The Hell With It. Let’s Just Go Off The Damn Fiscal Cliff. Because You Just Can’t Negotiate With These People.

I just got through writing an article calling for a compromise on the tax hike Obama is demanding.  I already have to eat my words.

It is frankly hard to believe how pathologically Democrats prove themselves to be on a constant basis, even as much as I distrust Democrats and call them liars to their faces.

Realize that Democrats – and particularly Obama – have been saying that we need to hike taxes on the rich.  In order to do what?  In order to reduce the deficit, they said.  A nice, noble-sounding reason.  I mean, how can you possibly be against wanting to reduce the deficit???

Here’s a headline of Obama demagoguging tax hikes on the rich under the pretense that it would be to reduce the deficit:

Obama proposes $1.5tn tax hike to cut deficit
US president announces a number of measures aimed at reducing deficit in next 10 years, saying rich should pay more tax.
Last Modified: 19 Sep 2011

Here’s Obama over a year later, preaching the same message:

Obama says deficit plan must include higher taxes for wealthy
By Amie Parnes and Russell Berman – 11/09/12 03:51 PM ET

President Obama called on Congress on Friday to reduce the deficit in “a balanced and responsible way” in his first public remarks since winning reelection.

The president said Congress should extend the current tax rates for 98 percent of Americans, but raise taxes on households with annual income of more than $250,000.

Obama did not talk about higher tax rates in his speech, but said he would not accept a deal that cut spending and entitlements but did not ask wealthier households to pay more taxes.

“If we’re serious about reducing the deficit, we have to combine spending cuts with revenue and that means asking the wealthiest Americans to pay a little more in taxes,” Obama said. “That’s how we did it in the 1990s when Bill Clinton was president, that’s how we can reduce the deficit while still making the investments we need to build a strong middle class and a strong economy.”

But Democrats are LIARS and you simply cannot do a deal with these liars because they have no integrity at all in any way, shape or form.

Take a look at this:

Senate Democrats say deficit package must include stimulus
By Alexander Bolton – 11/14/12 01:42 PM ET

Senate Democrats, feeling confident from their net gain of two seats in last week’s election, say any deficit-reduction package negotiated in the coming weeks must include stimulus measures.

They have yet to decide which prime-the-pump measures to push, but are mulling options such as new infrastructure spending and an extension of the payroll tax holiday.

Some Republicans are likely to balk at the notion that a package to cut the deficit would include new spending. But Democrats argue the No. 1 concern for voters is job creation and that the government needs to take a more aggressive role in spurring the economy.

“We need to do something on stimulus as part of the overall fiscal cliff,” said Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), the Senate Democrats’ chief political strategist. “We have to do something because the economy is not growing fast enough in the first year or two.”

Democrats are liars, and they are particularly liars ANYTIME they say ANYTHING about cutting government spending.  Period.

Obama is the selfsame president who promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term and instead tripled that deficit.  And now they’re already at it again just days since they ran a campaign based entirely on lies.

Democrats are now implicitly acknowledging that the “hike taxes so we can pay down the deficit” was a lie and a ruse from the deceitful party of lies and ruses.  Now they’re saying, “People who believe what we say are fools, so we have no qualms about lying in every single ‘promise’ we make.  We’ll promise one thing and then do another, and if you’re dumb enough to believe us then doom on you!”

Here’s another headline to show you just how damn far Obama is from “compromise” while he demonizes the Republicans for not compromising:

Obama Demands $1.6 Trillion More In Taxes Posted
by Adam English on the Wealth Wire
Wednesday, November 14th, 2012

President Obama will begin budget negotiations on Friday morning but moving twice as far away from Republican interests. Instead of the $800 billion in extra federal revenue from tax hikes,Obama will be calling for a whopping $1.6 trillion.

On the other side of the table, House Speaker John Boehner hasn’t specified a revenue target, but he has said he would be willing to accept new tax revenues. He is still unwilling to consider higher tax rates.

As a condition for the possible concession, Boehner continues to insist that Democrats accept structural changes to entitlement programs which are causing long-term budget concerns.

President Obama just attended a meeting with union officials and other activists and will be meeting with CEOs of a dozen companies today. Many executives have already voiced grave concerns about the consequences of the looming standoff over the fiscal cliff.

73% of participants of a Wall Street Journal CEO conference earlier this week said their primary concern was the fiscal cliff.

How the hell do you actually move TWICE as far away to the left from your previous bargaining posture while simultaneously self-congratulating yourself for “compromising” and demonizing the party that HASN’T moved twice as far to the right on their bargaining position?  I don’t know, but with the help of the worst media propaganda since Goebbels, Obama has managed to do it.

Statement of fact: “The offer is twice as high as a deal Obama scuttled last year, suggesting he may be prepared to let talks fail again.”  That deal – which took Boehner to the breaking point – called for $800 billion in tax hikes.  Now Obama is demanding tax hikes that will be TWICE as high as last time.  While somehow trying to simultaneously claim that HE is the one willing to compromise!

Republicans – you know – “the obstructionists” – have offered Obama revenues that match what he says he needs by eliminating and/or capping deductions.  And it turns out that Obama HIMSELF has argued that what the Republicans are proposing is a solution:

The idea of curbing tax breaks isn’t new. Tax policy experts have touted it for  years and Democrats, including President Obama, have proposed it in one form or  another. That’s why it may offer a key to resolving the fiscal cliff.

So this isn’t about raising revenue; this is about targeting one group of people to punish them for daring to try to be successful in America.  This is about an out-of-control government demanding more and more control.  This is about pure demagoguery, pure and simple.

The fact of the matter is that Obama has DOUBLED DOWN on his demand while the Republicans have offered a surprising concession in being willing to increase government revenues.  But because we live in a world that Joseph Goebbels would love, the media STILL portrays Obama as the man who is “compromising” even though he is in fact demanding TWICE as much and the Republicans as “obstructionists” even though they are massively compromising.

I’m not the only human being who can see the massive, galling, astonishing hypocrisy and dishonesty from the Democrat Party, am I?

It doesn’t matter if the Republicans come to the table willing to compromise or not; they are demonized anyway, just the same.  So why compromise?

If Democrats want tax hikes, let’s give them to EVERYBODY.  If you want somebody else to pay more taxes, dammit, YOU should pay higher taxes.

I was looking for some way forward for Republicans and some way out of this fiscal cliff mess.  But let’s just go off that damn cliff.  Because there is no possible way to negotiate with people as deceitful and dishonest and disingenuous as Democrats have proven themselves to be.  And because “the cliff” can’t be any worse than the direction Obama wants to take America, anyway.

“I’m not the only human being who can see the massive, galling, astonishing hypocrisy and dishonesty from the Democrat Party, am I?”

No, Michael you are not. There are many of us who see the Democrats for who they are. We just can’t overcome them, win and restrain them at this point. This past election proves that. Bad people who vote, coupled with Democrat voting fraud all enabled by the corrupt main stream media have done us in.

Obama and his ilk have been empowered by ‘winning’ the election and they are more unbearable than ever……..if that’s even possible.
    It is painful beyond words.

Hang on to the Lord Jesus and prepare ones family as much as possible.

Thanks, HL. I live in California, and it’s like Lot in Sodom being a conservative here. The culture here is so fixated on being whatever the postmoderns call “trying to be cool” these days. I swear Hollywood must be shooting out some kind of brain-rotting ray or something (hey! I know what I can do! I could wear tinfoil on my head to BLOCK the rays!). Or not. People have to watch the cool shows, have the cool iPad thingy and the cool iPod thingy, wear appropriately cool clothing, worry about whether you have sufficiently cool friends, drive the cool car, and pretty much drill a hole in your skull if that’s what it takes to be cool. And I tell you what: we’d be about three minutes from tinfoil caps being the IN thing in California if the haught culture started wearing them and they started selling them in stores.

It’s not like these a lot of these people actually have “opinions.” They think whatever the cool people think because cool people all think the same way. And by the way that is the more far-out liberal, the better. Because the cool people said so. So if you ask them any questions about WHY they think whatever they think because that’s what the cool people think, all these people have is gibberish: because the cool people whose opinion they worship didn’t bother to give them any actual reasons.

How in the hell could you reason with these people???

That’s why it’s my goal to try to think more about how the Bible prophecies are about to get up close and personal.

  4. Michael Eden Says:

Thanks for that. Pretty darn good.

My view of liberalism has really always been “they WON’T own it.” Liberalism being the most gutless slimy oozy meaningless position imaginable: “just let the government spend more money on everything and raise taxes on people we demonize as necessary.” They stand for EVERYTHING as long as it’s somebody else’s money or they can make it appear to be somebody else’s fault. They stand for NOTHING in terms of taking responsibility for their positions. They’re for the environment; it doesn’t matter if what they support kills jobs and hurts little people. While of course claiming they’re for the little people and for more job creation.

I started reading that book by Folsom. I am not too far into it, and I am already starting to seethe. This is probably not a good thing, considering that I am now just starting to get over the election. LOL!

One thing that I don’t think a lot of people realize is that FDR served four terms, even though his fourth was short lived, as he died 4 months into it. This has me thinking that this possibly might not be Obama’s last. In fact, we may never get this tyrant out until he truly destroys this nation. While I don’t think that he is the antichrist, I am starting to believe that he will play a very large role in bring him in. Oh, my…… those that voted for this clown are truly deceived and are in for a very rude awakening. Some days I wake up and can’t hardly believe this is happening.

  7. FMC Says:

I find it hard to believe that Romney did not manage one vote in those precincts. It would be really nice if any voter who voted for Romney in any of those precincts spoke up. Although I can’t prove it, this smells of fraud and, knowing democrats, this would not surprise me one bit. Romney definitely had the deck stacked against him in this one.

  8. The Dauntless Conservative Says:

MichaelE; Once we have enough able bodied people on welfare, it is like snowball going downhill…can’t stop it and hard to reverse. They will vote who will provide them a check; it is a conflict of interest on the largest scale imaginable. However, one cure I would like to see, with the layoffs pending and happening as I write this, I would like to see obamarx voters be the first to be laid off from their job.

  9. Michael Eden Says:

Do I think that the Democrats cheated and in fact cheated as much as they could? Absolutely. But the turnout for Obama was also clearly larger than what we’d thought it would be, too.

A polling dude on Fox said that a hundred thousand votes in four states would have made the difference in the election, so, yes, fraud is possible.

But at this point, let’s say we PROVED fraud and even proved that fraud affected the outcome. I STILL don’t think we’d get a different president. So I’m just not going to spend my time worrying about the fraud, myself.

  10. Michael Eden Says:

The sheer stupidity of FDR and of the American people during the 1930s is simply astonishing. According to two UCLA economists from their study, FDR caused the American peoeple an extra seven full years of depression suffering. And of course he’s still revered and admired for all the suffering that he himself caused. Amity Shlaes is another brilliant economist who’s work (and whose book, “The Forgotten Man”) has caused many to realize that YOU CAN’T TAX YOUR WAY OR GOVERNMENT-SPEND YOUR WAY OUT OF A DAMN RECESSION. When government goes into a spending binge, it sucks up all the resources that would have been used by more aware private market people who are closer to “reality” and now can’t spend and can’t hire because the government is the 5,000 lb gorilla in the room. Government CAN’T do it and the private economy WON’T try to do it until government QUITS trying to do it and gets the hell out of the damn way. That’s what year after year after grinding year of the Great Depression proved to anyone with any sense of reality.

And here we are today, even more incredibly stupid than we were during the 1930s when damn were we ever incredibly stupid. Only now it’s far, FAR worse, because we’re off the gold standard or frankly any damn standard at all and we can create money merely by adding zeroes to the Fed computers.

And if the poor just understood that Obama has been worse for them since anyone BUT FDR. Obama is going to destroy America because the American people VOTED for him to destroy America. There are plenty of liberals who understand that and are licking their chops at the prospect of “fundamentally transforming” America into a Marxist state. But most are just too stupid and too ignorant to be able to think past the socialist talking points that culture masquerades and demagogues as “fact.”

My view at this point is that I’m a Christian and my citizenship is in heaven. If “Americans” want to implode their economy and take the mark of the beast, well, all I could do was try to warn them. I don’t “root” for America to collapse – particularly while I and my family are standing on part of it – and I don’t spend time hoping that bad things happen to people. But I’m getting ready for truly bad times until Christ comes to save me from what depraved America voted for.

  11. Michael Eden Says:

This election was like a tsunami that dredged up millions of tons of raw filthy sewage with it. And part of that toxic slime was most certainly fraud. Now THAT probably has the virtue of being an original analogy.

  12. Michael Eden Says:

Your view is where I am. This nation is in FAR worse trouble than I imagined, simply because the worse the economy gets under Democrat policies, quite literally the more people will vote for Democrats to give them more welfare to cope with the economic travesty that Democrats have wrought. It is like a reciprocating engine whose every piston stroke forces America down further and further: More Obama equals more economic hardship. More economic hardship so more Obama welfare. More Obama equals more economic hardship. More economic hardship so more Obama welfare….

  13. The Dauntless Conservative Says:

MichaelE: RE:”More Obama equals more economic hardship. More economic hardship so more Obama welfare….”

It was planned they way by the egregious left for years. This is the demoncrat’ economy; they own it lock, stock and barrel.

  14. Michael Eden Says:

This is the demoncrat’ economy; they own it lock, stock and barrel.

The thing that has left me astounded is that I don’t believe it matters any more.

The American people just decided that the worst economy since the Great Depression is good enough for them. They said they don’t need a functioning economy; they’ve got Obama now.

  15. HL Says:

Me too, Michael. I am sickened, saddened and astounded that fellow Americans want Obama and what he is doing to us. The America I have known, loved and been very grateful for is gone.

    Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

  16. Michael Eden Says:

I’m actually beginning to get over it. I tried to fight against evil politically and I lost, because God has decreed that we are truly in the last days and the beast is coming precisely BECAUSE we’re to that point where evil is allowed to politically triumph in a democratic vote of the people.

We can look at these people as “evil,” or we can look at them as slaves of Satan who have been blinded by the god of this world. And think more about trying to preach the gospel to a desperately lost generation than we think about trying to restore America. America isn’t in the Bible and you can very clearly see WHY America isn’t in the Bible now; it won’t be any significant participant in the last days because it simply will not be a strong enough force to matter.

It’s a process for me – it’s not easy for me to change my basic purpose for blogging on a dime – but I’m trying to shake the dust of America off the soles of my shoes and think not as a citizen of a nation that has just voted to slit its own throat but rather as a citizen of heaven.
