Tennessee Flood: The OTHER Obama Katrina

Barack Obama is demonstrating that he is pathologically incapable of actually leading anything beyond the politics of demagoguery and divisiveness.

I’ve written about Obama’s massive failure and culpability over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster:

Obama Has Met His Katrina, And Couldn’t Have Screwed Up Worse

Oh Oh For Obama: BP Disaster Was HIS Project. No Blaming Bush This Time!!!

We find that Obama got more campaign money from BP than ANYONE, that it was Team Obama who approved of BP’s disastrous platform, and that Obama waited NINE DAYS before acting to deal with a growing disaster of mindbogglingly massive proportions.

Quite the Katrina Obama’s got going there.

We also can go back to Obama’s “proto-Katrina” in Haiti, where he failed to respond intelligently or coherently to the massive suffering there.

But there’s a third Katrina that you may not have heard of.  Because Obama hasn’t said a word about it:

Barack Obama has still, to my knowledge, not spoken personally of the events in Tennessee or attempted to visit — an act that would have gotten George W. Bush savagely attacked by the press, Democrats, and Congress.

MediaMatters cites the fact that Obama declared a state of emergency as being an ample response.  But for the official record, George Bush declared a state of emergency TWO DAYS BEFORE Hurricane Katrina hit

Saturday, Aug 27 2005 – 2 Days Prior

Blanco asks President Bush to declare a State of Emergency for the state of Louisiana due to Hurricane Katrina.  Bush does so, authorizing the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA “to coordinate all disaster relief efforts…” and freeing up federal money for the state.

– and still got pounded by the very slimeballs who are now defending Obama.

Bottom line: the media have utterly ignored the massive and deadly Tennessee flooding because Barry Hussein has ignored it.  Obama never used his presidential bully pulpit to attract any attention to a massive disaster.

Does Obama hate white people??? (and please do remember how Bush was demonized for hating black people over Katrina).  So as one writer put it, Obama’s response to Tennesseans has been, “Tough luck, cracker honky whitey.”

Noel Shepperd writes passionately about this third Obama Katrina in Tennessee:

A great American city is currently buried under a sea of water, but you may not know much about it given all the attention media have given to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the failed car bomb attempt in New York’s Times Square.

The rain totals are almost unimaginable as is the flooding.

Damage estimates at this point have already surpassed a billion dollars, and are likely to go higher.

Several of my readers have asked me to post the following video. I cried most of the time I watched. See if you can control your emotions better than I did (video follows with a list of some charitable organizations involved in storm relief, multiple hat-tips to readers in the area):

What is going on in Tennessee is truly heartbreaking.  It is also Obama’s “strike three” Katrina moment.

I guess you only read what YOU feel is relative?????? Check out this link and STOP SPREADING YOUR INFANTILE HATE!

  2. tammy Says:

since when did you really care about the suffering of anyone either after katrina of the tennessee flood , or the people who have lost their livelihood in the gulf states? you only want to destroy Obama. One goal.

  3. Michael Eden Says:

I deleted your Huffington Post link (frankly, I didn’t feel like getting lectured for only reading conservative-friendly coverage by a hypocrite who reads only liberal propaganda). I mean, if you’re going to upbraid me for “only reading what YOU feel is relative,” you might consider having the frigging decency NOT to demand I read your far-leftist loon news. Just saying.

Also allow me to personally mock you for calling a presentation of the facts “infantile hate.” Every thing I said (and say below) is factual. People who call the truth “infantile hate” go way beyond asinine to demonic (see below).

All that said, I’ll let you post your Huffington Post story about how the disaster is really all Bush-Cheney’s fault after you answer the questions I posed in this article:
    1) Why aren’t liberals responsible for the Gulf of Mexico disaster when it is their policies preventing drilling on the coastal shelf that led to this huge disaster???

    From Time:

The Coast Guard and the energy giant BP, which operated the sunken rig and is responsible for the cleanup, have launched a massive operation to contain the spill — an unusual challenge, considering the complexity of underwater drilling. First, remote-controlled robot submarines have been deployed to try to seal off the oil well altogether by activating a massive device called a blowout preventer. If the 450-ton valve at the wellhead can be turned on, the oil flow should stop, and the spill could be ended quickly. But the outcome is far from guaranteed; robots have never been used in an operation of this magnitude nor at this depth — some 5,000 ft. below the surface of the ocean.

The difference in degree of risk from drilling in the coastal shelf at 500 feet (225 psig) to 5000 feet (2250 psig) is so massive it is positively unreal. Liberals who refuse to allow coastal drilling and require offshore drilling in mile deep water who then shrilly claim that an accident in deep water means we shouldn’t drill at all are unhinged.

If this accident had occurred in the shallow waters of the continental/coastal shelf, the accident would have been fixed within 24 hours. As it is, in mile deep water, it might well take months. Why is it Bush’s fault that Obama and Democrats won’t allow drilling in the safe waters of the coastal shelf???

    2) Why is it Bush-Cheney’s fault that Barack Obama took more campaign contributions from BP than ANYBODY???

    3) Why is it Bush-Cheney’s fault that Barack Obama approved this project??? It was OBAMA – not Bush – who approved of this disaster-project in March 2009 (after BP helped him get elected thanks to #2 above).

    4) Why is it Bush-Cheney’s fault that Barack Obama took NINE DAYS to respond to this disaster???

    5) Why is it Bush-Cheney’s fault that Barack Obama naively believed everything that his huge campaign contributor told him?

    And let me add one:
    6) Why is it Bush-Cheney’s fault that Obama himself suddenly personally proposed more drilling???

You answer those six questions, Dawn, and I’ll allow you to post your Huffington link. Otherwise, take your lies and your unhinged mental state someplace else.

If you can’t respond to those six points – which have the virtue of being true – let me just cite John 8:44 to describe you, your lying views, and your hate-filled attitude:

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

  4. Michael Eden Says:

I’m sorry, Tammy. I didn’t know that there was someone like you out there, who had the ability to look into someone’s soul from the electronic pathways of the internet and know what was in other peoples’ hearts.

You don’t know anything about how much I care about the people in Tennessee. Or how much I cared about people in New Orleans. You don’t have any idea what I’ve done, or what I’ve given, to aid these victims. You’re just a liar and hater without shame.

You vicious shrew. People like you who go straight to demonic hate and demagoguery without even bothering to deal with someone’s arguments make me sick. People like you were thrilled when liberals were tearing into Bush over the same issues that Obama is covered with now. But you’re far too dishonest to acknowledge that.

For the record, I never would have thought of attacking a president over a response to something like this. But you hypocrite liberals paved the way for me.

  5. Geoff Says:

I couldn’t agree with Michael more than I already do. Obama is constantly given a free pass while Bush was constantly being investigated. The press is to blame as well as their bias is absolutely shameful. The little bit of coverage given to the flood in Tenessee was so “light” that I didn’t here about it till after most of the damage was done. I consider to be up on world events and I couldn’t believe I had not at least heard about it.

Tammy’s comments don’t even warrant a response, but Obama is a President who is a community agitator and organizer. He has clearly shown he is not a leader. That isn’t tearing down or destroying Obama, it is observation. He has been given several instances to show he can lead 1) Flooding 2) Oil spill 3) Unemployment and in each he has blamed everyone else and launched investigations.

  6. Michael Eden Says:

You nailed the nail on the head.

At this point, Obama is demonstrating that he cannot lead. And in a way it’s not his fault; there was never anything in his life experience that indicated he could lead. Community organizer? State Representative? One-term Senator (who promised he’d serve his first six-year term but then ran for President after 158 days???)???

And then there’s Iran – which Obama said he had the answer for in his “unilateral engagement” bullpuckey that clearly has utterly failed. There’s Afghanistan, which is bogging down as we speak (and remember that Obama demonized Bush for his handling of the war, when Bush at least WON his war). There’s North Korea, which has clearly decided that Obama is a useful idiot at best.

Obama’s stimulus boondoggle has been a total disaster. Only six percent of Americans believe it will create any jobs at all. Obama said it would prevent unemployment from rising above 8%; and what happened?

63% of Americans say they want Obama’s Obamacare boondoggle to be repealed. The thing may well be the anvil that breaks the camel’s back (and we’re the camel).

Which is to say, the only area where Obama “succeeded,” the American people overwhelmingly don’t want his “success.”

He is a total failure. We don’t have a leader, we just have a guy who campaigns for four years. The country will begin to increasingly drift until we get a real president.

  7. Kara Lynn Says:

Michael is actually right. if you see the things going on think to yourself “hmm what if that happend to me?” wouldnt you want help? instead of people playing a blame game or deciding whether or not to help. i’m 14 and I GET THESE CONCEPTS!!! our goal is not to destroy Obama, but to show people that he cannot lead. he has had his chances (multiple times) we go to aid people out of our country but when its one of our own states its not “big enough” to get attention.

  8. Michael Eden Says:

I’m in a little different situation than you, Kara: when I heard all those hateful sermons from Obama’s pastor – a man who had been his “spiritual adviser” for over twenty years – I knew Obama was an evil man. Even before Obama took office, I knew that he was not fit to lead. And that’s why I’ve been opposing him ever since.

In my case, I believe Obama has got to go, and that this country will not only suffer until he’s gone, but will likely suffer for years afterward due to the damage he’s already done.

I don’t care what color or what race Obama is – there are plenty of conservatives of color whom I would gladly see in office. What I care about is 1) Obama has a Marxist/fascist worldview just as progressives such as Wilson and FDR had before him; and 2) Obama as a community organizer doesn’t have anywhere NEAR the personal resources to lead. Liberals mocked Sarah Palin’s record of leadership, when she had FAR more leadership experience than Obama. And now we’re paying for that.

Obama allowed Tennessee to suffer simply because it is a Republican state, and he didn’t give a damn about those American citizens.

And he clearly has demonstrated a total failure of leadership over the fiasco in the Gulf.
