Vile Liberal Occupy Movement Killed The Grass At L.A. City Hall – What Should Be Done Now?

The LA Times has this to say about the Occupy Movement’s only documented “accomplishment” thus far:

Whatever the accomplishments of Occupy L.A. when it finally decamps — or gets evicted — from around City Hall, one positive achievement is already clear: It has killed the lawn.

The Times’ editorial board has harrumphed about the taxpayer expense of replacing one of downtown’s “rare green spaces,” and it worries that the “majestic figs” are at risk. Last week, the Department of Recreation and Parks sent an aggrieved letter to the mayor about signs nailed to trees, broken sprinkler heads and compacted soil. The nails and compacted soil are unfortunate. But really, Rec and Parks is missing the point. Occupy L.A. has given City Hall the chance to walk its talk.

For more than two years, the mayor and the City Council have been preaching water conservation. Yet since they instituted a citywide sprinkler ordinance in 2009, and even started paying single-family homes a buck a square foot to rip out lawns, by the Department of Water and Power’s own estimate 54% of the water used by single-family homes still goes outside. The government is almost as profligate: 41% of its water is outdoor use. Much of this goes to lawns.

Los Angeles cannot be expected to improve these numbers unless the mayor and the City Council lead by example. Other cities, such as Austin, Texas, understand this. In 2004, Austin responded to chronic overuse of the local aquifer by surrounding its City Hall with native gardens irrigated by a rain-catchment system.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles has left a plan for re-landscaping City Hall with a similarly progressive garden stuck somewhere between the bureaus of sanitation and engineering. City officials will neither confirm nor deny the existence of the plan, but word in the landscape design community is that it is stalled because of lack of funds.

This insistence that we cling to a wasteful model because conservation is too expensive doesn’t scan. Whatever hard times the city faces, the real deficit isn’t money. It’s skill. The inertia isn’t budgetary. It’s cultural.

Until Occupy L.A. smothered it last month, lawn remained around Los Angeles City Hall in part because that’s what Rec and Parks knows how to tend. To have a garden that celebrates our Mediterranean climate the way Austin’s salutes Texas prairie, Rec and Parks staff would need to learn how to weed instead of mow, mulch instead of blow and maintain drip irrigation instead of sprinklers.

Since the largely drought-tolerant sweeps of palo verde trees, succulents and desert palms went in near City Hall around police headquarters in 2009, lead landscape architect Scott Baker has become so demoralized by Rec and Parks maintenance that he sounds halfway between heartbroken and bitter. Asked what might be done around City Hall, he said, “I don’t think that this city deserves any great green spaces until they can figure out ahead of time how to maintain it.”

Thanks to Occupy L.A., Los Angeles will have the perfect place to learn. Stephen Billings, landscape architect behind the year-old gardens around the Valley Performing Arts Center in Northridge, managed the wide use of native trees and grasses only by working from inception with the facilities staff of Cal State Northridge. As Billings sees it, the teaching gardens around City Hall could be temporary until grounds staff were skilled enough to maintain a suitably stately model. “It’s a new time,” he said. “It’s about learning. It’s not about keeping up appearances.”

And the article continues to drone on and on.  Blah blah blah.  And then more blah.

You see, I’ve got a much better way to deal with the fact that liberals have killed the lawn and the landscaping around city hall.  Let it stay exactly as it is.

Let it remain exactly as it is as an object lesson of what liberalism does: it ruins.  It destroys.  It kills.  And then, of course, it seeks to take the very damn “crisis” that it itself created and turn it into yet another boondoggle symptom of the very liberalism that created the mess in the first place.

Oh, we might spend a few bucks on the formerly hallowed (before liberals pissed and crapped all over it) landscape of the formerly beautiful Los Angeles City Hall – to buy a big sign.  It would contain a “before” and “after” photo of the grounds and state simply, “Liberals did this.  Don’t let them do it to you.”

My solution will be far, FAR less expensive than Emily Green’s.  And it will actually tell the real story.

Here’s another solution: make the worthless Occupy cockroaches get off the damn grass or at least confiscate every single thing that the as a “community” own to force them to pay for the millions of dollars in taxpayer money they (literally) pissed away.  Because I bet liberals would actually start getting responsible about the trillions of dollars they piss away every damn year if it was THEIR DAMN MONEY.

The American Left Personified By Occupy Movement: Vile, Violent Fascist Thugs

“Occupy” as in “occupation”; vile and violent people taking over and threatening and intimidating and attacking anyone or anything that stands between them and what they want.

What follows on the video ought to remind you that the left have been using tactics exactly like this since the 1960s.  Just as they have been going to conservative events and “demonstrating” what they think about free speech or the rights of others by barging in on the other sides’ events and acting like the fascists they truly are.  And if you try to stand your ground for your own rights they fall on the ground and pretend they’re martyrs.

The Joseph Goebbels propaganda of the mainstream media repeatedly characterized the Tea Party as violent; it never was, as the complete absence of arrests shows.  Day after day, night after night, we are seeing that it is the LEFT and the DEMOCRATS who are match their vileness with violence.  There’s violence and fires everywhere they go; and they mock the police chanting that “you have to arrest all of us.”  Like the vile mob of thugs that they are.

Here’s the Occupy DC mob – while also keeping average (and black and with a two-year old in the car, for the record) working people from going home and assaulting women and children – physically and violently “occupying” a Tea Party event (Defending the American Dream Summit) and injuring elderly people (such as the elderly woman who is shoved down at 2:30 into the video).

“You son of a bitches” is right.  You vile, fascist sons of bitches:

Democrats are showing America what they are: genuine vermin.

In the last minute of the video, another black driver (i.e. over a 90% likelihood that he is a Democrat) apparently got fed up enough to use his car to go through a blockade.  And the same people who had no problem shoving down elderly women and assaulting mothers and children immediately proceed to use the manufactured “crisis” they created by illegally blocking the street to depict themselves as victims.

The leftist Occupy DC vermin actually used their own children – including TODDLERS – as human shields to block people and even cars in.  They intentionally put their own children at risk.  That is cockroach behavior.

In non-Occupy violence, a liberal vandalized a statue of Ronald Reagan in Newport Beach while another liberal was arrested for threatening to rape the wife and harm the family of Republican (and Jew) Eric Cantor.  At the Portland Occupy mob event there is an outbreak of lice among the demonstrators (one vile form of parasite afflicting another even more vile form of parasite) while the lice-ridden demonstrators are going to lose their port-o-potties because they couldn’t resist acting like the fascist vandal thugs that they are:

Apparently the lice are starting their own ‘Occupy’ movement.  As Nancy Pelosi said, “God bless ’em.”

Keep in mind that it was the left who started the next typhus epidemic (mind you, they’ll blame Bush for that, too).

Where’s Honeydipper Dan when you need him to deal with the filthy, vile, putrid stench of liberalism???

You liberals are just pure FILTHY fascist scum and the least three years (actually going back to 2007 when you took over the House and the Senate) is proof positive  that whenever you get any power whatsoever nothing but bad happens.

The question becomes, “How should decent people respond to this?”  And decent people (i.e. people other than liberals) will disagree.  Should we “do unto them as they do unto us” and employ violent thug tactics to disrupt their events?  Should we become as vilent as them?  Or maybe fall down and get taken away in an ambulence if they touch us so we can press charges or sue later? 

History proves that the tendency of civilized society is to cave in to such vile, violent minorities because the majority simply isn’t willing to stand up for themselves.

At the same time, as a Christian, I believe that we cannot act as the demonic world system (i.e. liberalism) acts.  God called us to be better – just as He has a far better destiny in store for us.

On the one hand, we have to be willing to stand up for our own rights and freedoms.  Because otherwise our rights and freedoms will be taken away to appease the screaming, violent left.  But we can surely do it in a better way than what we’re seeing from “Occupy,” can’t we???

Democrats’ Pseudo-Demonization Again On Display

A 24-year-old arrested this morning on suspicion of smashing 11 windows at Colorado Democratic Party headquarters tried to conceal his identity while allegedly committing the crime, according to police descriptions.

Maurice Schwenkler wore a shirt over his face, a hooded sweat shirt and latex gloves before he and another man fled the scene on bicycles, police said. Schwenkler was apprehended after a short chase. The other suspect remains at large.

While Schwenkler does not appear in the state’s voter registration database, a person by that name in November 2008 received $500 from a political 527 committee called Colorado Citizens Coalition for “communications,” according to campaign finance disclosures.

The accountant for the 527 appears to be the same woman who handles the books for many other Democratic-leaning political committees.

A Maurice Schwenkler also signed an online 2005 petition to free anti-war Christian protesters who were captured in Iraq.

State Democratic Party Chairwoman Pat Waak initially blamed the vandalism on animosity surrounding the health care debate, though Denver police declined to comment on possible motives.

The shattered windows were emblazoned with posters touting President Barack Obama and the Democratic position on health care reform.

The other storefronts surrounding the building on West Eighth Avenue and Santa Fe Drive in downtown Denver’s art district were untouched. But the Democratic posters are scuffed from hammer blows, Waak said.

“We ought to be having a serious, conscientious debate about what’s best for the country,” Waak said. “Clearly there’s been an effort on the other side to stir up hate. I think this is the consequence of it.”

She estimates the damage at $11,000.

An officer on patrol spotted vandals in the act around 2:20 a.m. and took Schwenkler into custody after a short chase, Denver police spokeswoman Vicki Ferrari said.

And, lo and behold, the police arrested the 2nd person – a transgender anarchist.  Pretty clearly, “she” is not a Republican:

Right now we are trying to raise the bail money for her to get out of jail; her bail hearing will be tomorrow at 10am Denver time. Several lawyers have told us to expect anywhere from between $3,000 to $10,000 in bail, and due to the high publicity of the case here in Denver, we are expecting higher (lead story for most all local news outlets, and being picked up by national news networks).

At this moment, we do not know Ariel’s status within the jail, especially regarding her gender classification. We have been unable to talk with Ariel since she went in. She is listed in the jail records and media under her birth name. We also do not know what plans, if any, she had made for this situation.

So you see, when you hear about the “stirring up of hate,” think Democrats.

When you see a swastika and hear a Democrat talking about the vileness of Republicans, realize that a Democrat almost certainly put it there.

When you see Democrats blaming Republicans for something that is truly awful, realize that in all probability, a Democrat did it.

This has been going on at least since the 1960s, when radical black students burned a cross in a black women’s dorm to justify their violent riots.

The episode gives Kyle-Ann Shiver’s article, “Obama’s Nazi Straw Man: An Old Alinsky Trick,” a whole lot more credibility:

When Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and now the president’s own deputy press secretary conjure up images of Nazis at healthcare town halls, they are engaging in one of the oldest tricks in anyone’s book, but an especial favorite of their mentor, Saul Alinsky.

Alinsky himself employed this method, quite deviously.  Alinsky biographer, Sanford D. Horwitt provides an anecdote using precisely this same diabolical tactic to deceive the people.  From Horwitt’s Let Them Call Me Rebel:

“…in the spring of 1972, at Tulane University…students asked Alinsky to help plan a protest of a scheduled speech by George H. W. Bush, then U.S. representative to the United Nations – a speech likely to include a defense of the Nixon administration’s Vietnam War policies.  The students told Alinsky they were thinking about picketing or disrupting Bush’s address.  That’s the wrong approach, he rejoined, not very creative – and besides causing a disruption might get them thrown out of school.  He told them, instead, to go to hear the speech dressed as members of the Ku Klux Klan, and whenever Bush said something in defense of the Vietnam War, they should cheer and wave placards reading, ‘The KKK supports Bush.’  And that is what they did, with very successful, attention-getting results.”

Planting major falsehoods has been a favorite Alinsky strategy from the start.  His acolyte, Barack Obama, learned his Industrial Areas Foundation lessons on deceiving for power while on a side trip during his Harvard years, then taught the Alinsky power tactics at the University of Chicago.

Democrats are increasingly becoming truly vile people.  They don’t believe in God, they don’t believe in objective truth, they believe in the same postmodern and existentialist principles that led to Marxism and Nazism, and their philosophy of “will to power” permits them to say anything or do anything that will advance their agenda – no holds barred, and no consequences beyond their ideological objective ever once considered.
