The man who assured us “J-O-B-S” was a “three-letter word” is now telling us how many jobs his caretaker Barack Obama’s (I watched the men in the white coats signing Joe Biden over to Barack Obama’s custody on C-SPAN) stimulus has created: 150,000.
“In the first 77 days of the two-year Recovery Act program, 150,000 jobs have been created or saved,” Biden said in a press release accompanying the report.
But when a few reporters tried to actually FIND those 150,000 jobs, they didn’t have any luck. It turns out to have been a hopeless project, like trying to find Barack Obama’s honesty or Joe Biden’s common sense.
The progress report on the stimulus plan released last week by the vice president’s office contained no such figure, nor did it reference any other document that might corroborate Biden’s claim.
I have my own theory where Joe Biden is keeping those 150,000 jobs: in a bunker at a undisclosed top-secret undisclosed location. You know, the one that’s at the Navel Observatory. At the big house at One Observatory Circle…
… and you’d better just keep the cork on Biden’s fork, Barry Hussein. Because you’re responsible for him now.

Tad DeHaven, a budget analyst with the libertarian Cato Institute, told CNSNews.com that the numbers were derived from a formula that would tell the administration “whatever it wanted to hear.”
“Where do you even start with this nonsense?” DeHaven asked. “This is just a political number, but I’ll leave it to him (Biden) to proclaim it a gospel truth.”
DeHaven added: “They try to make this look scientific and it’s not. It’s just politics. There’s not a lot of science to it, although they dress it up that way.”
The administration that praised itself up one side and down the other as being the most open, the most honest, the most transparent in history, pumping pig poop by the metric ton? Say it aint so, Joe!!!
Another article entitled “FACT CHECK: Data belie Biden stimulus anecdotes” has this:
THE WHITE HOUSE SAID: The stimulus has created or saved 150,000 jobs.
THE FACTS: Since February, the nation has lost more than 1.3 million jobs, according to the Department of Labor. To make the case that the country created jobs over that same stretch, the White House has put forward a benchmark of jobs created “or saved.” The argument is that the job numbers would have been even worse had it not been for the stimulus, and the difference between those numbers is a net positive.
To visualize that disconnect, consider this: The administration has promised to create or save 600,000 more jobs in the next 100 days. Even if the nation loses another 5 million jobs during that span (a highly unlikely prospect) the White House could still claim success.
There are few hard numbers when it comes to tracking stimulus jobs. The Obama administration numbers are based on estimates by the White House Council of Economic Advisers, based largely on a formula Obama’s transition team put forward. It estimates the effect of tax breaks, government spending and social programs on job growth.
Well, don’t look over there at those 1.3 million jobs we’ve lost! That’s nothing! Look over here, at the pretend 150,000 jobs we created!
Mr. “Open, honest, transparent” Obama could literally say ANYTHING about how many jobs he’s created, and there’s no way to verify anything after his wonderful “checks and balances.” And that is on top of the fact that he’s invented this meaningless new category called “saved” jobs.
I “save” a bunch of jobs every time I flush my toilet. Do I get to claim credit?
In spite of the massive spending, there’s actually very little real evidence that the stimulus has created much of ANYTHING. According to a major Associated Press study, the “Poor Remain Poor Under Obama Stimulus.” We shouldn’t be surprised, given the fact that stimulus plans are based on deeply flawed economic theory and rarely ever work. Obama’s promise to create or “save” millions of jobs was basically a big load of iron pyrite from the start. But it’s still astonishing that so much money – $3.27 trillion when it’s all said and done – could have been so completely wasted.
Michelle Malkin’s blog offered one intriguing theory for what happend to all the stimulus money: it’s been spent on millions of road signs to plant in front of pseudo-construction projects as a frinedly propagandist way of saying, “Don’t forget to keep voting Democrat! We’re pissing your children’s money away so they won’t have to!”
Unemployment has increased from 7.2% as of January 22 to 8.9% as of April 2009. Obama has lost 2.055 million jobs just between January and March, according to the AP. And you can add another 539,000 jobs lost in April. That’s 2.6 million jobs gone the way of the Dodo bird, with 1.3 million lost since Obama’s stimulus.
Obama assured Caterpillar workers in Peoria that passing his stimulus would result in laid off workers being rehired. Not only was he wrong, but the company laid off another 2,400 workers after porkulus passed.
And Biden is talking smack about 150,000 phantom jobs created by the stimulus? Jobs he can’t verify even with his own bogus administration’s bogus math?
