you’re “not a Democrat” only because you are a “douchebag Democrat.”

As to your “and I’m not a democrat,” I’ve described lying jackasses just like you before:

There’s another psychological malady that’s pretty typical of the liberals who comment on my site: a bizarre identity disorder which results in liberals being unable to simply admit what they are. All the time I get people who are very clearly committed leftists/Democrats trying to pass themselves off as “moderates” or “independents.” Because, you see, if they’re “moderate,” then they represent the giant voice of the middle. And how on earth can I debate someone who is the living embodiment of The Middle.

So I get liberals all the time who will post comment after comment – with every single ONE of those comments arguing for liberal/Democrat positions – and then they’ll tell me that they’re most certainly NOT liberals or Democrats.

Often I catch them red-handed being deceitful, such as a guy who started calling himself “Moderate Conservative” to try to fool me shortly after introducing himself as “Moderate Liberal.” He lacked any shame for his deceit in attempting to pass himself off as something he was not, but at least I got him to acknowledge what he was doing. And this same guy was posting to the “Who Spent More” article, fwiw. He was lecturing me on being more civil while dissociating himself from the vileness of his own side. Because the Democrat Party – at the highest national levels – call conservatives “terrorists” and “racists” and “anti-immigrant” and every hateful pejorative they can think up. We want dirtier air and dirtier water and we want children to suffer from Down Syndrome and autism – and those last according to the guy who is calling himself “the President of the United States” as though he represented the entire country rather than just the radical left.

Notice everything I’m linking to is recent. I don’t have to dredge stuff up from 16 months ago; I get this crap ALL THE TIME from liberals.

As to the fact that you never bother once to offer any kind of point, or argument whatsoever aside from your personal attack, you AGAIN document that I hit the nail on the head with that article about LIBERALS like you:

There’s a flip side to the victimism, and that is avoidance.

Liberals do not like things called “facts” or “arguments.” They are too constraining and isn’t “liberalism” all about feeling free from such constraints?

So I write an article on the issue of abortion and as a result I get called a “KKK racist.” I get a very similar accusation of being a racist if I talk about government spending. Because, as we all know, being pro-life or anti-reckless government spending is very clearly “racist.” I mean, what liberal doesn’t know that?

Why talk about the facts when you can talk about something else instead?

So all the time I respond to liberals, carefully try to interact with and refute their arguments, and it’s like I haven’t said anything, or maybe like I’m writing in a different, incomprehensible language.

I get very bored very quickly arguing with somebody who doesn’t bother to even acknowledge anything I say. I start thinking about all the things I could be doing that would be far more productive usages of my time.

Again, that’s pretty much just par for the course of being a conservative blogger.

Instead of my being a “complete racist” you have me being a “complete douchebag” instead. Not really a lot of difference. Certainly the same hatred of actually bothering to present some kind of argument or claim backed by any kind of facts whatsoever.

Given that the ENTIRE content of your post was a personal attack devoid of any kind of argument whatsoever or presentation of facts as to exactly why I’m a “complete douchebag” (beyond “it takes one to know on,”), I believe I’ve already heard the sum total of all that you are intellectually capable of. I have a very clear sense that the only way I could argue with you on your level would be if I started chanting, “I know you are but what am I?” And unlike you I managed to grow out of that stage quite a long time ago. So buh-bye.
