Debt Ceiling Fiasco Again Shows Obama Polarizing, Dishonest And In Over His Head

July 23, 2011

First of all, this debt ceiling issue is critical and could literally lead to the complete collapse of the United States.

The U.S. dollar is the official global “reserve” currency.  Commodities such as oil are bought and sold exclusively in dollars.  And because of this status, the United States is not only able to purchase these commodities much more cheaply than other nations, but it can borrow more and finance its debt at far cheaper interest rates.

Here is an article dated 10 February 2011 containing a VERY ominous threat to the status of the dollars as the reserve currency:

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — The International Monetary Fund issued a report Thursday on a possible replacement for the dollar as the world’s reserve currency.

Major countries such as China, Russia, India and Brazil have already determined that they want to END the almighty status of the U.S. dollar.

And note all of these articles precede the current “debt ceiling fiasco.”  Which is to say that this was ALREADY a growing crisis.

If the United States defaults on any of its debt – or even if the U.S. credit rating is downgraded – the consequences could be utterly devastating.  Our low interest rates will shoot upward beyond our ability to continue financing debt; we will suddenly have economy-killing oil and commodity prices.

This wouldn’t have been such a terrible crisis if Obama had been honest and promised that the U.S. would and could meet its obligations.  Instead he used the debt ceiling deadline (said “deadline” already having been changed three previous times) to dishonestly demagogue and fearmonger the crisis ala Rahm Emanuel’s “never let a serious crisis go to waste” advice.  In short, OBAMA LARGELY MANUFACTURED THIS CRISIS.  Because all the rating agencies have done is take Obama’s demagogic rhetoric seriously.

I have said a number of times on this blog that when the Unites States financially implodes, it will happen very fast.  And this could be the last card in the house that makes the whole unstable structure come crashing down.

And here’s the thing.  Who is leading America through this minefield?

Barack Hussein Obama.

He is THE most inexperienced and unqualified president in U.S. history.  Hillary Clinton RIGHTLY ran the “3 A.M.” ad against him:

Joe Biden RIGHTLY said Obama was not ready to be president:

Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) Reaffirmed That Obama Was Not Ready To Be Commander In Chief. ABC‘s George Stephanopoulos: “You were asked is he ready. You said ‘I think he can be ready, but right now I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.’” Sen. Biden: “I think that I stand by the statement.” (ABC’s “This Week,” 8/19/07)

Sen. Biden: “Having talking points on foreign policy doesn’t get you there.” (“Biden Lashes Out At Obama,” ABC News’ “Political Radar” Blog, blogs.abcnews.com, 8/2/07)

Barack Obama’s primary qualification for being president was that he had been a U.S. Senator for only 142 days prior to announcing his run for the presidency.  Prior to that, he had been a nobody.  He had been a nobody Illinois state senator.  He had been a community agitator.  He had NEVER ran a business and he had NEVER met a payroll.

Barack Obama is also THE most liberal and radical president.  He was THE most liberal Senator in the entire nation prior to announcing his run for the presidency.

Barack Obama is also the most divisive and polarizing man to ever serve as a president of the United States.  And to quote:

“President Barack Obama is the most polarizing president in American history, according to a poll released by the Gallup organization Monday.

The average difference in Obama’s approval ratings between Democrats and Republicans turned out to be 65 percent — the highest first-year gap of any president so measured.”

And Obama is the most cynical and dishonest president in United States history.

Obama ran as a transformative candidate who would transcend the political divides.  As the New York Times wrote:

WASHINGTON — At the core of Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign is a promise that he can transcend the starkly red-and-blue politics of the last 15 years, end the partisan and ideological wars and build a new governing majority.

To achieve the change the country wants, he says, “we need a leader who can finally move beyond the divisive politics of Washington and bring Democrats, independents and Republicans together to get things done.”

But this promise leads, inevitably, to a question: Can such a majority be built and led by Mr. Obama, whose voting record was, by one ranking, the most liberal in the Senate last year?

History proves that was an evil lie.  You just TRY to show me how this country is more unified now than it had been.  Anybody who isn’t an abject MORON knows that’s ridiculous.  And if you’re a liberal and want to argue that Obama’s failure to fulfill the above promises was somehow all Republicans’ faults, then let me simply point out that it was an incredibly STUPID as well as incredibly dishonest and cynical promise to make.  Because only the worst and frankly most demented of fools would not have realized that the other party would not follow him like some pied piper.

But when you read my article that refers to the New York Times article above, you will immediately see that Obama never even bothered to TRY to live up to his “core promise.”  He was divisive and imperious from his very first day.  Obama poisoned the well between Democrats and Republicans with his “I won” crap.  He shoved a “stimulus” that ultimately was a $3.27 TRILLION Keynesian boondoggle down the nation’s throat on a bunch of false promises that it would create jobs and get America out of recession.  He shoved a terribly unpopular socialist takeover of our medical system.  Everything the man has done has polarized and divided the nation.

By the way, Obama’s dishonesty literally permeates from Obama’s very first decision to even break his promise and run for president:

SEN. OBAMA: I will serve out my full six-year term. You know, Tim, if you get asked enough, sooner or later you get weary and you start looking for new ways of saying things, but my thinking has not changed.

MR. RUSSERT: But, but—so you will not run for president or vice president in 2008?

SEN. OBAMA: I will not.

Governor Chris Christie has similarly promised he would not run for president.  I have a feeling that Christie is a far more honest man than Obama and will stick to his word.  More on that later.

Obama began his presidency by breaking his promise not to run for president.  Obama’s “core promise” is now clearly revealed to have been a cynical lie.  The man has lied without shame so many times it is unreal.  And it becomes ridiculous to try to keep track of his lies.

Obama is also a pathetic incompetent.  He is a disgrace to the presidency.  He presided over a Democrat Party that had complete control of both the House and the Senate and his government couldn’t even produce a budget.  It was an unprecedented dereliction of a basic duty.  And we’re at something like the 815 day mark since the Democrats last passed a budget.  And Obama was the man in charge of this abject fiasco.

And then when Obama himself finally came up with a budget earlier this year, it was just a useless piece of garbage that it was voted down 97-0 in the DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED United States Senate, with not even one DEMOCRAT able to say, “This budget WASN’T the brain-dead result of a complete fool who is an utter disgrace to this country.”  Obama is out doing press conference after press conference pretending that he wants to reduce the deficit; BULLCRAP!  That terrible budget fiasco he submitted would have added $12 TRILLION to our debt!!!

And if you’re fool enough to try to argue that Obama ISN’T incompetent, you explain those two facts.  You explain how Obama and his party could preside over this kind of complete failure to perform even the most basic function of governance.

Yesterday Harry Reid shut down any vote of the House-passed cut, cap and balance bill.  That bill has the distinction of being the ONLY bill that has passed either house of Congress or the White House that would solve our debt ceiling crisis, for what it’s worth.  No vote.  No debate.  Harry Reid just shut both down using his status as Majority Leader.  Reid called the cut, cap and balance bill “weak and senseless” and “perhaps some of the worst legislation in the history  of this country.”  Apparently because this racist bigot Reid liked the Fugitive Slave Act that his Democrat party once passed.

Meanwhile, the Democrats who refused to even DEBATE or VOTE on the ONLY bill that ANYBODY has passed to solve our debt crisis continue to say that Republicans are “unreasonable.”  Because apparently shutting down discussion on the ONLY piece of legislation we’ve got to save this country is “reasonable.”

So Democrats don’t have anything to offer but demagoguery and demonization.

Obama is discussing some kind of deal without bothering to have anything on the table.  Speaker of the House Boehner has described negotiating with Obama as trying to negotiate with Jello that’s been left out of the refrigerator.  He’s all over the place because he doesn’t have any proposal of his own to adhere to.

Senator Jon Kyle said:

SEN. KYL: But we have no idea what he’s talking about.  That’s the problem. Republicans are not willing to make a deal based upon some vague commitment that, sometime in the future, the president might be willing to look at something that he won’t identify.

It is an abject disgrace and a complete failure of leadership that Obama doesn’t have a plan to argue from or rally consensus to.

Oh, oh.  I just said “failure of leadership.”  Which forces me to quote Barack Obama on what even asking for an increase in the debt ceiling means in his own words:

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure,” he said. “It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.”

That remark from Barack Obama alone epitomizes why this fool has ZERO BUSINESS being president of the United States.  The VERY WORST THING any Democrat can possibly say about Republicans is that they are being as despicable and cynical as THEIR OWN WORTHLESS DISGRACE OF A PRESIDENT.

How DARE this fraud lecture anybody about anything related to the debt ceiling after his own shrill demagoguery?!?!?

And so here we are.  We’ve got a president who is clearly incompetent, who has proven himself untrustworthy, attempting to pass a deal without having any kind of a plan whatsoever about what he wants to get done.  Republicans have nothing to examine and nobody to trust.

Republicans have been burned more than once by dishonest Democrats who want tax hikes now and promise cuts later.  The fact of the matter is that no agreement can bind a future Congress.

We may well be going down because we voted for the Antichrist’s useful idiot.  In voting for Barack Obama, we voted to cut our own throats.

Just remember this is God damn America.  And we’re getting precisely what we voted for.

One last thing.  The ONLY reason we “need” to raise our debt ceiling is because Washington CANNOT get it’s act together and CANNOT stop itself from reckless spending.  We need to cut spending, not raise our debt ceilings over and over again.  We need a balanced budget amendment, not four more years of Obama’s reckless policies.

Most Red Ink Ever: Congratulations On Your ‘Historic’ Presidency, Obama

August 26, 2009

Virginia Slims used to run an ad campaign called, “You’ve come a long way, baby.” The ads for the women’s-marketed cigarette brand ran on the theme that it was hip and modern for women to smoke. But the hidden subtext of the campaign was, “Look how far you’ve come: now you can die a nasty preternatural death of cancer just like the men.”

In a lot of ways, Barack Obama is the new “You’ve come a long way, baby” poster boy.  He was marketed as the historic first black president in American history – but now that we’ve come this far, we’re going to see our nation perish to a cancer of “Marxist-red” ink.

A couple of truly terrifying articles who just what an unmitigated – and historic – disaster Barack Obama’s presidency has been in just six short months:

Obama’s 09 deficit exceeds all eight years of Bush red ink

How much is President Obama boosting federal spending? The Heritage Foundation’s Brian Riedl puts a little perspective on the numbers made public today:

· This year, Washington will spend $30,958 per household, tax $17,576 per household, and borrow $13,392 per household. This spending is not just temporary: President Obama would permanently keep annual spending between $5,000 and $8,000 per household higher than it had been under President Bush.
· The 22 percent spending increase projected for 2009 represents the largest government expansion since the 1952 height of the Korean War (adjusted for inflation). Federal spending is up 57 percent since 2001.

· The 2009 budget deficit will be larger than all budget deficits from 2002 through 2007 combined. More than 43 cents of every dollar Washington spends in 2009 will have been borrowed.

· One would expect the post-recession deficit to revert back to the $150 billion to $350 billion budget deficits that were typical before the recession. Instead, by 2019, the President forecasts a $917 billion budget deficit, a public debt of 77 percent of GDP, and annual net interest spending of $774 billion.

· The White House projects $10.6 trillion in new deficits between 2009 and 2019—nearly $80,000 per household in new borrowing.

· None of these estimates include the cost of health reform.

· The White House underestimates future budget deficits by trillions of dollars by (1) assuming that discretionary spending will be frozen to inflation for the next decade, (2) assuming that cap-and-trade revenues will be available to finance a Make Work Pay credit (the House-passed bill allocates those revenues elsewhere), (3) assuming health care reform will be deficit-neutral, and (4) assuming certain tax increases that are unlikely to be enacted.

Exceeding eight years of Bush deficits in just six months?  You’ve come a long, way, baby.

Most red ink ever: $9 trillion over next decade

By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer Jim Kuhnhenn, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON – In a chilling forecast, the White House is predicting a 10-year federal deficit of $9 trillion — more than the sum of all previous deficits since America’s founding. And it says by the next decade’s end the national debt will equal three-quarters of the entire U.S. economy.

But before President Barack Obama can do much about it, he’ll have to weather recession aftershocks including unemployment that his advisers said Tuesday is still heading for 10 percent.

Overall, White House and congressional budget analysts said in a brace of new estimates that the economy will shrink by 2.5 to 2.8 percent this year even as it begins to climb out of the recession. Those estimates reflect this year’s deeper-than-expected economic plunge.

The grim deficit news presents Obama with both immediate and longer-term challenges. The still fragile economy cannot afford deficit-fighting cures such as spending cuts or tax increases. But nervous holders of U.S. debt, particularly foreign bondholders, could demand interest rate increases that would quickly be felt in the pocketbooks of American consumers.

Amid the gloomy numbers on Tuesday, Obama signaled his satisfaction with improvements in the economy by announcing he would nominate Republican Ben Bernanke to a second term as chairman of the Federal Reserve. The announcement, welcomed on Wall Street, diverted attention from the budget news and helped neutralize any disturbance in the financial markets from the high deficit projections.

The White House Office of Management and Budget indicated that the president will have to struggle to meet his vow of cutting the deficit in half in 2013 — a promise that earlier budget projections suggested he could accomplish with ease.

“This recession was simply worse than the information that we and other forecasters had back in last fall and early this winter,” said Obama economic adviser Christina Romer.

Let’s go back to a couple of Wall Street Journal articles to see the patent falsehood to the claim that Obama didn’t know how bad things really were:

1)Obama Budget Relies on Rosy Economic Forecasts” – February 26, 2009.  Liberals have tried to assure everyone, “Nobody could have known…”  But to quote Obama’s campaign rhetoric, “Yes, we can.”  At least if you write for the Wall Street Journal or a similar publication that doesn’t get it’s talking points from the Obama White House.  People with half a brain (which understandably excludes the overwhelming majority of liberals) knew that Obama was pumping manure and offering one false promise based on one false assumption after another.

The truth is that there were plenty of dire forecasts and claims that Obama’s numbers didn’t jive with reality; the fact that the White House didn’t listen isn’t anyone’s fault but Obama’s.

2)Obama’s Rhetoric Is The Real Catastrophe” – February 13, 2009.  Barack Obama repeatedly fearmongered the economy by comparing it to the Great Depression in order to force his ill-fated $3.27 trillion stimulus fiasco through Congress.  The porkulus package was rushed through the legislative branches so quickly that no one actually even had a chance to read the darn thing – and then Obama took four days to sign the damn thing so he could have fun in Chicago.

Obama promised that if his stimulus was passed he would create hundreds of thousands of jobs and keep unemployment under 8% – and the reality has been an even bigger dud than the most conservative Republican predicted it would be.

Obama and his apologists are trying to argue that they didn’t know that the economy was so bad, but that is the most transparent and pathetic excuse given the fact that they repeatedly compared the state of the economy to the Great Depression.  Here’s the question, when they did that, were they simply demonizing, demagoguing, and fearmongering – thinking all the while that they were actually lying – or were they telling the truth as they understood it (i.e. that things were catastrophically bad)?  If the latter, their excuse that they didn’t know things were actually so bad simply vaporizes – because how could our present economy be worse than the Great Depression which they were comparing it too?  If the former, then Obama is literally a demon who cynically hurt tens of millions of Americans by driving down the economy merely to sell his self-serving political agenda.

That Obama and his Democrat allies are liars is already a given, it’s simply a question of when they lied.  And we can only hope that he is incompetent in his governance, rather than despicable in his deceitful and cynical manipulation.

As for unemployment “heading for 10%,” I personally agree with respected analyst Meredith Whitney: I see unemployment going to 13% or HIGHER.  By 2011, nearly half of the mortgages in our nation will be “underwater,” with owners owning more on the homes than the homes will be worth.  Obama has done virtually nothing to address the fundamental problem underlying why our economy crashed in the first place; and we’re going to pay dearly for that failure.

Let me tell you, as someone who pointed out that Barack Obama was woefully and terribly inexperienced and not up to the job over a year ago, the community-organizer-in-chief is simply not up to the job.  And neither are the radical leftwing punks that he has primarily surrounded himself with.

The liberals began to shrilly claim that Bush was incompetent during his second term over the issue of his handling of Iraq; but it needs to be pointed out that Bush ultimately DID succeed in Iraq – and by pursuing the “surge strategy” that Democrats and Obama himself demonized.  Bush won the war in Iraq even while Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was wailing, “I believe that this war is lost.”

But now, only months into his presidency, even the LEFT is starting to distrust Obama’s competence.  This isn’t a partisan issue anymore – liberals are beginning to doubt Obama’s competence to accomplish his liberal agenda.  Democrats themselves are pointing out all the things Obama’s done wrong, and failed to do right.  And – while I cheer Obama’s inability to succeed in his socialism – that’s still bad, because we have no real leader, and we’re going to increasingly start drifting as a nation.

Yeah, you’ve come a long way, Barry Hussein.  You’ve come all the way from the “historic presidency of the first African-American in the White House,” to the most historic failure that the White House has ever seen.  And your policies are proving to be such a historic failure after only six months that this nation may literally not survive the remaining 3 1/2 years of your term until we can vote you out of office and be finally rid of you.

It is a terrible and tragic shame that the mainline media propagandists fixated so much on the color of Barack Obama’s skin that they failed to look at the color of his failed ideology or his complete lack of necessary experience to lead this country.

What McCain-Palin Need To Do From Tonight’s Debate Till Election Day

October 7, 2008

John McCain is being saddled with the anger and fear of voters over the financial collapse, according to most polls.  Up until this week, neither President Bush, Senator McCain, Governor Sarah Palin, or most Republicans bothered to respond to the repeated Democrat charges that this fiasco was the result of the “failed policies of the last eight years.”

That perception needs to be changed by through a deliberate and sustained effort.  It needs to begin tonight.  And it needs to continue until November 4.

Barack Obama has been arguing that “guilt by association” is invalid.  But Obama’s central charge against John McCain amounts to pure guilt by association: John McCain is NOT George Bush, and he has never BEEN George Bush.  His entire career stands as a screaming testimony to the fact that he is very much his own man.

John McCain needs to find a few popular measures that President Bush supported and ask Barack Obama, “Do you oppose this because President Bush was for it?  How about this?  And this?”

When Barack Obama again and again says that John McCain has voted with George Bush 90% of the time, McCain needs to remind voters that Barack Obama has voted with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid fully 97% of the time.  He needs to remind voters that Barack Obama is the personification of a Democrat-controlled Congress that has a 9% approval rating – the worst in American history; worse than the 12% rating Congress had in 1979.  Meanwhile, even Barack Obama has voted with Bush 40% of the time, and more conservative Democrats like Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu have voted with Bush over 70% of the time.

Given the fact that Democrats are likely to not only continue to hold power – and even expand their power to a filibuster-proof majority -this economy cannot afford the domination of tax-and-spend socialist liberals in total control of our government.

John McCain and Sarah Palin need to examine Barack Obama’s tax plan.  Obama claims that 95% of Americans would get a tax cut; the Republicans need to ask Obama if he actually believes that every single American pays taxes, such that 95% of Americans would receive a cut, and 5% would face a steep increase.  Do Barack Obama’s two little girls pay taxes?  How can he possibly give a “cut” to 95% of Americans?  In reality, Barack Obama is using the IRS tax code to give at least 30% and as many as 40% of American tax filers who DON’T pay federal income taxes what amounts to a welfare check.  And that is hardly what this economy needs right now.  Republicans need to point out that Barack Obama will heavily increase the taxes of small business owners and people who invest in jobs and supply the money this country needs in order to grow and expand.

When you tax small business owners, they lay off employees; when you tax investors, they shelter their money.  And that is hardly what this economy needs right now.

Barack Obama wants to give away another $845 billion dollars of American taxpayer money to the poor of the world in his Global Poverty Act.  It would cost each citizen at least $2500.  And that is hardly what this economy needs right now.

Barack Obama wants to massively socialize the American health care system – which represents about a quarter of the American economy.  He makes a lot of promises, but the costs would be staggering.  Massachusetts passed a law mandating universal coverage that promised to lower costs in utopian fashion; it is now facing $400 million in cost overruns in small state population in a short period of time.  Barack Obama’s plan would be the same sort of disaster on a far more massive scale.  And that is hardly what this economy needs right now.

Barack Obama is trying to blame President Bush and Republicans for the financial disaster when Democrats are all over it.  John McCain needs to point out that past Obama advisor Franklin Raines was involved in massive fraud and chicanery of Fannie Mae just a couple years ago.  He needs to point out that Obama advisers – and lifelong Democrats – Jim Johnson, Franklin Raines, and Jamie Gorelick raided well over $300 million in bonus money from Fannie Mae even as the agency was crumbling.  McCain needs to point out that Republicans DID try to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – which held over $5 trillion in mortgage assets – but that Democrats repeatedly blocked those attempts at regulation in the name of keeping the flow of mortgage loans available to poor and minority home buyers who couldn’t repay their obligations.  John McCain needs to point out that he himself prophetically warned the American people of this crisis two years ago when something could have been done to prevent this fiasco.  McCain needs to point out that Barack Obama himself has personally been deeply in the pockets of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – as well as corrupt and negligent Lehman Bros – at a rate that goes far beyond anyone else in Congress.  And that his relationship as an instrumental part in securing these terrible subprime loans with Fannie Mae go back to his days as a radical ACORN organizer.

John McCain needs to use Barney Frank as the poster child of Democratic negligence over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  Barney Frank – who had an inappropriate (homo)sexual relationship with a key Fannie Mae official even when his Congressional committee had direct oversight in regulating the agency.  Barney Frank – who said for five years that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were healthy, and who led the Democratic fight against the very sort of regulation Democrats now claim the Republicans are guilty of having been opposed to.  Barney Frank – the leading overseer of GSEs for the last two years – was continuing to claim that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were fine as recently as July 14 of this year.  And John McCain needs to point out to the world that Fannie Mae’s and Freddy Mac’s stock crashed 90% while Democrats had direct control and direct oversight of these massive GSEs.

And that sort of corruption and incompetence is not what this economy needs right now.

Further, John McCain needs to point out that Barack Obama hasn’t merely had radical associations, but radical alliances.  Barack Obama spent 23 years steeped in the worldview of a radical, racist, anti-American pastor and church.  Barack Obama is the first “God damn America!” candidate for President.  And Barack Obama was more than just “palling around” with terrorist bomber William Ayers – in his capacity as a member of the Chicago Annenburg Challenge board, Barack Obama was directly in charge of administering funding in support of William Ayers radical Marxist educational initiatives.  Barack Obama didn’t merely “associate” with a terrorist who did something bad when Barack was merely 8 years old; Barack Obama officially partnered with William Ayers as a grown man as recently as 2001 to put “more than $100 million into the hands of community organizers and radical education activists.”

And that sort of radical activity is not something that either this country or this economy needs right now.

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said, “I believe that this war is lost.”  And Barack Obama would have ensured that the war would have in fact been lost had he been President.  Obama talks about the loss of American prestige; does he genuinely believe that American troops slinking home in defeat with an emboldened terrorist enemy following us home would improve our international prestige?  John McCain needs to link Harry Reid’s proclamation of defeat with Barack Obama’s determination to snatch defeat from the jaws of success.

That defeatist mentality is not something that this country can afford right now.  As costly as a war is, the United States cannot afford to lose – and we would have lost had Barack Obama recalled the troops in defeat as he wanted to do three years ago.

Finally, John McCain needs to lead this nation to the conclusion that Barack Obama – the most radical, the most inexperienced, the most untested – candidate for President in this nation’s history, is not what either this country or this economy need right now.
