Obama Campaign Relies On Tax Cheating Millionaire Celebrity Marc Anthony To Lie About Mr. ‘The Private Sector’s Doing Fine’

June 11, 2012

It’s a darned shame that Obama already filled the job for his Secretary of the Treasury.  Marc Anthony certainly couldn’t do any worse of a job that Timothy Geithner, and he has the key qualification of being a man who doesn’t bother to pay his own taxes while supporting a man who demands everybody else pay more taxes.

Obama’s Marc Anthony Ad is Another Embarrassment for the Campaign
By Tara Dodrill | Yahoo! Contributor Network – Thu, Jun 7, 2012.

COMMENTARY |Yet another celebrity advertisement for President Barack Obama was unveiled earlier this week.

While Marc Anthony may be an attractive and accomplished singer, he likely does not have much in common with the typical Latino voter. Anthony’s impassioned plea that Obama needs another term to continue “making progress” and that he “has our backs” during the video clip republished on The Blaze neglects to mention that Anthony himself has proven he cares little about the nation’s debt.

According to document excerpts published by the Washington Free Beacon, Anthony is a “tax-dodger” who owed more than $3 million back taxes.

Obama staffers should check into the backgrounds of the celebrities they use in campaign commercials. Although Anthony negotiated a settlement with the government on his back taxes in 2010, it reflects poorly on Obama’s character that he would befriend the scofflaw singer.

Financial statistics republished by the Washington Free Beacon note that Anthony made more than $15 million during a five-year period. Apparently Obama’s goal of forcing wealthy Americans to pay their fair share does not apply to his pals.

Reaching out to the Latino community would be far more successful if Obama actually mingled with citizens struggling to find jobs, pay mortgages and put food on the table for their children. The Anthony fundraiser will offer “just a few” tickets for $44, according to the Miami Herald. If Obama was truly concerned with the voices of Latinos, he would rent a stadium, charge $20 a ticket and communicate directly to his alleged core group of supporters. But instead, he opts for sipping champagne with wealthy celebrities who help comprise the one-percent. The president has the back of his cool Hollywood friends far more than he does members of the low and middle class who have been crippled by his far-left spending policies.

President Obama’s celebrity endorsements garner media attention, even if it is just to poke fun at their misguided scripts and ineffective delivery. It is doubtful that even the most politically illiterate voters will be swayed by the famous faces behind the recent round of Hollywood commercials. The Obama campaign can put all the star power they can muster behind the president, but the conversation around American dinner tables will still focus on the economy and the deficit. Those will be the deciding factors in November and not the well-rehearsed words by a tax-dodging crooner.

I came across the following to explore Marc Anthony’s tax depravity a little more:

December 30th, 2010, 15:56 GMT · By Elena Gorgan
Marc Anthony Owes $3.4 Million in Unpaid Taxes

Tax evasion recently landed actor Wesley Snipes in prison, and Nicolas Cage in hot water. Still, the IRS doesn’t discriminate between actor, singer or reality star. Marc Anthony owes $3.4 million in back taxes, it has emerged.

He and wife Jennifer Lopez make an estimated $61+ million each year but, somehow, Marc still managed to get himself into some trouble – in fact, his management got him in this nasty situation.

Radar Online reports that the singer and actor has not paid his taxes for years and it’s eventually catching up with him. Marc, on the other hand, insists his recent troubles are not his doing, but a result of bad management.

“The husband of superstar Jennifer Lopez has been slapped with demands for $1.8 million in unpaid taxes, Radar Online has exclusively learned,” the e-zine says.

Still, this is just a fraction of the amount Marc owes to the IRS, since the total debt is over $3 million.

“What’s more, it’s the second straight year that New York authorities have hit Marc Anthony with a million-dollar-plus lien on a slice of Long Island real estate that he owns,” Radar writes.

“The latest demand was filed on March 29, 2010 in Nassau County. Just three months earlier, a federal tax lien for $1.6 million was placed on the same property,” Radar reports.

As of now, it’s not known whether Anthony has paid the back taxes he owes. His rep was not immediately available for comment, as neither were his attorney and manager.

Anthony’s former wife J-Lo is reportedly disgusted with the way Marc handled money and when he racked up $3.4 million in liens last year and told friends: “I’m not bailing him out.”

You’re bailing him out if you vote for Obama, honey.  Let’s just call it your tax dollors at work.

Yahoo News says that Marc Anthony is an embarrassment to the Obama campaign.  The biggest embarrassment to the Obama campaign has always been and continues to remain Barack Obama.

But one thing is true: “the private sector’s doing fine” for liberal hypocrites like Marc Anthony.

P.S. When I was typing this up, for some reason I kept mistakenly typing “Marx” instead of “Mark” and had to correct myself.  I think it was one of those Freudian slip things.

Proof Positive That The Mainstream Media Is The Propaganda Wing Of The Democrat Party

November 1, 2010

We’ve seen it all over the place.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, the mainstream media had what Bernie Goldberg described as a “A Slobbering Love Affair: The True (And Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media.”  And he backed it up with cold hard facts.

For the last two years, we have had one crude, dishonest and even vile dismissal of the conservative tea party movement.  With the most vivid example in my memory being CNN anchor Anderson Cooper saying, “It’s hard to talk when you’re tea-bagging.”  Which was a gross, crude sexual pun to describe decent, intelligent people.

The tea party movement was mocked and dismissed by the media until it was obvious they were deliberately lying about the movement; and then the media started to demonize them and label them as racist.  Even though in reality the tea party better reflects the racial composition of the country than any other political movement.

We’ve had the mainstream media bombard us with the message that tea party supporters were some kind of  ignorant, fanatic, fascist hillbillies and tools of some conservative elite puppetmasters when in actual fact they are actually considerably wealthier and better educated than the population at large.

Joe Miller is a case in point.  The Senate candidate from Alaska – who is backed by and who in fact espouses the tea party platform – is not only a West Point graduate, but is also a graduate of Yale Law School.  But since those facts refuted the mainstream media narrative about tea partiers as ignorant hillbillies, they were ignored.

There’s the petty vindictive stuff.  Such as the TV ad that Christine O’Donnell paid to run on a public channel – and even held a rally timed for its airing – only to have the network “conveniently” forget to run it.  Twice.  Like “Oops.  Sorry.  Don’t think for even a second that it’s because government-funded media aren’t in the pocket of liberals, though.”

And there’s the more institutionally biased stuff.  Such as the fact that the mainstream media refused to use the word “extremist” to describe anyone on the left, but ONLY used the word to describe conservatives and tea partiers. Which simply proves that there is an institutional ideological leftwing bias across the board.  When you turn on or turn the pages of any mainstream media bias, you are simply pumping leftwing bias into your brain.

But all of that, as bad as it is, is nothing compared to the true black cockroach souls of the mainstream media and “journalists” of today.

This story says it all.

From RadioViceOnline:

News staff from the CBS affiliate KTVA in Anchorage inadvertently left a message on the cell phone of Joe Miller’s campaign spokesperson yesterday.   Nick McDermott, the KTVA assignment editor, had just ended a phone call with Miller’s spokesperson but missed the ‘end call’ button on his iPhone.

The conversation between McDermott, and those who are assumed to be other KTVA staff, goes on for about one minutes and 15 seconds. The audio and transcript are below. They seem to conspire to create stories that will harm the election efforts of Miller including looking for registered sex offenders and child molesters who happen to support Miller’s campaign. Then they suggest staging a Rand Paul-type moment where someone attacks Miller.

Not surprising to me. Remember, many journalism students join the profession to make a difference, not to report the news. When they realize they are not making a difference — in this case electing their preferred choice for Alaska’s next senator — they start making up the news.

Big Journalism had the breaking story, and Gov. Sarah Palin let the Fox News Sunday audience know about the story this morning during an interview with Chris Wallace. She called the conspirators “corrupt bastards” (video below) this morning and reminded Americans this is just one example of what it has been like for Joe Miller when the GOP establishment, Democrats, the Washington elites, and the left-wing media machine are all gunning for you.

Written transcript follows…

FEMALE REPORTER: That’s up to you because you have the experience but that’s what I would do…I’d wait until you see who shows up because that indicates we already know something… [Laughter [INAUDIBLE]

FEMALE REPORTER: Child molesters…

MALE REPORTER: Oh yes…Joe Miller’s…uh…get a list of people/campaign workers which one’s the molester [INAUDIBLE]

FEMALE VOICE: You know that of all the people that will show up tonight, at least one of them will be a registered sex offender.[Laughter]

MALE REPORTER: We need to find that one person… [INAUDIBLE]

FEMALE REPORTER: The one thing we can do is ….we won’t know….we won’t know but if there is any sort of chaos whatsoever we can put out a twitter/facebook alert: saying what the… ‘Hey Joe Miller punched at rally.’

FEMALE REPORTER: Kinda like Rand Paul…I like that. [Laughter]

FEMALE REPORTER: That’s a good one.

So reporters from a CBS affiliate made a call to Joe Miller’s campaign, and then these people who are so damn smart (versus all the ignorant hillbillies in the tea party movement) forgot to hang up the phone before plotting to destroy the GOP candidate they had just called.  And it was all gloriously caught on air.

Does anyone honestly think any of these people are reporting or covering the political news fairly or honestly?

It’s not enough to call these reporters “leftwing.”  They are fascist.

CBS reporters are talking about deliberately seeking out stories that will “frame” Joe Miller as dangerous or unstable to sow seeds of fear in the electorate.  It’s a “November Surprise,” only they are looking to somehow create it.  And there’s no chance in hell that the Democrat is ever going to face that level of hard-core bias and outright animosity.

Think about this.  This incredibly cynical, deceitful, disingenuous and malicious attitude toward conservatives isn’t just happening in San Francisco; it’s happening in Alaska.  And Alaska is so conservative that the Democrat is only getting 30% of the vote.

If this kind of shocking media bias against the right is going on in a solidly red state such as Alaska, what is going on in your state?  Just how bad is it everywhere else?

As bad as the Democrat Party is, their dishonesty is NOTHING compared to the blatant dishonesty coming from the “journalists” who staff the mainstream media.

They’re supposed to report the truth in an objective, non-partisan manner; instead they look for dirt against conservatives and Republicans.

If the media reported fairly and honestly, we’d be talking about Democrats the way we talk about dinosaurs – as a giant behemoth that died out due to its own stupidity eons ago.  Instead they fabricate one story and falsify one “angle” after another.

And as a result of the mainstream media dishonesty, the Democrat Party has been allowed to become more and more and more corrupt.

Piss off a “journalist” tomorrow.  Vote for Republicans.

Democrats Abandon All Respect For American Voter And Electoral Integrity

October 11, 2010

The independent-minded American says, “Let the parties and candidates express their platforms in the open marketplace of ideas, and may the best candidate win.”

Unless you’re a Democrat, of course.

“If you’re a Democrat, it’s, “We stand for absolutely nothing but power over the people, we believe that ends justify means, and so go ahead and do whatever you need to do to win.”

Democrats need tyrant-power in order to shove terrible and evil legislation such as the $3.27 TRILLION stimulus which incredibly hasn’t even created any meaningful jobs; and ObamaCare, which is turning out to be so shockingly bad that even LIBERAL UNIONS tat supported this boondoggle are now pleading to be opted out; and Democrat environmental regulations that are destroying upwards of a million jobs and counting (and again, even UNIONS are begging for relief from these incredibly destructive policies).

You can’t destroy a country unless you have the total power to do so.  In America, the Constitution gives the people the right to rise up and throw off their shackles every two years.  At least, as long as we have a Constitution, and as long as judicial activists can’t interpret that Constitution any damn way they want to.

So Democrats have to cheat to get their “fundamental transformation.”  And cheat they do.

We think of Chicago and other Democrat strongholds, where dead people and inmates don’t only get to vote, they get to vote twice.  And apparently, Democrats are even paying dead people and inmates for their votes now.

We think of ACORN and years and years of voter registration shenanigans until they were finally caught on video doing something so vile that even many (but certainly not all) Democrats found them despicable beyond the pale.

We think of the Al Franken Senate election in Minnesota, in which a lead by the Republican candidate was overcome after new, uncounted ballots just kept magically turning up in the back seats of cars.  And then, lo and behold, we find that inmates’ ballots – well over the Franken margin of victory – were illegally counted.

We think of the vile Democrat Rep. Alan Grayson and the shockingly dishonest campaign ad that he ran, in which he deliberately tried to smear his Republican candidate for the exact opposite of what the man clearly actually said.

And now we’ve got Democrats trying to undermine the will of the American people by fraudulently running candidates to leech votes from the Republican and steal an election:

Report: Dems planted NJ tea party House candidate
By GEOFF MULVIHILL
The Associated Press
Saturday, October 9, 2010; 5:36 PM

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. — A New Jersey Republican congressional candidate criticized his Democratic opponent Friday amid mounting evidence that Democratic officials planted a tea party candidate in the race to siphon off conservative votes.

“My opponent, John Adler, represents everything that is wrong with politics in our country today,” Republican Jon Runyan said. “I would ask for an apology. But frankly, an apology from someone like Congressman Adler would be so meaningless that it’s not worth seeking.”

He spoke at a news conference as Adler, a first-term Democratic lawmaker, and his campaign remained mum about a report in the Courier-Post of Cherry Hill in which Democratic operatives speaking on the condition of anonymity confirmed what Republicans have believed for months: That tea-party candidate Peter DeStefano was put on the ballot by Democrats.

The operatives said a county Democratic employee is running at least the Web elements of DeStefano’s campaign.

Tea party organizations, which have denounced DeStefano since he entered the race in June, called on him Friday to quit. About 50 tea party activists gathered in protest outside a restaurant in Medford where DeStefano had scheduled a fundraiser Friday night.

DeStefano arrived at the fundraiser after the protesters left and told reporters he would remain in the race, but he would not answer specific questions about the newspaper’s report, dismissing the allegations as “hearsay.”

“I’m an average guy who’s running for Congress on the independent ticket,” DeStefano said.

One tea party group, the West Jersey Tea Party, said it plans to file a voter-fraud lawsuit against Adler next week.

Adler has previously denied the accusations. Adler and top officials in Adler’s campaign and did not return calls or e-mails from The Associated Press on Friday.

In an August interview with the AP, DeStefano excoriated both Adler and Runyan.

He fended off questions about Republicans’ accusations and tea party organizations’ claims that he wasn’t even a member, though he was running for Congress with the slogan “New Jersey Tea Party.” While there are several tea party groups in New Jersey, none goes by that name. Some tea party groups are supporting Runyan.

“Any American citizen can run for any office they want,” DeStefano said. “I think it’s time we get past this crap.”

He refused to answer questions about precisely when he decided to run.

In August, Adler told the Courier-Post: “I know we weren’t part of it.”

Runyan said his campaign was looking into whether there’s any legal action that could be taken against Adler.

The operatives told the Courier-Post that the plan was shared with members of the South Jersey Young Democrats, and some in that group gathered signatures for DeStefano – while others didn’t because they thought the plan was unethical.

Republicans started raising suspicions about DeStefano months ago when they found many of the signatures on his nominating petitions were from Democrats, including a former Adler campaign staffer.

I wrote about a related issue a little over a week ago, pointing out the fact that Democrats Don’t Give A DAMN About The Constitution Or Any Limits On Their Power.

In that article, I cited the audio of Democrat Robin Carnahan openly mocking the election process and the will of the voters in an exchange that went as follows:

Carnahan: “We’re going to also have a libertarian and a Constitution Party candidate running.  And I will tell you no one’s going to know who they are, but it’s not going to matter, because Glenn Beck says you’re supposed to be for the Constitution, and there is some percentage of people who will go vote for them.  And in our internal polling about six or seven percent goes like that to the Libertarian and Constitution Party.  So I’m quite sure that whoever wins is going to do it with less than fifty percent of the vote.” […]

Donor: “You just don’t sound like those Constitution Party votes are going to come out of your account.”

Carnahan: “What do you think?” (Audience laughter)

Donor: “I think you’re right.” (Audience laughter)

These Democrats don’t care about fairly and honestly winning elections; they care only about power and totalitarian control over government.  And they will use every UNFAIR and DISHONEST tactic to gain the power over the people that they seek.

And if you care about your country’s Constitution, why, you’re just an idiot schmuck to these contemptible Democrats.

I also wrote about some of the utterly contemptible examples of fraud that are besetting the Democrat Party, including the fact that ALL EIGHT of the vile little cockroaches in Bell, California, who stole millions from a town whose per capita income was only half the national average, were DEMOCRATS.

And it’s not a matter that Democrats did this a long time ago, or that they just did it recently; it’s about the fact that they are doing these things RIGHT THE HELL NOW.

If you think that Democrats have demonstrated that they deserve the right to continue governing, all I can say is that you personally are disgusting.

Gov. Candidate ‘MoonBeam’ Brown Has A Plan Guaranteed To Save California; But You Have To Elect Him To Find Out What It Is

September 13, 2010

I have a secret plan to save the planet.  And if you give me all your money, I’ll tell you what it is.

That’s basically Jerry Brown’s current campaign platform, in a very nutty nutshell.

Are Californians crazy enough to buy that?  Judging from the fact that Obama won California by the biggest margin in history, yeah, they are.

We ARE the state that has all the moral-moron movie-star meatheads telling us how we should vote, after all.

Zen and art of political machine maintenance
Debra J. Saunders
San Francisco Chronicle September 12, 2010
Sunday, September 12, 2010

Jerry Brown has a secret plan to balance the state budget. When the state attorney general and Democratic gubernatorial nominee recently visited The Chronicle’s editorial board, he brought with him a large three-ring binder with his ideas on how to bring state spending back into the black. But he wouldn’t tell us what was in the book.

I asked him what he, as governor, would do that state employee labor unions, which are spending millions to get him elected, won’t like. He answered, “Well, I’m certainly not going to tell you now.”

And: “I’m not going to reveal my negotiating strategy now. I’m going to try to push everybody together.”

Also: “The next governor has to be an honest broker, somebody that people feel is being straight and is talking to them in a real way.  I think I can do that.”

This is talking in a real way? Trying to figure out what Brown means is like trying to decipher the Da Vinci Code.

When Editorial Page Editor John Diaz asked what tough calls Brown was willing to make, he answered, “There’s only a process that will lead us to where we’re going.”

When Diaz asked how Brown might want to change Proposition 13, Brown said he had no plans to change Prop. 13 in his notebook. But: “The way I would put it is, everything is on the table and everyone’s at the table.”

Brown is the first candidate for governor in memory who is running for office on no platform so that he can be elected with no mandate.

This has to remind you of the perennially-eyes-widened-in-surprise House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s breathless and braindead statement regarding ObamaCare:

You’ve heard about the controversies within the bill, the process about the bill, one or the other. But I don’t know if you have heard that it is legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America, where preventive care is not something that you have to pay a deductible for or out of pocket. Prevention, prevention, prevention—it’s about diet, not diabetes. It’s going to be very, very exciting.

But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.

Well, we’ve got ObamaCare now, and we’re starting to find out what’s in it.

What do the American people think?  And what were they thinking the entire time Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, the Democrats in Congress, and President Barry Hussein were ramming it down our throats?

From Rasmussen, September 6, 2010:

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% of Likely U.S. voters favor repeal of the law, with 45% who Strongly Favor it. Thirty-eight percent (38%) oppose repeal, including 30% who are Strongly Opposed.

A majority has favored repeal of the legislation every single week since Congress passed the health care bill in March. Support for repeal has ranged from a low of 52% to a high of 63%.

We never liked it.  We never wanted it.  But SURPRISE!!!  And tag, you’re it.  Maybe Sarah Palin is wrong about the death panels, even though it looks like there are at least 160 of them contained in the 2400 page monstrosity.  But that would only be because ObamaCare will be more like the famously creepy short story The Lottery than a simple death panel.

We’re hearing more and more godawful details of ObamaCare now, you know, that thing that Democrats had to pass so we could find out what’s in it.  And now it’s so obvious that the thing is not only bad, but evil, that not one single Democrat in more than 230 national races is acknowledging that he or she voted for it.

Now, the people didn’t get to actually vote for ObamaCare.  If they’d had that choice, we’d be still be dancing around the embers of its burning ceremony now.  Instead, it was rammed down our throats by Democrats, who arrogantly predicted that those who voted against their vile takeover of the health care system would be hurt in November.

But now the people finally get the chance to say who’s going to be hurt in November.

I hope the citizens of California won’t be as dumb as they’ve been in the past.

This ad by Meg Whitman might well be the dagger through the undead heart of Jerry Brown’s hopes for further ruining the state of California:

Go away, Jerry.  Go away mad, but go away.  We don’t need more Democrat mystery meat.

Attacking McCain’s POW Record: The Slander And The Truth

September 21, 2008

Obama supporters managed to find a former POW who would come out against John McCain in an attack ad.  Sociologist and Veterans for Peace activist Dr. Phillip Butler says, “He was known as a very volatile guy and he would blow up and go like a Roman candle. John McCain is not someone I would like to see with his finger near the red button.”  But that “he was known as” line – which insinuates a commonly-held view – is a patent and documented lie.  Phillip Butler is the ONLY POW who has come out and said this.

There were 24 former POWs – who went through hell with John McCain in the brutal North Vietnamese prison camps – present at his Republican convention speech in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Most if not all of these men paid their own way for travel and expenses, and received only a special place of honor in the seating arrangement.

The Washington Times points out that:

In his nomination acceptance speech last week in Denver, Mr. Obama indirectly raised the issue of whether Mr. McCain’s years in captivity have made him too emotionally volatile. “If John McCain wants to have a debate about who has the temperament and judgment to serve as the next commander in chief, that’s a debate I’m ready to have,” Mr. Obama said.

And nasty shots about John McCain’s war record from prominent Obama surrogates have been going on for quite a while.  See my articles:

Clark’s dismissal of McCain’s military service part of coordinated pro-Obama smear campaign

Obama trivializes attacks on McCain’s military career

Obama’s plea to ignore the facts questioning his patriotism

This from the “new politician” who transcends the “politics of old?”  Hardly.  Rather, this is the candidate of whom even Bill Clinton said has “the political instincts of a Chicago thug.”

Here are a few statements from John McCain’s fellow POWs included in The Washington Times article:

– Dave Wheat, who was imprisoned for over seven years, says, “Barack Obama repeatedly scares the hell out of me because of his naivete,” Mr. Swindle said. “He has no qualifications for the job other than that he’s a hell of a nice guy.”

– “Fellow former prisoners of war said Mr. McCain’s experience of torture and captivity stands as an undeniable testament to his character, toughness and patriotism that Mr. Obama cannot touch.”

– “John McCain went through a crucible of adversity, and he was there being tested. He came out of it a stronger person, a more focused person, a person who conducted himself with incredible honor,” said Mr. Swindle, who spent two years as John McCain’s cellmate.

– Rod Knutson, who was shot down on the same day in 1965 as Mr. Wheat and later was confined in a cell next to Mr. McCain’s, said that experience made him “a better person.”

“I have more courage, I have more patriotism, I have better tolerance for things. I think I’m a better father and a better husband, and I think I did a better job in the Navy. And I think all of those attributes can be carried over to John McCain,” said Mr. Knutson, 69, of Thompson Falls, Mo.

“It’s not a negative experience at all. It was a hardship. It was a sacrifice, and it’s something none of us would ever want to do again, but we’re better off having been through it,” he said.

And then there are other testimonies, such as from Col. “Bud” Day – Medal of Honor recipient and the second most decorated veteran in American history.

Day himself – all of his service, all of his heroism, and all of his testimony of John McCain aside – has been villified as someone who supported the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth against John Kerry.

So let’s look at the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.  Look at the letter that some 250 of John Kerry’s fellow Swift Boat veterans signed against him (to contrast with about a dozen Swift Boat veterans who support him).  Their real outrage wasn’t over Kerry’s supposed “valor,” but rather against what he did when he came home.  John Kerry willingly and publicly said of his own free will things that men like John McCain wouldn’t say even in the face of torture.  And when John Kerry tried to defend his anti-American and anti-American-soldier statements by pointing to his record, the Swift Boat veterans demonstrated that he had misrepresented his record in provable ways beyond his infamous “Christmas in Cambodia” whopper.

Maybe John Kerry deserved all his decorations, and maybe he didn’t, but one thing is for sure: he did lie about several aspects of his record.  And he was forced to publicly retract some of his most vitriolic statements as “the words of an angry young man.”

John Kerry had a paltry few men to testify about how honorable he was, versus a whopping load load of veterans who said he was unfit for command.  Kerry literally resorted to trying to claim that men who were actually against him were for him.

Henry Wickham, writing in the American Thinker, said of the media campaign against the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth:

To make the definition of swiftboating synonymous with “smears,” “lies,” and “innuendo” is to declare John Kerry’s innocence…. This clever manipulation of the meaning of words and its exoneration of John Kerry has much broader implications. In the 1970s John Kerry led a high profile movement that not only defamed American servicemen as crazed killers, but Kerry and his real “band of brothers” also successfully pushed policies that had truly genocidal consequences in Southeast Asia. To exonerate John Kerry is to exonerate his movement and all who participated in it for their role in the genocide. It is to whitewash all of them from the consequences of their actions.

The same liberal Democrats who were appalled that 250 Swift Boat veterans opposed John Kerry as unfit for command when only a handful supported him have now trotted out a single man to claim that John McCain is unfit for command when dozens have publicly supported him.

As for Phillip Butler’s claim that John McCain has a temper?  I found a retort on biglizards entertaining:

Well, all right. But for me, McCain’s temper is vastly overbalanced by Obama’s fecklessness, grandiosity, narcissism, radicalism, and willingness to cozy up to America’s bitterest enemies, from Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright to Vladimir Putin and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. But then, I’m not a liberal Democrat.

I end where the Washinton Times story begins:

ST. PAUL, Minn. | There are 24 of them here, the men who went through hell with John McCain in Vietnamese prison camps four decades ago.

A few are politicking and organizing, but most are here simply to support the man they say represents a choice for America between honor and image.

“There is a waning sense of honor and duty … and that is troubling. And this election may be all about that very thing,” said Orson Swindle, who was a cellmate with Mr. McCain for two years in the infamous “Hanoi Hilton” prison camp.

“Do we want to have an ‘American Idol’ election, or do we want to elect a man who is capable of doing great things and solving big problems?” said Mr. Swindle, one of several speakers who will formally nominate Mr. McCain for president Wednesday.

We’ll find out on November 4.

I’ll Take Sarah Palin At 3AM Over Barack Obama Any Day

August 29, 2008

Do you remember that 3AM phone call ad?  Will our President be ready when it comes?

Sarah Palin, apparently, would be awake, alert, and have her rifle in her hands:

HILLARY Clinton supporters may go for John McCain now he’s revealed that his vice president would be one Sarah Palin. She’s the woman to man the red phone in times of emergency.

It’s 3am, the phone is ringing… And Sarah Palin:

Sarah and her father would sometimes wake at 3 a.m. to hunt moose before school, and the family regularly ran 5k and 10k races

Barack Obama might be able to give a speech – as long as the teleprompter has been set up and is working right.  Otherwise he’s in a lot of trouble.

Obama might be able to talk tough in a speech, but Sarah Palin can hunt our enemies down and kill them.

I’ll take the fiesty chick with the big gun, thank you.
