Paul Ryan: ‘Our Rights Come From Nature And From God.’ Barack Obama: ‘Our Rights Come From Government And To Hell With God.’

Paul Ryan’s first address as candidate for Vice President:

Ryan’s Address: ‘Our Rights Come from Nature and God, Not Government’
9:46 AM, Aug 11, 2012 • By DANIEL HALPER

Here’s the prepared text of Paul Ryan’s address in Norfolk, Virginia:

Thank you Governor Romney, Ann. I am deeply honored and excited to join you as your running mate.

Mitt Romney is a leader with the skills, the background and the character that our country needs at a crucial time in its history. Following four years of failed leadership, the hopes of our country, which have inspired the world, are growing dim; and they need someone to revive them. Governor Romney is the man for this moment; and he and I share one commitment: we will restore the dreams and greatness of this country.

I want you to meet my family. My wife Janna, our daughter Liza, and our sons, Charlie and Sam.

I am surrounded by the people I love, and I have been asked by Governor Romney to serve the country I love.

Janesville, Wisconsin is where I was born and raised, and I never really left it. It’s our home now.

For the last 14 years, I have proudly represented Wisconsin in Congress. There, I have focused on solving the problems that confront our country, and turning ideas into action; and action into solutions.

I am committed, in heart and mind, to putting that experience to work in a Romney Administration. This is a crucial moment in the life of our nation; and it is absolutely vital that we select the right man to lead America back to prosperity and greatness.

That man is standing next to me. His name is Mitt Romney. And he will be the next president of the United States.

My dad died when I was young. He was a good and decent man. I still remember a couple of things he would say that have really stuck with me. “Son you are either part of the problem or part of the solution.”

Regrettably, President Obama has become part of the problem,…and Mitt Romney is the solution.

The other thing my dad would say is that every generation of Americans leaves their children better off. That’s the American legacy.

Sadly, for the first time in our history, we are on a path which will undo that legacy. That is why we need new leadership to become part of the solution – new leadership to restore prosperity, economic growth, and jobs.

It is our duty to save the American Dream for our children, and theirs.

And I believe there is no person in America who is better prepared – because of his experience; because of the principles he holds; and because of his achievements and excellence in so many different arenas – to lead America at this point in its history.

Let me say a word about the man Mitt Romney will replace. No one disputes President Obama inherited a difficult situation. And, in his first 2 years, with his party in complete control of Washington, he passed nearly every item on his agenda. But that didn’t make things better.

In fact, we find ourselves in a nation facing debt, doubt and despair.

  • This is the worst economic recovery in 70 years. Unemployment has been above 8 percent for more than three years, the longest run since the Great Depression. Families are hurting.
  • We have the largest deficits and the biggest federal government since WWII.
  • Nearly 1 out of 6 Americans are in poverty–the worst rate in a generation. Moms and dads are struggling to make ends meet.
  • Household incomes have dropped by more than $4,000 over the past four years.

Whatever the explanations, whatever the excuses, this is a record of failure.

President Obama, and too many like him in Washington, have refused to make difficult decisions because they are more worried about their next election than they are about the next generation. We might have been able to get away with that before, but not now. We’re in a different, and dangerous, moment. We’re running out of time — and we can’t afford 4 more years of this.

Politicians from both parties have made empty promises which will soon become broken promises–with painful consequences–if we fail to act now.

I represent a part of America that includes inner cities, rural areas, suburbs and factory towns. Over the years I have seen and heard from a lot from families, from those running small businesses, and from people who are in need. But what I have heard lately troubles me the most. There is something different in their voice and in their words. What I hear from them are diminished dreams, lowered expectations, uncertain futures.

I hear some people say that this is just “the new normal.” High unemployment, declining incomes and crushing debt is not a new normal. It’s the result of misguided policies. And next January, our economy will begin a comeback with the Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class that will lead to more jobs and more take home pay for working Americans.

America is on the wrong track; but Mitt Romney and I will take the right steps, in the right time, to get us back on the right track!

I believe my record of getting things done in Congress will be a very helpful complement to Governor Romney’s executive and private sector success outside Washington. I have worked closely with Republicans as well as Democrats to advance an agenda of economic growth, fiscal discipline, and job creation.

I’m proud to stand with a man who understands what it takes to foster job creation in our economy, someone who knows from experience, that if you have a small business—you did build that.

At Bain Capital, he launched new businesses and he turned around failing ones – companies like Staples, Bright Horizons and Sports Authority, just to name a few. Mitt Romney created jobs and showed he knows how a free economy works.

At the Olympics, he took a failing enterprise and made it the pride of our entire nation.

As governor of Massachusetts, he worked with Democrats and Republicans to balance budgets with no tax increases, lower unemployment, increase income and improve people’s lives.

In all of these things, Mitt Romney has shown himself to be a man of achievement, excellence and integrity.

Janna and I tell Liza, Charlie and Sam that America is a place where, if you work hard and play by the rules, you can get ahead.

We Americans look at one another’s success with pride, not resentment, because we know, as more Americans work hard, take risks, and succeed, more people will prosper, our communities will benefit, and individual lives will be improved and uplifted.

But America is more than just a place…it’s an idea. It’s the only country founded on an idea. Our rights come from nature and God, not government. We promise equal opportunity, not equal outcomes.

This idea is founded on the principles of liberty, freedom, free enterprise, self-determination and government by consent of the governed.

This idea is under assault. So, we have a critical decision to make as a nation.

We are on an unsustainable path that is robbing America of our freedom and security. It doesn’t have to be this way.

The commitment Mitt Romney and I make to you is this:

We won’t duck the tough issues…we will lead!

We won’t blame others…we will take responsibility!

We won’t replace our founding principles…we will reapply them!

We will honor you, our fellow citizens, by giving you the right and opportunity to make the choice:

  • What kind of country do we want to have?
  • What kind of people do we want to be?

We can turn this thing around. Real solutions can be delivered. But, it will take leadership. And the courage to tell you the truth.

Mitt Romney is this kind of leader. I’m excited for what lies ahead and I’m thrilled to be a part of America’s Comeback Team. And together, we will unite America and get this done.

Thank you.

The Obama Democrat Party is a party that is recklessly irresponsible.  It has NEVER come up with a plan to reform the entitlement programs that have now created an unfunded fiscal gap of $222 TRILLION.  And it is as of Sunday 1,200 days since Democrats have even TRIED to pass a budget.

If you don’t like Paul Ryan, one simple truth remains: Ryan’s plan is at least 222 trillion times better than anything the Democrats have on the table.  Unless you like eating national bankruptcy.

Barack Obama is the president of 54.5 million abortions.  Barack Obama is the president of homosexuality.  Barack Obama is the president of God damn America.  And recognize as you look at historic droughts and never-before seen food prices and shocking increases in the price of your gasoline and other essentials, recognize that there is a cost of doing business in God damn America.

One Possible Republican Response To The Incredible Cynicism Of Obama’s Jobs Speech

September 8, 2011

Many recognize that Obama’s jobs speech tonight is little more than the lowest form of cynicism.

As low as Obama is in the polls, Congress is even lower.  So what does Obama do?  Call a joint session of Congress so he can rhetorically position himself (and run against) Congress.

And this plan that Obama announced before he even actually had any plan – the one that the White House was “scrambling” to put together – the one that was going to be $300 billion and then $400 billion and now possibly even $450 billion: what is it but the most cynical attempt to create a scenario in which he can claim that he had “the solution” if but Republicans hadn’t put their partisan political interests ahead of the nation and passed it?

It is common knowledge that there is no possible WAY IN HELL that Obama’s jobs plan will actually be implemented.  Remember that Democrats – when they controlled the House as well as the Senate and the White House – couldn’t pass a tax hike in December 2010.  The fact of the matter is that this has nothing to do with substance – with actually helping so much as one person actually get a job – and everything to do with the lowest and most cynical sort of political rhetoric.

Well, here’s how Republicans COULD respond to Obama’s plan: with equal cynicism.

What if the Republican leadership issues Obama and the Democrat Party the following challenge: “Okay.  We’ll agree to pass your plan.  And all we ask for in return is a date CERTAIN by which YOU, Mr. President, YOU, Mr. Vice President, and EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT in Congress who votes for this package will resign from office in abject disgrace if it fails to turn the economy around – as it WILL fail just like all of your other failed Keynesian crap has failed?!?!?

When will you resign?  The last time you had a massive failed stimulus, you promised that you could create millions of jobs and bring the unemployment rate down below 6.7% by now if we passed your $862 billion stimulus?

What specific performance measures will you guarantee and by which date will every single Democrat leave office if you fail like you have already repeatedly failed???

Obama Job Speech Fiasco AGAIN Makes POTUS Look Petty, Weak And Just Plain Small

September 1, 2011

This has actually degenerated to a level that is simply sad.

It’s hard to even put into a sentence: To say you’ve got a plan when you don’t have a plan, and then go on a fancy vacation, and then come back and have to “scramble” to come up with a plan that you frankly should have had months if not years ago, and then just show the world how petty you are by demanding that Congress call a special joint session the night of a scheduled GOP presidential debate, well, it’s pathetic.

The pathetic president.

Maybe Obama shouldn’t have gone on that fancy vacation, after all.

Obama’s narcissistic arrogance is simply stunning.  His vacation was important, but Congress’ schedule is irrelevant.  His vacation is essential to the well-being of the nation, but the Republican Party using the democratic process of debate to select their nominee to contend for Obama’s job is trivial.

Obama constantly calls upon Congress to rise above petty partisan politics, but again and again this guy has taken some of the cheapest shots at all.  Going on a vacation and then coming back and saying the ONLY night Obama can give his speech just “happens” to coincide with the exact same date and the even the exact same TIME-SLOT of a GOP presidential debate that had been hard-scheduled for MONTHS is beneath even petty partisan politics.

Even very career and very partisan Democrats acknowledge that Obama was “out of bounds” in his attempt at this petty partisan politcal pissing contest:

Democratic strategist James Carville on Thursday called the White House “out of bounds” for requesting that the president address Congress during the same night as next week’s Republican presidential debate.

“I do think this is a really big debate and I think the White House was out of bounds…in trying to schedule a speech during a debate,” Carville said on “Good Morning America”.

There is absolutely no question whatsoever that Obama has every intention of using his “jobs speech” as a partisan political stunt.

Fortunately, Speaker of the House John Boehner wasn’t in the mood to tolerate a self-appeasing posturing poser:

Obama bows to Boehner; jobs speech will be Sept. 8
By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has acceded to House Speaker John Boehner’s wishes to deliver an address on jobs and the economy to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 8. The president had requested Sept. 7 for the long-anticipated speech.

In agreeing to Boehner’s schedule, Obama’s address will compete with the opening game of the National Football League season — a conflict the White House wanted to avoid.

But the change now will allow a planned Sept. 7 Republican presidential debate to proceed without Obama upstaging it.

That’s right.  BOWS again.

Obama has a rather pathetic personal history with bowing down.

Atlas Shrugged has a magnificent pictorial presentation of who Obama bows down to (America’s enemies) and who he treats like dirt (America’s friends).  At least this time Obama bowed down before an actual American.

Speaker John Boehner was incredibly solicitous to Obama:

“It is my recommendation that your address be held on the following evening, when we can ensure there will be no parliamentary or logistical impediments that might detract from your remarks,” Boehner, the speaker of the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, said in a letter to the president.

“I respectfully invite you to address a Joint Session of Congress on Thursday, September 8, 2011 in the House Chamber, at a time that works best for your schedule,” he said.

But Obama – who saw this as a chance to upstage his rivals in a petty way while at the same time calling on politicians to “rise above” the very same sort of thing he was himself doing, just got owned.

It is truly sad for America that such a weak and petty man managed to rise to our presidency.

Apparently Obama Heard ‘Plan’ And Thought They Were Talking About A ‘Tan’ And Decided He Didn’t Need One

August 31, 2011

MONTHS later, the question remains the same: “WHERE’S YOUR DAMN PLAN, OBAMA?”

Let me go back and refresh the record:

Obama has set forth no plan to deal with anything whatsoever regarding the budget/debt ceiling crisis:

SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE JOHN BOEHNER (R-OH): Where’s the president’s plan? When is he going to lay his cards on the table?

Senator Marco Rubio understood this when he utterly destroyed Bob Schieffer on CBS’ “Face The Nation” program after Schieffer – in his masquerade as a “neutral reporter” cited the Obama talking point as the “objective” view:

OK, so where’s the plan? Where’s the president’s plan? I’ve never seen a piece of paper with the president’s name on it that’s his plan to solve this crisis. I’ve seen press conferences. I’ve seen lectures that he’s given to the Congress. I’ve seen these press avails where the camera comes in and takes a bunch of pictures. I haven’t seen a plan. Where is the president’s plan?

And President Obama’s failure to lead is undermining negotiations. From ABC’s “This Week”:

MS. AMANPOUR: You also heard what Jack Lew said if there was part of a big deal, it would involve entitlements –

SEN. KYL: But we have no idea what he’s talking about. That’s the problem. Republicans are not willing to make a deal based upon some vague commitment that, sometime in the future, the president might be willing to look at something that he won’t identify.

The following exhange in the White House Press Corps is simply utterly astounding:

ED HENRY, FOX NEWS CHIEF WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT: …If you basically have this Boehner plan that you say can’t get through the Senate and you’ve got a Reid plan that the Republicans don’t think you can get through the Senate or the House and you’re saying we want a compromise, what was the point of giving a prime-time address to the nation without an Obama plan and say neither of these other plans can work? Where’s his plan?

(CROSSTALK)

JAY CARNEY, WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY: I understand the idea that there is not an Obama plan is like point…

HENRY: But there’s not one on paper.

CARNEY: …point No. 1 on the talking points issued by the Republican Party. I get it.

(CROSSTALK)

HENRY: No, no, no. That’s not a talking point. Show us the plan. It’s not a talking point. That’s unfair. Where’s the plan?

CROSSTALK)

CARNEY: First of all, the president put forward in detail his principles at George Washington University…

(CROSSTALK)

HENRY: Principles. Right. That’s not a plan.

CARNEY: …quite a lot of detail. The president stood before you, I can’t remember if you were here Friday night, some of you weren’t because you cut out early, but a lot of you were (GROANS FROM THE PRESS) and he put forward in detail with numbers what he’s willing to do. He then referred from the podium to the fact that White House officials would be briefing in detail.

It continued on with other reporters and it didn’t get any better for Carney or for Obama:

Today, under intense pressure to produce the President’s debt limit plan, the White House asked, “Do you need something printed for you?” House Republicans have put forth multiple plans (posted online and yes, available in print) to avoid default and get our fiscal house in order by cutting spending and implementing serious budget reforms.

We are seven days out from August 2nd and the Administration has yet to release a plan.

NOTE:

Chuck Todd: Why not release the last offer that Boehner made you? You said if you don’t want to release your own plan, release that one. If that’s the last deal he made and you are willing to go back with a few minor tweaks release it.

Jay Carney: We have shown a lot of leg on what we were proposing.

Chuck Todd: Where?

Jay Carney: From the podium, right here.

(Laughter)

Todd: Why not just release that plan?

Carney: You need something printed for you? You can’t write it down? There is ample detail.

Jake Tapper: That’s not a plan. It was details of a plan, but it wasn’t a plan in the same way we are getting a plan on the House side or on the Senate side.

Chuck Todd: We don’t know what the Medicare thing is, we don’t know what the Social Security part of this is …
….

Chuck Todd: Why not put it out there? You guys went before the American people last night and said call your Members of Congress we want a compromise. Well you had a plan you were making the case for, that sounded like the compromise. Release it to the public.

Watch the Full Exchange Here

All Obama has done is give demagogic speeches and press conferences. YOU CAN’T RUN THE COUNTRY ON A DAMN SPEECH. AND YOU CERTAINLY CAN’T RUN IT FROM THE PODIUM OF A PRESS SECRETARY DURING A DAMN PRESS CONFERENCE!!! SOMEBODY HAS TO ACTUALLY LEAD OR THIS COUNTRY IS DOOMED!!!

Republicans have been demanding Obama release a plan since forever ago.

It is now 855 days since Democrats bothered to pass any kind of a budget.  At all.

Versus Republicans, who have passed the Ryan budget plan and Cut, Cap and Balance.

Obama submitted a budget in May that was frankly so asinine that it was rejected 97-0 IN THE DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED SENATE.

The Christian Post put it this way:

Before his vacation at Martha’s Vineyard this month, Obama was on a three-state bus tour through rural parts of the Midwest. On that tour, he said he would present a plan to create jobs sometime in September.

“If you have a jobs plan, put it out,” former Democratic Tennessee congressman Harold Ford Jr., said on an Aug. 21 showing of NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Obama, apparently, did not have a completed plan at the time, but simply talked of having a jobs proposal in place soon. Reports are that White House administration officials are currently “scrambling” to come up with a plan by next week, according to The Washington Post.

That Washington Post article, dated August 29, begins:

“The White House scrambled Monday to finalize a new jobs initiative as President Obama nominated the last member of the economic team that will be charged with carrying it out.”

So, nope, it’s nearly three years into the Obama presidency, and they are still desperately pumping sunshine trying to “scramble” together some kind of a plan.

And in all likelihood, it won’t be a plan that has any chance of passing the bipartisan Congress, but rather a plan to further demagogue Republicans, as Obama postures by saying, “I had a plan that would have solved everything, but those terrorist Republicans held America hostage.”  The American people need jobs, but Obama needs to have some way to blame Republicans for his three years of failed economic policies.  And Obama’s job is more important than the tens of millions of Americans lack of jobs.

The Republicans ought to respond to this frankly ridiculous attack by saying, “If we had passed Obama’s plan, space aliens would have invaded and enslaved the human race.  And we’ve got every bit as much evidence to back up our hypothetical counterfactual scenario as Obama has for his.”  The sad fact of the matter is that Republicans can govern, but they can’t attack well; and Democrats can’t govern at all, but boy they sure can demagogue.

Who Spent More? Average Bush Vs. Average Obama Spending Per Day Proves Obama Most Reckless And Irresponsible EVER

July 28, 2011

From NPR via the Weekly Standard:

In his State of the Union address tonight, President Obama will reportedly issue a call for “responsible” efforts to reduce deficits (while simultaneously calling for new federal spending). In light of the President’s expected rhetorical nod to fiscal responsibility, it’s worth keeping in mind his record on deficits to date. When President Obama took office two years ago, the national debt stood at $10.626 trillion. It now stands at $14.071 trillion — a staggering increase of $3.445 trillion in just 735 days (about $5 billion a day).

To put that into perspective, when President George W. Bush took office, our national debt was $5.768 trillion. By the time Bush left office, it had nearly doubled, to $10.626 trillion. So Bush’s record on deficit spending was not good at all: During his presidency, the national debt rose by an average of $607 billion a year. How does that compare to Obama? During Obama’s presidency to date, the national debt has risen by an average of $1.723 trillion a year — or by a jaw-dropping $1.116 trillion more, per year, than it rose even under Bush.

How much in deficit spending did Bush spend on average per day during his presidency?  It’s pretty easy to figure out: $607 billion/365 days = $1.66 billion per day.  That’s a lot of spending, Georgie.  Shame on you!

But compared to Obama’s $5 BILLION of deficit spending per day?  Obama spent well over three times more per day every single day than did Bush.

If you want to argue that Bush looks bad, fine.  Bush looks bad.  But Obama looks positively vile.

The article proceeds to present another way to calculate deficit spending by going a little deeper into the weeds:

In fairness, however, Obama can’t rightly be held accountable for the 2009 budget, which he didn’t sign (although he did sign a $410 billion pork-laden omnibus spending bill for that year, which is nevertheless tallied in Bush’s column). Rather, Obama’s record to date should really be based on actual and projected spending in fiscal years 2010 and 2011 (plus the $265 billion portion of the economic “stimulus” package, which he initiated and signed, that was spent in 2009 (Table S-10), while Bush’s should be based on 2002-09 (with the exception of that same $265 billion, which was in no way part of the 2009 budgetary process).

How do Bush and Obama compare on closer inspection? Just about like they do on an initial glance. According to the White House’s Office of Management and Budget, during his eight fiscal years, Bush ran up a total of $3.283 trillion in deficit spending (p. 22). In his first two fiscal years, Obama will run up a total of $2.826 trillion in deficit spending ($1.294 trillion in 2010, an estimated $1.267 trillion in 2011 (p. 23), and the $265 billion in “stimulus” money that was spent in 2009). Thus, Bush ran up an average of $410 billion in deficit spending per year, while Obama is running up an average of $1.413 trillion in deficit spending per year — or $1.003 trillion a year more than Bush.

Obama, of course, has said the economy made him do it. But the average inflation-adjusted deficits through Obama’s first two fiscal years will be more than ten times higher than the average inflation-adjusted deficit during the Great Depression. Even as a percentage of the gross domestic product, the average deficits in Obama’s first two fiscal years will more than three times higher the average deficit during the Great Depression. The fact that Obama’s deficits have, by any standard, more than tripled those of the Great Depression, cannot convincingly be blamed on the current recession.

And none of this even takes into account Obamacare, which the Congressional Budget Office says would increase spending by more than $2 trillion in its real first decade (2014 to 2023) — and which, even under very rosy projections, the CBO says would increase the national debt by $341 billion by the end of 2019.

It’s not often that one gets to hear a call for “responsible” fiscal stewardship from someone whose deficit spending is outpacing President Bush’s by more than $1 trillion a year — yet that’s apparently what we’ll get to hear tonight. But President Obama’s actions tell another, far clearer, story about his commitment to deficit reduction.

So let’s recalculate based on the deeper analysis.  Bush’s deficit spending was $410 billion a year divided by 365 days, which equals $1.1 billion per day.  Versus Obama’s deficit spending, which has been $1,413 billion a year divided by 365, which equals $3.87 billion per day.  That is 3.5 times more spending every single day from Obama.

Now, particularly dumbass liberals often try to argue that George Bush somehow made his war spending “off budget.”  That is such a pile of crap it is unreal.  Who controls the spending?  CONGRESS DOES.  Congress ALWAYS had the power to cut off funding for the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars any time it wanted.  And the simple fact of the matter is that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi – who controlled the Senate and House respectively – agreed on how to handle the funding of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.  It was DEMOCRATS who did not want to be in the position of having to either support war funding and enrage their base or vote against it and enrage the American people.  So it was NOT George Bush who took war funding “off budget,” it was Democrats who were afraid to be held accountable.  And every penny that Bush spent on the war and on everything else ultimately showed up in his spending and in his debt.

The problem is that there are truly stupid people who have no clue how government works and live in a world of lies.

The federal government is twice as large as it was ten years ago.  And Bush is partly responsible for this, no question about it.  But it is 30% larger than it was just two years ago, and therefore Obama’s share of this increase is huge in relation to Bush’s.

We can’t go on like this.  We will soon be going the way of the Dodo bird.

Democrats offered no plans – NONE.  ZERO. – to deal with the fact that Medicare will be bankrupt and collapse in 2016.  That is less than five years away.  But it’s actually much worse than that.  For example, as recently as December 2010, the estimate was that it would go bankrupt “as early as 2017,” according to CBS reporting.  Which is to say that it is going broke a lot faster than the experts have been anticipating; and it easily could go broke by 2014 instead of 2016.

And Obama has no plan.  He has completely abdicated any leadership whatsoever.  He offered a budget that was so ridiculous (it would have added $12 trillion to the debt) that not even ONE DEMOCRATS would vote for it.  It failed 97-0 in the Democrat-controlled SenateJust how massive a failure is Obama?  And since then he has offered NOTHING but fearmongering and demonization.

We desperately need leadership.  We desperately need a plan.  And Obama – who is supposed to be seeking to rally the nation behind a common cause – is instead merely offering demagogic partisan speeches.  When he is not spending American into bankruptcy and financial implosion.

Update: Before this article was published, I came across this angle on the same issue:

Obama: More than Twice the Debt in Half the Time as Bush
by House Committee on Ways and Means

A recent “infographic” released by the White House tries to assign the blame for our massive debt and deficits to former President Bush and Republican Congresses.  However, the graphic conveniently omits President Obama’s record and his plans for the fiscal future of our country.  If the President had his way and his Fiscal Year 2012 budget proposal was enacted, here is what a comparison of the increase in public debt would look like:

As the graph above shows, the debt held by the public increased $2.4 trillion between 2000 and 2008, from $3.4 trillion to $5.8 trillion.  Under President Obama’s budget proposal, the debt held by the public is projected to increase $6.1 trillion between 2008 and 2012, from $5.8 trillion to $11.9 trillion.

That means that President Obama will more than double the debt accumulated under President Bush in half the time.  Twice the debt in half the time: courtesy of the Obama Administration.

Pretty much no matter how you slice it, Obama is a big government socialist out to bankrupt America faster than anyone who ever came before him.

Update: here’s another, more recent article to put into perspective just how totally awful this deceitful hypocrite Obama has been for America.  “God damn America” will not remain solvent if he gets another four years.

Update, May 24, 2o12: here’s still another article with recent developments, given that Obama has actuallyhad the chutzpah to make spending an issue.

The Terrifying Truth: As America Nears Brink Of Disaster, Obama Demonstrates That He Has No Leadership Ability Whatsoever

July 27, 2011

What is the situation facing America?  Here’s what the White House Communications Director said on July 26:

WH Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer: “We are seven days away from an unprecedented financial event in this country’s history. One that could potentially put us towards a depression because the House Republicans, led by Speaker Boehner, are unwilling to compromise one inch.”

Is it that bad, or is this a rare degree of fearmongering and demagoguing?  And if it IS that bad, shouldn’t Barack Obama have SOME KIND OF DAMN PLAN OF HIS OWN TO PROVIDE ANY KIND OF GUIDANCE OR LEADERSHIP AT ALL?!?!?

The problem is hardly Republicans.  This country has had Republicans ever since Abraham Lincoln led this nation through the Civil War.  If you actually want to look at Republicans, THEY’RE THE ONLY ONES WHO’VE HAD ANY ACTUAL PLANS AT ALL; THEY’RE THE ONLY ONES WHO ACTUALLY VOTED ON AND PASSED A PLAN THAT WOULD ACTUALLY SAVE US FROM A CREDIT RATING DOWNGRADE.  The problem is that we have an abject failure of a president who is clearly way in over his head.

And Obama is refusing to lead, but instead cynically waiting for the Republicans to do so (because SOMEBODY has got to!) and then rallying his special interests to demonize the Republicans for offering specific proposals.  He himself has offered NOTHING.

Obama has no plan whatsoever.  He has come out with absolutely nothing specific whatsoever that can serve as any kind of a template.  He has completely abdicated any leadership whatsoever.  Several months ago offered a laughable budget that was so ridiculous (it would have added $12 trillion to the debt) that not even ONE DEMOCRATS would vote for it.  It failed 97-0 in the Democrat-controlled SenateJust how massive a failure is Obama?  And since then he has offered NOTHING but fearmongering and demonization.

Well over a year ago I wrote regarding another issue:

But Barack Obama and the Democrats are tyrants, not leaders.  They want to rule, not govern.  They want to impose a system that will result in a European socialist-style government until our country implodes from massive and unsustainable deficits and debts…. Nothing else will get done, and this country will drift

Earlier this year there was a story in which Hillary Clinton expressed her disgust of Obama’s complete failure of leadership.  There was this great quote [that article appears here]:

“Obviously, she’s not happy with dealing with a president who can’t decide if today is Tuesday or Wednesday, who can’t make his mind up,” a Clinton insider told The Daily. “She’s exhausted, tired.”

Even HILLARY CLINTON said that Obama is a wretched and utterly failed leader who can’t make up his mind.

And I said in that article:

I remember several years ago watching a fascination PBS program on presidential leadership.  The documentary’s poster-boy for pathetic presidential leadership was Jimmy Carter.  Obviously the man was intelligent, but the experts on leadership said “intelligence” does not a leader make.  Jimmy Carter was particularly faulted for not empowering his subordinates with enough power to do their jobs; he micromanaged and undermined through a tiny cadre of close advisors.  And as a result the nation drifted like a ship without a rudder.  That is clearly what is being described by Hillary Clinton now.

Obama clearly has an “inner circle” problem.  Even DEMOCRATS acknowledge it.

The PBS program did not make mention of the fact that Jimmy Carter was (and clearly still is) a fool with a totally bogus worldview.  A false worldview makes it impossible to act intelligently because, no matter how intelligent one is, one cannot possibly comprehend reality.  And I would submit that Both Carter and Obama have tragically and truly flawed views of the world.  Both of these men view the world through a set of theories that are simply totally false.  And from their poor foundations, all of their intelligence goes into the fruitless process of endlessly rationalizing and justifying their erroneous worldview.

And I was so right about this fraud.

This is beyond frightening.  There was NEVER anything about Obama’s story that indicated that the man had ever developed any kind of actual leadership ability whatsoever.  He was a community organizer who became a state senator who voted “present” more than he voted aye or nay.  He served in the United States Senate for 142 days before breaking his promise to serve his first Senate term.  And as president he has never done anything more than campaign.  Even during this debt ceiling fiasco, Obama was gone an average of every three days doing another damned fundraiser.

And now we are in a situation in which we desperately need a leader and we do not have one.

Why Won’t Obama Invite The Doctors Who Will Resign If His Health Agenda Passes?

October 12, 2009

Michelle Malkin had the best title for the propaganda event that saw white-coated doctors milling around on the White House lawn: “Spin Doctors for Obamacare.”  She said:

Creators Syndicate – Lights, camera, agitprop! The curtains opened on yet another artfully staged performance of Obamacare Theater this week. One hundred and fifty doctors took their places on the plush lawn outside the West Wing — many acting like “Twilight” groupies with cameras instead of credible medical professionals. The president approved the scenery: “I am thrilled to have all of you here today, and you look very spiffy in your coats.”

White House wardrobe assistants guaranteed the “spiffy.” As the New York Post’s Charles Hurt reported, the physicians “were told to bring their white lab coats to make sure that TV cameras captured the image.”  President Obama’s aides hastily handed out costumes to those who came in suits or dresses before the doc-and-pony show began.

But while Halloween came early to the Potomac, these partisan single-payer activists in White House-supplied clothing aren’t fooling anyone.

Obama’s spin doctors belong to a group called Doctors for America (DFA), which reportedly supplied the white lab coats.  The White House event was organized in conjunction with DFA and Organizing for America, Obama’s campaign outfit.

OFA and DFA are behind a massive new Obamacare ad campaign, letter-writing campaign and doctor-recruitment campaign. The supposedly “grassroots” nonprofit DFA is a spin-off of Doctors for Obama, a 2008 campaign arm that aggressively pushed the Democrats’ government health care takeover. DFA claims to have thousands of members with a “variety of backgrounds.” But there’s little diversity in their views on socialized medicine (98 percent want a taxpayer-funded public insurance option) — or in their political contributions.

And she went on to document what a bunch of political hacks the “Doctors for Obama” and various “spin doctor” groups mentioned above had been for Obama and the Democrats.

Gateway Pundit revealed the typical Obama White House hypocrisy of this event:

What the media won’t tell you is that the doctors were former members of the “Doctors for Obama” organization.

150 doctors including supporters from Doctors for America, the former Doctors for Obama organization, assembled on the White House lawn today for a Astroturfed show with the president.

The operational word is “Astroturf.”  As angry as the Democrats have been about “Astroturfing,” they sure have done a lot of it.  We’ve had the children of high level Obama supporters planted to ask planted questions at Astroturf health care town halls to go with the busloads of union thugs being sent even across state lines to attend town halls.  We’ve had Astroturf former Obama delegates fraudulently pretending to be doctors at town hall events.  And now we have real, but still Astroturf doctors being brought in for Astroturf photo-ops – complete with Astroturf white coats.

The truly dishonest thing was when Barack Obama deceitfully misrepresented these doctors to claim that they somehow represented the medical mainstream.  Obama said:

“When you cut through all the noise and all the distractions that are out there, I think what’s most telling is that some of the people who are most supportive of reform are the very medical professionals who know the health-care system best,” the president said.

But when you actually realize what is happening, you find that this scripted – and even costumed – White House event is an all too typical example of the “noise” and “distractions” coming from the very guy who is complaining about the “noise and distractions.”

My question to Obama is, “WHAT ABOUT THESE FOLKS?

45% Of Doctors Would Consider Quitting If Congress Passes Health Care Overhaul

By TERRY JONES, INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY Posted 09/15/2009
Two of every three practicing physicians oppose the medical overhaul plan under consideration in Washington, and hundreds of thousands would think about shutting down their practices or retiring early if it were adopted, a new IBD/TIPP Poll has found.

The poll contradicts the claims of not only the White House, but also doctors’ own lobby — the powerful American Medical Association — both of which suggest the medical profession is behind the proposed overhaul.

It also calls into question whether an overhaul is even doable; 72% of the doctors polled disagree with the administration’s claim that the government can cover 47 million more people with better-quality care at lower cost.

The IBD/TIPP Poll was conducted by mail the past two weeks, with 1,376 practicing physicians chosen randomly throughout the country taking part. Responses are still coming in, and doctors’ positions on related topics — including the impact of an overhaul on senior care, medical school applications and drug development — will be covered later in this series.

Major findings included:

Two-thirds, or 65%, of doctors say they oppose the proposed government expansion plan. This contradicts the administration’s claims that doctors are part of an “unprecedented coalition” supporting a medical overhaul.

It also differs with findings of a poll released Monday by National Public Radio that suggests a “majority of physicians want public and private insurance options,” and clashes with media reports such as Tuesday’s front-page story in the Los Angeles Times with the headline “Doctors Go For Obama’s Reform.”

Nowhere in the Times story does it say doctors as a whole back the overhaul. It says only that the AMA — the “association representing the nation’s physicians” and what “many still regard as the country’s premier lobbying force” — is “lobbying and advertising to win public support for President Obama’s sweeping plan.”

The AMA, in fact, represents approximately 18% of physicians and has been hit with a number of defections by members opposed to the AMA’s support of Democrats’ proposed health care overhaul.

Four of nine doctors, or 45%, said they “would consider leaving their practice or taking an early retirement” if Congress passes the plan the Democratic majority and White House have in mind.

More than 800,000 doctors were practicing in 2006, the government says. Projecting the poll’s finding onto that population, 360,000 doctors would consider quitting.

More than seven in 10 doctors, or 71% — the most lopsided response in the poll — answered “no” when asked if they believed “the government can cover 47 million more people and that it will cost less money and the quality of care will be better.”

This response is consistent with critics who complain that the administration and congressional Democrats have yet to explain how, even with the current number of physicians and nurses, they can cover more people and lower the cost at the same time.

The only way, the critics contend, is by rationing care — giving it to some and denying it to others. That cuts against another claim by plan supporters — that care would be better.

IBD/TIPP’s finding that many doctors could leave the business suggests that such rationing could be more severe than even critics believe.  Rationing is one of the drawbacks associated with government plans in countries such as Canada and the U.K. Stories about growing waiting lists for badly needed care, horror stories of care gone wrong, babies born on sidewalks, and even people dying as a result of care delayed or denied are rife.

In this country, the number of doctors is already lagging population growth.

From 2003 to 2006, the number of active physicians in the U.S. grew by just 0.8% a year, adding a total of 25,700 doctors.

Recent population growth has been 1% a year. Patients, in short, are already being added faster than physicians, creating a medical bottleneck.

The great concern is that, with increased mandates, lower pay and less freedom to practice, doctors could abandon medicine in droves, as the IBD/TIPP Poll suggests. Under the proposed medical overhaul, an additional 47 million people would have to be cared for — an 18% increase in patient loads, without an equivalent increase in doctors. The actual effect could be somewhat less because a significant share of the uninsured already get care.

Even so, the government vows to cut hundreds of billions of dollars from health care spending to pay for reform, which would encourage a flight from the profession.

The U.S. today has just 2.4 physicians per 1,000 population — below the median of 3.1 for members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the official club of wealthy nations.

Adding millions of patients to physicians’ caseloads would threaten to overwhelm the system. Medical gatekeepers would have to deny care to large numbers of people. That means care would have to be rationed.

“It’s like giving everyone free bus passes, but there are only two buses,” Dr. Ted Epperly, president of the American Academy of Family Physicians, told the Associated Press. [Link added].

Hope for a surge in new doctors may be misplaced. A recent study from the Association of American Medical Colleges found steadily declining enrollment in medical schools since 1980.

The study found that, just with current patient demand, the U.S. will have 159,000 fewer doctors than it needs by 2025. Unless corrected, that would make some sort of medical rationing or long waiting lists almost mandatory.

[Snip]

Other states with government-run or mandated health insurance systems, including Maine, Tennessee and Hawaii, have been forced to cut back services and coverage.

This experience has been repeated in other countries where a form of nationalized care is common. In particular, many nationalized health systems seem to have trouble finding enough doctors to meet demand.

In Britain, a lack of practicing physicians means the country has had to import thousands of foreign doctors to care for patients in the National Health Service.

“A third of (British) primary care trusts are flying in (general practitioners) from as far away as Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Switzerland” because of a doctor shortage, a recent story in the British Daily Mail noted.

British doctors, demoralized by long hours and burdensome rules, simply refuse to see patients at nights and weekends.

Likewise, Canadian physicians who have to deal with the stringent rules and income limits imposed by that country’s national health plan have emigrated in droves to other countries, including the U.S.

ObamaCare is all about rationing.

Doctors will begin retiring in droves because government-funded healthcare already has them operating at a loss.  On average, Medicare only pays 93% of the COST of providing care.  Doctors and hospitals subsidize Medicare patients at a loss by counting on private insurance-covered patients to allow them to operate at an overall profit.  If you expand government-covered patients, and reduce the role of private insurance, medical practice will simply become unprofitable.  Hence the mass retirements as physicians stop swimming against the tide of government red-tape and low-balling and just quit.

Why doesn’t Obama invite these doctors to the White House.  They can even give them white coats when they get there, to look more “doctorly” like they did with the pro-ObamaCare doctors.

If Obama had the best interests for the nation in his heart, he would want to hear from these doctors.  Instead, he’s doing everything in his power to shut such professionals out of the debate while he tries to ram his ideological and partisan agenda through.

ObamaCare will cost this country hundreds of billions – and over time trillions – of dollars at a time when we can least afford it, even as its imposition results in thousands of doctors choosing to retire at a time when we can least afford it.
