Dan Rather: ‘Obama Couldn’t Sell Watermelons’

March 10, 2010

We can only wonder what would have happened if Fox News anchor emeritus Brit Hume had said the following:

“Part of the undertow in the coming election is going to be President Obama’s leadership. And the Republicans will make a case and a lot of independents will buy this argument. “Listen he just hasn’t been, look at the health care bill. It was his number one priority. It took him forever to get it through and he had to compromise it to death.” And a version of, “Listen he’s a nice person, he’s very articulate” this is what’s been used against him, “but he couldn’t sell watermelons if it, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic.”

[Youtube]

If Brit Hume had said that, the left would have ripped their robes in self-righteous outrage and shouted, “BLASPHEMY!”

But it wasn’t Brit Hume who said that our first black president couldn’t sell watermelons.  It was liberal legend Dan Rather who said it.

And so instead of pulling out every stop to label the statement as a rant of typical racist conservative hate, the same media talking heads who would have been all over this story are either omitting it completely or else giving it the “he didn’t really mean it” spin job.

Chris Matthews jumped in with a frenzy to prevent liberal icon Dan Rather from saying something even more stupid or more racist.

Chris Matthews – who once managed to forget Barack Obama was black for a whole entire hour – apparently had his memory jogged when Dan Rather started spouting off about Obama and watermelons.

If Rather had been given a chance to fully explain himself, maybe he would have said something like, “Obama couldn’t sell watermelons.  What he needs to do is sell something he CAN sell.  Maybe he can’t sell watermelons, so he should sell fried chicken instead.”

And it’s such a shame that Obama couldn’t even manage to sell watermelons if the (presumably white) state troopers were out helping him.  I mean, after all – as Harry Reid can vouch – Obama is a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,’ and you’d think he could have a fine career in roadside watermelon sales.

And Bill Clinton would hastily point out that if Obama didn’t have the knack for selling watermelons (or fried chickens), he could fulfill his true calling of serving his betters their coffee.

All of that is just the very recent stuff.

And these are the very sort of slime who have repeatedly characterized conservatives and Republicans as being “racists” when they’ve got more racism in their pinky fingers.

George Allen was a Senator and a leading hopeful for president when he said one word which so outraged Democrats that they ended his career.  He didn’t talk about black people selling watermelons; he didn’t try to lecture on the advantages of ‘light skinned’ African Americans vis-a-vie the “darkies” who were more likely to suffer from “Negro dialect”; he didn’t suggest that a man who is now president of the United States would have or should have been serving coffee instead.  He used a single word – macaca – that required a study in etymology to suggest that it might just possibly be racist.

There was no suggestion that Allen wasn’t a racist, or that he probably meant something else, or that there should be forgiveness, or even that we need to get past the ‘gotcha’ moments.  They simply screamed that he was a racist and destroyed him.

And there’s your selective tolerance of liberals.

Which is why we always seem to have a cult of pardon for liberals, to counterbalance the cult of demonization that the very same people who pardon the liberals apply to conservatives.

I’m not inclined to assume that Dan Rather is a racist.  That seems to be the prerogative of liberals.

But I am more than inclined to point out that these people are a bunch of  self-righteous hypocritical slimeballs.

Obama Calls For Tolerance And Civility While His Rabid Rodents Throw Hate Bombs

February 8, 2010

I hate Obama’s Marxist policies, certainly enough.  But the thing I despise most about Barack Obama is his galling personal hypocrisy.

He is a man who makes a false promise that he never keeps, and then continually congratulates himself about those very same promises.  He promised transparency that he never delivered, but keeps talking it up as though he really DIDN’T have  his meetings on “transparency” closed to the public and the media; and as though he really DID put the health care negotiations on C-SPAN like he promised at least 8 times on video; as though his ObamaCare WEREN’T so secretive that even senior Democrats admitted they were completely in the dark; and as though Obama really WEREN’T denying the media of access far worse than his predecessors had ever done.  He patted himself on the back for getting lobbyists out of Washington as if his administration DIDN’T have at least30 of them on the payroll; and attacked lobbyists at his state of the union as if he DIDN’T have a schmoochy meeting scheduled with them for the very next day.  He promised to end earmarks, then signed a bill that had nearly 9,000 of them – and just instructed Democrats to submit their earmark requests for the upcoming budget even as he told the country that he was “calling on Congress to continue down the path of earmark reform.”  And all I can say when Obama talks about reforming earmarks now is that it is too damn bad we didn’t elect John McCain.

The left is angry at Obama’s failed promises (a failed promise = a lie, by the way) as well.  Obama promised to close Gitmo.  He lied.  Obama promised to have had the troops home from Iraq by now.  He lied.  Obama promised to resolve the conflict in Afghanistan with his own personal magnificence.  And more than TWICE as many American soldiers gave their lives under Obama in Afghanistan in 2009 than during Bush’s last year in office.

Is it any wonder that he is the most polarizing president we have ever seen?

But Obama’s signature lie was his cynical promise from the most radically leftist Senator in Congress to transcend the political divide and bring the parties together.  Democrats, of course, blame Republicans; but it wasn’t the Republicans who promised to do it, was it?  The president who mockingly told Republicans “I won” when they tried to talk to him, and who repeatedly demonized Republicans for their “failed policies of the past,” is now actually upset that Republicans would take anything approaching the same attitude with him that he took with them.

We’re not supposed to be able to talk about HIS failed policies after he attacked us about a hundred million times with the very same claim?

Is it any wonder that his polls are now even LOWER than they were before he gave that deceitful state of the union?

Obama wants conservatives to lay down their arms even as his cockroach minions continue to shrilly attack them.  Apparently he truly thinks people are that stupid.

Here were Obama’s words at the national prayer breakfast (which he ultimately politicized, because the man just can’t help himself):

Obama at “national prayer breakfast”: The President calls for tolerance and civility

At the event of the “national prayer breakfast” in Washington on Thursday, U.S. President Barack Obama has urged his fellow countrymen to adhere to the ‘spirit of civility’, affirming that “civility is not a sign of weakness”.

The event which attracts leading political, religious and business leaders was witness to the famous oratorical power of the US president.

“Too often that spirit (of civility) is missing without the spectacular tragedy,” Mr. Obama said. “We become numb to the day-to-day crises. We become absorbed with our abstract arguments, our ideological disputes, and our contests for power. And in this tower of babble, we lose the sound of God’s voice.”

He remarked that we should be open to differing views and make a concerted effort to abandon the cynicism and skepticism that have done enough harm to American politics already.

Obama has repeatedly dishonestly demonized Republicans as obstructionists and hatemongers – which, for the record, is a very obstructionistic and hatemongering thing for him to do.

In his Q and A session with House Republicans, Obama said:

I mean, the fact of the matter is is that many of you, if you voted with the administration on something, are politically vulnerable in your own base, in your own party. You’ve given yourselves very little room to work in a bipartisan fashion because what you’ve been telling your constituents is, “This guy’s doing all kinds of crazy stuff that’s going to destroy America.”

And how are Democrats supposed to embrace Republican ideas in a bipartisan fashion when Democrats just like YOU repeatedly demonize George Bush and demagogue Republicans for “the failed ideas of the past,” Mr. Hussein?

There’s a joke that Obama finally honored George Bush by naming the tectonic region beneath Haiti as “Bush’s Fault.”  It’s not far from the truth.

Does Barry Husein seriously not realize that every single Democrat in the Senate voted for ObamaCare (not withstanding the outright bribes such as the Louisiana Purchase and the Nebraska Purchase)?  Since when is it that every single Democrat voting for a Democrat bill is good, but every single Republican voting against a Democrat bill is bad?  Wouldn’t both Republicans AND Democrats be voting both for and against a bipartisan bill?

Since Democrats love to claim about how “bipartisan” they have been, I would love to see a Democrat offer me a list reciting 100 specific instances in which Obama or Democrats have said, “We’ll do this your way” on significant elements of any and all legislation.

It would be nice if Obama and Democrats paid attention to the giant log in their own eyes.  Just for once in their lives.

Meanwhile, Obama’s supporters are like frothing-mouth rabid vermin:

New York Slimes I mean Times columnist Frank Rich:

New York Times columnist Frank Rich would have rebelled against the notion that opposing President Bush’s policies was unpatriotic. But he can shamelessly declare that opposing Obama’s agenda is unpatriotic – even if you’re John McCain. Rich wrote on Sunday:

If [Harry] Reid can serve as the face of Democratic fecklessness in the Senate, then John McCain epitomizes the unpatriotic opposition. On Wednesday night he could be seen sneering when Obama pointed out that most of the debt vilified by Republicans happened on the watch of a Republican president and Congress that never paid for “two wars, two tax cuts, and an expensive prescription drug program.”

Rich wasn’t going to find it ridiculous that Obama was blaming Bush for an “expensive” Medicare entitlement that Democrats voted for and/or felt wasn’t expensive enough – just as Obama blames Bush for the deficit effects of TARP, which he voted for.

It should be remembered that John McCain spent something like six years in the hellhole of the Hanoi Hilton in Vietnam and suffered terribly physically as a result.  To accuse him of being “unpatriotic” after what he went through for his country is a disgrace from a disgrace of a newspaper.

Not to be outdone as a moral disgrace, Chris Matthews basically compared the Republican Party to the leftist communist regime that murdered well over a million people:

Chris Matthews: Far Right Republicans Like Cambodian Regime (VIDEO)

Huffington Post   |  Danny Shea First Posted: 02- 1-10 05:36 PM   |   Updated: 02- 1-10 05:59 PM

Chris Matthews compared the far right wing of the Republican Party to the Khmer Rouge, the genocidal Cambodian communist party led by Pol Pot, in MSNBC’s coverage of President Obama’s Q&A with House Republicans Friday night.

“The Republican Party is under assault from its far right,” Matthews said. “I don’t think I can remember either party being under assault by its extremes. I mean, there seems to be a new sort of purity test that unless you’re far right, you’re not a Republican, and this sort of tea party testing they’re doing now.”

Matthews called the party’s pull from the far right “frightening” in comparing it to the Cambodian regime.

“So what’s going on out there in the Republican Party is kind of frightening,” he said, “almost Cambodia reeducation camp going on in that party, where they’re going around to people, sort of switching their minds around saying, ‘If you’re not far right, you’re not right enough.’ And I think that it’s really – there’s going to be a lot of extreme language on the Republican side. And maybe, it will be a circular firing squad when this is all over.”

Just two days prior, Matthews came under fire for saying that he forgot President Obama was black for an hour while watching his State of the Union, a post-racial comment he would later clarify.

So let’s understand, this closet bigoted turd who is continuously aware of Obama’s blackness (light-skinned blackness with no Negro dialect only, mind you!) says that there’s a lot of extreme language coming from the Republican side — but only AFTER comparing those same Republicans to a communist regime that systematically murdered 1.7 million of their own people.

And speaking of bigoted turds….

Rachel Maddog I mean Maddow:

Maddow: Tea Party Conventioneers Are Racists In White Hoods
By Noel Sheppard
Sat, 02/06/2010

Rachel Maddow on Friday referred to attendees of the National Tea Party convention in Nashville, Tennessee, as white-hooded racists.

Continuing MSNBC’s sad tradition, Maddow first attacked one of the convention’s speakers: “The opening speech last night was given by failed presidential candidate, ex-congressman and professional anti-immigrant, Tom Tancredo who started the event off with a bang, a big loud racist bang.”

From there, she went after the audience (video embedded below the fold with transcript).

What a bigoted, vicious, racist thing of you to say, Rachel.  But according to Obama, who only attacks Fox News for being biased, Barry Hussein tacitly approves of every single word.

And we can get back to Barack Obama and pretty much the entire Democrat Party as repeatedly demagoguing the Republican Party as “the party of no” when it is now an openly acknowledged fact that they were never any such thing.

Cited from a recently written article:

For another thing, it isn’t true that Republicans have ever been “the party of no” and offered no ideas:

Despite the “lecture” by the commander-in-chief, as one member described it, Republicans had the opportunity to articulate the proposals they’ve sent to the president over the past year.

And for the first time, Obama acknowledged that House Republicans had crafted measures to stimulate the economy, reduce the budget deficit and reduce health insurance costs.

At a number of times during the rare, televised, question and answer session with members, the president said that he had read many of their proposals.

“I’ve actually read your bills,” the president said to a packed banquet room at Baltimore’s Marriott Renaissance hotel.

In other words, it is now a matter of public record that Democrats have been intentionally lying, misrepresenting, slandering, and demagoguing Republicans all along.  Why on earth should Republicans have cooperated with these vile people?

So Democrats can just shut the hell up with their accusations of Republicans saying or doing ANYTHING until they clean up the thousands of cockroach nests that constitute their political wing, and start being HONEST for once in their lives.

Personally, I am quite willing to cease fire on the rhetoric wars; all I need to see is for Barack Obama to denounce the mainline media for their lies rather than continually attacking Fox News; all I need to see is the Maddows and the Olbermanns and the Mathews of the news to be fired; all I need to see is for the left to quit demonizing and demagoguing.  And I will happily practice all the “tolerance” and “civility” Obama wants.

The problem is that that will never happen, because the left is demagogic and hypocritical to their very cores of their dried-out, shriveled little souls.

And the fact that Barack Obama is out in front of the cameras beseeching for “tolerance” and “civility” while his minions are viciously and hatefully attacking day after day without any rebuke from the president just proves my point.

Arlen Spector Commands Michelle Bachmann To ‘Act Like A Lady,’ Meaning Sit Down And Shut Up

January 21, 2010

You’ve got Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid essentially saying that dark-skinned black people – especially any who have any of that “Negro dialect,” need not apply for high office.  You’ve got former President Bill Clinton saying that even light-skinned blacks should basically be serving coffee rather than sitting in the White House.

Now you’ve got Democrat Arlen Spector explaining what it means to “act like a lady.”

Basically, it means, “Submit to my bullying.”

I can assure you that Michelle Bachmann can “act like a lady” a lot easier than Arlen Spector can “act like a Homo sapiens.”

Bill Clinton wanted black people to stay in their place so his wife could be the president.  Now we’ve got Arlen Spector demanding that Michelle Bachmann stay in her place and act like that quiet, demure lady who submissively allows the man to dominate a debate.

Well, at least he didn’t ask her to give him what Bill Clinton asked Monica Lewinsky to give him.

There’s your “Democrats being Democrats” for today.

Hopefully, women in Pennsylvania truly WILL “act like ladies” and vote this fossil out of office.

Harry Reid And The New Uncle Toms

January 15, 2010

What is an “Uncle Tom”?

Uncle Tom is a pejorative term for a black person who is perceived by others as behaving in a subservient manner to white authority figures, or as seeking ingratiation with them by way of unnecessary accommodation.

Hmmm.

I wonder if anything like THAT is going on anywhere?

Black leaders in Nevada rally around Reid campaign

By OSKAR GARCIA
Associated Press Writer

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A group calling itself “African-Americans for Senator Harry Reid” is launching a drive to help re-elect the Nevada Democrat.

The effort, announced Thursday, comes less than a week after the Senate majority leader faced criticism over comments he made about President Barack Obama in 2008.

Reid’s campaign already had been dogged by low poll numbers and criticism over health care legislation.

Reid apologized last weekend after a book revealed that during the 2008 presidential campaign, he described Obama as a light-skinned African-American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

Obama accepted the apology and called the matter closed. Democrats have since defended Reid’s record on civil rights and rejected calls for him to step down.

We can only assume these are all light-skinned blacks with no trace of Negro dialect unless they want to FOOL people by pretending to have one.  I mean, when you look at the clear meaning of Harry Reid’s ideas, “darkies” with Negro dialects need not apply.

I wish I could ask Harry Reid what a “Negro dialect” is.  Do I have a Negro dialect?  Where can I get it removed, or at least alter it so that I can turn it on or off as I wish to pander to one particular group versus another?

Why is it that the black people who embrace the Democrat Party that formerly enslaved them – and oppose the Party of Lincoln who fought for and won their freedom – aren’t the Uncle Toms?

Why is it that the black people who are Republicans just like Martin Luther King (both Sr. and Jr.) ARE?

Why is it that Democrats compare Republicans to the Klu Klux Klan, when the only guy who actually wore a pointed hat (as the Kleagle and Exalted Cyclops of a Klan, no less!) was Robert Byrd, Democrat?

This whole “Uncle Tom” thing makes about as much sense as black “leaders” surrounding Harry Reid.  They probably also surround Bill Clinton, who wishes Barack Obama were getting him coffee (even though he’s one of the “light-skinned Negroes”!) while his wife sits in the Oval Office instead of a black man.

If I may digress for a moment, it is remarkable that a man who had just exhibited just profoundly racist views would be seen to still have so much influence within the Democrat Party that he is being sent to help rescue Massachusetts for Democrat Martha Coakley.

The most insulting and offensive part of this is that these same black “leaders” would have been surrounding and protecting Bill Clinton as his human shields in droves if he were still in office.  And the only reason they AREN’T out in force protecting him is because he no longer has the power to hand out government goodies.

As it is, Bill Clinton’s racism is just greeted with a kind of embarrassed silence on the part of the left.  He’s revealed as a racist, but Democrats don’t particularly care.

This whole pattern of ‘black leaders’ saying, “You either give us goodies at taxpayer expense or we’ll call you ‘racist,'” even as they protect racist liberals who give them goodies at taxpayer expense, is quintessential despicable.

Let me end with someone about the concept of “Uncle Tom.”

In the novel the Uncle Tom character is a Christian martyr, morally superior to his white owners in an antebellum fiction whose subtext was an argument that the institution of slavery was immoral. Numerous adaptations altered the depiction substantially, often rendering him feeble, servile, or a race traitor. These adaptations, along with critical distaste for the original character’s passivity, contributed to the strongly negative connotations of the name in modern popular use.

When I was a child I read Uncle Tom’s Cabin without prejudice or racism to taint my reading.  And the character of Uncle Tom shown through to me like a brilliant star in the heavens.

It is the perverted, warped attitude and lack of character that slimed “Uncle Tom” that we see today.

Uncle Tom’s Cabin – and particularly Uncle Tom as the central character – was not only a powerful force in generating the moral outrage that led to the demand to free the slaves, but its impact further weakened the Democrat South by forcing European powers to refuse to help them.  Abraham Lincoln, upon meeting Harriet Beecher Stowe, said, “So you’re the little woman who wrote the book that started this great war!”  I’m providing a link that has numerous articles documenting this fact.  But the same racist Democrats who started the Ku Klux Klan also used their elitist mindset to degrade the character of Uncle Tom from moral hero to sniveling coward in order to remove the sting from themselves.

For Harriet Beecher Stowe, Uncle Tom was a Christ figure.Stowe’s Tom is a gentle, humble, Christian slave. His faith is simple, natural, and complete”; whereas “the stage Toms represented a major, and demeaning, departure from the original Uncle Tom.”  And what is sick is that black leaders who should have known better turned their backs on Uncle Tom the Christ figure and spat on him.

Again, I vividly remember as a child reading Uncle Tom’s Cabin and falling in love with the beautiful, Christlike spirit I read about.  He was a man who remained completely true to his deepest beliefs and convictions in the most terrible of circumstances.  And for black leaders to turn this noble character into a joke and an insult of what not to be may be the most damning indictment as to how far the black community has strayed.

The Democrat Party As The Party Of The Clean, Light-Skinned, Coffee-Serving Negro

January 11, 2010

Apparently, liberal filmmaker Oliver Stone is planning to give Adolf Hitler the sympathetic treatment that the left could just never bring themselves to give to George Bush.  Said Stone:

“Stalin has a complete other story… Not to paint him as a hero, but to tell a more factual representation. He fought the German war machine more than any single person. We can’t judge people as only ‘bad’ or ‘good.’ Hitler is an easy scapegoat throughout history and its been used cheaply. He’s the product of a series of actions.”

That pesky objective, transcendent Judeo-Christian morality.  Good thing we have postmodernist liberals around to tell us that we can’t judge whether Hitler and Stalin are ‘bad.’

Apparently, the left is willing to see anyone in a more favorable light.  Again, except for one George W. Bush.

That’s pretty much the way it is.  Liberals will give their own – even the most vile of their own – the benefit of the doubt.  The only unpardonable sin for these people is being a conservative.

A book entitled Game Change reveals Democrats demonstrating profound racism, with both Harry Reid and Bill Clinton letting us know what they REALLY think of their darker-hued brethren.

But the narrative is pretty much that they’re Democrats, so there clearly must be some other explanation other than racism.  And as long as other liberals agree that the liberals can’t have been racist, everything is clearly okay.  Just a slip of the tongue.  Nothing to see here.

It was just last month that Harry Reid invoked slavery to attack Republicans, which is to say that Republicans were as guilty of opposing health care as they were during the days of slavery.  Only, of course, it was DEMOCRATS who were the party of slavery, and it was Republicans – the Party of Lincoln – who literally went to war in their opposition to defeat the Democrat Party of slavery.

Well, the same mealy-mouthed racebaiter who insinuated that Republicans were racists last month is having his own racist attitudes revealed this month.

Two journalists, Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, made this assertion in a book to be released next Tuesday.

“He [Reid] was wowed by Obama’s oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama – a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,’ as he said privately. Reid was convinced, in fact, that Obama’s race would help him more than hurt him in a bid for the Democratic nomination,” they write.

Here is what Senator Reid had to say: “I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words,” Reid said in a statement to CNN. “I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African Americans for my improper comments. “I was a proud and enthusiastic supporter of Barack Obama during the campaign and have worked as hard as I can to advance President Obama’s legislative agenda.”

I’m sure that Joe Biden quickly jumped in to add that the light-skinned African Americans are “clean” compared to the dark-skinned ones, too.

The funny thing is that Reid’s liberal defenders are pointing at “context.”  They claim that Harry Reid was speaking POSITIVELY about Barack Obama, so what Reid said really wasn’t all that bad.

But the “context” in which Harry Reid was speaking positively about Obama was that he was a “light-skinned” negro, rather than one of those foul, dirty DARKIES.  And what Harry Reid was marveling at was that Obama – unlike all those darkies – talks fancy white rather than that slovenly “negro dialect.”

I mean, seriously, if I were a dark-skinned black guy who occasionally said “ax” instead of “ask,” I’d be awfully pissed off at this arrogant elitist white bastard who leads the United States Senate – and at the party he belongs to.

Harry Reid’s Democrats weren’t nearly as forgiving toward Trent Lott as they think we should all be now.  Trent Lott was trying to honor long-serving US Senator Strom Thurmond on his 100th birthday and made a comment that admittedly could have been said a LOT better.

The words that doomed Trent Lott’s political career:

“When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn’t have had all these problems over the years, either.”

For what it’s worth, just to underscore the obvious massive hyperbole, Trent Lott in fact did NOT vote for Strom Thurmond; he was only seven years old when Thurmond ran.  Note, also, that Trent Lott did NOT say, “When Strom Thurmond ran as a Dixiecrat segregationist, we voted for him so we could keep black folk in the back of the bus.”

He was trying to honor an elderly man who had landed in Normandy on D-Day with the 82nd Airborne Division, and been decorated for heroism, among other things.  Lott wasn’t honoring racism or segregation; he was simply honoring an old man who had been America’s longest serving US Senator.

Trent Lott apologized, too, and attempted to explain what he had intended to say.  But his words fell on deaf ears with Democrats screaming for his head.

Now, maybe Trent Lott should have resigned for his apparent racial insensitivity.  But only if Harry Reid should resign, now.

Barack Obama, who so “graciously” accepted his fellow Democrat’s apology, had no graciousness in his heart for Trent Lott.  He demanded Lott’s resignation.  And in the December 12, 2002 issue of the Chicago Defender, Obama had this to say:

The Republican Party itself has to drive out Trent Lott. If they have to stand for something, they have to stand up and say this is not the person we want representing our party.”

And if the Democrat Party doesn’t want to be the Party of light-skinned African Americans who don’t have a Negro dialect, they should stand up and drive out Harry Reid.

When the Don Imus “nappy headed hoes” comment came out, Barack Obama tore into Imus, saying he should be fired.  But how are Harry Reid’s comments one iota less heinous than Imus’, particularly given that Imus’ words were at least offered as a joke, rather than as a serious and honest assessment, as Reid’s remarks were?

What if a Republican had said exactly the same thing that we now know Reid said?  Do you seriously think Obama would have benignly accepted his apology?  Or would the president have angrily told the country that the Republican “acted stupidly,” before really launching into him?

Michael Eric Dyson, a professor at Georgetown University, said it this way:

To be honest, the Republicans are given a high hand here because our side refuses to say anything that is even intelligible or coherent about the issue of race and to sweep it under the carpet as if it makes no difference. If a white Republican had said this, this would be huge news. They would be making hay out of it, calling for his resignation. I think we’re hypocrites and we’re morally weak here.

[Youtube video]

And how about Harry Reid?  How did Reid deal with the remarks made by Trent Lott, his Senate colleague from the other side of the aisle?  He uttered words that now resound with rank, vile hypocrisy:

“He had no alternative,” said Reid at the time claiming, “If you tell ethnic jokes in the backroom, it’s that much easier to say ethnic things publicly. I’ve always practiced how I play.”

Yeah, we sure see how you practice and how you play now, don’t we, Harry?

Trent Lott is GONE for lifting up a 100 year old man on his birthday.  And he didn’t even say anything about light-skinned versus dark skinned Negroes, or Negroes with versus without “Negro dialect.”

Let me ask you a question: one day soon, Senator Robert Byrd will retire from the US Senate.  Do you think that Democrats will say kind words or harsh words about the career of the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan?

What will they say to honor the man who once said:

“The Ku Klux Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth in West Virginia”.

What are they going to say to honor the man who once wrote:

“I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side… Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.”

— Robert C. Byrd, in a letter to Sen. Theodore Bilbo (D-MS), 1944

Shall we stipulate up front that every single Democrat who ever has had or ever will have a single kind word to say about Senator Robert Byrd or his career be required to submit his or her resignation and forever afterward wear a scarlet “R”?

Democrats were the party of slavery, and the party of the Klu Klux Klan (and see the link here for a thorough treatment).  They were the party of the Klanbake at the 1924 Democrat National Convention.

But at some point, the Democrat Party began to morph into the party of the immediate post-civil war reconstruction, when elitist whites decided that ignorant, inferior blacks couldn’t do anything for themselves.  They needed whites to lead them.

They went from being the Confederate Party of institutionalized slavery to the Union Party of the white benefactor, as epitomized by the words of the Colonel James Montgomery character in the movie Glory:

“They’re little monkey children, for God’s sake. And you just gotta know how to control them.”

Good little monkey child.  Keep voting for us and we’ll keep handing out bananas.

Although, to be fair, in the case of Harry Reid, apparently we’re only talking about the DARK-skinned Negroes.

If you can’t own them outright, then bribe them with handouts until you basically DO own them.

Here’s what should be a famous line after Obama was elected:

“I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, if I help he is going to help me.”

This exchange should be even more famous:

KEN ROGULSKI: Why are you here?

WOMAN: To get some money.

ROGULSKI: What kind of money?

WOMAN: Obama money.

ROGULSKI: Where’s it coming from?

WOMAN: Obama.

ROGULSKI: And where did Obama get it?

WOMAN: I don’t know. His stash. I don’t know. I don’t know where he got it from but he’s giving it to us, to help us. We love him. That’s why we voted for him. Obama! Obama!

Another line of dialogue from the movie Glory comes to mind, with Sgt. Major John Rawlins telling an embittered and defeatist Private Tripp:

“And dying’s what these white boys been doin’ for goin’ on three years now.

Dyin’ by the thousands.  Dyin’ for you, fool!

I know, ’cause l dug the graves.

And all the time I’m diggin’, I’m asking myself, “When?”  When, O Lord, is it gonna be our time?”

Time’s comin’ when we’re gonna have to ante up.  Ante up and kick in like men.  Like men!

You watch who you call a nigger.  If there’s any niggers around here, it’s you.”

And in the film Pvt. Tripp DID “ante up.”

That’s what the Party of Lincoln wanted for black people going on 150 years ago; and it’s what we want for black people today.  Now, as back then, we want black Americans to be able to ante up like men and take responsibility for their own lives rather than leashing themselves to the welfare lifestyle and race-based preferences.  And live in the pride, dignity and freedom that such self-responsibility engenders.

Blacks were slaves to the Democrats into the 1860s.  And then beginning in the 1960s they started becoming slaves to the Democrats again.  Today the Democrat Party owns their vote, even though the Democrat Party is the party of the four deadly S’s: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.  Meanwhile, in the words of wised-up former leftist radical David Horowitz, “black Americans are the human shields of the Democrat Party.”

And they were far more noble in the 1860s, because unlike today, they didn’t sell themselves into slavery for welfare checks, “community reinvestment” loans, affirmative action quotas, and all the other programs that so corrode the black community today.

That’s the gist that emerges from my reading of Anne Wortham’s incredibly powerful article, “No He Can’t.”  She ends her article saying:

You now have someone who has picked up the baton of Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society. But you have also foolishly traded your freedom and mine – what little there is left – for the chance to feel good. There is nothing in me that can share your happy obliviousness.

The very worst of shackles are the kind you put on yourself.

And worst of all, blacks have been co-opted into participating in their own genocide.  While blacks only account for less than 14% of the population, 36% of all abortions in the United States kill black babies.  Half of all black pregnancies end in abortion.  And black babies are five times more likely to be killed in the womb than white babies.  The liberal and Democrat-supported Planned Parenthood was founded by a racist eugenicist who shared the same views as liberal Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg:

“Frankly I had thought that at that time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.” — 7/2/09 Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

And we find that the targeted killing of black babies is still very much at the heart of the liberal and Democrat pro-abortion agenda today.

Alveda C. King writes of this Democrat Party-supported holocaust:

[Martin Luther King, Jr.] once said, “The Negro cannot win as long as he is willing to sacrifice the lives of his children for comfort and safety.” How can the “Dream” survive if we murder the children? Every aborted baby is like a slave in the womb of his or her mother. The mother decides his or her fate.

When will blacks turn away from the Democrat Party and say, “Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!”?  (as spoken by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., registered Republican).

Harry Reid’s comments are excused because Harry Reid is a Democrat – and I suppose that racism is simply to be expected of these people.

I leave you not with Harry Reid’s racism, but with the transparent racism of the previous Democrat president – a man who was actually called “the first black president” – Bill Clinton.

Bill Clinton told Ted Kennedy that Obama ‘would be getting us coffee’ a few years ago: ‘Game Change’

Bill Clinton helped sink his wife’s chances for an endorsement from Ted Kennedy by belittling Barack Obama as nothing but a race-based candidate.

“A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee,” the former president told the liberal lion from Massachusetts, according to the gossipy new campaign book, “Game Change.”

The book says Kennedy was deeply offended and recounted the conversation to friends with fury.

After Kennedy sided with Obama, Clinton reportedly griped, “the only reason you are endorsing him is because he’s black. Let’s just be clear.”

The revelations in “Game Change” are guaranteed to reopen the 2008 Clinton racial wounds that had been scabbing over amid his post-election public silence and his wife’s high marks as Secretary of State.

Laden with potent pass-the-torch symbolism, the January 2008 endorsement of Obama by Kennedy and his niece, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg was a pivotal campaign moment that allowed the Democratic establishment to abandon the Clintons.

Bill Clinton wasn’t the only one to bungle handling the Kennedys –  the book says Hillary Clinton managed to alienate Caroline by fobbing off a key request on staff instead of calling personally.

When a group of prominent New Yorkers headed to Iowa to campaign for Hillary Clinton, Caroline “dreaded” getting a call to join them because she “would have found it impossible to refuse,” the book says.

When Hillary Clinton’s staffer called, someone “who sounded awfully like” Caroline said she wasn’t home.

Bill Clinton, whose stock with black voters was so high he used to be referred to as “America‘s First Black President,” severely damaged his rep in his overheated drive to help elect his wife.

The Democrat Party stands nakedly revealed.

Martin Luther King famously said:

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

Well, at least Harry Reid grants that wish to light-skinned African Americans who don’t have a Negro dialect; Bill Clinton even wants that group of blacks relegated to serving coffee.

Frankly, while Harry Reid owes black people more than just an apology, he owes white people more than just an apology, too.  Why?  Because he assumed that all the other white people thought in the same racist terms that he did.

I suppose it’s possible that whites were dumb enough to think that way last year.  But they sure aren’t thinking that way now.

I end with what liberals need to hear:

Dear Liberals,

Please be advised that your Race Card account has been closed.  This decision was based on your account history of excessive over-limit spending.  Please destroy your card immediately as it will no longer be honored.

Sincerely,
