Corporations Are People. Period.

The left loves to come unglued over the notion that corporations have any rights to be treated according to what they clearly are: groups of PEOPLE united together for a common cause.  To this day, I don’t believe that we’ve ever had a bank of robots decide to incorporate themselves any more than we’ve had a group of chipmunks incorporate themselves.  People incorporate.  Corporations are people.

Invariably, that is because liberals demand that NOTHING really should have the rights of “personhood” and the freedoms, rights and privileges that persons have under the American Constitution.  Rather, they believe, we all ought to be treated as slave meat puppets who are herd animals passively chewing our cuds while government masters push the buttons and pull the levers of a Government-as-God that alone has the divine right to make all decisions for everyone and everything.

Let me point out a fact and then ask a question: corporations can be sued.  In fact, liberals LOVE suing corporations.  That’s a fact.  The question is, “Is there anything else that you can sue that ISN’T a person?”  I mean, can I sue a tree, or a rock, or that pesky squirrel?

I asked a liberal that, and he thought in vain for a while before finally brightening.  “Governments,” he said.  “You can sue governments.  Governments aren’t people.”

“Really?” I asked.  And then thanked him for once again revealing what fascists liberals invariably are.  Because:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Maybe the dream government of liberal Democrats aren’t people, but that’s only because they have nothing whatsoever in common with America or it’s Constitution or the people who wrote it or the people who laid down their lives to defend it.  The United States of America is “the people.”  It’s PEOPLE.  Just like corporations are people.

You can sue a corporation because the same laws that give corporations the right to do things that make fascist liberals so rabid – such as contribute to the political candidates and campaigns that affect them – make them liable to be held accountable for their actions that affect other people.

Only people can sue people.  I’ve never received a summons from an opossum.  And I’ve never heard of anyone successfully suing a houseplant.

Corporations have rights because they are composed of people united in common cause.  The whole entity is deemed a “person” who is able to be held accountable by others or to hold others accountable for actions that affect it.

If you don’t think that corporations should be able to donate to political campaigns because the free speech laws shouldn’t apply to them because they aren’t people, at least shock thinking, decent folk (non-liberals) by demanding that corporations cannot be sued on the identical same ground that they are not people and therefore cannot be held accountable as only people can be held accountable.

But that’s the thing about the left, that’s ALWAYS the thing about the left; they want to dehumanize their opponent, they want to strip away any scintilla of humanity, demonize them and force them into a corner where they have only duties imposed on them and no rights to defend themselves with.  Barack Hussein Obama made his career out of following Lucifer’s Rules (see also here) to constantly attack and dehumanize his political enemies as a community agitator employing and literally TEACHING Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.  So corporations shouldn’t have any of the rights of people – except the “right” to have liberals sue the life out of them.

As another example of what the world would look like if liberals got their way and were actually CONSISTENT rather than HYPOCRITICAL for just one nanosecond of their despicable existences, consider taxes.  Should we try to obtain more revenue by taxing all the animals and insects and fish and birds that live in America???  Why not???  BECAUSE THEY’RE NOT PEOPLE.  So let’s agree that corporations aren’t people and let liberals championing abolishing all taxes for corporations.  Except for, oh that’s right; liberals are DISHONEST HYPOCRITES.

Just as a final aside, if you really want to know who should not be deemed “people,” it’s the liberal Democrats who think corporations aren’t people.  And the reason is that they believe in abortion; which is to say that on their own claim about themselves, they are things that could have been destroyed as “non-people” and in fact are merely non-people at a later point in time.  And therefore we the people ought to have “the right to choose” to terminate them the same way they’ve terminated more than sixty million innocent human beings.

Cynical Demagogue Obama Holding Border Security Hostage To Leftwing Agenda

Obama says the following isn’t true, and Jon Kyle is lying.  Personally, I say the Liar-in-Chief is lying.  But if Obama ISN’T lying, all he has to do is demonstrate that he in fact has been actively working to bolster border security.  All he has to do is show us what he’s done.

Oh, wait.  He hasn’t done crap.  Not a damn thing.  The only thing he HAS done is sent in a battalion of lawyers to sue Arizona for actually DOING SOMETHING TO SLOW DOWN OUT-OF-CONTROL ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

The Obama administration doesn’t have to actually bother to read the Arizona law to know they don’t like it.  Because they don’t like ANYTHING that does ANYTHING to slow down illegal immigration.

He mentioned that he was going to send 1200 National Guardsmen a few weeks back – quickly adding that they would only be used for “desk security” rather than any kind of actual border security.  In the Army we had a term for useless desk jockies who did nothing but make the lives of the actual grunts shorter, nastier, and more brutish: “Chairborne Rangers.”  But even given that the desk security personnel are going to be utterly useless, just where exactly the hell are they?  Governer Brewer says they sure haven’t appeared in her state.

Obama thinks that saying he’s going to do something is just as good as actually doing it.  So he doesn’t need to do anything now that he said he would do something.

Kind of like Gitmo.  Only this time he actually promised to do something that would at least be a tiny step in the right direction, rather than a massive step in the wrong one.

In a stunning revelation at an Arizona town hall meeting this past Friday, Republican Senator Jon Kyl told his constituents that President Obama privately insisted that he will not secure the border until amnesty for illegal aliens passes first. According to Kyl, Obama argued that Democrats would lose their bargaining chips for any type of amnesty if the government beefs up its presence on the chaotic border. “The problem is,” Obama allegedly told Kyl, “If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

Transcript (at 3:21):

SEN. JON KYL:  I met with the president in the Oval Office, just the two of us… Here’s what the president said.  “The problem is,” he said, “If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

[gasps from the audience]

KYL:  In other words they’re holding it hostage.  They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with comprehensive immigration reform.  I explained, “You and I have an obligation to secure the border.  That’s an obligation.  It also has some potentially positive benefits.  You don’t have to have comprehensive immigration to secure the border, but you have to have a secure border to get comprehensive immigration reform.  You may be surprised, maybe you don’t think that there’d be any more incentive, but I’m not so sure that that’s true.  In any event, it doesn’t matter we’re supposed to secure the border.”

That’s why this is being done.  They want to get something in return for doing their duty.  And that’s—

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Chicago politics.

KYL: Yeah.

The fact that Obama is denying this demonstrates how utterly despicable even he knows it is.

And, yet, just how is it in any way not in complete character with the Obama we’ve come to know and actively despise???

This is the Obama who made every sort of promise about his ObamaCare, and then systematically broke virtually all of them.  This is the Obama who has demagogued the Gulf disaster to try to gin up support for his godawful cap-and-trade boondoggle.  This is the Obama who made BP an “offer it couldn’t refuse” by threatening to criminally prosecute them even though there is no evidence yet of anything criminal, while Obama declared open war on BP’s stock price to force it to do what he wanted.

Obama hasn’t done anything about border security.  And he won’t, because Jon Kyle is telling the truth, and Barry Hussein is a lying demagogue.

Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama: Saving The Planet, Megalomaniac-style

Nancy Pelosi is bending over backwards to use any tactic and any trick to block any Republican energy proposal.

Why? Because Nancy Pelosi is a superhero. She’s out to save the planet. Maybe she calls herself “Supernanny” (I would offer “Superninny”).

A quote from a Politico interview provides one of the many bizarro world insights into her fractured psyche:

With fewer than 20 legislative days before the new fiscal year begins Oct. 1, the entire appropriations process has largely ground to a halt because of the ham-handed fighting that followed Republican attempts to lift the moratorium on offshore oil and gas exploration. And after promising fairness and open debate, Pelosi has resorted to hard-nosed parliamentary devices that effectively bar any chance for Republicans to offer policy alternatives.

“I’m trying to save the planet; I’m trying to save the planet,” she says impatiently when questioned. “I will not have this debate trivialized by their excuse for their failed policy.”

“I respect the office that I hold,” she says. “And when you win the election, you win the majority, and what is the power of the speaker? To set the agenda, the power of recognition, and I am not giving the gavel away to anyone.”

Let’s face it, Washington: This speaker is different. She’s the first woman ever to hold the post and a very tough one at that, with a penchant for the mystical.

David Rogers is too kind: Speaker Pelosi has a penchant for the bizarre.

The thing that makes her posturing so ridiculously laughable is that she says she’s trying to save the planet by blocking domestic drilling. Doesn’t she realize that Saudi Arabia is part of the planet she claims to be trying to save?

She wants them to increase their production:

"As record oil prices continue to burden American families and businesses,
reports indicate that the President's visit to Saudi Arabia today to push for
increased production has failed. Despite considerable influence, the Bush
Administration has been ineffective in pressuring Saudi Arabia and, yet again,
has failed to effectively use diplomacy to exact short-term relief for
American consumers."

This underscores the hypocrisy of this woman: she does everything she can to block domestic oil production in a move to save the planet, and practically at the same time she denounces the President for being unable to get another country to increase its oil production on the same planet she claims to be trying to save.

It’s even more absurd and hypocritical than that: her Democrats in her House of Representatives actually passed a bill to sue OPEC for limiting oil supplies.

Consider the implicit statement of her preposterous position: “I as Speaker will do everything I can to prevent America from harnessing its own oil resources because I’m trying to save the planet; but I will simultaneously do everything I can to force another country to increase its production.”

How does Nancy Pelosi’s head not explode from all the contradictions?

Nancy Pelosi’s effort “to save the planet” is resulting in our dependency on foreign oil to the tune of $700 billion a year.

Speaker Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Barack Obama are on the same page when it comes to energy. They produce plenty of finger pointing and demagoguing, but produce no energy at all.

And Barack Obama is quoting Pelosi in his own megalomaniacal and self-aggradizing self-image:

“This is the moment, as Nancy [Pelosi] noted, that the world is waiting for… I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions.”

This is unfolding like the beast of the Book of Revelation and his false prophet. It is scary and getting scarier.

There’s piece by Gerard Baker in the Times of London lampooning this image of Obama as Messiah. I have written about it as well. But it’s frankly not a laughing matter any more. The language that Obama is using concerning himself is frankly religious. We haven’t heard anything like this since der Fuhrer – who spoke at the same setting in Germany – and spoke to similar enthralled crowds. A man with this level of pseudo-self-identity is a man who can go down a disastrous path without hesitation. He becomes the man Justice Louis Brandeis envisioned when he said, “The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding.”

When millions of people become caught up in a zeal that is mindless because it is without any defining substance to follow a man because he is a symbol of something else, there is no limit to the depths of chaos we can descend into.  Remember it was not “warmongers” who left the Western world shockingly unprepared for the holocausts of World War II; it was the self-righteous appeasing liberal mindset epitomized by Neville Chamberlain.

As usual, Barack Obama paints a beatific picture that is utterly devoid of details. Just what is it Obama thinks would represent “America returning to its best traditions”? And just why on earth is he its symbol? Perhaps it’s absolutely refusing to become energy independent while sending lawyers to another country to force it to supply the energy that we refuse to supply for ourselves? Obama is a man who is so entirely devoid of policy substance, and so self-assured of his infallibility, that he can routinely make completely contradictory statements without ever acknowledging any change at all.

We have seen the Congress spiral down to its lowest level of unpopularity ever recorded under the leadership of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. And now we are on the verge of electing someone who will very likely be an even greater disaster.

The thought of these two self-aggrandizing megalomaniacs having control over the control fills me with a dread unlike anything I’ve ever known.
