More Americans Than Ever Think America Heading Into A Depression (Thanks Obama!)

We keep hearing the mainstream media repeat the Obama narrative that Obama saved America.  Really?

He’s made everything WORSE, not better.  And most Americans KNOW it.

Poll: Record-high number think country headed into depression

A record-high of nearly half the country fears the economy is careening  toward a depression, helping push President Barack Obama’s approval rating down by six points  in just the last two weeks, according to a new poll.

The president’s approval rating stands at 48 percent in the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Tuesday, down from 54 percent in late May in the same poll. His disapproval rate rose three points to 48 percent.

Obama’s approval among Democrats has dropped three percent to  82 percent and is dipped five percent among independents to 42 percent.

Obama’s dropping numbers come as Americans’ fears that the country is headed  into another Great Depression are higher than they’ve ever been in the CNN poll.  In all, 48 percent of those surveyed said another great depression is likely in  the next 12 months, while 41 percent said the same in 2009 and 38 percent said  so in 2008. A slight majority – 51 percent – said they don’t think the economy  will plunge into a deep depression.

But while Americans are voicing concern that the economy is getting worse and  plunging toward a depression, Obama said Tuesday that he’s “not concerned about a  double-dip recession.” Job growth in May totaled 54,000 jobs, far fewer than the  economy has create for several consecutive months, but Obama said it’s not yet  clear if last month was “a one-month episode or a longer trend.”

If it turns out to be a longer trend, it could be detrimental to Obama’s hopes of reelection.

Fifty-one percent of those surveyed said that the economy is extremely important in determining their votes  for president, while 41 percent said it is very important. Unemployment is  second on the list of issues that respondents said are key to their voting  decisions, with 45 percent saying it’s extremely important. Other issues  including the deficit, terrorism and illegal immigration are extremely important  to smaller proportions of those surveyed.

The poll was conducted June 3-7 and surveyed 1,015 adults. The error margin  is plus or minus three percentage points.

Combine the fact that more Americans than EVER BEFORE believe America is heading into a GREAT DEPRESSION with this Gallup finding and explain to me why this fool has any chance whatsoever of getting re-elected beyond the fact that we may have become the nation of sheep and fools that our ancestors feared:

(CNSNews.com)Barack Obama has now been president for more than 29 months, yet in none of those months has a majority of Americans believed the nation’s economy is getting better rather than worse, according to the Gallup poll.

In fact, in no month of Obama’s presidency has belief that the economy is getting better exceeded 41 percent among American adults, a peak it reached in April 2010 and again in January 2011.

In the most recent three day-period reported by Gallup—July 1-July 3—only 31 percent of Americans said they believed the economy was getting better. Meanwhile, 63 percent said they believed it was getting worse.

Each day, Gallup asks approximately 500 American adults a simple question: Do they think that economic conditions in the country as a whole are getting better or getting worse? Gallup then regularly publishes the most recent three-day average percentage for each answer, while periodically publishing the monthly averages.

While 41 percent is the highest percentage of Americans who told Gallup they believed the economy was getting better during any month of the Obama presidency, there have been some three-day periods in which a somewhat higher percentage told Gallup they believed the economy was getting better.

However, since the three-day period ending on Oct. 15, 2009, according to day-by-day data released by Gallup, the percentage of Americans who said in any three-day period that they believed the economy was getting better peaked at 46 percent on Dec. 30, 2009-Jan. 3, 2010.

The last time as many as 40 percent of Americans said they believed the economy was getting better was in the three-day period that ended on Feb. 16, 2011.

In June, belief that the economy was getting better never rose higher than 34 percent in any three-day period.

That’s right.  There has never been so much as a SINGLE month that the American people have EVER believed Obama was making the economy better.

This is truly the days of the Failure-in-Chief.

Obama is the most cynical demagogue since Hitler.  If he manages to get re-elected, it will be for one reason and one reason only: the American people have become depraved and perverted, and depraved and perverted people believe lies and cannot understand the truth.

This is really quite amazing, given the constant media propaganda constantly assuring us that recovery is right around the corner and every new piece of bad economic news was somehow “unexpected.”  But the majority of the American people have never once believed that our führer has NEVER been anything other than a failure.

We voted for an evil man.  We voted for the “God damn America” candidate.  And what a surprise, God damn America is precisely what we have.

If you think that more Marxism or more of the militant homosexual agenda will change that, then go vote for Obama and his Democrats again.  Go ahead.  Vote for more hell.  Because one day soon under ObamaCare you’re going to die and then you will burn there for all eternity.

If you think that 1 in 7 Americans being on food stamps is the way to go, and 1 in 5 would be better yet, then by all means, keep voting for the food stamp president.

Ronald Reagan famously said, “If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.”  That is exactly what Obama has done; he has taxed and regulated and strangled success and he has subsidized and rewarded failure.  And now we’re supposed to be shocked at all the failure we’re seeing???

Economic Recovery? Shoppers Say It’s A Bunch Of Store-Brand Baloney

Remember how Obama and Democrats and their Joseph Goebbels propagandists in the mainstream media kept reporting that the stimulus had created jobs, but the American people kept saying, “Baloney!”?

And this particularly baloney is a store brand purchased with a coupon.

From me on February 17th:

According to a New York Times/CBS poll, a whopping 94% of the American people agree with Bayh. Only 6% of Americans believe Obama’s massive porkulus has created jobs a full year after going into effect.

Only SIX PERCENT of Americans believe that Obama’s porkulus has created any jobs at all.  That means more Americans believe that space aliens have anally probed them than believe in the stimulus.  It also means that 94% think Obama and his entire administration and the entire Democrat congressional leadership are completely full of crap.

And 48% of Americans polled don’t think porkulus will EVER create jobs.

All that nothingness for the low, low price tag of only $862 billion.

Basically, we’ve got the same thing going on with the economy.  Obama, the Democrat Party, and the mainstream media are increasingly being ignored as they keep assuring us that the economy is moving along just swimmingly.  And that’s a good thing.

Economic Recovery? New Study Underscores Shoppers’ Concerns and Store Brands’ Continuing Appeal

NEW YORK, March 31 /PRNewswire/ — By a very sizeable margin, American consumers appear to be at odds with recent reports that the economy has improved.  A new nationwide study reveals that more than eight out of ten supermarket shoppers see no improvement in the economy, and forty percent actually believe things have gotten worse.  As consumers continue to cope, the study affirms, the appeal of store brand products is stronger than ever and may even be intensifying.

The findings are based on a poll of nearly 800 main household grocery shoppers conducted in February 2010 by GfK Custom Research North America for the Private Label Manufacturers Association, New York. Among the GfK study highlights:

  • For most American shoppers, the recovery has yet to begin. Asked whether the economy has changed over the past few months, 40% said conditions were worse, while another 42% said things have stayed the same. Fewer than one in five felt the economy had improved.
  • As a result, the recent surge in store brands sales is likely to continue. When asked how important economic conditions were in deciding to buy a supermarket store brand, four in ten responded “very important.” A solid majority of consumers — more than six in ten — said they plan on buying more private label as they attempt to stretch their food dollars. Another finding that may also accrue to store brands’ benefit: Half of shoppers intend to spend less money on groceries in the months ahead.
  • Consumer awareness of store brands is also rising. More than half of respondents said they are more aware of store brand products now than they were a year ago.
  • Moreover, shoppers who identify themselves as “frequent” buyers of store brands are at an all-time high. Some 57% say they buy private label products frequently, a figure that has been increasing (it was under 55% a year ago).
  • A greater number of shoppers are switching to store brands in product categories where they had previously only purchased a national brand. Some 43% report they have recently forsaken a familiar national brand for a private label counterpart, a marked increase since June 2009 when only 35 % said they had done so.
  • Virtually all of the shoppers who switched are pleased with their decision. Ninety-seven percent compared store brands favorably to their previous national brand choices in the same categories. About half said that their store brand selections compare “very favorably,” a dramatic increase from the June 2009 study when only one quarter reported that.

Study participants endorsed a variety of strategies to cope with what they see as a persistently difficult economy.When asked how they think the economy will impact their supermarket shopping habits, more than two thirds said they will take advantage of discounts by buying larger sizes or quantities for items they regularly purchase; two thirds will look for more coupons and promotions on national brands.  About a third plan to change the stores or types of stores where they do their primary grocery shopping.

PLMA commissioned GfK to monitor consumer attitudes and behavior toward store brands in the U.S. as private label sales and market shares across all retail channels began to surge about two years ago. Sales of store brand products topped $86.4 across the major U.S. retail channels over the past year, according to the latest data compiled by The Nielsen Company for PLMA. In supermarkets alone, where market share in units reached an historic high of 23.7%, store brands growth outpaced national brands by a spread of 8 basis points and dollar market share also set a new record at 18%. Store brands accounted for 90% of the sales growth in supermarkets, adding $1.5 billion in incremental sales (+2.9%), while national brand sales were virtually flat for the year at +0.1%.

The February 2010 survey updates findings from two earlier PLMA studies on “Store Brands and the Recession,” published in February 2009 and in June 2009. GfK Custom Research North America is part of the GfK Group, the world’s fourth largest market research company.

The elitist mainline liberal talking heads are going to keep talking because they couldn’t shut up if they tried.

The poll finds that 79 percent of voters think it’s possible the economy could collapse, including large majorities of Democrats (72 percent), Republicans (84 percent), and independents (80 percent).

“Change” is “fundamentally transforming” America into socialism, and “hope” is praying that we don’t get to find out what the Great Depression looks like firsthand.
