Democrats Viciously Attack Sarah Palin As Bad Mother

Do you wish you had a nickel for every time you heard the phrase, “the Republican attack machine“?  Would you buy your own island if you had all those nickels?

Republicans, we are told, use dirty tricks.  Democrats, on the other hand, are represented as being pure as the driven snow.

You want proof?  Just look at John Kerry; he was “Swiftboated” (the fact that 264 of John Kerry’s fellow Swift Boat veterans signed a petition against him, and only 13 took his side, is apparently irrelevant.  And Barack Obama told Tennessee Republicans to “Lay off my wife” for attacking some of her public statements.

You can’t get lower than that, can you?

Until we start to learn that liberals will dredge to the depths of hell to get as low and dirty as they can, and then they will keep on digging.  And they will stop at absolutely nothing until they have reached absolute rock bottom.

John Kerry Swiftboated?  It turns out that if he’d been a Republican, he would have been accused of having committed incest with both of his two daughters, secretly fathering children by his children, and then selling his incest babies into slavery in Cambodia.  Barack Obama’s wife attacked for her public statements?  It turns out that if Barack had been a Republican, Michelle would have been accused of leaving her two girls in a sealed-up car for hours while she smoked crack cocaine.  And let’s not forget the reports that Barack Obama has been engaging in “down-low” gay sex with a clandestine group of several men, and locks his children in a dark storage closet for hours at a time while the liaisons are talking place.

Do you think I’m exaggerating?  Just wait until you see what liberals are saying about Sarah Palin as a mother, and what they are saying about her family.  What I have seen in the last few days’ coming from Democrats is the most vile, twisted, despicable, pathetic, disgusting, hateful, and loathsome attack I have ever seen.

People used to talk about the fact that there should be limits to how far partisans should go in attacking their oppositions.  Barack Obama himself recently appealed to that spirit, when Michelle was under attack for certain remarks:

So the fact that people have tried to make her a target, based essentially on a couple of comments in which she was critical of what’s happening to our American dream and the enormous difficulties that people are experiencing — the difficulties that she hears directly as she is traveling across the country, I think is really distressing. And you know I’ve said publicly before, and I’ll say it again – I think families are off limits. I would never consider making Cindy McCain a campaign issue, and if I saw people doing that – I would speak out against it. And the fact that I haven’t seen that from John McCain I think is a deep disappointment.”

Barack Obama personally held John McCain to task for remarks that were made by other Republicans.

Barack Obama said some high-minded things during his speech accepting the Democratic nomination at Invesco Field.  He said that we should be able to “disagree without challenging each others’ character and each others’ patriotism.”  He said that “if you don’t have any fresh ideas, then you use stale tactics to scare voters.  If you don’t have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from. You make a big election about small things.”  And he said, “It is that promise that’s always set this country apart, that through hard work and sacrifice each of us can pursue our individual dreams, but still come together as one American family.”

But apparently it’s okay Barack’s army of coachroaches unloads on Sarah Palin beyond anything Michelle has experienced from even the most partisan Republicans.  Hey, don’t challenge character and patriotism, Just claim that Sarah Palin is a bad mother who puts her ambition above the well-being of her children to the point of deliberately endangering the life of her baby to advance her career.  Pretend you have a record to run on, and then paint your opponent as someone who doesn’t even care  enough to watch over her own children.  Talk about coming together as “one American family,” but turn on the attack machine to claim that Sarah Palin is not the mother of Trig – the baby born with Down Syndrome – but is in reality her granddaughter, from her daughter Bristol.  And if that isn’t bad enough, the stories are out that Sarah’s husband Todd is the incestuous father of the kid.  Sarah faked her pregnancy in order to protect this terrible family secret of a child that has Todd Palin’s DNA.

Now that’s the kind of “one American family” that Barack Obama supporters are trying to show us.

Will Barack Obama’s female supporters going to get outraged over this selective double standard?  Will they express their feminist ideas and demand that Sarah Palin not be so hatefully attacked because she – like frankly tens of millions of American women – is trying to balance her family life with her career?  Will meaningful numbers of Hillary supporters rise up in outrage because the same people who unfairly trashed Hillary in every snide way possible because she was a woman are doing it all over again? Will the way that so many liberals are vilifying Sarah Palin and demeaning her in the most reprehensible ways cause erstwhile Obama supporters to turn against these tactics and support Palin’s candidacy?

Only if Democrats have character.  Only if they are not hypocrites.

In other words, my guess is they won’t.

Would this stuff about Sarah Palin being unfit as a parent be bandied about if she were male – and a Democrat? My guess is a big, fat NO.  I can GUARANTEE YOU that the liberals wouldn’t be dripping with outrage about any of it.  In fact, my God, I can just imagine if the tables were reversed, and Sarah Palin were Barack Obama’s pick, and Republicans were coming at her with these “issues.”  The gates of hell would be opened, and feminists would pour forth from the pit with fire streaming out of their eye sockets.

But she’s a Republican, so the selfsame feminists and liberals will stop at nothing to make sure that the 2nd female candidate for Vice President in American history is utterly destroyed by any means necessary.

And Barack Obama?  He’ll let them do it.  Because in the end, all his flowerly speech is just a bunch of the most cynical talk imaginable to fool independents and uncommitteds into voting for him, and neither he or his followers apparently give a flat damn about any of it.

I’m not the first blogger to notice this by any means.  The Anchoress, in a piece titled, “Palin: Bad Mother, Bad Woman,” begins with the following:

What in the world has happened to liberal/Democrat values in the last 48 hours? It seems like the appearance of Sarah Palin on the GOP ticket has caused an immediate disintegration of all of the hard-fast rules and values that have been preached at us ‘lo these many years.

Palin was not a half hour in the ring, when a male reporter wondered, “Shouldn’t she be home raising” that Down Syndrome baby. He needed to be reminded by a female reporter that a male politician would not be asked that question, especially when there was a loving spouse in support.

Then, Alan Colmes posted (and apparently immediately took down) a piece basically questioning Sarah Palin’s instincts as a mother (does he even have children?) because she, a month before her due date, and far away from her doctor, did not immediately fall apart when she noticed some amniotic fluid leaking.

This not being her first pregnancy, Palin did what a prudent, experienced woman who knows her own body would do; she called her own doctor, kept him apprised and did not panic. She made a scheduled speech, traveled home and went to the doctor.

The left is going to try to run with this? If Palin had a “D” after her name, she’d be praised for her calm, collected manner in the situation and we’d hear how it reflects how steady she would be “a heartbeat away from the presidency”, and we would all know, because everyone would keep saying it, that – of course she would have seen a doctor had she needed to – but every woman wants HER doctor with her when she delivers, if it’s possible.

People seem to forget that women managed to birth their children – and gain some wisdom about the process – long before hospitals and the AMA were around.

The left will try to make hay about Palin’s judgment. Most women will say, however, that Palin trusted what she knew about her body, and in God.

It’s a real good article, and worth going over for the read.

Well, so much for being “pro-choice.”  It’s only okay when liberals want it to be okay.  If you choose anything they don’t like, they will come after you with a vindictiveness that is hard to imagine.

So much for the illusion of a woman having any kind of right to balance family and career.  How dare a child-bearing-aged woman aspire to a significant career.  Know your damn place, woman!

So much for women being treated equitably with men, according to the same standards.

So much for a woman who has a family and children not having to expect to be attacked in the most intimate and hateful ways imaginable based on the most pathetic innuendo in order to personally destroy her.

So much for a woman to be given the consideration of knowing herself, her limitations, and even her own body (e.g., a woman who has had four children needs to run to the hospital when liberals SAY she needs to run to the hospital, and she’s a lousy human being and a terrible mother if she doesn’t).

And it’s liberals who are taking all of these positions.

I suppose the question is, do you want people like this to have more power?

Barack Obama said that he had repeatedly stated that families are off limits, and that he himself would speak out against it if he ever saw anyone doing that.  Well, his own supporters are engaging in the most vile personal attack of a family I have ever witnessed, and it doesn’t seem to be bothering him now.  He could take these lies off the table by denouncing them, and in so doing live up to his own rhetoric.

Americans need to hold these people responsible for their malicious and hateful attacks.  And the best – in fact the only –  way to do it is to support the campaign of a woman who is truly remarkable.

One thing I’m certain of: Democrats are truly terrified of Sarah Palin.  That is why they have come so completely unglued since she entered the race, and why they will stop at literally nothing to destroy her.
