Our National Disgrace Continues: Obama Invites Chinese Pianist To Insult Americans In White House

January 25, 2011

George W. Bush once went to Beijing and inadvertently went to the wrong door after a press conference.  It was proof positive for the left that George Bush was the dumbest human ever born.  It was all they needed to claim that he was a man without an exit strategy; that he was a man with the maturity of a five year-old.

Barack Obama went to the wrong door of his own damn White House and the left continued to assure us that he’s the smartest man who ever lived.

Well, the left that didn’t give a damn about reality then won’t give a damn about reality now.  But the fact of the matter is that our national disgrace continues as Obama continues to disgrace America.

Imagine the picture of Barack Obama sitting there grinning like the most idiotic village idiot out of all the villages of the world while a Chinese pianist that his own White House invited plays a song that calls Americans jackals that the heroic Chinese will gun down with hunting rifles.

My God.  Give me Bush going to the wrong door after every single engagement throughout his entire presidency.  But please spare me from having to endure one more second of this insufferable moron Barry Hussein…

Chinese pianist performs anti-American anthem at White House dinner in front of Obama

A Chinese pianist struck a sour note at a White House state dinner with a rendition of a well-known anti-American anthem.

With the Chinese and U.S. presidents among the dozens of dignitaries watching, Lang Lang belted out ‘My Motherland’, the theme tune to the Chinese-made Korean War film ‘Battle on Shangangling Mountain’.

The song has been a propaganda tool in China for decades and includes a disparaging reference to Americans as ‘jackals’ who will be shot with hunting rifles.

It is likely that Chinese President Hu Jintao and his delegation would have picked up on the reference, even if Barack Obama and the rest of the Americans did not at the time.

Speaking afterwards Lang Lang made no apology for his choice.

MY MOTHERLAND: THE LYRICS

Large billowing waves on this big river, Wind blowing the fragrant paddies of both banks, There is my house on the bank,

Where I can hear the usual boatman’s song As the boat with white sail passes by.
This is my beautiful Motherland, The land of my birth.
On this vast expanse of land, Everywhere is beautiful scenery.

A damsel is like a flower, That refreshes youthful mind, Scaling heaven and earth, Waking the slumbering mountain, As the river changes the scenery.

This heroine Motherland Is where I was brought up, In this ancient land of youthful strength.

Good mountain, water and place, That radiate tranquillity and happiness.  There are good wines for friends who come, And if there be wolves and jackals, We greet them with hunting rifle.

This is my big and powerful Motherland The land of my birth.
On this vast land peace radiates!

‘Playing this song praising China to heads of state from around the world seems to tell them that our China is formidable, that our Chinese people are united; I feel deeply honored and proud,’ he said.

Lang Lang’s performance came at the state dinner for President Hu during his recent official visit to the US.

It referred to a 1952 battle during the Korean War in which Chinese forces fought off repeated American and Korean attacks on Triangle Hill in Kimhwa, North Korea.

Four years later the events were turned into a Chinese-made film called ‘Battle on Shangangling Mountain’ which portrays a group of Chinese troops keeping the enemy at bay until reinforcements arrive.

The main song is ‘My Motherland’ which is sung by a young woman to injured troops includes a number of controversial lyrics including: ‘When friends are here, there is fine wine / But if the jackal comes / What greets it is the hunting rifle.’ The ‘jackal’ in the song is the United States.

The unabashed show of patriotism brought a strong reaction from some Chinese.

‘Those American folks very much enjoyed it and were totally infatuated with the melody!!! The US is truly stupid!!’ wrote one China-based blogger.

Yang Jingduan, a Chinese psychiatrist now living in Philadelphia, added: ‘’My Motherland’ having been played at the White House will be seen as a propaganda triumph in China.

‘In the eyes of all Chinese, this will not be seen as anything other than a big insult to the U.S.

‘It’s like insulting you in your face and you don’t know it, it’s humiliating.’

But another Chinese blogger said: ‘Suppose for a moment that Obama was invited to a banquet in China, and he invited an American artist who had performed in China for many years to play an American war song against China, what kind of reaction do you think the Chinese government and people would have?’

It is not clear if Lang Lang’s choice was indeed his own selection, although it is unlikely the Chinese ruling CCP party would have been unaware.

In interviews he claimed he was motivated by nothing more than national pride.

‘I thought to play ‘My Motherland’ because I think playing the tune at the White House banquet can help us, as Chinese people, feel extremely proud of ourselves and express our feelings through the song. I think it’s especially good,’ he said.

‘Also, I like the tune in and of itself, every time I hear it I feel extremely moved.’ The White House declined to comment on the choice of the song.

“The US is truly stupid,” wrote one Chinese blogger.  A bare majority of us actually voted for this dumbass.  And the remark about “Those American folks very much enjoyed it and were totally infatuated with the melody” undoubtedly refers to the president and his first lady juking and jiving to this stone-cold national bitchslapping of the face of the late great USA.

It’s not “the US” that is truly stupid.  It’s Democrats who are truly stupid.  They want to tell us how dumb Sarah Palin is when they’ve got the biggest moron in the history of morondom stumbling around the White House.

Obama is the quivering pile of slime who has has disgraced America by bowing down to America’s betters wherever he found them.  He went on a disgrace America tour after his election and just never stopped.

I don’t doubt for a second that he and Michelle danced a stupendous waltz to this national insult to the American people.

Rolling Stone Broke Journalistic Ethics In Publishing McChrystal Remarks

June 27, 2010

It’s ironic.  Barack Obama said that Gen. Stan McChrystal showed “poor judgment” in his comments to Rolling Stone.

I can’t disagree.  But I would hasten to add that he showed even worse judgment in his vote for president.

And now Obama is firing probably the only senior general in the US military who had the terrible judgment to vote for him.

We can breathe easy.  Now that the pro-Obama general is gone, we have Bush’s general running the war to go along with Bush’s Secretary of State running the military.

It appears that we have – in the case of Rolling Stone devouring Gen. McChrystal – yet another case of liberals eating one of their own.

And we have yet another case demonstrating that liberals and legitimate journalism simply do not mix.

That said, let’s see what integrity Rolling Stone threw away in order to have its “gotcha! moment”:

Rolling Stone broke rules over Stanley McChrystal interview
By Toby Harnden World Last updated: June 26th, 2010

So now we know. It is mind-bogglingly inexplicable why this is only emerging now (though I have one theory on that – see below) but it turns out that Rolling Stone did not run all its quotations past McChrystal’s staff as their editor said they did. The general’s staff now say that all the offensive quotations were clearly off the record. So far from this being “terrific journalism” as my colleague Harry Mount put it, the Rolling Stone piece now looks much more like a disgrace to the profession.

I say mind-boggling because if McChrystal’s staff had come out with this in the first few hours of the furore on Tuesday morning then the entire narrative of the week would have changed and the general might very well still be in his job today.

My hunch as to why it didn’t come out earlier? Basically, because McChrystal is an honourable man who thought it would be unseemly to quibble about the details. There could have been a tactical element to that, certainly – perhaps he or his staff calculated that trying to wriggle out of things would not be viewed kindly by Obama and that it could have fuelled a row with Rolling Stone that might have made things worse (if so, how wrong they were).

Politico has a list of the 30 fact-checking questions submitted. The most interesting one is number 30 in which Rolling STone asks whether McChrystal did indeed vote for Obama. The reponse – irony of ironies – was this:

IMPORTANT — PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE THIS — THIS IS PERSONAL AND PRIVATE INFORMATION AND UNREALTED TO HIS JOB. IT WOULD BE INAPPROPRIATE TO SHARE. MY REASON FOR THIS IS IT WOULD PRESENT AN UNDUE COMMAND INFLLUENCE ON JUNIOR OFFICERS OR SOLDIERS WHO SHOULD MAKE THEIR OWN POLITICAL DECISIONS. THERE ARE VERY STRICT RULES IN THE MILITARY ON SEPARATING CHURCH AND STATE ON THIS SORT OF STUFF – HAVE TO KEEP OUT OF POLITICAL PREFERENCE AND PERSONAL CHOICE.

But, of course, they left it in. It’s difficult to escape the conclusion that Rolling Stone did not care a hoot about the agreed journalistic ground rules or about McChrystal. They were out to get him and get him they did.

This is sadly all history now and nothing can change Obama’s decision. But it would be interesting to know if anyone in the White House even inquired into whether the profane and juvenile quotations about civilian officials were really on the record or if they just took Rolling Stone’s word for it.

If they didn’t, think about what this means: the Obama administration accepts the word of a counter-culture magazine and doesn’t even bother to check with the four-star general commanding 100,000 troops in wartime whose career the magazine is seeking to destroy.

We can endlessly speculate whether the Fool-in-Chief was right in canning his record-setting second general.  We can’t know for sure whether Obama canned McChrystal because he is at heart a vain, arrogant, petty, thin-skinned, vindictive man – as I listed as the reasons in predicting that Obama would fire McChrystal – or rather because there truly was some better reason.

What we DO know is that when one actually reads the Rolling Stone article, there really wasn’t a whole lot of “there” there.  The very worse thing McChrystal’s staff did was to reveal that Obama’s civilian leadership team in Afghanistan were in complete chaos.  It does seem that nothing can be worse in the Obama administration than telling the truth.  But that’s where we are.

Liberals in the mainstream media hailed the firing of Stanley McChrystal as though it were the most brilliant and courageous act of presidential leadership in world history.  It wasn’t.  It was a sad and tragic situation – even if Obama did the right thing.

The best thing that will come from this change is likely this: that General David Petraeus will change General McChrystal’s godawful rules of engagement and actually give the soldiers and Marines under his command the ability to carry the fight to the enemy.

Obama Degenerates From Inexperienced To Flat-Out Childish

September 17, 2008

Barack Obama’s inexperience has been an issue since he began running for President.  But maybe voters should be looking into the issue of his childishness instead.

Obama has been running ads like this one:

“The dishonest smears that he repeats even after it has been exposed as a lie, truth be damned–a disgraceful, dishonorable campaign.

After voting with Bush 90 percent of the time, proposing the same disastrous economic policies. It seems that deception is all he has left.”

Now, that charge might be meaningful – and not merely the sniveling nonsense of a spoiled-rotten little brat – but he is simultaneously running ads like this one.

“John McCain has even said Social Security is a disgrace. I couldn’t disagree more. Our Social Security isn’t a disgrace. It’s a compact, a trust between generations of Americans. It’s a reflection of our values.”

Did John McCain really call Social Security a disgrace?  Not even close.  And its a horrible lie from horrible people to claim that he did.  Let me continue.

I found this from Media Matters, of all places:

ABC’s World News, NBC’s Nightly News, and the CBS Evening News have yet to cover the following statement Sen. John McCain made about Social Security during a July 7 town hall meeting in Denver: “Americans have got to understand that we are paying present-day retirees with the taxes paid by young workers in America today. And that’s a disgrace. It’s an absolute disgrace, and it’s got to be fixed.” According to a Washington Post article by reporters Jonathan Weisman and Michael D. Shear, McCain “sought to clarify his remarks” by saying young people are, in McCain’s words, “paying so much that they are paying into a system that they won’t receive benefits from on its present track that its on, that’s the point.”

Now, having read what McCain said was disgraceful, let me provide you with the definition of a Ponzi scheme:

A fraudulent investing scam that promises high rates of return at little risk to investors. The scheme generates returns for older investors by acquiring new investors. This scam actually yields the promised returns to earlier investors, as long as there are more new investors.

What John McCain actually said was a “disgrace” was the fact that Social Security has been allowed to degenerate into a massive Ponzi scheme, in which new investors are (forcibly!) bilked into paying off the older investors before the whole thing collapses.

Now, if Barack Obama wants to come out and say, “I intend to preserve Social Security as a doomed Ponzi scheme that will leave younger workers with nothing, and I will defy anyone who attempts to reform this broken system that would be illegal if anyone other than the government were perpetuating it,” fine.

Otherwise, Barack Obama is villifying John McCain – and claiming that “deception is all he has left” – when in reality HE is the slimy deceiver who ought to be pointed out as a villian by his own twisted standards.

Barack Obama is telling a shockingly perverted lie about John McCain even as he hypocritically calls McCain’s integrity into question.

According to an analysis by the TNS Media Intelligence Campaign Media Analysis Group (TNSMI/CMAG) and the University of Wisconsin Advertising Project, 77% of Barack Obama’s ads are negative, compared to only 56% of John McCain’s ads being negative.  And Obama is complaining about McCain going negative?

Barack Obama is the political equivalent of a five year old, who punches another kid, then cries like a an immature little baby when he gets punched back, and runs off to tell his teacher a pack lies to try to get the other kid punished.

Given this, and given what Democrats tried to do to Sarah Palin through vicious and hateful bogus attacks, I hope voters tell Obama what to go do with himself come November.

The one thing this country can do without is a lying Whiner-in-Chief.
