The Last Days Generation Is Finally Here In The Millennials. Next Comes The Beast.

March 13, 2014

2 Timothy 3:1-5 warns:

1You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.  2For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.  3They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.  4They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.  5They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

And, oh, you betcha we’re THERE.

Do millennials love themselves?  How about the fact that 55% of these self-absorbed little narcissists have posted “selfies” of themselves online.  According to NBC:

It’s official: Millennials love taking selfies.

A recent Pew Research Center poll found that 55 percent of adults between the ages of 18 and 33 had posted a selfie to a social media site.

Compare that to Generation X (24 percent) and Baby Boomers (9 percent). This pretty much guarantees that millennials will become the most self-documented generation in history. But is that so terrible?

Allow me to answer: YES.  Oh HELL yes.  And the ‘Justin Bieber taking a selfie’ picture they post ought to be enough to prove it all by itself.  This is the most self-infatuated generation in the entire history of the human race, bar none.  The statistics don’t lie.

Let’s see.  St. Paul warned that this terminal generation just before the Antichrist “will love only themselves.”  He said “They will consider nothing sacred.”   He said “They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.”

Yep.  Check, check and check according to Pew:

No religion, no marriage, no politics, no country — no problem.

Millennials — those currently in their late teens to early 30s — tend to stray away from political and religious affiliations, and buck other traditional life milestones like marriage, according to a wide-ranging Pew Research study of the so-called “me” generation.

A full two thirds of respondents don’t claim to be “a religious person,” turning their backs on the deeply-rooted faith of their forefathers, but interestingly, most Millennials pray as often as their parents’ generation.

Only one in five millennials have tied the knot, the study found.

The Pew Research survey, which examined 18-33-year-olds in America beginning in 2006, found that millennials are by far the most independent generation, with 50% of the “selfie” generation identifying as such (only 39% of Gen Xers and 37% of Boomers consider themselves independent, the study shows).

You could sum UP 2 Timothy 3:1-5 as “the so-called ‘me’ generation,” or “the ‘selfie’ generation,” couldn’t you???

We have the yesterday – and I hope she just goes AWAY now – case of Rachel Canning, the 18-year-old girl who slammed the door shut screaming as she abandoned her parents and their values and then sued them because the narcissistic little self-absorbed whining parasite thought they owed her for the pleasure of putting up with her miserable little self for eighteen years:

A judge today blasted an 18-year-old girl suing her parents for support after she ran away claiming they were behind her bulimia and that her father showed her ‘inappropriate affection’

When Judge Peter Bogaard read an expletive-laden and vicious answerphone message left by Rachel Canning, from Lincoln Park, New Jersey, to her mother, Elizabeth, in which the girl said: ‘I wanna s*** all over your face’, he said: ‘Have you ever in your experience seen such gross disrespect for a parent? I don’t see it in my house.’

The judge, sitting at Morris County court added that Rachel had given her mom and dad, Sean: ‘The proverbial f you’. He also warned he must consider the ‘slippery slope’ where ‘we open the gates for a 12-year-old to sue for an Xbox, a 13-year-old to sue for an iPhone… what about a 15-year-old asking for a 60 inch TV?’

Rachel, who is suing her parents for  ‘abandoning’ her has made sensational claims that her mom calling her  ‘fat’ and ‘porky’ led to her suffering bulimia and that her former  police chief father dad used to get her drunk and kiss her  inappropriately.

In shocking legal documents submitted to the court, the honor-roll student said her parents’ behavior contributed to her developing an eating disorder at a young age and saw her weight plummet down to 92  pounds.

Rachel, who has two younger sisters  moved in with the parents’ of a friend and is now suing for child  support, medical bills, college expenses and legal fees.

She states that her parents have a combined yearly income of between  $250,000 and $300,000 and she is entitled to $654-a-week in child  support. Her parents have also refused to pay $6,000 owed in school fees for her Catholic High School.

Her parents claim their daughter ran off to stay with friends when she  turned 18 because she refused to abide by rules they had set down,  including to stop dating her boyfriend. But today the judge clearly took a dim view of the lawsuit. He said: ‘What  kind of parents would the Canning’s be if they didn’t try to set down  some strict rules?

Here’s the phone message the little darling left for her mother:

Phone message left for Liz Canning from Rachel at July 2, 2013 1:18pm, submitted to Morris County Court, which got the judge apparently so angry:

‘Hi mom just to let you know you’re a real f**king winner aren’t you you  think you’re so cool and you think you caught me throwing up in the  bathroom after eating an egg frittatta, yeah sorry that you have  problems now and you need to harp on mine because i didn’t and i  actually took a s*** which i really just wanna s*** all over your face  right now because it looks like that anyway, anyway i f***ing hate you  and um I’ve written you off so don’t talk to me, don’t do anything I’m  blocking you from just about everything, have a nice life, bye mom’

We find that this vicious little mean-spirited self-absorbed narcissistic bratty punk stole her parents’ credit card to buy clothes for herself, boasted to them about her drunken hangovers, got suspended from school, got thrown out of a prom for being intoxicated, refused to obey curfews and was pretty much just the poster child for everything St. Paul was talking about in one miserable specimen of end-times humanity.

The judge threw out her morally idiotic lawsuit and guess what?  Suddenly Rachel decided now that she wasn’t going to have any MONEY to move back in with her parents.  You know, the father who she said molested her and the mother she blamed for turning her into a bulimic vomiting machine.

It sounds to me like you earned every single one of your pukes yourself, you drunken waste.

But her coming back home is all the proof anybody ought to need about what a vile little liar this girl is for demonizing parents who in taking her back demonstrated a love FAR beyond anything anybody who is acting out of rational self-interest could ever understand.  Because any parent who WAS thinking out of rational self-interest would be saying, “Thank God the demonic little vermin princess is gone!”  And they would change the damn locks, install an expensive security system and get a great big dog so she could never come back in to wreck their lives with her disgusting behavior and her hateful lies ever again.

Let’s see what St. Paul predicted: “disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful,” check and check.  “They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control.”  Check, check, check and check some more.  “They will be cruel and hate what is good.”  Check and check and just keep checking.

Now, Pew says that these nasty little psychopaths aren’t political.  But that isn’t true.  It’s just that they care only about themselves and their degrading pleasures.  But überliberal Doyle McManus of the Los Angeles Times points out the following:

The millennials are a major reason President Obama won reelection in 2012; if nobody under 30 had voted that year, Mitt Romney would be in the White House today.

The independent Pew Research Center released a major report on the attitudes of the millennial generation last week, and here’s what it found:

The millennials are decidedly liberal, especially on social issues such as immigration and same-sex marriage. That helps explain why Obama won their votes by a 16-point margin in 2012.

Yeah, thanks a lot for that Obama thing, you demon-possessed little turds.  That alone is all we need to know to recognize that you are the terminal generation before Antichrist, and that it will be YOU who will soon fall on your knees to worship the worst monster who ever lived.

Now these miserable little rat-bastards have turned on Obama.  Do you know why?  Because they voted for Obama believing that his ObamaCare would force their PARENTS and people LIKE their parents to pay for all the garbage Obama promised them.  But when they found out that Obama actually expected THEM to pay for their own health care, well, that was just too much for these narcissistic “selfie” entitlement whores:

Young Americans are turning against Barack Obama and Obamacare, according to a new survey of millennials, people between the ages of 18 and 29 who are vital to the fortunes of the president and his signature health care law.

The most startling finding of Harvard University’s Institute of Politics: A majority of Americans under age 25–the youngest millennials–would favor throwing Obama out of office.

The survey, part of a unique 13-year study of the attitudes of young adults, finds that America’s rising generation is worried about its future, disillusioned with the U.S. political system, strongly opposed to the government’s domestic surveillance apparatus, and drifting away from both major parties. “Young Americans hold the president, Congress and the federal government in less esteem almost by the day, and the level of engagement they are having in politics are also on the decline,” reads the IOP’s analysis of its poll. “Millennials are losing touch with government and its programs because they believe government is losing touch with them.

The results blow a gaping hole in the belief among many Democrats that Obama’s two elections signaled a durable grip on the youth vote.

Indeed, millennials are not so hot on their president.

Obama’s approval rating among young Americans is just 41 percent, down 11 points from a year ago, and now tracking with all adults. While 55 percent said they voted for Obama in 2012, only 46 percent said they would do so again.

When asked if they would want to recall various elected officials, 45 percent of millennials said they would oust their member of Congress; 52 percent replied “all members of Congress” should go; and 47 percent said they would recall Obama. The recall-Obama figure was even higher among the youngest millennials, ages 18 to 24, at 52 percent.

While there is no provision for a public recall of U.S. presidents, the poll question revealed just how far Obama has fallen in the eyes of young Americans.

IOP director Trey Grayson called the results a “sea change” attributable to the generation’s outsized and unmet expectations for Obama, as well as their concerns about the economy, Obamacare and government surveillance.

The survey of 2,089 young adults, conducted Oct. 30 through Nov. 11, spells trouble for the Affordable Care Act. The fragile economics underpinning the law hinge on the willingness of healthy, young Americans to forgo penalties and buy health insurance.

According to the poll, 57 percent of millennials disapprove of Obamacare, with 40 percent saying it will worsen their quality of care and a majority believing it will drive up costs. Only 18 percent say Obamacare will improve their care. Among 18-to-29-year-olds currently without health insurance, less than one-third say they’re likely to enroll in the Obamacare exchanges.

Ah, what was it the good Word predicted?  “They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.”  Check, check, check and checkmate.

They’re sure betraying their friend Barack Hussein Obama (who betrayed them first with all of his own demon-possessed lies, just to be fair).  And it’s hard for this puffed-up-with-pride “selfie” “me generation” punks to buy the pleasure they love when Obama is trying to force them to pay double for their health insurance so they can subsidize the older and sicker people.

Even these demon-possessed millennials who constitute the final generation before Antichrist realize that redistribution is only fun when it is a game played with OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY and not their own.

The Antichrist, the beast, is coming.  And all you have to do is look around you and watch all the rodents staring at their little screens the way a trained rat would stare at a food pellet dispenser waiting for his next pellet to know that these are in fact the people who will worship him and take his mark upon their right hands or their foreheads.

And now you know WHY America is never mentioned even ONCE in Bible prophecy.  Because we’ve utterly abandoned the God of our fathers and the God of our fathers has now abandoned us.

The Crisis In Egypt, The Future And Bible Prophecy

January 31, 2011

If the crisis occurring now in Egypt had instead occurred during George Bush’s watch, you can rest assured that the entirety of the mainstream media would have been asking, “Why didn’t the administration know this was coming?”  “How was this not a massive intelligence failure?”  And they would have characterized the Egyptian crisis as a failure of American leadership.

Conservatives like me have taken the attitude, “Do Unto Obama What Liberals Did Unto Bush.”  You find that the ideology out of power can drag down a president one bloody chunk of meat at a time.   Which was precisely what liberals did to Bush for eight unrelenting years.

As a conservative blogwarrior, what I would ordinarily want to do is take an event like the building collapse of the Egyptian government, link it to Obama, and blame his failure of leadership.  That’s what the liberals did on a daily basis to George Bush, and as much as the left decries the very tactic they developed and used to such advantage, it works.

And I CAN link this to Obama.  It was OBAMA’S regime that has been secretly backing Egyptian rebels, who literally set this whole firestorm in motion.  This support began during the period of transition, when Bush was on his way out and Obama was on his way in, and continued under Obama’s thumb.  And the American response to the Egyptian crisis has been nothing short of a fiasco:  Obama’s vice president Joe Biden said that Mubarak isn’t a dictator.  Which means he should stay.  But then Obama’s secretary of state Hillary Clinton says there needs to be an orderly transition of power, which means that he should go.  And then Obama’s press secretary says that the U.S. isn’t taking sides, when in fact the U.S. is incoherently taking sides first one way and then the other, basically as the wind blows.

Right wingers basically have all the evidence they need to throw out the bomb that Obama has been working to undermine US ally Mubarak in order to enable the Muslim Brotherhood to take over strategically vital Egypt.  And that he is even now undermining any coherent American effort to restore order.

And the thing about propaganda is that you can turn out to be completely wrong, but if people believe you at the time, you win, because those people turn against the leader(s) you’re seeking to undermine – and it’s hard to win them back.  And if you throw up enough blame, some of it is bound to stick.

All that said…

While I’m a political conservative, I’m not JUST a political conservative.  Unlike political liberals, who are secular humanists whose religion is big government – and for whom government is the only answer to the problems of man – politics is NOT the only solution to the world’s problems for me.  I also have Jesus Christ and the Scriptures that He came to fulfill.

And what the Scriptures say are more important to me than my opinions about Obama or even my limited government conservative political ideology.

With that said, I will NOT play the game of the political ideologue, using the latest crisis to denounce the current administration’s mishandling and predicting doom as a result of the president’s incompetence.

I will try to state what the Scriptures say about a strategically incredibly important nation that is nearly as ancient as man himself.

And so I am going to say that, as a student of Scripture and of Bible prophecy, I believe that Egypt will ultimately turn out okay.  Rather than point to the unrest in Egypt and denounce Obama for the horrors that will surely follow – as I would do if I were simply operating as a conservative ideologue and blogwarrior – I am stating my belief that Egypt won’t turn out like Iran.

Now why do I say that?

Because of the book of Ezekiel chapters 38-39.

Ezekiel 38 and 39 describes a list of seemingly obscure names of nations bearing their sixth century BC names.  Scholars can trace those ancient names and pair them with peoples and nations of today.  What we learn is that in the future, in the last days, a vast army of what are today Islamic countries led by Russia and Iran will launch a surprise attack against Israel.  And that God Himself will divinely and supernaturally intervene on Israel’s behalf.

Two things are significant: 1) the names of the nations on the list.  Why?  Because except for Russia – a key ally to Islamic regimes – every nation on the list is today a Muslim nation with animosity toward Israel; and 2) the names of the nations that are not on the list.

Joel Rosenberg became famous understanding this.  As just one example, Rosenberg wrote a “last days” novel.  Because he understood that Iraq (ancient Babylon) was not mentioned as one of the nations that would join the Russian-Iran-led coalition to attack Israel, Rosenberg “killed off” Saddam Hussein – whom he rightly understood would have participated in such an invasion.  And how did he do it?  By having America take him out after a terrorist flew a plane into an American building.  And he wrote this nine months prior to the 9/11 attack.

He writes in an interesting article that explains the book of Ezekiel and Bible prophecy:

It should be noted that conspicuously absent from the list is Egypt and Iraq (typically referred to in Scripture as Babylon or Mesapotamia). This is noteworthy since Ezekiel was writing the prophecy in the City of Babylon, in the heart of Iraq. We would have to expect, then, that neither Egypt nor Iraq will participate. Egypt, of course, signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979. Iraq is now so engrossed in its own internal struggles that it would be unlikely to join a coalition to destroy Israel in the next few years. We are, therefore, living in the first window in human history in which neither of these historic enemies of the Jewish people are likely to be involved in the next major Middle East war.

This isn’t the first article in which I make mention of Egypt and Iraq and their role in the future according to Bible prophecy, for the record.

Now, I don’t cite Joel Rosenberg because he’s a “prophet.”  Nor would he want me to do so.  Rather, I cite him because he has a rock-solid understanding of Bible prophecy and because he has concretely demonstrated that his understanding of the Bible makes him prescient of otherwise obscure and constantly-changing modern times events.

Prior to Anwar Sadat’s signing of a peace treaty with Israel in 1979 (for which he was murdered), Egypt had fought Israel during the 1948 war; it had fought Israel in 1956; it had fought Israel again in 1967; and it had fought Israel in the 1973 Yom Kippur war.

What is happening now in Egypt – with riots and violence and deaths and looting and vigilantes – is terrifying.  But somehow Egypt will end up with a government that will continue to be at peace with Israel.  Which means it won’t ultimately be controlled by terrorists or jihadist regimes.  We can’t know what will happen in the very near term, but overall, the terrorists of the Muslim Brotherhood will not end up in control of Egypt.  And up to this point, thank God, there has been a conspicuous absence of Israeli and American flag burnings in Egypt.

Frightening things are happening in the Middle East.  Tunisia, Yemen, Jordan, Algeria and Egypt are spiraling out of control as we speak.  Iran is one the verge of having The Bomb, and the world will become a very different place after this terrorism-sponsoring rogue regime feels it can act with impunity.  And the fact that Iran is Shiite will force many Sunni nations to develop nuclear weapons of their own in a terrifying arms race in the craziest place in the world.  And, of course, North Korea has committed several acts of war against its South Korean counterpart.

Jesus said that in the last days there would be wars and rumors of wars.  He described “birth pangs” in which each wave would be more painful than the last.  And while there have ALWAYS been wars, what we would see would be a level above anything the past has witnessed.  After two thousand years of relative peace, we had World War I, World War II, the Cold War (of which the Korean War and the Vietnam War were part), and now fighting that has at once gone to the “biblical world” (Iraq – Operations Desert Storm and then Desert Fox – as well as Afghanistan) even as it has spread to the rest of the world in an unprecedented way via terrorism.

And we aint seen nothin’ yet.  Soon there will come the Antichrist, also called the beast, who will come promising peace and prosperity, and who will come to rule the world, but who will in reality turn into the devil incarnate.  And those who are left on the earth will find war and ruin and death such as the world has never witnessed in all of its history.

It all sounds terrifying.  And of course it IS terrifying.  But I don’t have to be afraid.

First of all, I believe that God is in control.  And that God protects and delivers His people.  Second, I believe in the Rapture of the saints prior to the wrath of God.

What is God’s purpose for allowing such terrible events to befall mankind?  Why does God permit the coming of the beast?  Because mankind is in a stage in which it denies God and even claims that belief in God is creating all the problems in the world.  This powerful global secular humanist movement says that mankind is on the verge of greatness and that if the intolerant Christians could only be removed, humanity could attain that greatness.  And God will give them their chance.  He will remove all those who believe in His Son, and give the world its chance to govern itself without Him.  And what we will see instead of the Utopia these secularists have always described will be literal hell on earth.

And Jesus Christ will ultimately return to earth as King of kings and as Lord of lords just in time to prevent mankind from totally destroying itself as all the armies of the world gather at a place known as Armageddon.

It is THIS King of kings whose government I trust in; and no other.

The Book of Daniel says, “Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” (Daniel 12:4).  Knowledge has exploded as no other period in human history has ever seen, and yet we run to and fro in panic and uncertainty more than at any other time.

You don’t have to be afraid.  There is a God who knows the end from the beginning.  Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own [or the expert’s] understanding, and rest assured that ultimately the government of the world will be upon the shoulders of the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7).

Politics For Kindergartners

Lesson Learned!

I was talking to the little girl of a friend of mine the other day
who said she wanted to be President some day.

Both of her parents, who are liberal Democrats, were standing there,
so I asked her, ‘If you were President what would be the first thing
you would do?’

Obama Caught With Yet ANOTHER Radical Association

August 8, 2008

Obama keeps reaching back to his Chicago political past for his policy advisers, and pulling one despicable, vile, and even evil rabbit after another out of his hat.

The list of Barack Obama’s radical associations is long and it keeps getting longer. Some are now well-known, but many are not.

They need to be.

Oh, we know about Obama’s 23 years at Trinity United Church of Christ. And we know about Jeremiah Wright. These relationships alone were enough to prompt the leftist Rolling Stone Magazine to acknowledge that:

This is as openly radical a background as any significant American political figure has ever emerged from, as much Malcolm X as Martin Luther King Jr.

And of course, many have heard the name of Father Michael Pfleger and his hateful and race-hating ramblings (what do you call a white man who despises his own race? A liberal).

But many don’t realize that Barack Obama met the radical social activist Father Pfleger while Obama was carrying out his own radical social activism. They don’t realize that Barack Obama’s stint as a “community organizer” was at ACORN, about as radical an organization that one can find in America.

But you haven’t heard quite as much about James Meeks, the third of Obama’s three closest “spiritual advisor’s.” You can hear one of his “sermons” on Youtube.

We certainly could learn more about another of Barack Obama’s friends from Chicago, Penny Pritzker, who heads the Obama campaign’s National Finance Committee. We can look into her own financial background and learn that not only was she the president of Superior Bank – which massively failed; and not only did she literally personally buy her way out of jail by paying a $460 MILLION dollar “fine”; but that she was at the very epicenter of what would become known as “the subprime loan scandal” that would come to eat this nation’s financial system alive.

We could look at former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson, former head of Obama’s vice presidential selection committee until it was discovered that he had benefited from sweetheart loans from subprime king Countrywide.

The name Tony Rezko certainly ought to sound familiar.

The name William Ayers, terrorist bomber, Obama-co-lecturer, fellow board member, neighbor, and friend should certainly come to mind.

We could also look at Barack Obama’s youthful associations and see just how radical and troubling they are:

Barack Obama has been steeped in radical politics since the day he emerged from his atheist secular humanist grad student mother’s womb. The openly communist Frank Marshall Davis was his childhood mentor; Saul Alinsky and Gerald Kellman (it was through Kellman’s Woods Fund that Obama met leftist terrorist William Ayers) dominated his thinking in college. He chose the most radical church in the country; he chose to make Jeremiah Wright his “spiritual mentor”; he chose to immerse himself in hard-core ideological radicalism. Never before has this country considered such a radical leftist for its chief executive.

Barack Obama’s own wife Michelle should have a LOT more explaining to do than her “and for the first time in my adult life I’m proud of my country,” her, “America is a mean place in 2008” comments. If that’s all you know about her “work,” you have no IDEA. The following short video is guaranteed to give you some “Oh, My God!” moments, or I’ll refund your money:

Now we find another Obama association that exposes a whole other ugly can of worms.

Chicago lawyer Mazen Asbahi, who was appointed as the national coordinator for Muslim American affairs by the Obama campaign (if this link fails you will know that the Obama campaign is continuing to scrub its website) less than two weeks ago, stepped down Monday after an Internet newsletter wrote about his brief stint on the fund’s board – which also included a fundamentalist imam – prompting The Wall Street Journal to email inquiries. Asbahi attempted to make his brief time on a board the issue, when the real issues were his relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood, and his 8-year long personal relationship with Hamas fundraiser Jamal Said.

Gee, Mr. Barack Hussein Obama. If you really want people to forget that you are the son of a Muslim father who served an incredibly brutal and corrupt Kenyan government; if you want them to forget that you attended a madrassa in Indonesia as a child and even practiced Islam; if you want them to forget that you campaigned in Kenya on behalf of your cousin, Raila Odinga, who relied upon chaos, corruption, and even violence in his campaign; numerous other troubling associations between yourself and radical Muslims; forget those photographs of you waling around in traditional Muslim clothes, well then maybe, just maybe, you shouldn’t hang around with Muslim radicals such as Mazen Asbahi and another radical pal of yours, the anti-Semite Rashid Khalidi.

It is frankly impossible for me to understand how Barack Obama managed to win the Democratic nomination. That so many Americans could care less about who their candidate really is – beyond the fact that he is the Democrat in the race – is simply amazing.

In Memory of Tony Snow & Tim Russert: Paradigms of Decency

July 12, 2008

I didn’t write about Tim Russert’s passing, although I thought about it.

But, as I think about the passing of Tony Snow today, I am reminded of Tim Russert’s contribution to political discourse as well.

Tony Snow was an articulate conservative, who always argued conservative values and positions effectively.  But he was much more than that: he was a genuinely real human being who valued other people.

That made him rare in the world of politics.

One of his friends, Fox News’ Griff Jenkins, said of Snow during the July 12 broadcast, “Tony Snow taught me more about optimism, more about joy, more about overcoming, than anyone I have ever known.”

He was – along with Tim Russert – a man of true religion.  Both men came to radiate a sense of profound decency and goodness of character that characterized their work and changed the people around them.

It was from their Christian religion that both Tim Russert and Tony Snow obtained their values that so shaped and molded their characters that they were never without their smiles even during difficult times.  Somehow these two men “got it,” and were able to carry “it” with them even through the bloodsport atmosphere of the world of politics.

I have frequently considered my own tendency to take politics personally, and to consider the “other side” as a threat to everything I stand for and believe in.

The passing of men like Tim Russert and Tony Snow makes me think about the rightness and validity of my approach all the more.

I still believe that many Democrats in key positions of power genuinely do represent a threat to this country, and that I must fight to stand up for what I passionately believe is right and oppose what I passionately believe is wrong.  I also believe that a greater sense of civility would have a powerful positive impact on the nature of our political discourse and upon our society in general.

There’s a tension between these two ideas.  It’s almost like walking on a tightrope.

Men like Tim Russert and Tony Snow found the balance.

Their passing makes me think and gives me hope.  If they can find such a marvelous balance, perhaps I can also.

In any event, I have no question that both men are in heaven right now, arguing politics with smiles on their faces.  Maybe one day we will be able to do the same down here on earth.
