Obama Likens Gulf Oil Disaster To 9/11, As If Free Market Enterprise Is Akin To Terrorism

June 15, 2010

Obama – who has all but destroyed relations with one of our closest allies in Israel – has gone on to all but destroy relations with our very closest ally of all.

From an article which the Desert Sun appropriately entitled, “Gulf disaster jeopardizes U.S., British relations”:

Obama has said he would have fired BP’s top executive if he were in charge. He embraced the idea that the oil company suspend its quarterly dividend. He reproached BP for spending money on a public relations campaign. This past week, he said in a television interview, “I don’t sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar; we talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers — so I know whose ass to kick.”

He occasionally refers to “British Petroleum,” although the company years ago began using only its initials and is a far-reaching international corporation with extensive holdings in the United States, including a Texas refinery and a share of the Alaska oil pipeline.

The angry words from Washington have produced a backlash in Britain, where BP is viewed as a corporate pillars. Millions of British retirees depend on BP dividends since pension funds are heavily invested in the oil company, the world’s third-largest.

I have written that Obama should start by kicking his own ass elsewhere.  But that’s another matter.

Obama has been hard at work undermining the historic relationship between England and America since he took office and told England it could have its crappy bust of irrelevant Winston Churchill back.

Oh, well.  What’s a special relationship that has stood for nearly two centuries and led to victory over evil in two world wars?

How does that any of that compare to the gain of directly attacking capitalism and the free market system when you’re a Marxist?

The Lonely Conservative has an article that includes Youtube video of Obama adviser Robert Reich calling for the US to socialize – er, nationalize – BP.  And Reich (and Maxine Waters, of course) are joined by uber-liberal Rosie O’Donnell, who says:

“Seize their assets today. Take over the country, I don’t care. Issue and executive order. Say BP guess what…call it socialism, call it communism, call it anything you want. Lets watch Rush Limbaugh explode…on TV when he talks….SEIZE THE ASSETS, take over BP.”

So I’m just agreeing with a liberal icon and calling it what it is.

And in that spirit, we have this latest:

Obama likens Gulf environmental disaster to 9/11
Jun 14 09:37 AM US/Eastern President Barack Obama likened the disastrous oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico to the September 11 attacks in an interview published on the eve of his fourth visit Monday to the stricken region.

“In the same way that our view of our vulnerabilities and our foreign policy was shaped profoundly by 9/11, I think this disaster is going to shape how we think about the environment and energy for many years to come,” he told Politico.com.

Obama said he would be making a fresh bid to get Congress to pass a major energy and climate bill.

He was quoted as vowing to “move forward in a bold way in a direction that finally gives us the kind of future-oriented … visionary energy policy that we so vitally need and has been absent for so long.”

“One of the biggest leadership challenges for me going forward is going to be to make sure that we draw the right lessons from this disaster,” he said.

Flopping Aces has several humorously illustrated pictures that get to the heart of the joke Obama and his stupid remarks are:

Some 56 days into the disaster and this is the best this fool can come up with???  Seriously???

Is BP like Osama bin Laden?  Is free market enterprise no different from al Qaeda?  Should our response to BP and the free market system be war, such as it was following 9/11?

Apparently so, according to the latest from the Failure-in-Chief.  You don’t think that Karl Marx and the demagogic propagandists his ideas inspired wouldn’t have compared capitalism and the free market system to a terrorist entity that we needed to declare war upon?

Obama is once again revealing his profoundly deep Marxist roots that go all the way down to that tiny black shriveled thing he calls his soul.

And apparently drawing “the right lessons from this disaster” means more Stalinism.

Obama, in the mantra of his chief of staff, has the position to “Never let a serious crisis go to waste.  What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before.”

Is the oil leak that is turning the ocean black a disaster?  Not for Obama: it’s an opportunity to usurp more power from the private sector, to seize more power for mega-government.  For Obama, hard-core leftist ideologue, the oil disaster is an opportunity to impose his cap-and-trade system, which had been DOA.  It’s an opportunity to impose a system which he himself said would make energy prices “necessarily skyrocket.”  Who cares if it is shockingly expensive?  Who cares if it amounts to yet another Marxist redistribution of wealth?  Who cares if little people get hurt?  The government will be to tax more, and have more power to regulate every detail of our lives.

Obama and his people are Marxist-facists.  They are demagogues; they are fearmongers and propagandists.  They are out to undermine our relationships with our greatest allies, and they are out to undermine this country in hopes of being able to impose a Marxist system following an engineered economic collapse (see also here).

The UK Telegraph features a piece which is considerably nicer.  It basically says that Obama isn’t a Marxist plant out to destroy America, but rather just a pathetically ignorant cheap political opportunist.  Here’s how the article begins:

Increasingly, political judgment as well as basic common sense is being suspended in the White House. We are witnessing not only the dramatic dumbing down of US policy under the Obama administration, with cheap soundbites standing in for strong leadership, but also a staggering inability to comprehend the scale of the global war the West is engaged in, as well as a disturbing willingness to downplay its importance and forget the scale of the loss the American people suffered nine years ago.

And from that high point, Nile Gardiner, in this piece entitled, “The Gulf oil spill is not 9/11: the Obama administration plumbs new depths of stupidity,” takes off the kid gloves.

Ignorant dumbass or Manchurian Candidate?  You decide.

Obama Wants To Know ‘Whose Ass To Kick.’ Tell Him To Start With His OWN

June 8, 2010

Obama falsely presented himself as a great unifier, a “new politician,” one who would transcendentally rise above petty bickering and usher us into a new Utopia.

And remember all that garbage about Obama pointing to his election as the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and the planet began to heal?

The only problem is that he was in reality never anything more than a petty demagogue.  He’s a community organizer, and all that community organizers know how to do is racially divide communities and boycott businesses that create jobs and produce wealth.

Listen to the audio of Obama’s contemptibly arrogant boasts while watching footage of pelicans desperately floundering to somehow stay alive in the billions of gallons of oil contaminating the coasts.

And as Americans rightly blame Obama’s federal government more and more for this disaster, that demagogue is coming out to bite.

From the AP:

VENICE, La/WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama said he wanted to know “whose ass to kick” over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, adding to the pressure on energy giant BP Plc as it sought to capture more of the leak from its gushing well.

“I don’t sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar. We talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answer so I know whose ass to kick,” Obama said in an interview with NBC News’ “Today” to air on Tuesday.

They were the angriest words yet about the catastrophe from Obama, who has been criticized for his response to the worst oil spill in U.S. history. Obama reiterated that all those affected should be adequately compensated.

Why don’t you start by kicking your own ass, Obama?  And give it a good, hard kick right out of the office you are clearly not qualified to hold.

A Washington Post/ABC poll found that 69 percent of Americans believe the government had done a “not so good” or “poor” job handling the spill. Just over 1,000 people were surveyed in the poll, conducted between June 3 and 6.

Which is another way of saying, “Hey Obama, you suck!!!”

The American people think you should kick your own damn lying weaselly scrawny ass.

And here’s another little factoid via ABC:

A month and a half after the spill began, 69 percent in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll rate the federal response negatively. That compares with a 62 negative rating for the response to Katrina two weeks after the August 2005 hurricane.

Which is to say you are now officially a bigger failure over the Gulf disaster than George Bush was over Hurricane Katrina, Obama.  Please wear the title of Worst President EVER” proudly.

You really want to know whose ass to kick, Obama?  I cite myself from a previous article, and that is hardly all the reasons to blame Obama:

Barack Obama took more money from British Petroleum than any politician over a twenty year period.  In spite of the fact that he had only been in national politics for less than three years.  Barack Obama’s administration approved the project and granted the permit for the doomed BP drilling site.  Barack Obama’s administration helped quash environmental problems and issued an environmental waiver to BP at said doomed site only days before the disaster.  Barack Obama failed to take the disaster seriously and delayed serious action for weeks, fiddling with fundraisers, golf outings, and vacations while the Gulf went to hell.  The Obama administration has continued to delay and waste time pursuing the dotting of the i’s and the crossing of the t’s regarding mindless bureaucratic inanities.

That’s hardly all the reasons to point out that Obama bears a massive amount of responsibility for this disaster, or that he has been a complete failure in responding to the disaster.  And even many liberals are realizing the scope of Obama’s failure.

Instead of idly speculating whose ass you should be kicking, why don’t you resign from office, so someone who knows what the hell he’s doing can instead actually lead us to an actual solution to this terrible crisis???

We will have our chance to kick Obama’s ass in November.

Update, June 9, 2010:

The Looking Spoon suggests that an Obama official help Obama decide whose ass should be kicked first by means of a mirror:

And Bill Kristol had a magnificent point to make about Obama calling meetings of experts so he could decide whose ass to kick:

The best thing about his statement is not really that I’m — excuse the vulgarity, “I want to kick some ass, I’m angry.”  If the president said that, you’d say, fine, he’s angry. But I love his formulation that the reason I listen to these experts is that they have the best answers so I know whose ass to kick.

He’s so professorial that he thinks you have to call a meeting of experts to decide whose ass to kick. Don’t most politicians, most executives just decide that at some point, I’m going to go get mad and they don’t have the meetings experts in the Roosevelt Room to decide who to get mad at.

It had not yet occurred to me that I had never needed a room full of bureaucrats to decide whose ass I should kick until Kristol pointed that common sense out to me.  I’m just glad I wasn’t drinking milk when I heard this.

If You Support Obama, Please Quit Driving, Traveling, Or Using Most Household Products

June 4, 2010

Obama is rather like Oliver Hardy blaming British Petroleum like it was Stan Laurel: “Well, that’s another fine mess you’ve gotten me into!”  But the fact is that Obama was up to his eyeballs in this mess from the inception.

One example of the time-wasting bureaucratic idiocy that is so characteristic of shockingly poor leadership was the sand berms that Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal demanded.  Jindal spent weeks urging the federal government to construct sand berms that would protect the coastland and the vital marshes from oil seepage, but ran into one federal government delay after another.  He wanted some two dozen temporary berms, but the federal government dithered and then dithered some more.  Eventually the feds said they would allow six such berms.  And would only pay for one.  And that they wouldn’t allow any construction until after an environmental impact study.  While lethal oil began to contaminate the coastlands and marshes.

“It is clear the resources needed to protect our coast are still not here,” Gov. Jindal said.  “Oil sits and waits for cleanup, and every day that it waits for cleanup more of our marsh dies.”

44 days after the disaster, Obama graciously allowed Louisiana to construct six berms.  You know, the-build-a-barn-after-the-horses-left thing.

Jon Stewart absolutely skewered Obama’s incompetence by playing videos in which Obama vows “not to rest” until he solves the BP disaster, intermixed with video footage of all the useless garbage he’s been up to.

Jon Stewart link 1

Jon Stewart link 2

And then there’s the “never let a good crisis go to waste” thing.  Obama has handled this crisis more as a political problem than a national disaster from the outset.  And in Barack Obama’s brand of politics, you demagogue and you pander to leftist special interests.  And thus:

Obama: US must end its dependence on fossil fuels
3:16 PM on 06/02/2010
JULIE PACE, Associated Press

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Seizing on a disastrous oil spill to advance a cause, President Barack Obama on Wednesday called on Congress to roll back billions of dollars in tax breaks for oil and pass a clean-energy bill that he says would help the nation end its dependence on fossil fuels.

Obama predicted that he would find the political support for legislation that would dramatically alter the way Americans fuel their homes and cars, including placing a price on carbon pollution, even though such legislation is politically divisive and remains bogged in the Senate.

“The votes may not be there right now, but I intend to find them in the coming months,” Obama told an audience at Carnegie Mellon University. “I will continue to make the case for a clean energy future wherever and whenever I can, and I will work with anyone to get this done. And we will get it done.”

Obama said the country’s continuing dependence on fossil fuels “will jeopardize our national security, it will smother our planet and will continue to put our economy and our environment at risk.” […]

“The time has come, once and for all, for this nation to fully embrace a clean energy future,” the president said. […]

Obama also used the speech to lash out at Republicans with partisan rhetoric, saying they have mostly “sat on the sidelines and shouted from the bleachers” as he’s tried to restore the economy.

And thus Obama, who couldn’t be more responsible for this disaster without being the guy who blew up the platform, resorts to his constant stream of demagogic bullcrap.  It’s those Republicans who are responsible, you know: “The fact that I took all that BP campaign money, and then paid BP back by securing environmental waivers, and then paid BP back some more by letting BP broadcast the message that everything was under control and it was just a minor technical problem, nothing to worry about, is beside the point.  Republicans are evil, and they are to blame for everything.”

Mind you, Obama doesn’t have anything even close to a consistent energy position; to have that, he’d have to be an actual leader rather than a mere politically opportunistic demagogue.  Thus only a couple of months ago Obama was the one who ENDED the ban on offshore drilling (hint: not Bush):

From NPR, March 31, 2010:

President Obama announced the end of a decades-old ban on oil and gas drilling along much of the U.S. Atlantic coast and northern Alaska on Wednesday, as part of an effort to reduce foreign imports and win support for an energy and climate bill.

Then we had the Gulf of Mexico disaster, and suddenly “the end of a decades-old ban” suddenly became a brand new ban.  And the politician who accepted more BP-bribe money than anybody is suddenly shooting out demagoguery onto the airwaves the way that damn hole keeps shooting out oil into the ocean.

It’s not like Obama is an actual leader who needs a consistent policy; rather, he’s a pandering constantly-in-campaign-mode weasel who will say or do anything to gain a momentary political advantage.

And, of course, Obama also demonized oil companies.  Not just British Petroleum, the one actually responsible for paying Obama all those campaign contributions and creating the disaster, but ALL oil companies.  Because oil is as evil as Republicans.  And Democrats want to stop oil at all costs.

Forget the fact that this disaster was caused by Democrats who kept pushing oil companies further and further away from shore, into more and more and more dangerous conditions, until a disaster was inevitable.  Every single Democrat who has helped stopped oil drilling on the coastal shelf or – better yet, on our land – is partly to blame for this disaster.

Unless you don’t think we need oil.

But if you don’t think we need oil, the stop the hell using it.

Let me just put it this way: if you support Barack Obama, quit traveling.  Do not drive your car, do not take the bus, do not fly, do not get on a boat.  Because it’s finally time that you were consistent: ending oil means no oil.  So don’t use it.

Go to this site and make sure you don’t use any of the household products that contain oil, too.

My advice to you Democrats is just to move out of your house with all those evil oil products and live in a hole.  Don’t use a shovel to dig your hole – because it was made using oil – just scratch at the dirt with your fingernails.

Turn off your computer, too.  Because it’s got oil products, too.

And just climb in that damn hole and stay there.

Heck, maybe we could plug the hole in the Gulf with Democrats and have the best of all possible worlds.

Lifelong Democrat Strategist James Carville Says Obama A Disgrace Over Failure In Gulf Disaster

May 27, 2010

What do Democrats say when one of the political strategists most responsible for getting Bill Clinton elected argues that Barack Obama has been a total disaster and failure over his non-role in the Gulf of Mexico disaster?

They don’t care.  The Democrat mantra is, “If at first you don’t blame Bush successfully, blame, blame again.”

But let’s pretend the truth matters and blame Obama for HIS role in this mega-mess, as I pointed out earlier:

Let’s see.  Obama took the most political contributions from BP over a twenty year period, despite having less than a three year career in national politics.  His administration approved of the BP project that blew up and started gushing oil.  His administration issued an environmental waver to the BP platform only eleven days before it went boomHis administration did absolutely nothing for NINE DAYS while the crisis turned into a national disaster.  And as we speak, the Obama administration doesn’t have so much as a freaking clue about what to do for what is turning into the world’s worst oil disaster.

And let’s not forget that, only three weeks before this disaster exploded and spewed millions of gallons of oil all over us, that it was OBAMA saying “Drill, baby, drill.”

Carville is about as angry as I’ve ever seen him.  And I spent eight years watching him get lathered up throughout the Bush years.

James Carville Slams Obama on Oil Spill: ‘We’re About to Die Down Here!’ Stephanopoulos Still Spinning
By Scott Whitlock
Wed, 05/26/2010 – 11:33 ET

ABC political strategist, and prominent Democrat, James Carville appeared on Wednesday’s Good Morning America to condemn Barack Obama’s response to the oil spill.

A very emotional Carville surprised host George Stephanopoulos, a friend and former colleague in the Clinton White House, by shouting, “And it just looks like he’s not involved in this! Man, you have got to get down here and take control of this!” [Audio available here.]

Carville, a resident of Louisiana, attacked, “Put somebody in charge of this and get this thing moving! We’re about to die down here!

Stephanopoulos seemed taken aback by the instensity of his fellow Democrat and tried to spin for Obama: “Well, the President is going down on Friday. He’s announcing these tighter new regulations on Thursday.” The host implored, “What more can the President do here?”

Stephanopoulos, who was also talking to former Bush pollster Matthew Dowd, attempted to direct the conversation away from the spill in the Gulf and towards immigration. He gently pivoted, “Okay. You’ve answered that question.”

But, Carville returned to the topic and, again, snapped, “The Attorney General needs to investigate criminal negligence on the part of BP and what went on at MMS. There are a thousand of things that [Obama] can do. He just needs to get down here and start doing something. People are dying!”

Stephanopoulos reiterated, “Okay. Well, the President is going to be there on Friday.”

With a strong Democrat like James Carville blasting the President’s handling of the oil spill, it may become difficult for journalists to continue covering for Obama on this subject.

A transcript of the May 26 segment, which aired at 7:06am EDT, follows:

STEPHANOPOULOS: You know, the White House denies any political motivation here. But, immigration and this oil spill have become two, big political headaches for the administration. So, let’s bring in our political strategist, James Carville, worked for Bill Clinton. Matthew Dowd, pollster for George W. Bush, also some Democrats, as well. And, James, let’s begin with the oil spill. Last week, even though you’re an ally of President Obama, you blasted the White House. Said it was a lackadaisical response, said they were naive for trusting BP. And you went on to say that this is a disaster of the first magnitude. They have got to go to Plan B. Are we seeing Plan B now?

JAMES CARVILLE: Man, I hope so, George. Because, the political stupidity is unbelievable. Here, you have a situation, where you have some working- 11 working- hard-working people, blown up as the result of corporate malfeasance and maybe criminal negligence, as a result of inept bureaucrats who were part of the- you can actually blame the previous administration for this. And the President doesn’t get down here in the middle of this. This thing should be- his approval should be up seven points right now if he had come down. I have no idea of why they didn’t seize this thing. I have no idea of why their attitude was so hands-off-y here. It’s just unbelievable. Now, I hope he sees it now, because very seldom do you get good politics and the really the right thing to do. And that is to get involved here.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, the President is going down on Friday. He’s announcing these tighter new regulations on Thursday. Matthew Dowd, you lived through Katrina with President Bush. What we are seeing now, for the first time on this issue, a majority disapprove of how he’s handling it. But, do you see this posing a Katrina-like threat, political threat to President Obama?

MATTHEW DOWD: Well, I think this incident that happened, the environmental disaster that happened, is another example for the American public that they can’t trust corporations and big government to protect them. And I think ultimately, it will be a real political problem. It hasn’t affected his numbers yet. But, James is right. In a disaster like this, his numbers should be going up. Not just staying stagnant. And, ultimately, I think the country right now is so frustrated on a lot of things. This is just another example where they say, “What is government doing? And what can they do well?” We have disasters. And we’re seeming to be on Plan G ”

STEPHANOPOULOS: But, let me ask both of you this: What more can the President do here? He didn’t-

CARVILLE: George! George! George! The President of the United States could have come down here. He could have been involved with the families of these 11 people. He could have commandeered the things. We could have sent the Woods Hole people. He could have sent the Scripps on research vessels in the Gulf of Mexico. He could have implemented a plan in anticipation of this. You know, right, he can’t exactly fill the hole up. Last night I was on Larry King, the CEO, the former CEO of the Shell. They said they got 85 percent of the stuff cleaned up in the Gulf of Saudi Arabia. He could be commandeering tankers and making BP bring tankers in and clean this up. They could the deploying people to the coast right now. He could be deploying people to the coast. He could be with the corps of engineers and the Coast Guard with these people in Plaquemines Parish, doing something about these regulations. These people are crying. They’re begging for something down here. And it just looks like he’s not involved in this! Man, you have got to get down here and take control of this! Put somebody in charge of this and get this thing moving! We’re about to die down here!

STEPHANOPOULOS: Okay. You’ve answered that question. Let me turn to Matthew Dowd on immigration. Another big political wave heading toward the President, announcing these new troops towards the border. Will this be enough to stem this political wave that’s coming right at him?

DOWD: No. Not at all. And, I mean, ultimately, this was a political move. He would not have done this but for what happened with Arizona and what’s going on in the rest of the country. It’s not just an Arizona problem. The rest of the country thinks the government is broken and can’t- doesn’t have an immigration policy. So, yeah. I think this is a symbolic act. It’s not going to- 1,200 troops on the border that stretches from California to Texas is not going to do anything to stop drugs from coming over or stop the gang killings and all the things going on. It is symbolic. Presidencies, as James just said- Symbolism is very important. If you show up at a disaster, it’s important. I think the symbolism here, it’s not going to have substantive effect. But it is a political problem when the majority of the country supports what Arizona did.

STEPHANOPOULOS, And clearly, James, the Arizona member of Congress, Gabrielle Gifford, who announces he’s happy with what the President is announcing. But, the President has also got to manage a lot of others in his Democratic base, who are concerned that the push for comprehensive immigration reform may stall.

CARVILLE: He does. It’s a heck of a problem. I’m not exactly sure if you hear conflicting things. Some think that the crime rate in Arizona is down, with the number of illegals into Arizona is down over a period of time. I have no idea what the facts are. But, obviously, they have some problem on their border. They really feel that way. This is an area of great frustration. And he’s doing something. Hopefully this works. But, man, he’s got to- the other thing he needs to do. They need to launch a criminal investigation. The Attorney General needs to investigate criminal negligence on the part of BP and what went on at MMS. There are a thousand of things that he can do. He just needs to get down here and start doing something. People are dying!

STEPHANOPOULOS: Okay. Well, the President is going to be there on Friday. Thank you both for your passion and insight this morning.

Here’s Carville making similar arguments on youtube:

Dowd says it hasn’t affected Obama’s numbers yet.  Matthew, you dope, Obama is at 42%, with a whopping 56% disapproving of his performance!!!  If the BP disaster and Obama’s complete failure to respond to it haven’t hurt his numbers yet, just how low do you think he’s going to go???

As article author Whitlock points out, George Stephanopoulos is caught doing his darndest to shill for Obama.  Which is kind of a weird place for an ABC political journalist and host of ABC’s flagship political program to be, until you realize that just a few years ago he was a liberal Democrat Clinton hack until ABC decided that such demonstrated blatant bias didn’t matter.

But think about it: the overall mainstream media is now basically revealing that it is well to the political left of James Carville now.  And that is very, VERY far to the left!!!

When even James Carville realizes that Obama has been an abject failure, he has been an abject failure indeed.

Oh Oh For Obama: BP Disaster Was HIS Project. No Blaming Bush This Time!!!

May 3, 2010

Bob McCarty had a rather stunning surprise regarding the fiery explosion that is now building into the largest ecological disaster in American history.  It turns out it was all approved by Barry Hussein:

Drilling Plan for Doomed Rig Approved By Obama
April 30th, 2010 · No Comments

Dan Riehl brought to light an interesting piece of trivia related to the offshore drilling rig disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.  It appears the blame for this event, one of history’s worst environmental disasters, can’t be shuffled off to President George W. Bush.

Here are the facts that demonstrate just whose project this disaster was:

The Macondo prospect is situated on Mississippi Canyon block 252 (MC 252), offshore Louisiana, Gulf of Mexico, USA, and is owned and operated by British Petroleum (BP).

The initial exploration plan for the project was submitted by BP to Minerals Management Services (MMS) in March 2009. The plan included drilling and temporary abandonment of two exploration wells over the prospect. The operator took control over the prospect through the Lease Sale #206 by MMS in March 2008.

Deepwater Horizon explosion

Drilling over the prospect was initially planned to be carried out by Transocean’s Marianas rig, but later changed to Deepwater Horizon. Deepwater Horizon caught fire when it was drilling at Macondo in April 2010. The rig sank into water after the accident and is currently lying over the sea floor, around 1,500ft northwest of the well centre and away from subsea pipelines.

Returning to Bob McCarty:

That’s right!  It seems the initial exploration plan for the British Petroleum-owned Macondo prospect was, according to the folks at OffshoreTechnology.com, approved by the folks at the Minerals Management Service in March 2009.  MMS falls under the supervision of Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and, by working your way up the federal food chain, the approval authority lands squarely on the desk of President Barack Obama.

Dan writes: Obama said his administration was going to do something with the oceans, as I recall. I didn’t think he meant destroy them. heh!  Read the rest of his fine piece by clicking here or on the graphic above.

Ah, yes, that most arrogant boast ever spoken by the mouth of man:

“I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal”

Is Obama looking up and saying, “I said ‘When the rise of the oceans began to slow,’ not burn up in a huge oil slick!”

There’s some truly great mockery of “the man who must not be laughed at.”  But nowhere near enough.  What we’re seeing is that this is the moment when we began to provide death panels for the sick and expiring unemployment benefits to the long-term unemployed; this was the moment when the oceans began to burn and smell like kerosene and our planet began to seriously turn to crap.

The Democrats are looking for someone to blame, because demagoguery is all they’re good at.  But let’s not forget: the president who approved of this ecological disaster in the making is no other than Barry Hussein.
