Obama’s Visit To Hollywood Dream Works Shows That His Dream Doesn’t WORK

November 29, 2013

So Obama goes to überliberal Hollywood, home of the überrich white hypocrites who get paid millions, shirk on their taxes, take every tax dodge known to man on the taxes they DO bother to pay, while self-righteously declaring that the Middle Class should suck it up and render to Obama what is due to him (i.e. everything, because of course we owe everything to Obama and his big government State).  And the Los Angeles Times celebrates the moment with its title, “Obama visits DreamWorks, calls Hollywood a ‘bright spot’ of economy.”

Mind you, these are the people who make movie after movie making themselves rich glorifying gun violence only to tell us that we have to give up our guns – the same guns that Hollywood liberals and their Hollywood-Liberal-in-Chief rely upon to protect themselves while doing every damn thing they can to deny that protection to everyone else.

Which is why examples of Hollywood hypocrisy abound.  And so:

The American Federation of Musicians is fighting mad at their Hollywood paymasters. What could separate these two institutions of liberalism? Cash, of course. AFM is upset that Marvel’s Iron Man 3 decided to go abroad to use foreign musicians for cheap. John Acosta, vice president of AFM Local 47, summed up the case against Marvel: “Marvel is unfair to musicians because they take tax breaks from states but when it comes to doing a score for their movies, they outsource the work overseas. We’ve been protesting and raising the alarm about this over two years since Iron Man 1 and we feel those jobs belong in the US.”

For years, individual states have been reaching out to the film industry in an attempt to woo Hollywood dollars. Recognizing the business-hating climate of Los Angeles, even liberal governors are trying to outcompete the Hollywood locals by handing out tax breaks and incentives

To be a liberal is to be a hypocrite who says, “What I want to impose upon thee is not good for me.”  So I’ll follow the example of my hypocrite Democrat Party and pass a “health care reform” law that screws everybody else but vote myself safe from it’s grasp.

But there was this admission buried in the back of the LA Times article even as it attempted to glorify President False Messiah:

Obama’s visit and upbeat message about the entertainment industry come at a  time of widespread anxiety among the middle-class crew members in Southern  California who work behind the scenes on films and TV shows.

Many have seen job  opportunities and incomes dwindle as work has migrated to other  states and countries that offer film productions tax breaks and incentives better than  those available in California.

“Some indicators suggest that activity in the entertainment industry is up,  but that has not translated into jobs here in California,” said Robert Kleinhenz, chief economist with the Los Angeles  County Economic Development Corp. “In fact, the number of industry-related jobs  locally and in California has shown little improvement since the recession, even  as industry employment nationally has increased modestly over the past couple of  years.”

More than 50 visual effects workers held a rally outside the studio to call  attention to the plight of California’s visual effects industry, which has been  hard-hit by layoffs, foreign subsidies and the outsourcing of jobs.

DreamWorks itself, which employs 2,200 people, laid off about 350 employees  earlier this year after a decision to shelve production of the movie “Me and My  Shadow,” but that layoff was not tied to outsourcing.

“This is not an attack on DreamWorks Animation or Obama, but we do not have  jobs coming to us. They are all going to other countries,” said Tom Capizzi, a  longtime visual effects employee who in February lost his job at Rhythm &  Hues. “It’s having a huge impact on the workers of Los Angeles.”

Obama was in L.A. on the last leg of a three-day West Coast tour to raise  money for Democratic House and Senate candidates. His itinerary included two fundraisers Monday night, one at the home  of athlete and entrepreneur Magic  Johnson and another at the home of Hollywood mogul Haim Saban, who is  chairman of Spanish-language channel Univision  Communications Inc. On Tuesday morning, the president attended a Democratic  fundraiser at the Hancock Park home of Marta Kauffman, co-creator of the  television show “Friends.”

What happens when a socialist president imposes high taxes?  Hollywood liberals put their money in foreign projects so they won’t have to pay out their wazoos, that’s what happens.

It’s only wrong when the Koch brothers do it, though, in the minds of sanctimonious, self-righteous, pathologically hypocritical liberals.

Liberal-dominated California is too morally stupid to ever understand that high taxes equal low growth and low growth equals no damn jobs.

That’s the beauty of ObamaCare right now: all the quintessentially self-centered liberals who were fine with somebody ELSE getting royally screwed are now appalled – APPALLED! – that they’re the ones getting screwed, too.

Liberal labor unions are the worst (because they’re the most liberal, and the more liberal you are, the more despicable and depraved a human being you are): they are beyond outraged that they would have to suffer the results of their own damn FASCISM that they worked so hard to impose on everyone else.  How DARE you not exempt them???

Every liberal who votes that SOMEBODY ELSE pay higher taxes is nothing more than a hypocrite who is willing to undermine American productivity so they can feel warm inside.  They would do better to just pee in their pants instead; that way they can have all the feeling of “warmth” they want without inflicting their childish stupidity on everybody else.

If you want an industry to be able to succeed, LOWER THEIR DAMN TAXES so they can actually keep their profits.  If you want the American people to be allowed to prosper, LOWER THEIR DAMN TAXES.

It is so damn simple: Tax Cuts Increase Revenues; They Have ALWAYS Increased Revenues.

The Lost Washer, The Ruptured Tendon And The LORD Who Is God Over Both. A Story of Thanksgiving Gratitude.

November 28, 2013

This happened last week, but I think that’s close enough to call it “my Thanksgiving miracle.”

It began with my biceps tendon basically standing in front of an ObamaCare-like death panel.  I was told several weeks back that my biceps tendon had ruptured and that it was too late to save it.  Yes, I’d rather frantically called the morning after the injury, but of course given the state-of-affairs of modern medicine and the bureaucracy which owns it, by the time I actually saw the doctor, he told me it was too late.

I am a service-connected veteran with traumatic and cumulative and degenerative injuries to both knees and both shoulders.  So this isn’t a story of “that evil insurance company.”  This is THE GOVERNMENT.

The doctor told me the story of Brett Favre, who had suffered this injury during his career and had not had the reattachment surgery, and that I didn’t really need to have the tendon reattached.

Continuing with the “ObamaCare death panel” theme, the surgeon also pointedly told me that, “In Europe, they don’t even reattach those any more.”

I had tried to reason with the surgeon – who as the attending physician actually runs the ortho department at my VA hospital.  As for the Brett Favre story, I countered with the fact that Hall of Fame defensive back Ronnie Lott famously had a broken finger amputated rather than miss playing time the same way Favre elected to play with a busted tendon rather than miss playing time  – and so should average people have whatever limb on which they happen to suffer a broken bone AMPUTATED?  I hope not.  As for the “Europe” thing, I pointed out the fact that “THIS IS NOT EUROPE!”  And while my dad was too young to fight in WWII, I actually had a three uncles who fought in that war to ensure that America would NOT become Europe.

Apparently, they lost the war sixty years after they thought they’d won it, but that’s another story.

The ortho doctor acknowledged that a few years ago, they would have reattached the tendon no-questions asked (i.e., BEFORE Obama), but that things had changed quite a bit.

Mark Halperin is one of the leading journalists in America today.  He also leans well to the left.  So it was quite an admission when he acknowledged that not only did ObamaCare contain death panels, but that they are a cornerstone of ObamaCare.

Howard Dean, a former Democrat governor, a medical doctor and an expert in health care – albeit a doctrinaire liberal ideologue – has also acknowledged that, yes, the ObamaCare IPAB amounts to a “death panel.”  And so, yes:

Shorter Howard Dean: “So… yeah, Republicans were right about death panels.”

Just as they were dead right about how catastrophically awful this ObamaCare law would be.

I was stunned when the attending orthopedic surgeon said they would not reattach my tendon.  I mean, what do you mean, you don’t need to do this surgery?  I was saying, “I’m busted; FIX ME!”  I had never had anything like this happen before.

ObamaCare is all about rationing.  It is all about Marxist redistribution, acknowledges and actually BOASTS the New York Times.  It is intended to create “winners and losers.”

Milton Friedman observed that if you put the government in charge of the Sahara desert, in five years there would be a shortage of sand.  So what will necessarily happen when you put a bunch of statist bureaucrats in charge of health care?  We already know the answer.

And believe me, NOBODY wants to be a health care “loser.”  Especially because of a law that MAKES you a “loser” when you’ve never been one before out of naked, cynical political calculus.  Especially when you are service-connected by your government for the infamous “pre-existing conditions” that you can’t have taken care of anywhere else.

When I continued to object the “death panel” decision, the chief ortho doctor told me he would leave the decision to the surgeon who would be operating on me, but he didn’t see it happening or even the need for it.

Well, I was rather panicky about this.  Aside from the whole “Popeye biceps” deformity (which so far hasn’t seriously manifested itself), there’s a significant loss in strength because a tendon no longer connects your muscle to what you’re trying to lift.  As a weightlifter, it was the loss of strength that I feared more than anything else.  I didn’t want to go through a surgery only to be mediocre.

Weightlifting has been the centerpiece of my highly successful weight loss (76 lbs in 14 months without stomach “Lap-band” surgery).  If preventative care is important, if weight loss is important, just give me the tools I need to maintain that weight loss.  Because what happens to people is that they become frustrated, then they give in to a feeling of futility, and then they give up altogether.

That’s why this biceps tendon deal has been such a critical concern for me.

Well, after my appointment with that surgeon, I was rather frantically trying to figure out my next option.  And a wise Christian medical doctor friend gave me some wise counsel: to see the doctor who would be doing my surgery as quickly as possible and appeal to him (rather than start a war with the bureaucracy through hospital patient advocates, etc.).  I made an appointment.

For two weeks I angsted as I waited to see the surgeon.  Given what I had already heard from his boss, I was very fearful.  And I knew that time was tendon, because the longer you wait the more a ruptured tendon shortens and contracts.  And the story becomes, “Well, sorry, but we waited too long dithering, so now it’s too late for us to fix you.  Too bad, so sad.”

We get a picture how ObamaCare will “save” money.  By rationing and denying care to people who need it, surgeries and treatment that used to happen doesn’t any happen any longer.  And that’s great – unless the rationing axe falls upon you or one of your loved ones.

Anyway, I’m at Tuesday of last week, with the all-important appointment with my surgeon on Thursday morning.  And I’m on my daily walk as usual.

Remember, I said I was messed up in both shoulders and both knees.  To take some of the stress off my awful knees, I use a pair of canes when I go on long walks out in the desert.  Which of course torques my shoulders, doesn’t it?  But I need to walk because that’s been a major part of the 76 pounds of weight that I’ve lost over the last fourteen months.  So I’ve got a Catch-22 thing going, don’t I?

Anyway, near the end of my walk – which that day was over five miles – I noticed that one of my cane tips had ruptured rather like my biceps tendon.  I put large washers in the tip to help the rubber tips last longer, and the washer was gone somewhere out in the vastness of the desert.

Well, I’m usually able to eyeball the cane tip and see that it’s about to wear out and rupture in time to replace it.  But let’s just say that I’d been occupied with other concerns.

I could go to the hardware store and buy some washers, but I’ve always used the few that I had in my garage that matched the diameter of the cane tip.

Well, I wanted to find my washer.  Which was God-only-knew-where.  So as I set out on my walk the next day, I tried to retrace my steps as best I could and said a prayer that I could find it.

As I prayed, it popped into my head to point out to God that I wanted my biceps tendon far more than I wanted that washer (just in case He didn’t know).  But I had that moment of theological clarity strike me that God wasn’t the sort who would only grant me one request.

That Wednesday, I walked along with my nose to the ground like a bloodhound.  A mile passed, then two.  And I was entering an area where there was a lot of soft sand where the tip would have likely become covered up and I’d never see it.  To make it worse, because of the soft sand, I’d meandered through that area – and good luck trying to remember the exact same route.

I kind of gave up finding that washer at that point.

Financially, it was hardly a big deal; I could go to a hardware store and probably find an even better-fitting washer for fifteen or twenty cents at most.  But for whatever reason, I had kind of associated that lost washer with my busted biceps tendon.  So it was kind of sad to let that washer go.

It was within a few feet of giving up on finding that washer that I came upon some 9mm pistol brass.  I reload ammunition in several calibers – 9mm Parabellum being one of them – and my nephew (who would be coming out for Christmas) always loves to go shooting.  So I bent over to pick up the brass.

Somebody had popped of most of a box, so I’m furiously picking up the brass.  And I turned around and walked back up the path I had just come down as I see more brass…

… And yes, there was my washer – which I had already walked by and had not seen, and which I never would have seen had I not been looking for that 9mm brass which hadn’t even BEEN there the day before (or I would have collected it then).  The washer was dull and faded; the brass was new and shiny.  I needed the latter in order to find the former.

I immediately realized what had happened and why it had happened:

God had heard my silly prayer for that silly washer.  And God knew that in my silly heart, I had connected something I clearly didn’t need to find with something far more important to me.  And He was telling me that He had me covered, that He knew what I needed – and that He was Jehovah Jireh (the LORD who provides).

And when you’ve got that kind of a God in control, watching your back, taking care of you, why are you so anxious???

I realized that the decision whether to repair my ruptured biceps tendon wasn’t up to the doctors.  Because if God wanted me to have that tendon, it was going to be restored no matter what the doctor said; and if He didn’t want me to have it, I wasn’t going to get it reattached no matter what the surgeon tried to do.  It wasn’t my surgeon I had to convince; it was my God – the very same God who cared enough about me to allow me to find a silly washer in the middle of a desert just because for whatever silly reason it mattered to me.

It’s one thing to look at the vastness of the sky at night and see the billions of stars; it’s quite another to realize that that very same God actually gives a damn about YOU.

I’ve lost – and FOUND – stuff that was valuable and irreplaceable after desperately praying about it.

It’s an interesting thing: if you are the kind of person who doesn’t believe, the biggest answered prayer in the world won’t matter; if you are the kind of person who believes, the smallest answered prayer can seem huge.

God gives us small things to see how we’ll handle big things.  Maybe He gives us small miracles to see how we’ll handle big ones.

All I know is that I had an audience with God, Creator of heaven and earth and all the stars that fill the sky.  And He heard very little, very insignificant little me about something as tiny and irrelevant as a lost washer because He cares about me more than I will ever be able to comprehend.

When I went to that appointment with that surgeon the next morning, I had no fear, no anxiety.

I had already prepared myself during the previous two weeks with every argument I could think of for why I needed and deserved that tendon reattachment surgery.  I would submit that if a high-priced attorney had been present with me, he wouldn’t have had more arguments to muster than what I had thought up.

And what did the surgeon say when I told him I wanted that surgery?

“Sure.  We’ll try to do that for you.”

Here I was with all my arguments and I didn’t even get to use them.

There are a couple of down sides that the surgeon explained to me: because this tendon is ruptured, they’ll have to do an incision rather than doing it with the arthroscope the way they would have been if it had still been attached.  That means that they won’t be able to repair the torn rotator cuff I also have in that shoulder in the same surgery because when they scope a joint, they fill it with fluid to clear space for their instruments.  And that fluid creates a lot of swelling.  Which means that if they do the rotator cuff first, they’d create too much swelling to be able to find the biceps tendon; but if they do the incision to fix the biceps tendon, the fluid and the corresponding swelling would rupture the sutures.  He also told me that he couldn’t guarantee that the reattachment surgery would be successful because sometimes the tendon is just too damaged.

Here’s the thing: I realized that the condition of my tendon is up to God.  Just as everything else was.

I told that story to a friend who told me his own “mini-miracle” story.  He had been arrested for a DUI (bad thing) and had his little dog in the car with him.  The police had kenneled the dog and towed his car.  His sister came to pick him up, but for whatever reason had refused to take the dog.  He’d have to leave it.

Well, he wouldn’t leave his dog.  He told her he’d rather walk.  So she drove off.  And he had to walk miles across an isolated Texas highway out in the middle of nowhere.  In the heat of the desert.

He came to a point of desperation.  He and the dog were thirsty.

What happened?  In the middle of nowhere he came across a gallon of water and a five dollar bill.  The presence of the bill particularly freaked him out: because there was a wind and the bill should have blown away, but didn’t.  Who had put that there and why?  Only God knew.

But God is Jehovah Jireh.

The water helped him make it to a gas station way, way up the road, where he was able to trade his five dollars for a ride.

I don’t know what will happen, but I have a feeling and an attitude of confidence about the success of the surgery (my pre-op is January 14).

Strangely, had I just been allowed to have the surgery, rather than having to angst about just getting it, I realize that my attitude wouldn’t have been nearly so positive.  I would have been focusing on the surgery and the recovery and bemoaning the fact that the tendon had ruptured and the fact that had the doctors just told me what I’d needed to know before I’d ruptured it I would have at that time requested the reattachment surgery as opposed to waiting until it was nearly too late.  I would have been looking at all the negatives.

As it is, I am very grateful and very thankful.  I am thankful to the Veterans Administration for taking care of me.  But more importantly I am even more thankful to my God who saw me floundering around and provided for me.

Thanksgiving is about being grateful.

Gratitude is the very best and the very happiest attitude that a human being can have.  It is the attitude we should all be walking around with all the time.  But for most of us (like me) we need reminders.

I wish you all a happy and a grateful Thanksgiving Day.  I pray that you have a sense of Jehovah Jireh specially looking out for you today.

Update, February 5, 2014: Well, I had my surgery.  And a couple more divine lessons.

I now realize that my “washer” story was my audience with God.  He gave me a divine appointment because He wanted me to know a few things.

On that day, that God told me that 1) He truly does care (cf. 1 Peter 5:7); that 2) if He cares even about my stupid washer, it is obvious that He will care about something I truly care about, such as my biceps tendon surgery; and that 3) whether the surgery is successful or not has nothing to do with the doctors and ultimately everything to do with God.  Because He can do anything and if He wants me to have that tendon, I WILL HAVE THAT TENDON.

He since let me know how to turn even the result of the surgery over to Him.

On the one hand, I knew that if the surgery was successful, it would be a long recovery.  On the other hand, I learned that if the tendon was too destroyed and contracted to do the surgery, it would be a short recovery and I would be able to get back to my [relatively] normal activities very quickly.  What I didn’t want was to make the short-sighted mistake of not having the surgery because of the short-term hassles, only to then regret later that I didn’t do it.  I was [finally!] able to completely turn it over to the Lord, and give it to HIM and let HIM decide.

So I went into the surgery with the peace of Christ, which surpasses all comprehension.

I woke up and the surgeon gave me the news.  The surgery was a complete success.  Somehow – and I got the sense that this was very surprising to the surgeon – my tendon had in fact ruptured, but had somehow become hung-up on the bone, such that it was EASY to find and such that it didn’t contract the way it otherwise would have.

He did the surgery in less than HALF the time he believed it would take.

Just like the washer, that “hung-up” tendon was GOD at work.

Now all I have to do is heal up and start rehabbing.

The title says it all.

We miss you, JFK.

We also miss your vision – which centered on tax cuts as the key to all future American prosperity versus the slavery of the communism you fought.

Too bad we’ve got such an incompetent lying jerk disgracing your office now.

The Democrats’ Nuclear Option Is Treasonous. Don’t Take My Word For It – Listen To Obama And Other Democrats Blast WHAT THEY JUST DID

November 22, 2013

Today we mourn the assassination of John F. Kennedy – a conservative who believed in a) low taxes and b) a strong and in-your-face military that contrary to Democrat cowardice confronted evil – by a leftist/communist/Stalinist thug.

It is ironic that while we mourn the murder of one of our greatest presidents, we also mourn the murder of our democracy after Senate Democrats with Obama’s Stalinist approval invoked the “nuclear option” to “fundamentally transform” the American political system.

Please note that the Republicans DID NOT invoke the nuclear option when they could have done so when they faced the exact same situation from Democrats who were doing the same thing they now demonize Republicans for doing.  The Party of Lincoln stepped back from the fascist precipice that Democrats just dived over – amazingly right after they were caught in the most massive lie and the most massive socialist conspiracy ever to threaten our Republic via the ObamaCare meltdown.

A couple of quotes FROM LIBERAL SOURCES SUCH AS THE NEW YORK TIMES:

Cumulatively, recent developments surrounding the rollout of Obamacare strengthen the most damaging conservative portrayals of liberalism and of big government – that on one hand government is too much a part of our lives, too invasive, too big, too scary, too regulatory, too in your face, and on the other hand it is incompetent, bureaucratic and expropriatory.

And The Hill citing a bunch of Democrats:

“Here we are, we’re supposed to be selling this to people, and it’s all screwed up,” one chief of staff ranted. “This either gets fixed or this could be the demise of the Democratic Party.

“It’s probably the worst I’ve ever seen it,” the aide said of the recent mood on Capitol Hill. “It’s bad. It’s really bad.”

And what do Democrats do during this crisis?  They do what Hitler and Stalin did: they seize dictatorial power.  At the very moment that non-Nazis would have recognized their failure and stepped back.

So what are Nazi Democrats doing?  They are in their “Hitler-in-his-bunker” mode and they want as much damn  Nazi control as they can get.  Because only unelected “judges” that Obama can appoint thanks to their invocation of nuclear warfare in the U.S. Senate to further warp and pervert the meaning of our democracy and our Constitution can save their sorry fascist asses now.

Democrats are, for the official record, the party that BEGAN the vicious partisan warfare over judicial nominations when they invented the term “Borking” to prevent a good man from being a judge.  Now they’re furious that Republicans would dare to do what they started.  So they invoke the nuclear option – which I guarantee you they will decry when Republicans ensure that Democrat tyranny becomes the new national norm.

This is a rule that had endured for 200 years.  And Democrats have just “fundamentally transformed” America’s political system into one of pure lawlessness.  And a lawless hypocrite president endorsed it because he knows that this is his one chance to impose his agenda before the American people have a chance to vote.

Democrats are fascists.  To paraphrase Obama, they are fascists “period.”  “End of story.”  And “no one will be able to take the stink of naked fascism away from the Democrat Party, no matter what.”

We just had the White House Correspondents’ Association and 37 different news organizations decry Obama’s Stalinist propaganda and essentially scream to Obama’s promise of “transparency” that he is a naked liar.  The  American Society of News Editors and the Associated Press Media Editors sent a letter to the White House that underscores the fact that they are finally becoming aware that they’ve spent the last five years as the useful idiots of a genuinely evil man.  “We must accept that we, the press, have been enablers,” the letter says.  “You are only seeing what they want you to see,” we learn.  Which is the essence of Stalinist propaganda.

In 2005, Then-Sen. Barack Obama Called For His Colleagues Considering The Nuclear Option To Think About “Protecting Free And Democratic Debate.” SEN. BARACK OBAMA: “Mr. President, I rise today to urge my colleagues to think about the implications of what has been called the nuclear option and what effect that might have on this Chamber and on this country. I urge all of us to think not just about winning every debate but about protecting free and democratic debate.” (Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), Floor Remarks, Washington, DC, 4/13/05)

Obama: “It Certainly Is Not What The Patriots Who Founded This Democracy Had In Mind. We Owe The People Who Sent Us Here More Than That.” SEN. BARACK OBAMA: “Right now we are faced with rising gas prices, skyrocketing tuition costs, a record number of uninsured Americans, and some of the most serious national security threats we have ever had, while our bravest young men and women are risking their lives halfway around the world to keep us safe. These are challenges we all want to meet and problems we all want to solve, even if we do not always agree on how to do it. But if the right of free and open debate is taken away from the minority party and the millions of Americans who ask us to be their voice, I fear the partisan atmosphere in Washington will be poisoned to the point where no one will be able to agree on anything. That does not serve anybody’s best interest, and it certainly is not what the patriots who founded this democracy had in mind. We owe the people who sent us here more than that. We owe them much more.” (Sen. Barack Obama, Floor Remarks, Washington, D.C., 4/13/05)

In 2005, Biden Called The Nuclear Option The “Single Most Significant Vote” In His “32 Years In The Senate” And “An Example Of The Arrogance Of Power.”  SEN. JOE BIDEN: “Mr. President, my friends and colleagues, I have not been here as long as Senator Byrd, and no one fully understands the Senate as well as Senator Byrd, but I have been here for over three decades. This is the single most significant vote any one of us will cast in my 32 years in the Senate. I suspect the Senator would agree with that. We should make no mistake. This nuclear option is ultimately an example of the arrogance of power. It is a fundamental power grab by the majority party, propelled by its extreme right and designed to change the reading of the Constitution, particularly as it relates to individual rights and property rights. It is nothing more or nothing less. … We have been through these periods before in American history but never, to the best of my knowledge, has any party been so bold as to fundamentally attempt to change the structure of this body.” (Sen. Joe Biden, Floor Remarks, Washington, D.C., 5/23/05)

Biden: “I Pray God When The Democrats Take Back Control, We Don’t Make The Kind Of Naked Power Grab You Are Doing.” BIDEN: “Isn’t what is really going on here that the majority does not want to hear what others have to say, even if it is the truth? Senator Moynihan, my good friend who I served with for years, said: You are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts. The nuclear option abandons America’s sense of fair play. It is the one thing this country stands for: Not tilting the playing field on the side of those who control and own the field. I say to my friends on the Republican side: You may own the field right now, but you won’t own it forever. I pray God when the Democrats take back control, we don’t make the kind of naked power grab you are doing. But I am afraid you will teach my new colleagues the wrong lessons.” (Sen. Joe Biden, Floor Remarks, 5/23/05)

Reid, In 2005: “The Filibuster Is Far From A Procedural Gimmick. It’s Part Of The Fabric Of This Institution … Senators Have Used The Filibuster To Stand Up To Popular Presidents, To Block Legislation, And, Yes, Even, As I’ve Stated, To Stall Executive Nominees.” SEN. HARRY REID: “The filibuster is not a scheme and it certainly isn’t new. The filibuster is far from a procedural gimmick. It’s part of the fabric of this institution we call the Senate. It was well-known in colonial legislatures before we became a country, and it’s an integral part of our country’s 214-year history. The first filibuster in the United States Congress happened in 1790. It was used by lawmakers from Virginia and South Carolina who were trying to prevent Philadelphia from hosting the first Congress. Since then, the filibuster has been employed hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of times. It’s been employed on legislative matters, it’s been employed on procedural matters relating to the president’s nominations for Cabinet and sub-Cabinet posts, and it’s been used on judges for all those years. One scholar estimates that 20 percent of the judges nominated by presidents have fallen by the wayside, most of them as a result of filibusters. Senators have used the filibuster to stand up to popular presidents, to block legislation, and, yes, even, as I’ve stated, to stall executive nominees. The roots of the filibuster are found in the Constitution and in our own rules.” (Sen. Harry Reid, Floor Remarks, 5/18/05)

They established a government so that no one person and no single party could have total control. Some in this chamber want to throw out 214 years of Senate history in the quest for absolute power. They want to do away with Mr. Smith, as depicted in that great movie, being able to come to Washington. They want to do away with the filibuster. They think they’re wiser than our founding fathers. I doubt that that’s true.” (Sen. Harry Reid, Floor Remarks, 5/18/05)

Do it the way I want it done. And I guess there were not very many voices on the other side of the aisle that acted the way previous generations of Senators have acted and said: Mr. President, we are with you. We support you. But that is a bridge too far. We cannot go there. You have to restrain yourself, Mr. President. We have confirmed 95 percent of your nominees. And if you cannot get 60 votes for a nominee, maybe you should think about who you are sending to us to be confirmed because for a lifetime appointment, 60 votes, bringing together a consensus of Senators from all regions of the country, who look at the same record and draw the same conclusion, means that perhaps that nominee should not be on the Federal bench.” (Sen. Hillary Clinton, Floor Remarks, 5/23/05)

We are sorry, we cannot go there. We are going to remember our Founders. We are going to remember what made this country great. We are going to maintain the integrity of the U.S. Senate.” (Sen. Pathological Liar Obama Now ‘Brazenly Lying’ About His Own Lies (Obama KNEW ObamaCare Would ‘Transition’ Millions And Lied)

November 19, 2013

Please read this:

Obama’s ‘5 Percent’ Con Job
It’s a 100 percent lie, according to the White House’s own figures.
By  Andrew C. McCarthy

Last Thursday, President Obama purported to undo the “Affordable” Care Act (ACA) mandates that he and congressional Democrats quite intentionally designed to force Americans off their health-insurance policies . . . notwithstanding the president’s promise, repeated over and over again since 2009, that Americans would be able to keep their health-insurance policies. In my weekend column, I argued that Obama’s latest unilateral diktat is lawless and transparently political. With each passing day, however, what becomes more breathtaking is the depth of systematic, calculated lying that went into the extensive — the criminal — Obamacare fraud.

Let’s quickly recap the lawlessness and cynical politics behind Thursday’s pathetic press conference. Obama, who poses as a constitutional-law expert, knows full well that a president has no legal authority to waive statutory mandates. Even if he had such power, moreover, he knows that there is no practical possibility of undoing — within the next few weeks, as the ACA would require — the new arrangements that insurance companies and state regulators spent the last three years structuring to comply with Obamacare mandates. In sum, Obama is well aware that his proposed “fix” is frivolous. His hope is that the country overwhelmingly consists of dolts who are too uninformed to realize that this is the case, and who, with a little help from his media courtiers, can be convinced to blame the insurance companies, rather than the president, for the fact that millions of Americans are losing their coverage under his “reform.”

Now, having covered Thursday’s con job, let’s get back to the overarching Obamacare scheme perpetrated by the president for more than four years — a fraud that, I contend, the Justice Department would not hesitate to prosecute had it been committed by a private-sector executive. I’ve related the standards for criminal and civil enforcement that would militate in favor of prosecution in a case involving the dimension of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty we find here. In addition, NRO’s Andrew Stiles had a superb report on Friday showing the sundry ways the administration’s dysfunctional Obamacare website, HealthCare.gov, runs afoul of various consumer-protection laws. Again, when such infractions are committed by private businesses, the government punishes them quite severely.

We now discover even more evidence of how brazen Obama’s lies have been.

The president claims he truly believed that people would be able to keep plans they liked because Obamacare provides for those plans to be “grandfathered” — exempted from termination. Thus, he insists, he was acting in good faith when he made the promises that people could keep those plans, though he concedes the promises “ended up being inaccurate.”

This is yet another calculated deception, a willful continuation of the fraudulent scheme. The president well knew that, in implementing the “grandfathering” provision, his administration wrote regulations so narrow that tens of millions of existing plans would be eliminated. Congressional Democrats knew this, too: When Republicans endeavored in 2010 to enact legislation that would have broadened the regulation into a meaningful safe harbor, Democrats closed ranks and voted down the proposal – including Democrats such as Senator Mary Landrieu, who now pretends to be a crusader in the cause of letting Americans keep their insurance.

Unable to deny that millions of Americans have lost the coverage he vowed they could keep, Obama and other Democrats are now peddling what we might call the “5 percent” con job. The president asserts that these victims, whom he feels so terribly about, nevertheless constitute a tiny, insignificant minority in the greater scheme of things (“scheme” is used advisedly). They are limited, he maintains, to consumers in the individual health-insurance market, as opposed to the vastly greater number of Americans who get insurance through their employers. According to Obama, these individual-market consumers whose policies are being canceled make up only 5 percent of all health-insurance consumers.

Even this 5 percent figure is a deception. As Avik Roy points out, the individual market actually accounts for 8 percent of health-insurance consumers. Obama can’t help himself: He even minimizes his minimizations. So, if Obama were telling the truth in rationalizing that his broken promises affect only consumers in the individual-insurance market, we’d still be talking about up to 25 million Americans. While the president shrugs these victims off, 25 million exceeds the number of Americans who do not have health insurance because of poverty or preexisting conditions (as opposed to those who could, but choose not to, purchase insurance). Of course, far from cavalierly shrugging off that smaller number of people, Obama and Democrats used them to justify nationalizing a sixth of the U.S. economy.

But that’s not the half of it. Obama’s claim that unwelcome cancellations are confined to the individual-insurance market is another brazen lie. In the weekend column, I link to the excellent work of Powerline’s John Hinderaker, who has demonstrated that, for over three years, the Obama administration’s internal estimates have shown that most Americans who are covered by “employer plans” will also lose their coverage under Obamacare. Mind you, 156 million Americans get health coverage through their jobs.

John cites the Federal Register, dated June 17, 2010, beginning at page 34,552 (Vol. 75, No. 116). It includes a chart that outlines the Obama administration’s projections. The chart indicates that somewhere between 39 and 69 percent of employer plans would lose their “grandfather” protection by 2013. In fact, for small-business employers, the high-end estimate is a staggering 80 percent (and even on the low end, it’s just a shade under half — 49 percent).

That is to say: During all these years, while Obama was repeatedly assuring Americans, “If you like your health-insurance plan, you can keep your health-insurance plan,” he actually expected as many as seven out of every ten Americans covered by employer plans to lose their coverage. For small business, he expected at least one out of every two Americans, or as many as four out of every five, to lose their coverage.

Avik’s eagle eye also catches that, even as Obama was spinning on Thursday about how his broken promise affects only the teeny-weeny individual-insurance market, his administration was telling a much different story to state insurance commissioners. In a letter about Obama’s proposed “fix,” the head of the relevant consumer-information office referred to “all individuals and small businesses that received a cancellation or termination notice with respect to coverage” (emphasis added). This, Avik observes, “contradicts assertions from the administration that only people in the individual market — people who shop for coverage on their own — are affected by the wave of Obamacare-related cancellations.”

It gets worse. My friends at the American Freedom Law Center (on whose advisory board I sit) are representing Priests for Life, a group aggrieved by Obamacare’s denial of religious liberty — specifically, the ACA’s mandate that believers, despite their faith-based objections, provide their employees with coverage for the use of abortifacients and contraceptives. On October 17, the Obama Department of Health and Human Services, represented by the Obama Justice Department, submitted a brief to the federal district court in Washington, opposing Priests for Life’s summary judgment motion. On page 27 of its brief, the Justice Department makes the following remarkable assertion:

The [ACA’s] grandfathering provision’s incremental transition does not undermine the government’s interests in a significant way. [Citing, among other sources, the Federal Register.] Even under the grandfathering provision, it is projected that more group health plans will transition to the requirements under the regulations as time goes on. Defendants have estimated that a majority of group health plans will have lost their grandfather status by the end of 2013.

HHS and the Justice Department cite the same section of the Federal Register referred to by John Hinderaker, as well as an annual survey on “Employer Health Benefits” compiled by the Kaiser Family Foundation in 2012.

So, while the president has been telling us that, under the vaunted grandfathering provision, all Americans who like their health-insurance plans will be able to keep them, “period,” his administration has been representing in federal court that most health plans would lose their “grandfather status” by the end of this year. Not just the “5 percent” of individual-market consumers, but close to all consumers — including well over 100 million American workers who get coverage through their jobs — have been expected by the president swiftly to “transition to the requirements under the [Obamacare] regulations.” That is, their health-insurance plans would be eliminated. They would be forced into Obamacare-compliant plans, with all the prohibitive price hikes and coercive mandates that “transition” portends.

Obamacare is a massive fraudulent scheme. A criminal investigation should be opened. Obviously, the Obama Justice Department will not do that, but the House of Representatives should commence hearings into the offenses that have been committed in the president’s deception of the American people.

— Andrew C. McCarthy is a senior fellow at the National Review Institute. He is the author, most recently, of Spring Fever: The Illusion of Islamic Democracy.

Last week I was riding my exercise bike when I almost fell off of it laughing.  Bill O’Reilly and liberal contributor Kirsten Powers were in agreement that Obama didn’t “lie” when he made his now-infamous “if you like your health plan you can keep it.  Period” promises.  And the conservative was sputtering mad, saying, “I can’t believe you are giving [Obama] a pass.”

Kirsten Powers is a liberal, but there are moments when she opens her eyes just a little bit.  She understood the horns of the dilemma she was embracing, and stated it for the record to O’Reilly viewers.  “Giving him a pass?  We’re saying he’s incompetent.  How is that giving him a pass?”

Those are your only two options here: either Obama has no business being president, is in so far over his head it is beyond unreal, and has no idea how to run a staff or accomplish anything relating to running a government.  Or he is a demon-possessed liar.

Actually, there is a third alternative: Obama is both incompetent AND a demon possessed liar.

In any event, O’Reilly and Powers – in giving Obama the benefit of the doubt regarding his honesty and integrity – now stand proven wrong.  Yes, I agree with them that Obama is very clearly incompetent.  But the man lied through his teeth, and there isn’t enough incompetence in the world to excuse him from what he clearly had to know as not only a lawyer, not only the onetime editor of the Harvard Law Review, but “a constitutional professor” as well.

This is what Obama’s Department of Justice was arguing:

The [ACA’s] grandfathering provision’s incremental transition does not undermine the government’s interests in a significant way.  Even under the grandfathering provision, it is projected that more group health plans will transition to the requirements under the regulations as time goes on. Defendants have estimated that a majority of group health plans will have lost their grandfather status by the end of 2013.

“Group health plans” include employer-based coverage plans.  This DOJ brief is a legal document; if it is false Eric Holder needs to go to prison for that CRIME.  And Obama’s DOJ was filing this brief IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO OBAMA GOING OUT AND MISREPRESENTING THE OFFICIAL POSITION OF THE ADMINISTRATION [LYING].

The Department of Justice, in a legal court case (with Kathleen Sabelius’ Department of Health and Human Services as the defendant), officially projected that “A MAJORITY” of employer-based health plans will be “transitioned,” i.e., will be cancelled or substantially altered such that TENS OF MILLIONS OF AMERICANS WILL BE FORCED INTO OBAMACARE.

We can go back to 2010 when Republican Senator Enzi pointed this fact out and tried to pass a bill through Harry Reid’s Democrat Senate protecting Americans from this health care holocaust.  AND EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT VOTED TO CANCEL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE’S HEALTH CARE PLANS TO FORCE THEM INTO OBAMACARE.  PERIOD.

Consider the quote the fourth paragraph up again.  This is what Andrew McCarthy said in a discussion with Megyn Kelly last night:

KELLY: And so the administration in this case goes in and tells the court. I mean, tell us, take the legalese out of it. And tell us, that full screen we had on the board up there, what does it actually say?

MCCARTHY: What they are basically saying  is that we have this grandfather provision — they don’t say in there, by the way, that’s what the president is relying on to say if you like your health care plan you can keep your health care plan, period. We have this grandfather provision, but it’s fading away. In fact, by the end of 2013, we anticipate that most who were covered by the grandfather provision will lose their coverage.

KELLY: And they’re not just — the shocking thing about this is, they’re not just saying, and it’s only those on the individual market judge. I mean, this is in writing saying, it is most group health plans.

MCCARTHY: Megyn, that only is not true, they cite to a Kaiser study which is about employer health plans. I mean, the whole thing is about employer health plans. They cite to page in the federal register which also is about employer health plans and basically estimates that about seven of 10 people on the high end estimate who have employer health plans, these are the people who get their coverage at work are going to lose that coverage.

KELLY: Yes. We know about that piece in the federal register, we talked about that a while back. Because it was shocking when we first saw it about the estimates from the administration on how many people are going to lose their policies, or have them changed significantly under ObamaCare.  But what we have now is the Department of Justice running into court and touting it. Today, present day. Because that regulation was 2010 right after ObamaCare was passed. This is present day, them going into court and saying, trust this judge. The majority of people who have group health plans are going to be canceled.

MCCARTHY: That’s exactly right.

KELLY: What does that mean? What does canceled mean in the group health care context. It doesn’t necessarily mean the same for people who have employer-based insurance as it does for those in the individual market.

MCCARTHY: Yes, the word they used is transition. They don’t say cancel.  They do say, lose your coverage which means that you won’t have the same coverage that you have now.

KELLY: Like, we’re not breaking up. We are just transitioning into new relationships that have nothing else to do with one another.

So, yes, a good 100 million American families will lose their employer-based health coverage under ObamaCare.  And Obama knows it.  And his Department of Justice knows it.  And his Department of Health and Human Services knows it.  There are over 150 million Americans who get their coverage from their employers – and the Obama administrating was touting the fact that 70% of them would lose their plans and be forced to “transition” into ObamaCare.

The sheer, galling, rabid dishonesty of Barack Hussein Obama and all the thugs who work for him is beyond stunning.

Barack Obama has lied America into a state of complete economic collapse.  He has already lied America into the collapse of the American health care system that, in spite of liberals idiotic railings, provided the very best on planet earth such that when world leaders needed the best health care in the world, THEY CAME TO AMERICA.

As we speak, the five million Americans that Obama has written off and couldn’t give less of a damn about are in a true crisis: they have until December 15 to purchase health care plans because they were dumped due to ObamaCare regulations.  And the ObamaCare website doesn’t work, which means they can’t buy a plan even at the higher premiums and higher deductibles that ObamaCare is offering (in spite of another lie from Obama to make his plans more “affordable”).  There are people with life-threatening health issues who could literally die.  That is PRECISELY the case facing Edie Littlefield Sundby.

Thirty-six times Obama said something very similar to this on camera in front of millions of Americans:

“No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”

Barack Obama has refused to hold ANYBODY accountable for ANYTHING, dating back to the Fast and Furious scandal where a US Border Patrol officer was gunned down and murdered by a Mexican drug cartel with guns that Barack Obama and Eric Holder handed to them.  Obama hasn’t held ANYBODY accountable for the fact that the first US ambassador since the despicable Carter years (1979) was murdered after BEGGING Obama for more protection in Benghazi, Libya.  We now know that Obama himself, his Secretary to the United Nations and his Secretary of State all directly lied when they claimed that the preplanned and coordinated terrorist attack was merely the haphazard result of a Youtube video.  And we KNOW that video was never part of the reason for that attack, just as we know that the Obama regime knew that at the time.  Obama hasn’t held ANYBODY accountable for the fact that his very own IRS politically attacked Obama opponents for “anti-Obama rhetoric.”  We know that Obama has refused to hold ANYBODY accountable for the incredible police-state abuses of the National Security Agency as they’ve done whatever the hell they want to spy on whoever the hell they want whether the Constitution bans it or not.  And he hasn’t held ANYBODY accountable for the abject nightmare of his “signature legislative achievement.”

We need to hold OBAMA accountable.  Or don’t you DARE ever get upset when a president lies to the people again.  This is a man who is clearly guilty of committing felony fraud by inducement – and he committed against more human beings than any leader who ever lived in all of human history.

Now we know why Obama abrogated the ObamaCare law and gave employers until AFTER the election to be held accountable to ObamaCare regulations.  Because the same Obama who knew damn well that millions of Americans would have their individual health care plans forcibly cancelled, he also knew that 100 million employees would have their health care cancelled if his abomination of health care took effect before the 2014 election.

Update, 11/22/2013:

There is absolutely ZERO question that Barack Obama KNEW that millions of Americans were going to have their health care cancelled due to ObamaCare.  This from the “Health Care Summit” back in February 25, 2010:

REPRESENTATIVE CANTOR: Well, actually, Mr. President, this is the Senate bill along with the 11-page proposal that you put up online that really I think is the basis for the discussion here.

But I do want to go back to your suggestion as to why we’re here. And you suggested that maybe we are here to find some points of agreement to bridge the gap in our differences. And I do like to go back to basics. We’re here because we Republicans care about health care just as the Democrats in this room. And when the Speaker cites her letters from the folks in Michigan and the Leader talks about the letters he has received, Mr. Andrews, his — all of us share the concerns when people are allegedly wronged in our health care system. I mean, I think that is sort of a given.

We don’t care for this bill. I think you know that. The American people don’t care for the bill. I think that we’ve demonstrated in polling that they don’t. But there is a reason why we all voted no. And it does have to do with the philosophical difference that you point out. It does have to do with our fear that if you say that Washington can be the one to define essential health benefits, there may be a problem with that. And that’s the language that’s in the Section 1302 of this bill, that it says that the Secretary shall define for people what essential health benefits are.

But let’s — in the spirit of trying to come together, let’s try and say, maybe if — if we assume that Washington could do that, could really take the place of every American and decide what is most essential, what would be the consequences? And that’s also where we have a big difference in this bill and what would happen.

First of all, the cost, and Jon Kyl laid out the tremendous cost in the nearly trillion dollars of this bill. And I don’t quite know, because CBO said it couldn’t assess how much your additions would cost to it, but we do know that there are plenty of taxes on income. Now, you suggest investment income should be taxed. We have additional taxes on medical devices and the rest. What is a consequence of that? We know there are consequences that small businesses will feel because of the impact on job creation.

But also, Mr. President, when we were here abut a year ago across the street, you started the health care summit by saying one of the promises you want to make is that people ought to be able to keep the health insurance that they have. Because as we also know, most people in this country do have insurance and an overwhelming majority of people do like that coverage; it’s just too expensive.

Well, the CBO sent a letter — I think it was to Leader Reid — about the Senate bill. And in that letter, it suggested that between 8 million and 9 million people may very well lose the coverage that they have because of this, because of the construct of this bill. That’s our concern. And so, as we are in — as we are in the market — in the section of this discussion about health insurance reform, I note, Mr. President, that you have suggested strengthening oversight of insurance premium increases. Because we want to make sure that there aren’t excessive insurance premium increases that take place.

The problem is when you start to mandate all of the essential benefits, there are going to be some insurance premium increases. None of us really want to see them. But if you stop them, who is going to pay for it? Well, then we get back to the fact that businesses won’t be able to pay for it and people are going to lose their coverage.

So I guess my question to you is, in the construct of this bill, if we want to find agreement, we really do need to set this aside. And we really do need to say, okay, the fundamental structure is something we can’t agree on, but there are certainly plenty of areas of agreement. And because I don’t think that you can answer the question in the positive to say that people will be able to maintain their coverage, people will be able to see the doctors they want in the kind of bill that you’re proposing.

THE PRESIDENT: Well, let me — since you asked me a question, let me respond. The 8 to 9 million people that you refer to that might have to change their coverage — keep in mind out of the 300 million Americans that we’re talking about — would be folks who the CBO, the Congressional Budget Office, estimates would find the deal in the exchange better. It would be a better deal. So, yes, they would change coverage, because they’ve got more choice and competition. So let’s just be clear about that, point number one.

When Obama came out and said he had no idea that 5 million people AND COUNTING would lose their health insurance because of the way his damn law was written, he is nothing but a stone cold LIAR without shame, without decency, without virtue and without integrity.

Here is the video [accessed here] of Barack Obama back in February 25, 2010 when he openly admitted what he denies right now:

Also back in 2010, Obama regime officials KNEW that nearly 100 million Americans (93 million was their number) would lose their health insurance due to ObamaCare and be forced to come crawling to Obama for their health insurance.  So he knew that his “8 to 9 million” “out of the 300 million Americans that we’re talking about” was a lie, too.

It is not enough to say that Barack Hussein Obama is a dishonest man.  He is a pathologically, rabidly dishonest man.

There is absolutely no question that Barack Obama knew that when he said, “if you like your health plan, you can keep your health plan.  Period,” he was lying through his teeth.  Period.

What Obama Has Done To Health Care He Has Also Done To Education And Home Ownership (Incompetent Socialist Fool Alert)

November 18, 2013

We all know now that Obama has not merely made “ObamaCare” a giant joke, but has in fact jeopardized the entire American health care system.

What many Americans DON’T know – because we’re so busy looking at the colossal train wreck a.k.a. ObamaCare – is that Obama has similarly destroyed several other sectors of the country and the economy.

Here are two more for your perusal:

#1: Education:

Protests widen against Obama-backed Common Core education reforms
Parents, teachers want local control
By Alex Hopkins – The Washington Times
Sunday, November 17, 2013

A fierce battle in New York is the latest sign that populist resistance to  the Obama administration-backed Common Core  education reforms  shows no signs of slowing — and that the opposition isn’t limited to red  states.

Since 2010, 45 states have adopted the Common Core benchmarks for proficiency  in English and math for schoolchildren at the end of each grade.

Critics say several states are experiencing buyers’ remorse after complaints  from parents and scholars that the reforms are untested and poorly designed and  put additional burdens on teachers and  students. They also say Common Core represents a federal government intrusion  into an area traditionally operated at the state and local levels.

Common Core, backed by $4.35 billion offered to states through President  Obama’s 2009 stimulus, appeared to be overcoming opposition when it was  implemented.

Now, however, backlash has been gaining force. Blogger Michele  Zipp of The Stir last week said Common Core “is kind of turning into the  Obamacare of education.”

Common Core opponents have organized a social media campaign to make Monday a  “National Don’t Send Your Child to School Day” and  have planned protests at local education administration buildings. A Facebook  page for protesters had more than 5,500 supporters by Sunday.

Opposition to Common Core has been roiling in recent weeks since New York  state Education Commissioner John King conducted a series of meetings that highlighted deep concerns about the  reforms.

“We are abusing the children in the state of New York,” Beth  Dimino, president of the Port  Jefferson Station Parent Teacher Association, said at a forum last week at  Ward Melville High Schoolaccording to an account on Patch.com.

Lana Ajemian, the head of New  York’s Parent Teacher Association, said standards have moved far too quickly  for students to keep up. “It’s like the train’s pulling out of the station  without everybody on board,” Ms. Ajemian told NBC New York during the public forum on  Long Island.

Conservative education scholars have led opposition to Common Core reforms,  but the resistance appears to have taken the Obama administration and the education  establishment by surprise. The bipartisan National Governors Association and the  Council of Chief State School Officers have led state-by-state adoption of the  standards.

“Development of these standards was not driven by the federal government, but  by the states,” wrote Dennis Van Roekel,  president of the National Education Association. “Governors on both sides of the  aisle, the business community, and most importantly educators, came together to  ensure one thing: that students learn what they need to live a successful life  in a 21st century global economy.”

Although adoption of Common Core was voluntary, states that rejected the  standards were considered effectively ineligible for federal stimulus funds tied to  President Obama’s Race to the Top initiative.

The four states that have rejected Common Core completely are Alaska,  Nebraska, Texas and Virginia. Minnesota has accepted the English standards but  not the math standards.

But much of the energy in recent months has come from opponents, who include  an unusually broad mix of scholars, teachers, parents and state legislators.

In one of the first signs of resistance, the Republican National Committee  unexpectedly adopted a resolution opposing Common Core. At its spring meeting,  the RNC called Common Core an “inappropriate overreach to standardize and  control the education of our children so they will conform to a preconceived  ‘normal.’”

Under pressure from parents, Florida Gov. Rick Scott, a Republican, sent a  letter last month informing Education Secretary Arne Duncan that his state was  leaving Common Core, citing a “federal intrusion in education policy.”

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, also a Republican, signed the Common Core Pause Bill  this year to allow deliberation among state agencies until a consensus could be  reached on governmental education.

In a move that sparked sharp debate within the American church, a group of  132 respected Catholic scholars and educators released an open letter last week  calling on U.S. bishops to block the Common Core standards from being imposed on  the Catholic Church’s extensive network of parochial schools.

“We believe that, notwithstanding the good intentions of those who made these  decisions, Common Core was approved too hastily and with inadequate  consideration of how it would change the character and curriculum of our  nation’s Catholic schools ,” the letter said. “In fact, we are convinced that  Common Core is so deeply flawed that it should not be adopted by Catholic  schools which have yet to approve it, and that those schools which have already  endorsed it should seek an orderly withdrawal now.”

Other states, including Alabama, have mixed feelings about Common Core.

“I am adamantly opposed to Common Core, and I hope the Legislature will do  something about it,” state Sen. Scott Beason, Gardendale Republican, said last  week. “There are some people who would like to avoid it one way or another. But  I believe it’s one of the biggest issues facing the Republican Party, and this  is a red state.”

Let me slightly rephrase one paragraph:

Although adoption of Common Core was voluntary, states that rejected the  standards were considered effectively ineligible for federal stimulus funds tied to  President Obama’s Race to the Top initiative.

To:

Although adoption of Mafia Protection was voluntary, local businesses that rejected the racket were considered effectively ineligible for mob protection tied to the mafia’s Buy Our Protection Or We’ll Firebomb Your Store initiative.

Buy Obama’s foolheaded education takeover or forfeit – get this – $4.35 BILLION in bribery funds to the states.  That’s “voluntary” my butt.

Yep, it’s voluntary.  And if you don’t volunteer, you’re fired.  Or you get to see the firing squad.  Or whatever alternate nasty scenario you can think of.

$4.35 billion is $87 million per state.  And since five states had the courage to outright reject the ObamaCare-style education hijack, the remaining states would have been saying “no” to $97 million.

Easier to say no to the mob when they come by offering to “protect” your business from “vandalism” or “fire damage.”

But, of course, once your business (or state) accepts mob “services,” it becomes a mob business by fiat.

Lots and lots of businesses that gave in to the bribery or the extortion of the mob regretted having ever done so in the first place.

A little more about opponents of Common Core and why they oppose it:

The following guest column is by Kelly Kohls. She is president of the Springboro school board and is a member of the Warren County Career Center board. She writes in opposition to the Common Core education standards.

Common Core state standards, as well as the testing called Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers, are quickly becoming controversial issues in Ohio and around the country.  It is not a right or left issue – both ends of the political spectrum have raised concerns.

Teachers are worried the computerization that accompanies Common Core and PARCC assessments will render them irrelevant at worst or be used to justify less pay if teachers are reduced to “coaches” for online curricula.

Folks on the political right view the assessments as a top-down take over of education by the Obama administration and some now refer to it as Obamacore.

Common Core, and the idea that all states should have a common set of national education standards, is nothing new. Common Core is the new name but it is the continuation of the education reform movement that began in the 1960s and brought us Outcome Based Education in the 1990s and Evidence Based Education in the 2000s.

Next came the implementation.  To force acceptance of the standards, President Obama and his education director Arne Duncan, worked with Congress to provide over $4 billion in the form of Race to the Top grants.  These grants required adoption of Common Core. […]

As the role of the federal government in education has grown, our test scores have fallen and our standing in the world has fallen with it.  Ohio is moving in the wrong direction and embracing failure.  Our kids deserve better.

The “Republican” governor of Ohio is also defending his decision to fully participate in the ObamaCare fiasco while actual REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS WISELY STAYED OUT OF THE HEALTHCARE ABORTION.

Here’s another one:

Parents applauded and cheered wildly when educator Beth Dimino took on New York Education Commissioner Jonathan King at a heated meeting about Common Core. She gave a powerful description of how the new Common Core test regime amounts to “child abuse”:

New York parents and teachers have been in turmoil over the new Common Core school standards, which have resulted in a 30% drop in student test scores state-wide.

A 30% drop in test scores.  And do you want to know how liberals react to this fiasco?

This liberal Washington Post title quoting Obama’s Secretary of Educashun ought to tell you:

Arne Duncan: ‘White suburban moms’ upset that Common Core shows their kids aren’t ‘brilliant’

You don’t like the fact that your kid is flunking school under ObamaCare?  It’s only because you’re a) white – and therefore racist – and b) an arrogant snob who can’t accept reality for her drooling idiot kid.

You want your kid “edyoocayted”?  Vote out Obama.

How else has Obama turned the whole nation into the equivalent of “ObamaCare”???

Dodd-Frank: Making it Harder For You to Get a Mortgage
Rachel Alexander | Nov 18, 2013

The Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, sarcastically known as Dodd-Frankery and Dodd-Frankenstein, was passed into law in response to the financial crisis and recession of 2008. It contains the most drastic changes to financial regulations since the regulatory reform after the Great Depression. Proposed by Obama in 2009 and signed into law in 2010, the Democratic bill was the handiwork of former Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) in the House and former Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) in the Senate. It was supposedly going to stop banks from making loans to risky buyers who could not pay them back, reducing foreclosures. It was also supposed to change the rules so banks could no longer receive taxpayer-funded bailouts due to their poor business practices.

It hasn’t worked out the way its Democrat proponents claimed. This is because the people who got us into this mess are the same ones who drafted the law. Dodd-Frank contains more of the same things that precipitated the financial crisis; government meddling in the mortgage business and financial markets. Lobbyists for special interests carved out loopholes, resulting in merely different lists of winners and losers. As one author in U.S. News & World Report observed, “These exemptions are less about protecting unsophisticated borrowers than about protecting the taxpayer-guaranteed business models of favored entities.” Hedge funds and some other firms lost big; they are now required to fill out a 192-page form that has been estimated to cost each firm $100,000-$150,000.

Speaking of winners or losers, most outrageously, Dodd-Frank didn’t bother to reform Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, the biggest culprits for handing out mortgages to high-risk borrowers who should never have qualified for them. They received the largest bailouts of all financial institutions in 2008.

The 848-page-long act created numerous new federal agencies. It grossly expanded oversight by federal agencies to non-bank financial institutions and their subsidiaries. It required federal agencies to write 398 new rules in order to put the act’s 1,500 provisions into place. It will cost taxpayers millions to run all the new agencies and enforce the rules, and will hurt economic growth and harm the competitiveness of U.S. firms relative to their foreign counterparts.

Over 14,000 pages later, less than half of the rules have been implemented, and numerous deadlines have been missed. Imagine what would happen to employees in the private sector who repeatedly missed deadlines.

The Economist speculated that “the harm done by the massive cost and complexity of its regulations, and the effects of its internal inconsistencies, will outweigh what good may yet come from it.” Even more disturbing, “Officials are being given the power to regulate more intrusively and to make arbitrary or capricious rulings.”

Dodd-Frank came down hard on loan officers and mortgage brokers. Many mortgage brokers are expected to go out of business next year. All loan originators must now be qualified, licensed, registered, and issued a unique identifier. They are restricted from charging more than a three percent fee for all loan origination costs, which is hampering the ability of banks to offer mortgages on homes priced between $100,000 and $160,000. Many may simply shut out this working-class market.

While it superficially sounds good to impose stringent requirements and qualifications in order for borrowers to qualify for mortgages, the one-size-fits-all model really doesn’t fit everyone, and is resulting in investors gobbling up home sales, since fewer average Americans now qualify. According to real estate guru Martin Andelman, since 2009, cash sales to investors represent a third of all sales, and in some areas are responsible for up to 60 percent of all real estate transactions. This will wreak havoc on the economy when the investors all inevitably rush to start dumping houses in the future.

Homeowners are paying more for mortgages because of all the new restrictions and requirements. The regulations simply embolden lenders to work around them, working within “safe harbors” and loopholes to engage in alternative forms of risky lending. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans are exempt from the new regulations, as are timeshare loans, due to stellar lobbyists. So the Dodd-Frank cap on debt-to-income-ratio of 43 percent won’t apply to the riskiest of all loans.

The home vacancy rate is fairly high, over 10 percent, and home values have started dropping again. Around 25 to 50 percent of mortgages are still underwater. Andelman doesn’t see any decrease in foreclosures in the future. He reports that three quarters of the country is living paycheck-to-paycheck, and only about the top one percent have significant savings.

Banks are passing the costs of Dodd-Frank on to consumers. Dodd-Frank arbitrarily cut down on some bank fees, resulting in the banks diverting costs to customers in other ways. Since Dodd-Frank cracked down on banks charging debit card fees, the banks turned around and started eliminating free checking accounts.

Bank bailouts are still authorized, with certain banks designated as “systemically important financial institutions,” code words for too big to fail. Even worse, the government is then authorized to essentially take over the institution. Sadly, bankers don’t dare criticize Dodd-Frank publicly, or they run the risk of retaliation by the regulators.

Dodd-Frank looks a lot like campaign finance reform; lobbyist-influenced changes being made to a system that pick winners and losers, perpetuating the problem as players find ways around the regulations. It fails to address the principal causes of the 2008 meltdown: The banks made risky loans, knowing the government would bail them out once the loans went south, then sold them to murky institutions on Wall Street where they sometimes became untraceable. These derivatives were driven by a combination of Wall Street banks and politicians. Until the government stops bailing out these kinds of practices, the banks have no incentive to change their risky behavior. Dodd-Frank must be repealed.

The mainstream media has covered the fact that average Americans have largely been shut out of buying homes as investors swoop in and buy up houses.  I quote an LA Times “news” piece titled in the physical paper “Investors moving to new turf” by Alejandro Lazo and appearing in the Business section on page B-1 on September 13, 2013.  As is so often the case, the liberal snot rag has purged this article – but I still have the physical copy of the article:

Just last year, policymakers turned to real estate investors to rescue the housing market.

Fearing the foreclosure crisis could drag on for years, the Federal Reserve advocated renting out foreclosed homes as a market-based solution. Government-controlled mortgage titan Fannie Mae experimented with selling big pools of them to deep-pocketed buyers.
Few realized then that investors would respond with overwhelming force: Big and small players have injected billions into the market, racing one another to buy up foreclosed homes in post-crash markets. Wall Street launched a sophisticated industry based on buying and renting out homes in bulk. The suburbs of Southern California, Arizona and Nevada saw a virtual land run, creating frenzied demand that has pushed up prices more than 20% in a year.
Now the foreclosed homes in those markets are almost gone — yet investors have kept buying, competing with individual buyers in standard sales.
The number of so-called absentee buyers, usually cash investors, has dropped slightly in Southern California since hitting a record in January. But they still account for more than 1 in 4 home purchases in the region. And just 8% of those deals were on foreclosed homes in June, compared with 25% a year earlier and a peak of 55% in February 2009.

Another site runs a portion of the above LA Times “news” article among a slathering of other articles under the title, “Flippers Are Selling To Other Flippers.”

That’s what’s going on BECAUSE OF DODD-FRANK.  And oh, look, THERE’S FANNIE MAE AGAIN AT THE EPICENTER OF YET ANOTHER FIASCO.

That’s why when I see articles like this from liberal “newspapers,” I KEEP THE DAMN ARTICLES.  Because when you’ve got a Big Brother like Obama, you’ve got a Ministry of Truth situation like in the novel 1984.  And “stories” become “unstories.”

But again, that initial story that the Los Angeles Times in its ubersocialsm purged nevertheless failed to mention that this was because of OBAMA and HIS BIG GOVERNMENT meddling.

Just realize that Barack Hussein Obama has ruined this nation such that for most Americans, more Americans identify as ‘lower class’.

And that’s #3) the lowest labor participation rate since Jimmy Carter last tried to destroy America with socialism back in 1978.  And just try to get a full-time job today thanks to ObamaCare hell.

We’re either going to vote out Obama and every Democrat in America, or we’re going to learn to become content with less health care for more money, less education for our children – again, for more money – and a middle class permanently frozen out of every being able to buy a home and participate in the American Dream.  And over everything, fewer and fewer Americans working at all, and working part time because employers can’t afford to hire them due to ObamaCare and myriad other Obama regulations.

One Republican’s Mea Culpa: Yes, I Am To Blame For The Collapse Of ObamaCare

November 15, 2013

I watch Fox News at home, and every time the subject of the failure of ObamaCare came up, I would hear liberals such as Juan Williams make it his primary point that Republicans always wanted ObamaCare to fail to begin with.  Which [of course] obviously made it our fault that it is failing.  When I am at my gym, I am invariably forced (deservedly, I’m sure) to watch MSNBC.  And of course I am told repeatedly that Republicans always wanted ObamaCare to fail and that [obviously] its failure is therefore our fault.

I see articles like this one in the Washington Post demanding to know “Who are the make-Obamacare-fail dead-enders, anyway?

Who are we, indeed?  Or, to put it in liberal-blame terms, “Just who the hell do we think we are?

I, as a representative Republican conservative, take it upon myself to accept the blame that liberals demand I wear around my neck albatross-fashion: I am responsible for ObamaCare and its failure.

It took me a while to figure out just HOW I was to blame, given that I never wanted the damn demonic law to begin with, but I think I finally understand.

You see, Democrats and liberals are people with pathologically inferior minds.  They are morally depraved, lesser beings.  And what happened is that the negative energy of my clearly superior conservative brain somehow affected the cud-chewing Democrat brain, such that my negative energy further retarded them and made them stupid.

So how could the ObamaCare web site designers hope to succeed?  Even when they spent $634 million to build a website that four million small porn sites somehow built for pennies on the dollar???

The problem, of course, is that “Glitch Girl” just didn’t stimulate the way that all those porn site girls did.  I guess at least the porn girls presumably got paid for what they sell.  But that is my fault, too.

The Face of ObamaCare herself never enrolled in this turd a.k.a. “The Affordable Care Act.”  The smiling face of ObamaCare bliss was all just an illusion as it was all just a delusion.  But that is my fault.

How could the product of such pathologically inferior minds possibly get off the ground with my superior brain waves influencing all and everything around me???  It’s my fault.

Can I be like a liberal here and beg forgiveness on the basis of my good intentions?  How could I know that my mind was so superior and that the minds of Democrats were so inferior that my negative brain energy would dominate all the liberals around me and make them so stupid and so incompetent that their “signature legislative accomplishment” would blow up like the Hindenburg???

But I realize that isn’t fair: only liberals can cite their good intentions to excuse themselves for the failures of their actions, of course.  Republicans – due to their superior minds – are expected to understand all the consequences of their actions and must therefore always be held responsible and criminalized wherever possible.

So there it is.  Pass it around.  Unlike Obama, I fully accept responsibility.  It was because of me that liberals and Democrats wanted this stupid thing, wrote this stupid thing, voted for this stupid thing and implemented this stupid thing.  And even though liberals did it all by themselves, my  negative brain waves were insidiously affecting them at every step of the way.

Now, for those conservatives who would still stubbornly insist that they bear no responsibility for the failure of ObamaCare, I make one further comparison to expose your guilt: to Elizabeth Smart.

Yes, just like Elizabeth Smart, conservatives like myself were forcibly abducted from our health care system that we preferred.  We had no say-so.  We didn’t vote for the damn thing.  We didn’t get to participate in it in any way, any shape or any form.  We had nothing to do with its implementation or the stupid website or the 18,000 pages of regulations that Obama wrote after the law was passed.

Yes, just like Elizabeth Smart, we were forced to participate in this system whether we wanted it or not.  We didn’t get to issue waivers to ourselves the way Obama issued waivers to all his union and corporate cronies.  I recall just a few weeks ago during the fury of the government shut down that Republicans just wanted to delay ObamaCare for a year, but they were told what?  How DARE you!  ObamaCare was passed by Congress, signed into law by the president, and affirmed by the Supreme Court.  Just like the Defense of Marriage Act, but that’s another story.  What right did Republicans have to change it or alter it in any way?  Only Obama – by unconstitutionally exercising powers that were solely reserved to Congress – had the right to repeatedly change the law.  Praise him!  Hail him!  For only he is worthy!

Obama provided a football analogy and said yesterday that he fumbled the ObamaCare football.  He also moved the goal posts and completely changed the rules of the game while the game was being played.  But all that’s beside the point.

But that’s besides the point, you see: because in spite of the fact that Elizabeth Smart was abducted, in spite of the fact that she was forced to take part in a “relationship” she never wanted, in spite of the fact that she was repeatedly raped, HAD SHE JUST WANTED IT, THE RELATIONSHIP WOULD HAVE SUCCEEDED.

If Elizabeth Smart had just accepted her new status and desired to be raped, everything would have been good.  But to her great blame, there remained some part of her that didn’t want any of it.  That poisoned the relationship.

It was Elizabeth Smart’s fault her relationship with her rapist abductor failed, you see.  At least in the minds of the Democrats who abducted Republicans and forced them to participate in the sick, twisted “relationship” otherwise known as the ObamaCare mandate.

Look, all Democrats want from us is this: when we’re getting butt-raped (by the “condom-protected,” of course) phallus of ObamaCare, all they ask is that we moan in ecstasy and push our eager rectums against our attacker as we accept his government thrusts into our lives.  That’s all they’ve asked us for regarding the assault of ObamaCare.  And as we listen to the diatribes of the left who point out that we were always opposed to our rape, is it really so much for them to demand that we just sit back and enjoy it???

Accept your blame, ye rape-hating Republicans.  The failure of ObamaCare is truly all your fault.  How dare you never have wanted it to begin with.  How dare you.

Obama Lied About ObamaCare. He Lied About EVERYTHING ABOUT ObamaCare.

November 14, 2013

A lot of people in the media are fixated on Obama’s lie – repeated at least thirty-six times on camera! – that:

“No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”

Every single one of the millions of Americans who lost their health coverage because of your evil health care takeover ought to be able to give you a good hard kick in the ass and leave you with your tail bone permanently sticking out of your ear.  Period.  And no one should be able to take that tail bone away from there.  No matter what.

Of course the above link takes you to a LIBERAL Washington Post fact check that gives Obama the maximum number of Pinocchio (i.e., “LIAR”) points.  But WaPo also has this gem compiling an assemblage of Obama in flat-out liar-liar-pants-on-fire mode.

For the official record, Republicans knew that Obama was a liar on this promise more than three years ago:

In 2010, Republican Senator Mike Enzi (WY) said on the Senate floor that the Obama administration had broken its promise that “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it.”

Sen. Enzi also correctly predicted that employers will be less likely to hire workers and may even lay off employees. He was accused of fear-mongering by his Democratic counterparts back then.

Tonight on The Kelly File, the senator told Megyn Kelly, “I couldn’t believe what some of my colleagues were saying even though the federal register […] predicted millions were going to lose their insurance.”

He criticized President Obama for making changes to the law, referring to the delay of the employer mandate, while telling Republicans that the law can’t be changed.

Sen. Enzi wrote a bill that would have guaranteed that people could keep their health plans according to Obama’s promise.  EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT – including Hillary Clinton and especially including the fifteen Democrats who are now panicking about their precious re-elections – voted against it.  Which is to say they voted to screw America twice by voting for ObamaCare to begin with and then voting for the hell of uninsuring the insured it would cause that is coming to pass right now.  Because they don’t give a flying DAMN about the American people.

Now, here’s the thing: the fecal matter is smacking the rotary oscillator now as 5 million independently insured Americans lose their health care with a total of 15 million expected to lose their similar coverage.  Those people are losing their coverage that they were happy with even as they are unable to buy coverage because Obama is so criminally incompetent that he took three years to piss away $634 million to build a website that doesn’t work as well as any one of about a million porn sites.  That ought to tell you why Obama decided to suspend his law for employer-based health plans.  But when that kicks in next year, you will see 129 million Americans have their health plans either cancelled or cost substantially more (while many of them will get substantially less in benefits).

That’s when things will really start hitting the fan.

It only took the mainstream media five years to start being accountable to the truth.  You know, whereas the same media would have already been blasting a Republican president before he took his oath of office.

But that Obama lie is just the tip of the Obama lie iceberg.

How about this Obama lie:

In an Obama administration, we’ll lower premiums by up to $2,500 for a typical family per year….. We’ll do it by the end of my first term as President of the United States.

Obama promised that his socialist takeover of health care would “bend the cost curve down,” but in actual FACT it will bend it UP with an arc of a rocket ship blasting into space.  Obama said it would lower a family’s cost by $2,500 a year; try raising it by $7,450 a year instead.

Don’t believe me because I disagree with Obama and am therefore “racist”???  Time to smell some reality, you drones.

As I write this, I noted that even the Los Angeles Times is beginning to expose this Satanic lie from Obama:

Obama supporter miffed at botched healthcare rollout: Margaret Davis favors wider access to insurance, but under the Affordable Care Act she’d see her premiums rise 88% for inferior coverage. By Steve Lopez November 12, 2013, 7:58 p.m.

Margaret Davis of West L.A. voted for President Obama and appreciates the ideas behind the Affordable Care Act. She agrees that everyone should have access to healthcare and no one should be denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions.

But here’s the problem:

She knows firsthand, as the new law of the land rolls clumsily into being, that it’s not working out to everyone’s advantage.

“I’m a 55-year-old woman in excellent health and have a catastrophic health plan,” she wrote recently to Obama and California Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer. “I am completely happy with my plan. I received notice that the plan is being canceled and that to stay with a “comparable” plan my premiums would increase 88%, or $200 extra per month. To add insult to injury, the plan is INFERIOR to my existing plan.”

If you guessed that she got no response from any of those elected officials, you win a box of cough drops.

But public officials didn’t throw a complete shutout at Davis. She wrote to U.S. Rep. Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) when she didn’t hear from the others, and one of Bass’ staffers called Davis to say she’ll be looking into the specifics of her case.

“Any time you do a huge policy change like healthcare, there’s going to be all sorts of problems and glitches that need to be worked out,” Bass told me Tuesday from Washington, where she said there were new calls for allowing people to keep the policies they have, as President Obama had repeatedly promised they’d be able to do.

President Clinton has urged such a move, and Feinstein’s office backed the idea Tuesday. She noted in a statement that her office had received 30,832 contacts from Californians, “many of whom are very distressed by cancellations of their insurance policies and who are facing increased out-of-pocket expenses.”

“The Affordable Care Act is a good law, but it’s not perfect,” the Feinstein statement said.

No, not by a longshot, beginning with the federal website debacle and highlighted by Obama’s now-laughable promises of a smooth transition. But Bass worries that the problems will further embolden critics who were determined from the beginning to do a grave dance on healthcare reform.

Hundreds of people attended a town hall conference hosted by Bass on Sunday in West L.A. She said some attendees were in the same situation as Davis and not very happy about it; others were confused by their options. Bass said many were assisted as they enrolled in new plans through the state exchange, Covered California.

“But overall, people were like Margaret,” said Bass, who called Davis on Tuesday to discuss her case. “They really want this to work, and they’re just trying to figure it out.”

Which hasn’t been all that easy for Davis, an accountant and software consultant who couldn’t believe “how botched up” the healthcare.gov website was, among other problems.

And would anyone be shocked if insurance companies were trying to take advantage of all the confusion?

Davis lives with her husband and two teenage sons but chose not to be covered by her husband’s healthcare plan, which would have added $600 per month to the cost. All she wanted from her own plan was the peace of mind that came with knowing she wouldn’t go broke if she were seriously ill or injured.

She paid Kaiser $224 a month with a $5,000 deductible.

Under the new Kaiser plan, her premium would rise to $420.46 a month. The plan carries a lower deductible, of $4,500, after which she would then pay 40% of the cost of care up to a cap of $6,350.

Though Davis appreciates the goal that all policies must meet minimal standards of coverage, she doesn’t anticipate needing either the maternity or mental health care that would be part of her new plan.

“I had a feeling my cost would go up,” said Davis, who makes just enough money to be ineligible for a government subsidy, “but I was floored when I saw that it was an 87.7% increase.”

That massive increase in your health care cost BECAUSE of ObamaCare ought to be a hell of a lot more believable to you now given the fiasco you are seeing unfold right in front of your eyes.

Now, the story of woe of Margaret Davis of West L.A. and tens of millions of other Americans sets us up for yet another massive Obama (and ObamaCare) lie from hell:

Example 1:

BARACK OBAMA: And I can make a firm pledge: under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase – not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.

Example 2:

But let me perfectly clear, because I know you’ll hear the same old claims that rolling back these tax breaks means a massive tax increase on the American people: if your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increased a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime.

Well, of course, we know that when this law was passed, Obama promised that it wouldn’t be a “tax,” but a “penalty.”  But the Supreme Court in its upholding ObamaCare said a “penalty” would be unconstitutional.  They let ObamaCare stand by declaring that Barack Hussein Obama was merely a lying weasel who had called a “tax” a “penalty” because a “tax” would have sent his “signature legislative accomplishment” down in flames.  And we found that ObamaCare was in fact a “tax,” and it was OBAMA who was the “penalty.”

The simple fact is that Obama promised that if you made less than $100,000 a year or if you were a member of a family making less than $250,000 a year, your taxes wouldn’t go up “one dime.” “Not one single dime.”

When you get your new health insurance premiums, please realize that every single dime of increase in the money your paying right out of your hind end is a TAX to OBAMA.

It is a “Lying Tyrant Tax.”  To again quote Obama: Period.  End of story.

Now, back in 2009, a cynical, dishonest, lying Obama scolded George Stephanopoulos on national television for suggesting that his ObamaCare mandate was a tax increase.  Obama said it “is absolutely not a tax increase.”  Reading that now knowing what a total liar Obama was is actually kind of funny now.  But this same lying weasel who said his mandate was “absolutely not a tax increase” sent his lying lawyer shills out to the Supreme Court to argue that yes it was too a tax increase (right after arguing that not it wasn’t).  And being a pathologically dishonest weasel, Obama had pathologically dishonest weasels do his lawyering for him, too.  Samuel Alito pointed out the transparent dishonesty of the Obama regime when he said, “General Verrilli, today you are arguing that the penalty is not a tax. Tomorrow you are going to be back and you will be arguing that the penalty is a tax.”

That’s the kind of president we’ve got.  Which is why we’ve got the kind of crisis we’ve got.  Because a dishonest man started lying and just wouldn’t stop.  Period.

Amazingly, Obama has spent $684 million to promote a $634 million utterly failed and glitch-ridden website that IT people say they could have had running for a tiny fraction of that ridiculous price.  And Obama is going to make your health care cheaper???

Has the government proven to you that it can do things better, faster and for less money yet, you morally idiotic Democrat???

How about this Obama lie:

I’ve told this story before — I will never forget watching my own mother, as she fought cancer in her final days, worrying about whether her insurer would claim her illness was a preexisting condition so they could wiggle out of paying for her coverage. How many of you have worried about the same thing? (Applause.) A lot of people have gone through this. Many of you have been denied insurance or heard of someone who was denied insurance because they got — had a preexisting condition. That will no longer be allowed with reform. (Applause.) We won’t allow that. (Applause.) We won’t allow that.

Now, please keep in mind that Barack Obama is a man who is so evil and so dishonest that he literally lied about his own mother and demonized the insurance company that kept her alive.

Quote: “Barack Obama’s Mother,” [Stanley Ann] Dunham had an employer-provided health insurance policy  that paid her hospital bills directly. Her insurer, Cigna, never denied payment  for her cancer treatment.

But that lie is merely an example of a man with a truly wicked and vile personal character.  We’re focusing on ObamaCare lies.  So let’s consider whether people with pre-existing conditions are getting cancelled or not.  And the answer is, contrary to the most documented liar in all human history, yes, people with pre-existing conditions are being cancelled.  Eddie Littlefield Sundby begins her Wall Street Journal op-ed with these words:

You Also Can’t Keep Your Doctor: I had great cancer doctors and health insurance. My plan was cancelled. Now I worry how long I’ll live. By Edie Littlefield Sundby Nov. 3, 2013 6:37 p.m. ET

Everyone now is clamoring about Affordable Care Act winners and losers. I am one of the losers.

My grievance is not political; all my energies are directed to enjoying life and staying alive, and I have no time for politics. For almost seven years I have fought and survived stage-4 gallbladder cancer, with a five-year survival rate of less than 2% after diagnosis. I am a determined fighter and extremely lucky. But this luck may have just run out: My affordable, lifesaving medical insurance policy has been canceled effective Dec. 31.

My choice is to get coverage through the government health exchange and lose access to my cancer doctors, or pay much more for insurance outside the exchange (the quotes average 40% to 50% more) for the privilege of starting over with an unfamiliar insurance company and impaired benefits.

Countless hours searching for non-exchange plans have uncovered nothing that compares well with my existing coverage. But the greatest source of frustration is Covered California, the state’s Affordable Care Act health-insurance exchange and, by some reports, one of the best such exchanges in the country. After four weeks of researching plans on the website, talking directly to government exchange counselors, insurance companies and medical providers, my insurance broker and I are as confused as ever. Time is running out and we still don’t have a clue how to best proceed.

That woman who just lost her insurance with her life-threatening pre-existing condition is probably going to die because that’s what tends to happen to stage 4 cancer patients when Obama decides their actually quite excellent health care is somehow “sub-par” and that he should be trusted to do better than her doctors.  Barack Obama murdered her with his lies.

Or how about this Obama lie:

“And let me tell you exactly what Obamacare did. Number one, if you’ve got health insurance it doesn’t mean a Government takeover. You keep your own insurance. You keep your own doctor. But it does say insurance companies can’t jerk you around. They can’t impose arbitrary lifetime limits. They have to let you keep your kid on their insurance—your insurance plan until you’re 26 years old.” — – President Obama during the first presidential debate in 2012

Like with every other Obama promise, it was a lie for a critical group of Americans: our military veterans and their families:

One of the most touted benefits of President Obama’s health care overhaul law is the provision allows parents to keep their adult children on their health insurance until age 26.

However, Trace Gallagher reported on “The Kelly File” Monday, this benefit is not being extended to a significant group of Americans: members of the U.S. military.

TRICARE, the Department of Defense program that provides health coverage to active duty and retired military members and their families, only covers young adult dependents up until age 21, or age 23 if they are enrolled full-time in college.

TRICARE recipients can then purchase a plan for their young adult dependents, according to their website.

Air Force veteran Eddie Grooms said he was disappointed to learn he could not add his 21-year-old daughter to his insurance provided by the military, as he thought he had been promised under the health care overhaul.

“It’d be nice if they leveled with everybody and let them know so that people could make plans, because this is going to hit all, I mean it’s going to hit thousands of retirees over time,” Grooms said.

So maybe your kid can stay on your policy until he or she is 26.  Unless you’re one of the heroes who defended American freedom.  Then Obama screwed you but good.

Not that Obama ever liked our nation’s veterans.  Apparently he figures that people who fought for America would be more inclined to fight him when he tries to impose his tyranny over America.

The thing is that I could go on.  And probably on and on.  Suffice it to say that absolutely every single thing Obama said about his health care hijack was a lie.

I’ve said it over and over again: Barack Obama is not merely a liar; he is a truly evil man.  He is a man devoid of character, or honesty, or integrity, or virtue.  He is nothing short of the Antichrist’s useful idiot.

The horror story is yet to come.  Obama set up one of his promises thusly:

“First of all, nobody is talking about some government takeover of healthcare,” Obama told the crowd in Raleigh. “I’m tired of hearing that…. Under the reform I’ve proposed, if you like your doctor, you keep your doctor. If you like your healthcare plan, you keep your healthcare plan. These folks need to stop scaring everybody.”

Given that Obama lied about being able to keep your doctor, being that Obama lied about being able to keep your healthcare plan, you need to realize that “the folks who were scaring everybody” were the only ones who were telling the truth.  Which means that YES, OBAMACARE IS A GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER OF HEALTHCARE.  And things are going to get ugly in this “fundamentally transformed” people’s socialist republic.

If you’ve got any sense in your head at all, you are now listening to the people Obama demonized as “scaring everybody.”  Because everything we said would happen is happening right in front of your fool eyes.

I have stated my view that Barack Hussein Obama is demon-possessed.  When you get your health care bill and as you start watching your costs spiral as we encounter the nightmare scenario of an actuarial death spiral (and see here) as the young people ObamaCare needed to enroll refuse to do so while the sickest and least healthy Americans overload the system (and you pay their tab), tell me I’m wrong.

I predict that the actuarial death spiral is THE most likely outcome as young people refuse to pay double the premiums they would have had to pay (and even THEN refused to pay) for insurance they don’t feel they need in order to pay the costs for he older and sicker population.  And rates will systematically skyrocket as a result.  (I also predict that Democrats will demonize the insurance companies for their sin of trying to remain in business rather than going bankrupt trying to carry out Democrats’ insane delusional socialist fantasies).

I can’t resist one more.  Allow me to end with a lie you can already see in the making:

Obama Administration Promises Health Care Site Will Be Fixed By End of November
By Kate Pickert @katepickertOct. 25, 2013

The Obama administration says the problem-plagued healthcare.gov website will  be working properly by the end of November and that the government has appointed  a new contractor to head up repairs for the troubled health insurance  exchange.

“Each week, the experience will get better and better,” Jeff Zients, a  management consultant and former administration budget official recently hired  to oversee fixes to the website, told reporters on a conference call Friday. “We are confident that by the end of  November, healthcare.gov will operate smoothly for the majority of users.”

If that deadline is met, it would come two months after the site was launched  with major technical failures, prompting widespread criticism and giving  ammunition to Republican opponents of President Barack Obama’s signature  domestic achievement.

Oh, really, lying Obama administration???

Troubled HealthCare.gov unlikely to work fully by end of November
By Amy Goldstein, Juliet Eilperin and Lena H. Sun

Software problems with the federal online health insurance marketplace, especially in handling high volumes, are proving so stubborn that the system is unlikely to work fully by the end of the month as the White House has promised, according to an official with knowledge of the project.

The insurance exchange is balking when more than 20,000 to 30,000 people attempt to use it at the same time — about half its intended capacity, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to disclose internal information. And CGI Federal, the main contractor that built the site, has succeeded in repairing only about six of every 10 of the defects it has addressed so far.

Government workers and technical contractors racing to repair the Web site have concluded, the official said, that the only way for large numbers of Americans to enroll in the health-care plans soon is by using other means so that the online system isn’t overburdened.

This inside view of the halting nature of HealthCare.gov repairs is emerging as the insurance industry is working behind the scenes on contingency plans, in case the site continues to have problems. And it calls into question the repeated assurances by the White House and other top officials that the insurance exchange will work smoothly for the vast majority of Americans by Nov. 30. Speaking in Dallas a week ago, President Obama said that the “Web site is already better than it was at the beginning of October, and by the end of this month, we anticipate that it is going to be working the way it is supposed to, all right?”

Just another lie from a serial liar.  But we’ve already let him get away with so many thousand lies it’s beyond unreal.  Let’s just chew our cuds like herd animals and let him lie American into oblivion.

Barack Obama, The Most Incompetent Leader And The Worst Political Weasel Who Ever Cursed America

November 13, 2013

Obama is said to be outraged over the debacle of his signature legislative accomplishment in that detached, disinterested, bystander way of his.  So who has he fired?  Who has he held responsible?  Nobody, that’s who.

Which is just like all the other scandals and debacles that have characterized this failed presidency.  Obama was outraged – OUTRAGED – by the fact that his IRS thugs illegally targeted Obama’s political opponents.  And he fired nobody.  Same thing with Benghazi, same thing with Fast and Furious.  Same thing with the pattern of White House-benefitting leaks that have set back US national security by decades. Same thing with the NSA eavesdropping fiasco that has set US foreign policy by decades.  And now the same thing with ObamaCare that will set back America’s health care system by centuries.

Here’s an example of Obama’s wretched incompetence and utterly failed leadership.  Liberals have circled their wagons around Kathleen Sabelius and cried that you can’t fire the Secretary of Health and Human Services during a time of crisis.

One excellent theory is that Obama as the most cynical president who ever cursed America plans to fire Sabelius, but he has to wait for the complete failure to play out so that she can be blamed for EVERYTHING.  Because if he fires her now, and ObamaCare continues to fail – and it WILL continue to fail – well, THEN whose to blame???

Allow me to point out that the very best thing you can do in time of “crisis” is to fire incompetent leaders and replace them with people who can get the job done.

As an example, the worst crisis in American history was the Civil War.  During that war, something like 2.5 percent of the U.S. population were killed.  If that were to happen today, you’d be talking 8 million dead AmericansRecent scholarship has indicated that the high side of 2.5 percent of all Americans perished as 750,000 men died fighting in the Civil War among a general population of 31.4 million.  This happening while half the nation tried to secede from the other half and both halves were on the brink of catastrophic dissolution.  Now THAT’S a “crisis.”

And what did Lincoln do as he encountered incompetent leaders during this crisis?  He fired them.  He fired half a dozen generals trying to find Ulysses S. Grant and William Tecumseh Sherman – who won the war where the generals Lincoln fired had been losing it.

By refusing to fire the INCREDIBLY incompetent Kathleen Sabelius and all the other incompetent leaders who ran ObamaCare into the ground (not that there was ever any hope for making that demonic abortion of a law successful to begin with), Obama is guaranteeing that incompetence will prevail and we will continue in the path of our dodo bird flight off a cliff.

That’s because Lincoln was one of the greatest commanders-in-chief in American history, while Barack Obama will go down as the very worst.

Now, ultimately, the reason Obama hasn’t fired Sabelius is because 1) Obama is the most cynical political weasel who was ever born of woman and he knows he’ll need a scapegoat in the future and not just in the present; and even more ultimately because 2) Obama knows he is the one who is responsible for this health care holocaust that bears his name.  We now know that the political spinners who defrauded their way to his re-election said stuff like, ‘if you like your plan, you can probably keep it’ isn’t a salable point.”

Obama knew that he was lying to the American people, and he knew it every single one of the at least 36 times that he did it.  We also now know that the White House KNEW that the ObamaCare website was going to catastrophically fail and crash and risk people’s security if they were fool enough to trust in Obama, but Obama demanded that website open because all he was concerned about was politics rather than people.

This was what we got out of the Obama regime:

Two allies of the administration, both of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the controversy surrounding the rollout, said they approached White House officials this year to raise concerns that the federal exchange was not ready to launch. In both cases, Obama officials assured them there was no cause for alarm.

Obama, we can state as a fact, is a pathological liar who lies about his lies only to lie that he didn’t lie about his lies.  And he has surrounded himself with sycophants who do the same for him.  That’s the more fundamental reason Sabelius is still around.

ObamaCare As The Greatest ‘Good News/Bad News’ Joke In Human History

November 12, 2013

I’ve got a joke for you:

Doctor:

I have some good news and I have some bad news.

Patient:

What’s the good news?

Doctor:

The good news is that the tests you took showed that you have 24 hours to live.

Patient:

That’s the good news?  What’s the bad news?

Doctor:

The bad news is that  I forgot to call you yesterday!

Here’s another one:

Doctor:

I have some good news and some bad news.

Patient:

What’s the good news?

Doctor:

The good news is they are naming a disease after you!

Yep, ObamaCare is one of those “good news/bad news” jokes.  They named a disease after Obama, too, you know: the fatal disease to the U.S. health care system and ultimately the U.S. economy otherwise known as “ObamaCare.”

The GOOD news is that nearly 50,000 people enrolled in ObamaCare through last week.  Now, keep in mind, Obama predicted that 500,000 would enroll and his forecast was off by about ninety percent.  That’s a number that wouldn’t fill an average football stadium out of a nation of nearly 330 million people.  But we have to consider the 50,000 figure as “good news” given the other enormous whammy that’s coming that is very clearly “the bad news.”

The BAD news is that nearly 5 MILLION people have already lost their health insurance due to ObamaCare.

Which is to say that for every person who just got health care because of ObamaCare, one hundred just lost their health care because of ObamaCare.

The official goal of ObamaCare, they told us, was to insure the uninsured.  The actual result of ObamaCare was to uninsured the insured.

But you really aint seen nothin’ yet about this mother of all good news/bad news jokes.  Because that 50,000 number is very likely grossly inflated (insurance companies are reporting that there are all kinds of multiple enrollments as people hit the “buy” key repeatedly due to the colossal failure of the $600 ObamaCare website).  And because that 5 million figure is grossly underrepresented.

A Duke University health expert released his finding that 129 million Americans will essentially lose their health plans and either get cancelled altogether “because they [will have] already have lost or will lose that coverage by the end of 2014.”

That number, for what it’s worth, represents 68% of he 189 million Americans who have – well, who USED to have – health insurance before the ObamaCare wrecking ball “bad news” part of he joke hit America.

For 129 million Americans – and again, for the nearly 70 percent of Americans who “were satisfied with their health plans” before Obama ruined the world – OBAMA’S PROMISE THAT HE MADE OVER AND OVER (AT LEAST 36 TIMES!!!) WAS A SHOCKING LIE.

Obama said, “If you’re happy with what you’ve got, nobody’s changing it.” He said, “No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”

That last one was featured in the reliably leftist Washington Post fact check that gave Obama the maximum number of “liar points” possible.  Nixon’s “I am not a crook” statement couldn’t have been a bigger lie than Obama’s “you can keep your health care plan.”  And Nixon’s lie didn’t hurt anybody unlike Obama’s.  People on the verge of dying of cancer just found out that they lost their health plans because of Obama’s lie.  And because of Obama’s criminal incompetence, those people can’t buy insurance to save their lives because the $600 million website won’t work the way any one of all the millions of porn sites on the internet all do.

Obama told America that over and over and over again as he was selling his “signature legislative accomplishment” that barely passed after all kinds of Democrat shenanigans without a single Republican willing to vote for that demonic bill.

And he lied without shame, because he is a man without shame, without honor, without integrity, without decency and without virtue of any kind.

Liberals are truly radical ideologues who – like their Marxist forebears – are determined to ignore reality as they impose their ideology onto the world.  They insist that all evidence and facts aside, their messiah couldn’t have “lied.”  Nope.  He “misspoke” at worst.

David Lazarus is such a leftist ideologue who writes an opinion piece that the Los Angeles Times smuggles into its business news section every week.  Liberal Lazarus is forced to acknowledge a couple of huge facts:

President Obama apologized last week to people whose health insurance was canceled despite his repeated assurances that if you like your policy, it won’t change.

The charitable way of putting it is that Obama oversold details of the healthcare-reform law in his speeches.

His critics say he flat-out lied.

This wouldn’t even be an issue if Obama had qualified his remarks simply by adding that you’d be able to keep your insurance as long as it meets minimum standards for coverage, which is a big part of what Obamacare is all about.

Here’s the thing, though: The rules of the road for healthcare reform have been — and remain — a moving target. For months, not even insurers have known what their requirements would be.

Number one, you can’t demonize the insurance companies for this fiasco, because they had no idea what the incredibly secretive White House was up to while they added another EIGHTEEN THOUSAND PAGES OF REGULATIONS to the 2,000 pages of ObamaCare that nobody read to begin with.

The crime of the insurance companies was that they were blindsided by the most documented liar who ever lived.

Number two that Lazarus acknowledges is the even more important fact that the ability to keep coverage was ALWAYS contingent upon meeting Obama’s “minimum standards.”  And contrary to Lazarus, it wasn’t merely “a big part,” it was THE CENTRAL PART.  The fact of the matter is that Obama had to drive people into his exchanges in order to ever have any hope of making the exchanges work.  Otherwise, only the older and sicker would enroll and ObamaCare would perish a slow, agonizing actuarial death spiral as the costs of coverage skyrocketed.  Which would plunge America into economic ruin as the most critical one-sixth of the U.S. economy became utterly paralyzed and dysfunctional and the people begin to panic.

We know that as early as July of 2010 the White House was fully aware of the fact that the president of the United States was lying to the American peopleWe now know that the political people at the Obama White House insisted that Obama keep saying something that everyone knew was false.

And it is simply asinine beyond the limits of asininity to suggest that anybody believe Obama had no idea what was going on.

To argue that Obama never comprehended the central component of his health plan is to claim that Obama is like the retarded boy who hung around a group of nuclear physicists and called himself part of the team but had absolutely no inkling whatsoever what the geniuses in the room with him were doing.  Obama frankly needs to be impeached either as the worst liar who ever torpedoed America or as the most incompetent fool who ever held public office.  Either way, this man simply has got to go.

Obama and his ObamaCare are sick jokes on America that simply have got to end.  Before they end America.
